epidemics and pandemics are some of the biggest threats to a safe and healthy world they're on the rise and in today's connected World they spreading further and faster than ever before but despite this There's Hope because with effective preparedness and response we can reduce the impacts of epidemics and pandemics and even and stop them in their tracks the ifrc and our national societies have long supported people around the world to prepare for respond to and recover from Health emergencies through Global programs such as the community epidemic and pandemic preparedness program with USA and the programmatic partnership with the European Union we engage train and support people worldwide in epidemic and pandemic preparedness we make sure communities have the right knowledge behaviors skills and tools so they can be the first line of defense against disease threats we build the capacity of national societies and other First Responders enabling them to prevent detect and quickly respond to epidemics and pandemics and we partner with a wide range of stakeholders because we know that all parts of society need to come together to best prepare for future health [Music] risks we know that being prepared for epidemics and pandemics pays off because we've seen it in the outbreak stopped in the lives saved in the People [Music] Protected so in an increasingly hazardous World in which the health of humans animals and our shared environment are so closely linked let's go even further together to prepare for epidemics and pandemics and keep communities around the world healthy and safe
