Overview of Visible's New Unlimited Plans

On April 1st, Visible launched two brand new unlimited plans, an updated Visible Plus plan and an all-new Visible Plus Pro plan. And these are two of the best unlimited data plans available on the Verizon network. So, in this video, I'm covering what's new, if you should switch to one of these new plans if you're an existing Visible customer, and how the new plans stack up against the competition. First, what changed with Visible's new plans? Visible basically took the previous Visible Plus plan and split it into two new plans. a new Visible Plus plan with fewer features but a better price and a new Visible Plus Pro plan with the same price and extra features. Let's start with the updated Visible Plus plan. There are six key changes here. One, priority data increased from 50 GB to unlimited priority on LTE and 5G nationwide. And you still get unlimited priority data on 5G ultra wideband. Two, video streaming quality increased. It went from 480p on LTE and 720p on 5G ultra wideband to 720p on LTE and 1080p on 5G ultra wideband. Three, international texting was reduced from 200 countries to now just Canada and Mexico. Four, international calling was also changed from 500 minutes to 30 countries to now unlimited minutes to only Canada and Mexico. Five, the Apple Watch line went from being included to now being $10 extra. And six, the price dropped from $45 per month to $35 per month. And the annual pricing also changed, too. It went from $32.92 per month to now $31.25 per month. With the new Visible Plus plan, Visible basically removed a few features that most people don't need in exchange for a lower price. Right? Most people don't need international calling, international texting, or that free Apple Watch line. Uh so Visible removed those and they improved the features that most people do need. They increased the priority data. They improved video streaming quality. And they reduced the price. And the rest of the plan features remain exactly the same. You're still getting the same unlimited hotspot data at 10 megabits per second. You get the same 2 gigs per day roaming in Canada and Mexico, and you get the same one free international day per month with the ability to accumulate up to 12 free days per year. or if you go ahead and purchase that annual plan, you will get all 12 international day passes available immediately. If you want a premium cell phone plan with all of the core features that you need at an excellent price, the new Visible Plus plan may be the best option available. We'll compare Visible Plus to the competition in just a moment, but first we have the all-new Visible Plus Pro plan. And here, Visible went all out. Five key changes. One, they increased priority data from 50 gigabytes to unlimited on LTE and 5G nationwide. Two, they increased the unlimited hotspot data speeds from 10 megabits per second to 15 megabits per second. Three, they increased the video streaming quality from 480p on LTE and 720p on 5G ultra wideband to 1080p on LTE and full 4K streaming on 5G ultra wideband. Four, they increased the number of countries you can call from 30 plus to now over 85 plus countries. And five, they added an extra global pass day per month. You now get two free global pass days per month with the ability to accumulate up to 24. Or if you grab the annual version of this plan, you will get all 24 global pass days available immediately. Invisible did all of this while keeping the exact same $45 per month price. The only downside is the annual pricing did increase a little bit. Before the annual price was $395 upfront or $32.92 per month. The new annual price is $450 upfront or $37.50 per month. Still $37.50 per month for all of these features is an insanely good value. Plus, you still get the same 2 gigs per day roaming in Canada and Mexico. and you still get that free Apple Watch line included as well. The bottom line with Visible Plus Pro is Visible kept the same monthly price and increased the annual price a little bit and added tons of extra features to make this plan even better than it was before. So, those are the new Visible Plus and Visible Plus Pro plans. Now, you're probably wondering, how do these new plans stack up against the competition? Compared to Mobile X, both Visible plans give you more high-speed data and more hotspot data, but they are also more expensive. Mobile X is just $27.3 per month after estimated taxes, and it comes with $199 GB of priority data, 10 GB of hotspot data, and free calls and texts to 90 countries. This is perfect for most people and Mobile X remains one of my top choices for a lowcost unlimited plan on Verizon. Next is US Mobile's unlimited premium warp plan. And here I think Visible's plans are better. They give you more high-speed data, more hotspot data, and the same or better video streaming quality. Visible Plus is also more affordable than US Mobile's plan, both for the monthly option and for the annual price points. That said, US Mobile does include a free Apple Watch line and has decent international options. You get talk and text to 200 countries and free roaming in 14 popular destinations. Some of you may also prefer the 50 GB of full speed hotspot data you get on US Mobile versus the capped hotspot speeds on Visible. So, US Mobile is great if you are an Apple Watch user