invoking the presence of the Lord among us we know that we carry the presence of the Lord on the inside of us we are the temple of God in which the Holy Ghost dwells but he is an omnipresent God and so we're always grateful for what we got together is that not only do we bring the presence with us but his omnipresence begins to manifest Among Us and His glory begins to greet us and so we're thankful and grateful for that on this evening again go ahead like and share a wonderful things subscribe to channels like Pages do all that so that we can let people know that we are on and we are getting into the lesson on this evening all right and so we're going to be continuing in our lessons that we've been in dealing with scriptural salvation all right scriptural salvation so we're gonna go ahead and continue in that particular vein uh talking about this what it means to be saved all right and so this I believe is our fifth lesson in this particular season we're going through what it means to be saved is significant for us to begin to understand what salvation is from a scriptural perspective meaning for God's perspective as Apostolic Christians Apostolic Believers um those that are under the the guise of apostleship and Apostle Doctrine we view things from Heaven into the Earth we view things from God's perspective down and so when we look at scriptural salvation that's what we're doing we're looking at scripture uh looking at Salvation excuse me from scriptures perspective the way that God has given it to us in this day and age there there are some some ideology some thoughts some theologies concerning salvation that can lead us off course and so we always want to go back to the foundation of the scriptures to get God's mind on a situation amen and so in this particular case we're going to get God's mind on salvation God's mind and his thoughts concerning salvation Isaiah 55 verse 8 I believe it starts right there the scripture lets us know that that God's thoughts are not our thoughts his ways are not our ways as the heavens is higher than the earth so is his ways higher than ours but see the interesting thing that God has done now by giving us the Holy Spirit he has now allowed the spirit to come into us and the spirit begins to close that Gap and begins to give us the mind of God even though his ways and his thoughts are higher than our ways and our thoughts the Holy Spirit begins to bring us the mind of God and even the Apostle Paul begins to right in several different places that we now have the mind of right so we softly spirit that begins to close that Gap and allows the Holy Spirit to begin to lead us and guide us into all truth as Jesus said in John in the Gospel of John the 16th chapter I believe 15 or 16 is the holy spirit when it comes who begin to lead us and guide us into all truth he also begins to say that he would not hear or speak of his own he would not speak of his own word don't speak to us what it is that he hears and so the Holy Spirit begins to bring us into this place where now the mind of God is revealed unto us the scriptures even say in the Psalms that the secret things of God are given unto the upper to the righteous or given to to those that are his children the secrets of God so when you think about the secrets of God that means that he begins to give us his thoughts give us his mind give us his heart give us his desires and so that's we want to receive when it comes to Salvation and not only salvation that we do it uh that we begin to talk from biblically we want to get God's mind God's thought God's heart God's purposes God's will concerning it and so as we look at scripture of salvation all right um this is where we've always started off at we've always start from from this first place of dealing with this this concept and understanding that that God has specifications and intentions for salvation I always want to remind us of that because as I was just given that brief introduction to this point we've got to understand that God has specifications and intentions for salvation again that means that he has he has thoughts he has a mind concerning it he has a purpose he has will he has legal he has legal particulars that has to deal with salvation because God is a god of legalities God is a God that has given us law and he operates by law I know people don't like that when we think about the church and they start talking about you know you're just religious and you're legalistic and all those different things but when we really look at the text and when we look at the Bible and begin to study it from God's perspective he is a god of law his word becomes Law whatever he begins to speak begins to become law so God works by laws and so salvation has these specifications meaning that it has some particular things some legal particulars that God has when it comes to Salvation and he has his intentions his purpose his design and aim and objective for salvation and he wants to bring about particular goals in and for our lives okay so we always got to remember that God has a goal for salvation in our lives all right and so God's salvation as we always say can be measured against every other religious form of worship and be readily authenticated by scriptures see salvation is authenticated by scripture God's salvation the Salvation that God has intended for us can be authenticated by scripture when scripture is properly interpreted interpreted excuse me all right so when we interpret scripture properly then it can begin to authenticate salvation so there's been a number of things that we dealt with and gone through and I'm not going to go through all of them because again this is about the fifth lesson I believe so we're going to go ahead and Skip ahead and even uh I'll just pick up from last week some of the things that we talked about on last week well let me just say this while we're transitioning over uh the highest