So on a huge request by all of y'all I have taken up today the grammar portion series in which I'm going to tell you about the transformation of sentences and your prepositions and phrasal verbs. So without wasting time let's get started. I will try to do as much as I can in one video. Let's read the first question. The tree was cut down ruthlessly and you have to begin with they. So what will be the answer to this? This is in the active voice. You have to make it passive. So which will be? Just a second. The answer will be... They ruthlessly cut down the trees. Okay. They ruthlessly cut down the trees. Don't forget to put full stop. Otherwise, your answer will be wrong. Okay. Let's go to the next one. The old man said to Rahul, can you please help me cross the street? Now it is in the direct speech, you have to convert it into indirect speech. The old man asked Rahul, now whenever there is an interrogative sentence, you have to use if or whether. You have to link it and join it. So the old man asked Rahul if or whether he can become good help. Me will become him to cross the street. Okay. If he could help him to cross the street. If you want me to give you all the rules of detailed reported speech in one video, then please drop a comment yes down below and I will take it up in my next video then. Okay, moving to the next question. I would rather eat fruit. I would rather eat fruits than a lot of unhealthy junk food. So, what will happen to this? I prefer. So, I prefer eating fruits to a lot of unhealthy junk. food. I prefer eating fruits to a lot of unhealthy junk food. Please remember that prefer ke sath hamesha to ka istamaal hota hai preposition mein. Prefer over ya prefer than mat karke a jayega. It is incorrect. Next one. Rima was so tired that she could not keep her eyes open. Rima. You must be knowing that structures like so that are transformed into to to. So it should be Rima was too tired to keep her eyes open. Rima was too tired to keep her eyes open. Chale, next one. If Akashi catches the bus... She will be on time for her meeting. You have to begin with unless. And also you have to see if it is a positive sentence. Yes. If if plus not is given, then we make it only with unless. Because unless itself is a negative. So negative should be negative with negative. But if if is in the sentence, then we make it with negative. unless, let's put plus not so that negative negative cancel out okay positive bungee chicken negative plus negative will be positive so if Akashi catches bus the first bus she will she will be on time for her meeting so it should be unless Akashi catches the first bus comma she will not be on Time for her meeting. Okay. Unless Akashi catches the first bus, she will not be on time for her meeting. So, it means that if Akashi catches the first bus, she will be on time for her meeting. And the answer will be, if Akashi does not catch the first bus, she will not be on time for her meeting. So, it keeps the meaning the same. Okay. Ashoka was Greater than most other Indian rulers. Rewrite using great instead of greater. So was greater than. Greater than most other means there will be more rulers like Ashoka but he is one of the most great. So for this you will get very few. Indian rulers were, rulers hai, ishe liye were, was nahi lagega, as great as Ashoka. Chek hai? There you go. You have to use great. Chek hai? I hope this is clear. Next one. How beautiful. The scene is and you have to begin with the. Now remember exclamation mark hai toh uske liye aapko beech mein kuch ek expressive adjective dalna padega. Ki kitna beautiful scene hai uske liye. The scene is very likh sakte hai aap ya fir the scene is extremely beautiful ka bhi istimal kar sakte hai. The scene is extremely beautiful. or the scene is very beautiful. Let's go to the next one. Somebody has switched off the light. You can write, the light has been switched off. You can also write it off because it automatically conveys somebody means, of course, someone must have switched off the light. The ghost won't switch it off. So, the light has been switched off, you can leave it as it is or even if you want, you can write by someone. Okay. The light has been switched off by someone. Okay. But then I would say that you just write this much and leave it. The light has been switched off. Okay, next one. As soon as the alarm rings, mother gets up now. Students get confused the most in this. Look, with no sooner, you have to use the helping verb. Now, usually that helping verb is always the forms of do. Do means you can either use do, does or did. Many questions are asked, do we use no sooner? has, have, had ka use kar sakte hai. Dekhi aap kar sakte hai provided if the teachers are asking you to make no sooner had ya no sooner has ya no sooner have. Otherwise, do not use it no sooner ke saath. Usually, humluk do form of verb ka hi use karte hai. Hardly ke saath humluk has ke form of verb ka use karte hai. Thik hai. So, no sooner and do kis ke saath. Do or does kya hota hai? Wo present tense mein use hota hai. and did is used in the past tense. So if the sentence is in the present tense, like here, as soon as the alarm rings, so this is present tense, so it will be used with this. And that too depends on the subject. If the subject is singular, if it is a singular subject, then we take the singular verb with it, which is in the form of s or es. in the form of s or es. But if it is a plural subject, then we take a singular verb with it. Sorry, if it is a singular subject, then we take SES. If it is a plural subject in present tense, then we take plural verb in which S and ES are not to be used. Okay? So, as soon as the alarm rings, the alarm. The alarm is a singular subject, so that's why it will be used with does. So, answer will be, no sooner does the alarm ring, not rings, if you do rings, your sentence will be wrong again. No sooner does the alarm ring. Why is that? See, the alarm. Rings is correct. Okay? But when we put a helping verb, the alarm does. So then what is this? The S of ring is taken over by do. Right? When we put ES with do, then the S is done. So already by default, the verb that will be put with it, it will remain in its base form. That means it will remain in ring form. It will not be rings. So the alarm rings but the alarm does ring. So that's why no sooner does the alarm ring and with no sooner we use than. No sooner does the alarm ring than mother gets up. Okay. No sooner does the alarm ring than mother gets up. Let's move to some prepositions now. There you go. Let's start with the prepositions. First of all, write your answers dash blue ink. So, principal is announcing. So, principal called out the names of the winners. Okay. He was vexed dash Seema for her behavior. So he was vexed with Seema. It is like we are angry. Vexed means angry. Angry with a person and then we are angry at something. So he is Angry with Seema for her behavior. So main context here is Seema. If it was like this, he was vexed dash Seema's behavior. So particularly when it comes to behavior, then we add at. He was vexed at Seema's behavior but he is angry with Seema for her behavior. I hope that is clear to you. Next. Keep clear dash wicked boys. Stay away. badmarsh ladkos hai. So keep clear of wicked boys. Stay away from them. The soldiers rebelled against the king. They rebelled against the king.
