Mathematics Requirements

Assumed Knowledge

• Students should have prior mathematics knowledge equivalent to at least Band 4 in the NSW Higher School Certificate (HSC) Mathematics Advanced course.
• Students lacking this knowledge are advised to enroll in ECON1003 before or together with ECMT1010.

Changes in Prerequisites

• As of 2024, some mathematics prerequisites for students starting undergraduate courses in Semester 1, 2025, have been removed.
• Students should understand the necessary mathematics level and utilize mathematics learning support as needed.

Major/Minor Requirements

• Overlapping core units between Econometrics and other majors (e.g., Financial Economics, Business School, Faculty of Science).
  • Up to two overlapping 1000-level core units can count towards two majors, requiring completion of elective units for credit points.

Advanced Coursework

• Final year students in the Bachelor of Advanced Studies must complete at least 24 credit points of advanced coursework.

Honours Program

Admission Criteria

• Bachelor's degree in Econometrics with a minimum weighted average mark of 70 or equivalent qualification.
• Completion of advanced units in microeconomics and macroeconomics.