aim the highest aim we've discovered for salvation is Holiness God's highest aim for salvation is Holiness all right he brings us into a position where he wants to make us holy in order for him to do that all right salvation says that he has to begin to deliver us he has to begin to rescue us he has to preserve us or bring us into a place of safety in other words he has to bring us from death to life that's the other thing that we learned salvation has to deal with causing us to pass from Death to life all right and so that's what he does in Salvation we talked about the new birth that's part of the process we talked about the new creation and for anybody that's hearing this for the first time you haven't been following us you can go back to any of our social media platforms and begin to look at the previous lesson so you can catch up on all of that all right so where we were at on last week we began to deal with salvation and salvation's connection to uh Redemption reconciliation reconcile or righteousness and so on last week we were talking about uh reconcile and Reconciliation all right and so when we talked about you know uh reconcile reconcile has to deal with a restore from a English modern definition has to deal with to restore to friendship or Harmony to bring into agreement or Harmony make compatible or consistent all right then when you look at the etymology of that word reconciled means to restore to Union and friendship after estrangement or variance and also of God and Christ to restore mankind or Sinners to favor or Grace bring together again regain win over again conciliate from regain this is what it comes from from RE which is again and conciliary to make friendly so the main thing that I like about reconciliation is it has to do with this concept of making us compatible or consistent with God or Com or compatible and consistent with with God's requirement or God's standard all right so reconciliation or to be reconciled is to bring us back into that place of Harmony into that place of Union into that place of being compatible and consistent with God Jesus is high Priestly prayer before he goes to the cross in John chapter 17 he begins to say father make them one all right even as we are one and so when we even look at reconciliation you can look at it from the perspective that God begins to to reconcile us and reconcile the world the Bible says um that Paul begins to write he says God was reconciling the world unto himself in Jesus Christ so God is reconciling all things unto himself including Mankind in order that it can it can be compatible and consistent with him and come back into a place of being being a pleasure with God to where you are one all right and so when and you also look at reconciliation the Bible talks about how we were enemies with God and when we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his son all right and so when we talk about that we talked about enmity we talked about hostility opposition being an enemy of God before you reconciled you're considered an enemy of God you're considered to be in opposition or hostility with God but when he reconciles us it brings us back into that place of Harmony and brings us back into a place of being uh in in a place of compatibility and Oneness with him and so I just I'll just say this for for the last thing and then we'll go into tonight all right we closed on this on last week that the only way Humanity could be reconciled or excuse me be changed from the old sinful nature to become the New Creation in Christ was that God reconciles them back to himself through Jesus God had to settle and resolve the issues that separated Humanity from him for them to be compatible with his predestined purpose all right and then we said reconciliation is the agent or instrument of it of exchange because reconciliation is the process of that restoration into that place of compatibility with God so the exchange of going from the old man to the new man and Christ from Darkness to light from Death to life and from the power of Satan unto God all right and so when we look at this we see we talked about reconcile reconciliation on tonight we're going to go ahead and get into Redemption we're going to go into Redemption on tonight all right so let's read a couple scriptures there's plenty of scriptures that we can get into and there's some other ones that we will get into but just let's just look at these uh two particular scriptures right here just to start off all right and so when Titus chapter 2 13 and 14 King James version if you can go ahead and turn there flip there in your Bibles or go there on your electronic devices well actually I don't know why I'm telling you to go there's right there on your screen all right so it's right there on the screen Titus 2 13 14 it says looking for that blessed hope and that glory in the Glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ who gave himself for us that he might redeem us from all iniquity and purify unto himself a peculiar people zealous of good works all right then Romans 3 24 and 25 says this being justified freely by his grace through the Redemption that is in Christ Jesus whom God has set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are passed through the forbearance of God all right so when we're dealing with Redemption we see here I underline some some things as I always do to point out a few highlights in there so we understand that what we're talking about this Redemption it has to deal with Jesus it says and that 14th verse of Titus Chapter 2 it says who gave himself for us gave himself for us that he might redeem us from all iniquity so we see right just from the jump in that scripture that redemption or being redeemed has to deal with Christ who gave himself for us that we might be redeemed from all iniquity and purify now that purify is significant because it goes back to what we talked about