or you travel internationally to the included destinations, but I think Visible is better for heavier data users, heavier hotspot users, and anyone who enjoys streaming 4K content on their phone. Next are Total 5G Unlimited and Total 5G Plus Unlimited. These are getting a lot of attention right now because a current promotion gives you 50% off if you bring your own device. This drops the prices from $50 and $60 per month to just $25 and $30 per month. And at these promo prices, Total Wireless's plans are a great value. They are cheaper than Visible's plans. They still include unlimited priority data. They come with 15 gigs of hotspot at full speeds or unlimited hotspot at 5 megabits per second and 720p video streaming. You also get free international texting, international calling, and 10 gigabytes of free roaming in Canada, Mexico, and 17 Latin American countries. The total 5G Plus plan even includes a free Disney Plus subscription as well. From a pricetoerformance standpoint, the total wireless plans cannot be beaten. That said, Visible does have four key advantages. One, Visible has between two times and three times faster hotspot speeds when compared to the total 5G plus plan. Heavy hotspot users will likely prefer Visible over Total. Two, you get higher quality video streaming on Visible Plus Pro and on Visible Plus on 5G ultra wideband. Three, Visible supports the Apple Watch. Total does not. And four, I think Visible has a bit nicer application and surprisingly a bit better customer service. So yes, Total Wireless is a better value with their BYOD promotion, but I think Visible has a little bit better overall experience, at least right now. So I personally would sign up for Visible over Total Wireless at this time, but that's just me. Next is Verizon Unlimited Ultimate. This is Verizon's top-of-the-line plan. And it turns out Visible is way better. You get the same unlimited priority data, more high-speed hotspot data, the same or better video streaming quality, better international calling, and the same roaming in Canada and Mexico. And all of this is under half the price. Visible's plans are just such a good value. That said, Verizon does have four key advantages. One, it has better international roaming. 10 GB per month in 208 countries is a bit better than just getting one or two free days per month. Two, it supports Android smartwatches. Three, it supports adding a tablet line. And four, it offers better device promotions. But those are really the only advantages. If you have between one and three lines, you will save money with Visible. You can see the full pricing breakdown here on screen. Verizon is only worth it if you have four or more lines. Only then does the combination of the multi-line discount with the phone trade-in deals make the plan slightly more affordable. So for most people, I think Visible's plans are a way better value. They will save you money and give you excellent features. But how do Visible's plans stack up against other unlimited plans on the other networks? On the T-Mobile network, it is a complete smackdown. The best value unlimited plan right now is Mint Mobile's unlimited plan. And when you compare the price, it turns out the Visible Plus annual plan is cheaper after taxes and fees. Not only that, it gives you better features. Visible gives you priority data, more hotspot data, better video streaming quality, and better international features. Plus, Visible even supports adding an Apple Watch line as well, while Mint Mobile does not. The only saving grace for MintMo's plan right now is you can currently get it for $20 a month before tax with a current limited time promotion that they are running right now. But once that promotion expires, I do feel Visible Plus is a better value for your money. And if Visible is a better value than the best value plan on T-Mobile, then that means it's better than all of the plans on T-Mobile, right? Well, it's got more priority data, more hotspot data, better video streaming quality, and better international features than T-Mobile Prepaid Unlimited. And it does all of this for a better price. And the same thing when compared to T-Mobile Essentials Saver. Visible has more priority data, more hotspot data, better video streaming quality, and better international features, all for a better price. The only plan that kind of competes on features is T-Mobile Go 5G Plus, T-Mobile's flagship unlimited plan. This now has the same unlimited priority data, the same 4K video streaming, the same international texting, and better international roaming with 5 GB free in 215 supported destinations. International roaming in Canada and Mexico is also just different between the plans. You get 15 GB all at once on T-Mobile versus 2 GB per day on Visible. Now, 2 GB per day would be 60 GB of usable high-speed data per month, which is four times the amount that T-Mobile gives you. But sometimes it's nice getting all of your high-speed aotment up front cuz then you can choose how you want to use it and when you want to use it. Still, the Visible Plus Pro plan has more high-speed hotspot data, free international calling, and includes a free Apple Watch line, which would cost extra on T-Mobile. And most importantly here, Visible's plans are half the price or less of T-Mobile's plan. So, Visible is really bringing the