my name is Joe V I live on inish Turk Island County Mayo and uh I work remotely remote work is absolute key to the Future sustainability of small communities here on in his chk it's a small island there's a small population there a population of around 60 people employment opportunity there are very few and far between and I guess that's the reason that a lot of people leave there's probably eight or nine full-time positions here on the island in total there's not a lot of opportunity and that has been the number one reason why you know people have been forced to go to the mainland this island one time had a population of almost 600 people it can sustain life here and I think the key to all of that then is remote War like I'm an example that it work you know it helps to sustain a family the number one kind of benefit is is the family and uh my kids delighted they hate when I have to go it allows me to continue living in this beautiful place I love living by the sea remote has left a very good impression with me they've been been very supportive of me in my remote work journey and and job search I saw the advertisement for remote work ready and signed up for it immediately it'll teach you a lot about yourself you you'll discover you had Knowledge and Skills you didn't think you had before it really changed my mindset completely I started to think about the islands uh were a little bit different as a kind of a different Dynamic with iand I de signed up for the local leer training and I want to start an island chapter so that all of the remote workers across our our offshore Islands can can can Network together why would I say to somebody considering starting out on the remote remote work Journey go for us go to go remote do the remote work ready training being able to work from home has an absolute blessing [Music]