previously about how God wants to make us holy the highest aim is to make us holy and the holy has to deal with being devoted dedicated being sacred being cleansed and so that word purify speaks to that as well of being cleansed and being made pure so we understand that Redemption through Christ and the giving of his life begins to purify us or cleanse us from all iniquity all right so he can have this pure people unto himself a peculiar people's Alias of good works now peculiar is interesting and I like that word and because it's going to give us a picture of redemption when you look at peculiar it means being Beyond usual that is special all right so we understand in the English definition modern day when we hear uh peculiar we think of something strange we think of something different and so there's a couple different Greek words for peculiar and we get and we'll look at another one in just a moment but this particular word peculiar and they're connected but this one has to deal with being Beyond usual or special so it has to do with one's own possession or someone's possession all right and so in First Peter uh two and nine that's a familiar verse of scripture where it talks about but ye are a chosen generation of royal priesthood a holy nation A peculiar people we hear that same phrase again peculiar people but that particular word peculiar uh has some other aspects to it and it comes from a word that has to do with acquisition all right and acquisition position so or purchased or being purchased so it's one's own property so we see the connections between peculiar those two different words one has that aspect of being Beyond unusual and special and being someone's possession and then the other word has to deal with an acquisition or purchase it adds those parts into it a purchase one's own property so not just one's own possession but one's own property meaning or speaking to ownership all right and so keep that in mind as we're dealing with and looking at Redemption about this aspect of acquisition and purchase all right being one's property and so in Romans uh that 3 and 24 and 25 we see it again that it is through we're Justified freely by his grace through Redemption that is in Christ whom God has set forth to be the propitiation which means that he was the one who was given to amend uh to to be the amendment for us or that which begins to cancel out the punishment and all that for us through faith in his blood in his blood to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are passed through the forbearance of God all right so let's move forward and look at these terms for redeem and Redemption you know I like to look at words I like to look at um Greek words and all that to to break these words down and to get a clear picture of redeem and Redemption all right so there's several different words for redeem and redemption in the Greek and the New Testament we understand that the New Testament scriptures were originally written in the Greek and so we go back to these Greek words to begin to get some foundational understanding of what those words meant during those particular times all right and so one of the words for redeem or Redemption is exaggerado I don't know why I'm struggling exaggerazzo all right eggs agorazo right you see it right there on your screen and it denotes to buy out so remember we talked about peculiar having to deal with this aspect of acquisition or purchase or being someone's possession so so X agarazzo denotes to buy out all right especially of purchasing a slave with a view of his freedom it is used metaphorically so this particular term is used metaphorically but it gives us the picture of buying or to buy out it gives us the picture of purchasing a slave with the view of his freedom so think about that as we're talking about salvation and how Redemption is connected to Salvation all right the purchasing of a slave with the view of his with a view to his freedom or to their freedom all right then you got another word which is lutrao lutra which is to release on receipt of Ransom to release by paying a ransom price to redeem all right so we keep seeing a theme here that we're going to look at in just a moment then you have lutrosis you know they roll them tongues and make TR sound like these and all that so luthrosis all right a Redemption all right the Redemptive work of Christ bringing Deliverance through his death from the guilt and power of sin all right so we see it's a Redemptive work it has to do with a Redemption the Redemptive work of Christ bringing Deliverance through his death all right then you have a similar word that's connected and it's apollutrosis apolutrosis which is a releasing four or that is on payment so releasing for payment is a ransom or a ransom so we see that God says that he wants to have a peculiar people and when we looked at that that had to deal with basically his own special possession that he acquired or purchased and so when we look at Redemption we begin to see this connection between being bought or the purchasing of a of a people or purchasing of a particular thing in order to bring it back or to receive it as as their own all right and so when we look at this one some of the key things that we see is we see purchasing as I just said but we also see Ransom we see Ransom and Ransom is key all right and Ransom has to deal with the price or payment demanded or paid for such a release or for a release so when when there you can think about you know movies and stuff that you see and you you know they they kidnap uh they kidnap someone and they're holding this person as a hostage or a slave and usually I was thinking about I can't remember which one it is but it's one of them Rush Hour movies they took the daughter then they take the daughter um that I guess that's one my wife is saying that is Rush Hour one so they took the the what was he he was a the prep the consulate's