divide decimals up to four decimal places by 1110 100s and 1,000s and up to two decimal places by 10 100 and 1,000 mentally probably you are wondering about the steps in dividing numbers by one10 100s 1,000s and 110,000 notice that it is the same as multiplying by 10 100 and 1,000 and 10,000 so let us do this example let us divide 510 by 1110 100s and 1,000 let's divide first by 1/10 division of a number or decimal by 1/10 is actually the movement of one decimal place to the right of the dividend and divisor for example 510 / 1/10 first move the decimal point one place to the right of the