competition with their new plans in comparison to T-Mobile, and I love to see it. But that leaves AT&T. How does Visible compare there? So, let's talk AT&T. Here you've got Cricket's unlimited annual plan. This is good if you need truly unlimited data on the AT&T network, but the lack of hotspot data makes this a non-starter for me personally. You can't even purchase an add-on for hotspot data with this plan. You've also got the regular Cricut unlimited plan. This has the same features, but is now double the price. And visible is way better here, giving you more priority data, more hotspot data, and better video streaming quality. Cricut Unlimited Plus upgrades things a little bit to unlimited priority data, and now 15 gigs of included hotspot, which is great to see, but you are still getting more hotspot data, better video streaming quality, and better international features on Visible. And you're saving yourself between $10 and $20 per month over Cricket's plan. So, I think Visible is better here as well. AT&T prepaid unlimited max somewhat competes. It comes with 50 gigs of priority, 25 gigs of hotspot, and now 4K video streaming for $55. This is a great plan on AT&T, but Visible's plans are better with more priority, more hotspot, and the same or better video streaming, and of course, better international features, all for a more affordable price. Now, you could consider AT&T Unlimited Premium PL, the flagship plan from AT&T directly, but it's the same story. While you do get unlimited priority data, a whopping 60 GB of hotspot data, the same 4K video streaming, and some pretty decent international features, you are still spending over double what you'd pay with Visible after all taxes and fees. Visible would be my choice here as well. The only one plan that really competes here is US Mobile's new unlimited premium Darkstar plan. This matches Visible's unlimited priority data, comes with an unprecedented 200 GB of high-speed hotspot data, the same 4K video streaming, and really good international features. You get 20 gigs of roaming in Canada and Mexico, and up to 20 gigs of roaming in 49 countries. Now, it is worth noting that US Mobile's hotspot data is broken down into speed tiers. You get the first 100 gigabytes at full speeds, then you get the next 100 GB at 8 megabits per second, and then you get unlimited at 600 kilobits per second. So, what's kind of interesting is the moment you use over 100 GB of hotspot data, you would actually be getting faster hotspot speeds on Visible Plus or Visible Plus Pro. It's also worth noting Visible supports Apple Watch here, while US Mobile's Darkstar plan does not support Apple Watch. US Mobile's plan is easily the best value unlimited plan on AT&T right now, especially with its current promotion where you can grab the annual plan for just $29 per month for your first year. But when it comes to the best plan of these plans, I think it's a bit more nuanced. If you compare the annual plans, US Mobile is easily the best value with its current promotion. I would definitely pick it over Visible. But if you compare the monthly plans, I think Visible Plus delivers the features that most people need at the best price point. And Visible Plus Pro has some nice perks as well, such as unlimited hotspot data at 15 megabits per second, 2 days of free roaming in over 200 countries, and that free Apple Watch line. here. The best plan for you honestly might come down to what network has the best coverage in your area. AT&T with US Mobile or Verizon with Visible. It might be worth checking which carrier has the best coverage in your area in terms of coverage percentage, median download speeds, and overall reliability. It may also be worth checking a crowdsource speed test map to see what speeds people are reporting on each area and seeing how the networks stack up. In my area in Long Mount, Colorado, you can see AT&T has really slow speeds and Verizon has really fast speeds. So, I would go with a plan on the Verizon network in my specific area. Now, if you're a current Visible customer, you're probably wondering, should I upgrade to the new plans? If you don't have any special discounts or promo codes, then yes, I 100% think you should upgrade to the new plans. You'll either save money with the new Visible Plus plan or you'll get extra features with the Visible Plus Pro plan. And if it turns out you do have a special discount such as Switch 25 or 35 plus, then you may want to check with Visible support just to confirm if your discount will carry over to the new plan or not. The good news is I have seen some promos carry over such as Bye-Bye Teimmo and Save 15. And I think the odds are pretty high that your discount will carry over too. But it may also depend if you sign up for Visible Plus or the better Visible Plus Pro plan. I encourage you to check with support first just to make sure and before you make any changes. I wouldn't want you to miss out on your current discount. And if you are interested in upgrading, you should be able to upgrade your plan right within the Visible application. At the end of the day, Visible's new plans, Visible Plus and Visible Plus Pro, are now some of the best unlimited data plans out there. They are an outstanding value for your money and are easy to recommend. Please click the like button if you enjoyed this video.