daughter or whatever and so in those cases sometimes you know they take it because what they're doing is they're holding them for ransom because they want this payout they want to pay out for the release all right and so we see this word Ransom in here that's connected to Redemption a ransom it gives the picture of something being hailed and there's a price or a payment that has to be paid for the release now that first word that we looked at talks about how a per it's a purchasing right of a slave with the view of his freedom so when we talk about a slave in in this particular context connected to Salvation you've got to understand that outside of Christ we are slaves to sin or we are in bondage or if I want to use the terminology to go along with the example that I gave a hostage you're a hostage you're being held captive to the power of sin all right and so there there's a ransom that has to be paid there has to be a purchasing or something being bought we have to be redeemed in order to come back into a place where we are purchased by God all right and so when we begin to look at this Jesus of course was Jesus's life equals our Ransom or equals the the payment that was given for the ransom Again The Ransom has to deal with the price or the payment that that has to be paid in order for there to be a release all right now I was doing well I won't get into that I'll get into that a little bit later I was doing some research and I uh there was a question that I came across within the research and I'll I'll get to that in just a moment so Jesus's life his sacrifice his blood equals our Ransom or the payment that was paid I think about the song uh Here I Am the worship and it says I'll never know how much it cost to see my sins upon that cross we we don't know the price or you know the value of it well we know it was Jesus's life but we don't know if there was a number that was put to it we wouldn't be able to know or calculate that particular cost his life was precious all right and so his life his blood was the ransom it was the payment that was demanded for the release of those who were shut up under sin Humanity shut up under sin all right and so salvation when we talk about salvation we talked about this before that it is a Greek word what soteria so teria and it has to deal with this aspect of of bringing people into a place of Deliverance preservation and safety all right and so Humanity was shut up under the law over and over the law of sin and death I want us to keep that in mind that there is a law of sin and death there's a law of sin and death all right that we were born into because Adam sowed us over or sold us under sin Ed us into that particular place all right and so that that fits right into this he sold us under the law of sin and death all right and so we're shut up under that particular law and so there had to be a a payment I'm getting a little bit ahead of myself but we'll hit that in a moment there had to be a payment that was given because the law of sin and death demanded that there be a ransom demanded that there had to be a payment for the release 28 it says this even as the son of man came not to be ministered unto but to minister and to give his life a ransom for many all right and you can find that also in Mark uh the uh chapter 10 verse 45 is pretty much the same scripture I think it only adds one word which it says for even as the son of man came but we see that it says to give his life a ransom for many all right first Timothy 2 and 6 says speaking of Jesus who gave himself a ransom for all to be testified in due time all right so the ransom has to deal with that price to pay a price to redeem something or secure its freedom so so it's a price that was paid to secure to redeem and secure Freedom all right Christ's atoning work because he is our atonement all right meaning that that he was he had to be that sacrificial lamb that was given to atone for sin Christ atoning work as a ransom lies in Divine costliness remember we never know how much that that cost to see our sins we don't know the cost to see our sins on that cross so listen to this Christ is atoning work as a ransom lies in Divine costliness and the inability of humans to rescue themselves from bondage all right so so what it comes down to is that this Ransom this demand for a payment is connected to the idea that humans have an inability to rescue themselves from the bondage and the law of sin and death we cannot do it ourself and because God is a god of legality as I said because God is a god of law there had to be this payment of blood we see how God set it up throughout the Old Testament which was a type and a shadow or a foreshadowing of what was to come with Jesus Christ now many people don't don't pick this up in the scripture but you you've gotta you've gotta sometimes you know use your use your Sanctified mind to I don't want to say that because some people can't can't take that but let me just say this all right so many people don't understand that after Adam and Eve sinned the Bible says this right we understand that they were they were uh they were naked and did not know they were naked but when they ate their eyes were open and they knew that they were naked and so they begin to cover themselves with fig leaves all right they tried to cover themselves now when God comes on the scene and he begins to call out for Adam and say Adam Where Art Thou and Adam says you know I was afraid I ran from the presents and all that stuff because I was naked God said who told you you were naked all right so God does all that deals with all that situation but then what does it do it says God made for them clothes of the skins of an animal so in other words when you begin to put the pieces together there had to be a slaughtering of an animal that had to be blood in order for God to take the the the skin of an animal beginning to make clothes for them I'm going back to this type in the shadow of Adam and Eve's sin and then they're having to be something sacrificed or blood in order for God to begin to cover them properly think about that God had to sacrifice something spill blood in order to cover them properly because the Fig leaves could not cover them properly glory to his name so and then we begin to see this whole picture throughout the the Old Testament that where there's the sacrifice the sacrifice the blood even when the the law of Moses begins to come and it begins to tell them about all these different sacrifices in the high priest having to go into the most holy place every year on the day of atonement to begin to sacrifice it uh and and Slaughter the animal for the sins of the people because there needs to be blood all right and so it was a type and Shadow of Jesus Christ because there was a law of sin and death because God has legalities there had to be some pure blood to redeem mankind all right so we could not do it ourselves it had to it had to be the the sinless spotless blood of Jesus Christ and I don't want to get too deep into some other stuff but he had to be born of a virgin he had to be born of the Holy Spirit so that he could not have a descent like this the contamination that comes with being born of a male and a female in the Earth I just said like that he had to be born in that particular way so that his blood would be pure now the Bible lets us know that he was in the earth and he was he he walked the face of the Earth he was tempted in always like we are tempted to yet without sin and he could not sin because then he would not be an acceptable sacrifice but the Bible lets us know that he was made sin he who knew no sin was made sin for us that we might become the righteousness of God in other words he committed no sin but when he got to the cross the father had to put or make him to be all sin in order so that sin could be crucified on the cross and brought into the grave all right I won't get too much too too far into that all right so Jesus's life is our Ransom it's our Ransom all right so as we were just talking about a price had to be paid a price had to be paid a ransom had to be paid all right and so uh First Peter 1 18 and 19 King James version says this for as much as ye know that you were not redeemed with corruptable things as silver and gold from your vain conversation received by Traditions by tradition from your fathers but with the precious blood of Christ as of a lamb without blemish and without spot that connects back to what I was just talking about so Peter begins to say you're not you're not Redeemed by some corruptable things you're not Redeemed by by natural items and silver and gold or Idols those types of things you're not Redeemed by that and he says from your vain conversation again conversation we've talked about this before it's not this communication it's talking about a lifestyle so in other words from your vain or empty lifestyle you're not Redeemed by those corruptable things that you were involved with in your Vain and empty lifestyle that you received from the tradition of your fathers but you were redeemed with the precious blood of Christ the pure blood of Christ as of a lamb without blemish and without spot can we say Amen right there all right so guys since three and third well actually before I go to Galatians 3 13 let me say this all right so so um uh in my uh biblical my dictionary of biblical imagery there's some few things that are poured out of there because it gives us the the it begins to look at the Bible and it takes particular subjects and it begins to look at the many different uh imagery or images or pictures that gives us for that particular subject and so when we look at Redemption all right or being redeemed at the heart of the image of redemption is the idea of paying a price to regain something that will otherwise be forfeited so now we already talked about that paying of the price to but see this part they added something different that says paying a price to regain something that will otherwise be forfeited all right that that's key because that that says to us that that if there had not been any Redemption if there had not been no Christ going to the Cross everything would have been forfeited all Humanity would have been forfeited and lost all right it also says this Redemption carries double connotations it implies Deliverance which we talked about salvation has to deal with Deliverance it implies deliverance and restitution but also a cost that must be paid as we talked about so it's so when you talk about deliverance we talked about soteria which has to deal with Deliverance preservation and safety and restitution restitution can also be the the idea of that whole reconciliation aspect but is also a cost that must be paid all right so reconciliation we said is the agent or the instrument of exchange because it's the process of putting things in place or going through a process to begin to make Humanity compatible or consistent with God so so reconciliation is the the instrument of exchange but but the Redemption is the price being paid if you understand what I'm saying all right so Christ what was the payment all right so let's read Galatians 3 13 real quick Galatians 3 and 13 King James it says this Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law being made a curse for us for it is written cursed is everyone that hangeth on a tree all right so Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law all right so listen listen to this Listen to listen to this from dictionary a Biblical imagery it says this now because again now let me just say this part I was going to say this earlier but this is the point that I want to say it so when we talk about a ransom being paid a price had to be paid all right the question came up as I was looking through who that who who was demanding The Ransom or or who did the payment need to be paid to and so the thought may be that it was Satan but as I was looking through it it was saying that it's not Satan it's not Satan that that that demands he can't demand of anything from God to demand a ransom or payment all right so so let's look at this this is what it says it says although the medieval understanding of redemption was based on the premise that Christ paid a price to Satan as a way of purchasing his own the New Testament does not share such a premise although Christ defeats Satan in open combat Christ does not owe or pay in anything instead Christ redeems his followers from sin the condemnation of the law and death so let's go back to what I was saying so if this be the case what is saying to us is is that Adam sold us under a law of sin and death and so when we talk about when it says that Christ redeems his followers from sin the condemnation of the law and death in other words what if you want to say it from this in this particular way in other words what demanded The Ransom was the penalty or the law of sin and death because you can't get past it or buy it without paying a sacrifice of blood if you understand what I'm saying you can only Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law now it's talking about the law of Moses but but when you talk about the law of sin and death he has redeemed us from that law all right he has he has paid a ransom for that particular law now one particular study that I was looking at it was talking about who was the ransom paid to or what how was the ransom paid who demanded The Ransom it said God's Divine Justice all right because again God encompasses everything and God is a god of law so if that be the case where the saying is because God is who he is and has set things up a particular way it was the justice of God the Divine Justice that demanded that there be a payment because we were sold under sin and sowed into the law of sin and death and so God's justice says there has to be a payment for this in order for you to be consistent and compatible with me if you understand what I'm saying all right we already almost done here you're already almost done here so let's look at a few more scriptures here to get this picture of dealing with the price had to be paid all right Ephesians 1 and 7 says this in whom we have Redemption speaking of Christ in whom we have Redemption through his blood the Forgiveness of sins according to the riches of his grace all right and that's also in Colossians 1 and 14 pretty much the same thing all right we have redemption in him through his blood Romans 6 and 23 says this we know this scripture is familiar to us it says for the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ Our Lord all right so going back to this thought again about this payment this Ransom and and something having to be paid when we look at that that second scripture we got there and it talks about the wages of sin is death we understand that it talks about that is dealing with this aspect of the higher that sin pays is death in other words sin pays you with death so when you live a life of sin it pays you with death but let's also look at it from this perspective if you're under a law of sin then then the price that has to be paid is death in order to redeem from it if you understand what I'm saying because the wages or the payment that's connected to sin is death so Christ had to die in order to pay with the wages of sin calls for which is or pays out which is death it had to be death for death if you understand what I'm saying because you can only receive death from the wages of sin he had to die in order to redeem us and buy us back all right last slide here we're going to be done we're going to be done here so Redemption I was going to say redemption is God's buyback but I didn't put that but I'm gonna say that anyway it's God's purchase Redemption has to do with God's purchase or God's buyback God's buyback because one of the the things that we read talked about how it has to deal with redeeming something or or rather it being forfeited or lost so God's buyback he had to buy back he had to he had to purchase because again he wanted a peculiar people meaning that a people that belonged to him that was his purchased possession all right that that he owned so he had to purchase or buy back from under the law of sin all right so the Bible lets us know First Corinthians 6 and 20 it says what for ye are bought with a price therefore glorify your body glorify God excuse me in your body and in your spirit which are Gods now I ain't gonna get into this but that's very interesting when you read the scriptures sometimes we gotta look at particular things he says glorify God in your body and in your spirit that's just something for you to think about and and maybe meditate on and do some research yourself but we are bought with a price all right there was a price that God had to pay for us Christ paid that price this is a part of Salvation all right if Christ never paid the price then we would still be operating under the the the Old Testament system of a high priest going before God yearly to begin to atone for our sins but this is why the Bible lets us know that we have a high priest in Jesus Christ after the order of Melchizedek who who went in and was offered once and put his blood on the altar in heaven glory to his name and when preached this in two weeks talked about the veil of the temple was rent meaning that Christ went in one time and and he was the sacrifice and brought his blood into that most holy place for all of humanity and those who believe one can receive the Redemption and it's Everlasting because he is now operating under a priesthood he's not like the priest that has to go in every year and see the the Jews even the Jews nowadays they still have of the day atonement they have Rosh Hashanah which is the head of the year which usually comes around the fall time September and where September October had to have Yom Kippur which is the the day of atonement and they have their time of the high holy days and they begin to fast and they begin to weave begin to in essence go before the go before God in Repentance but see uh and I'm not going to get to ask that I am going to say is is that we have a high priest that is always making intercession for us glory to his name the Bible says he ever lived to make intercession for us he has already been sacrificed his blood has already been spilled for us and it was sacrificed once amen and we were bought with that blood First Corinthians 7 23 says pretty much the same thing says you are bought with a price be naive the Servants of men so in the context of that particular scripture he's talking about how you you're Servants of God now you've been bought with a price so you don't got to be the Servants of men we have been bought we are God's purchase all right and that's what salvation does when it's connected when you connect Redemption to Salvation it gives us this understanding of realizing that God has purchased Us by the blood of Jesus Christ by his Precious Blood all right we talked about that new birth process you've got to be born again you know we talked about all those different aspects but God had to redeem us from under the law of sin and death all right he he had to do it or else we we could not be saved we could not be be um now the Bible lets us know that the law right the law was a tutor or a school Master to lead us to Christ because the law in some places it talks about how the law basically was was to lead us to Christ to basically show us that we could not live according to the law of Moses but it would lead us to Christ because our ultimate Redemption and the ultimate destruction of the power of sin would come through him and in his payment and his blood amen so when we look at scriptural salvation and I'm closing out with this and we're getting ready to transition but when we look at scriptural salvation and connection to Redemption what salvation uh what what it means to be saved we've got to understand now this is where I want to end with this if God has purchased us if we are bought with a price that means that we are we always say this but I want to get in our spirit salvation means that we are no longer our own salvation mean that means that God has delivered us and rescued us so that he can preserve us and bring us into a place of safety but this is what it means he paid for us that means that he owns us we are his purchase we don't belong to ourself anymore now if you want to belong to yourself and do your own thing then then go ahead and do it outside of God but I'm speaking to those that that if you are saved that means that you no longer belong to yourself that's what Redemption means it means that he bought you because you were in bondage to sin you are under the law of sin and death you are a slave to sin but now he has brought you with the blood of Jesus Christ and so when you come through Jesus when you come through him the way the truth and the life when you come through him and you are born again God has bought you and now you belong to him and you're under the law of the spirit of life that is in Christ Jesus you pass from Death unto life which you don't belong to yourself you don't belong to yourself meaning you can't just live how you want to live remember God has specifications and intentions for salvation all right so you can't just live the way that you want to live you got to live according to God's standards you've gotta you gotta understand that God again right he has goals for salvation in our lives so there's some goals that God's trying to reach the highest aim and the highest goal is Holiness for us so you can't live your own life but the amazing thing about it is that God is a good god and that every good and perfect gift comes from the father above the Bible talks about how he will you know he will not give you a stone when you ask him for bread but he'll give you good gifts if you ask him he'll give the Holy Spirit to those that ask him all right and so we thank God because salvation and connection to Redemption means that God has released us from the power of sin Paul I was going to say John Paul talks about it in Romans the seventh chapter even in the eighth chapter even the sixth chapter but Romans the seventh chapter he talks about his struggle when I would do good I found that evil was always present he talks about how how it was difficult for him he found another law in his members in his flesh all right he found a law working on the inside of him that was preventing him from being what he wanted to be for God but then he gets to the end and he says I find that it's with the mind that I begin to serve God and so God delivers us from that power of sin in the flesh now there's a process sanctification we talked about that the process of sanctification but you have been bought by God you are his purchased possession belong to you and cause you belong to him God has the best in store for us that's what we got to understand God has the best for us because some people don't want to be don't like to hear that you don't belong to yourself but you don't realize that God has more in store for you and and has better in store for you than you have for yourself you know how they say that that he's been better to me and I've been to myself and he's always going to be better to you than you could ever be to yourself all right so we thank god let's go ahead and transition to receiving our worship and giving on this evening father we thank you for yet another time of study in the word uh even now on this evening that our hearts have been open and good ground to receive the seed of your word break up our ears have been opened to hear what the spirit is saying Lord we thank you
