Lego Ninjago Serpentine Minifigures Overview

hey everyone I'm mind and in this video we're going to be taking a look at every single Lego Ninjago Serpentine minifigure ever made the serpentine were of course the main villains of Ninjago masters of Spinjitsu season 1 back in 2012 but ever since then they've continued to appear off and on in Ninjago both in the show and in the Lego sets so in this video I'll be going in chronological order through every single Lego Serpentine minifigure they have ever made starting in 2012 all the way up to this year 20124 this video is of course a part of my every Ninjago Minifigure series I've done videos on every single ninja every single blue minifigure every single Elemental master so make sure to let me know in the comments which collection you want to see in every minifigure video on next leave a like And subscribe it does a ton to help support me in the channel but now with all that being said let's get started let's take a look at every single Lego Ninjago Serpentine minifigure ever made starting in 2012 we got a total of 17 different Serpentine Minifigures that year spanning the five different tribes so we'll start out with a Hypno Bride because those were the first ones discovered in the show we have ratla on the left here and mesmo on the right the original ratl minifigure is solid obviously very nostalgic this guy came in a few sets and was using a lot of promotional material so I have very fond memories of this minifigure when I was a kid but looking back at it I wouldn't say it's the strongest Serpentine design light bluish gray is inherently just like a kind of boring Lego color but all the dark blue detailing does help to make up for that a little bit I do like the little bits yellow those bring some nice color into the figure but my favorite thing is these little swirls on his torso and in his legs of course the hypn entire thing is they can hypnotize people people and you can see that in the eyes of both these Minifigures they have like those hypnotic swirling patterns but what's cool it's not just in the eyes it's also in the design of their scales those same swirls continue down rless torso into his legs and you can see that with mesmo too that's honestly a really clever design I really love that and of course rattet introduced this all new headdress piece here that's also used on Lasha who we'll see in a moment and this is a really good molded part I like the little Spike on the end and I think it's cool that it fits with the standard minifigure head while still making this guy very snake like this printing on the top too which you can see has more of those yellow Trimm dark blue scales and then the face print does have a lot of Personality however I feel like the face print comes off very subtle on this minifigure they use a lot of dark colors for detailing on top of an already dark part so the black mouth kind of just Blends in with a dark blue head and even the white fangs and red eyes I don't know they just aren't striking enough I wish they were a little more saturated a little more vibrant so that way the character's face would stand out a little bit more because I don't know how this captures on camera but in person those colors do sort of blend together I think that's just a product of the time though as we'll see with Legacy rattla later on in this video they actually did improve that down the line but yeah this guy's fine overall far from my favorite but still definitely solid for what he is and then mesmo is very interesting because he's one of the rarest snakes I don't believe he's like the most valuable or anything but he is one of the rarest he only came a one poly bag that was only available for one month and again the design here is all right the himno are actually probably my least favorite of the tribes so starting out I don't sound very excited about these but trust me I love Serpentine I love Serpentine Minifigures I'll be a lot more passionate with some of the other ones but yeah once again light bluish gray is just not that interesting the dark blue torso is cool I guess it helps make him different from ratla but honestly I think rat's design pops more the swirls are little a little better integrated here but I feel like the yellow is not nearly as vibrant on this figure however the molded headpiece is really good again this is later reused on Spa who's one of the venomari but they did a nice job like shaping this Crest at the back and I love the teeth at the front they're so funny and once again just like rla I appreciate that there's printing on the top of the head because that didn't need to be there but it does add a lot more detail to the minifigure and then back torso print's fairly basic and actually I didn't show you rless back torso print no alternate face on him of course so overall some of the weaker ones in my opinion but still a fine start I don't necessarily dislike either of these two I just like all the other ones a lot more and now here are the next two hypn Bri from 2012 and I like these two a lot more we have slyther on the left and scales on the right these two both share the same exclusive molded head though of course with different printing but looking at slyther first I like that he leans a lot more heavily into the yellow here the scales that run up his torso are almost entirely yellow while on the first two Minifigures that we just saw was just a slight yellow trim I actually really love the colors transition between all the figures Ratt Liz of course the lowest ranking member and he uses gray and a little bit of dark blue scales is the highest ranking and he's almost entirely dark blue with a little bit gray and then mesmo and slyther in between are like a mixture of both slyther swaps out the light bluish gray for dark bluish gray on the arms and I mean I think it works a little bit better here than the light bluish gray again still not the most interesting Lego color in the world and I wish the yellow was a little bit more vibrant again this is more of like a light yellow I think I would have preferred the standard Lego yellow and even on scales you can see the yellow's a little more vibrant there and especially the gray outline on slyther torso and legs feels very flat to me but those yellow scales do look awesome however the best part is definitely this headpiece there's so much personality to it those eyes are a lot more striking this time around around and once again the top of the head is printed and this one is so so detailed lots of different colors used and like there's variance in the actual texture of the head right the eyes actually sort of pop up and out so it's not a completely flat surface to print on but they still did a great job at it and the tiny gray scales at the back are a really cool touch too then here's a quick look at sly's back torso print with the headpiece removed I think slyther is the best hypn Bri so far still far from perfect but does a lot more things I like overall a fairly solid minifigure but then we come to scales on the end of course the general the hypn one of the major characters in the show and I think he's the only one of the original hypn that I would call a truly great minifigure as I said the yellow here just feels more vibrant I know it's still yellow against dark blue but I think with the white in the center especially it pops a lot more I like the I guess rib cage design that goes all the way down and he still keeps those swirls just like ratla head but now they're in yellow so they're a lot more striking the yellow Swirls and the head Crest too look great the little white teeth are printed which look nice and there's some slight variation in the eyes between these two you can see scales's eyes are a little bit bigger and of course he does use the giant snake tail piece which was new for this wave and there's going to be plenty of other snakes in this video that use that but that is a really amazing part there's his back torso print with the headpiece removed and there's one last look from the front oh and here's the printing on the top of the head which just like slyther incredibly detailed I love how it matches the printing on the Torso too and again so impressive that it's printed even though it's not a flat surface so yeah really good minifigure I actually quite like this one they do a good job to capture his personality from the show while also making him interesting in its own right even if you haven't seen the show very solid all around I quite like this guy and now we move from the serpentine tribe that has the worst figures to the one that's my personal favorite the fangire here the first too we have snappa and we have fangi the fangire is unfortunately one of two tribes that never got any more Minifigures after 2012 so the four you're going to see here is the entirety of them but man I really love these guys snappa is definitely the worst one but he's still a ton of fun I absolutely love the head Crest piece on this guy there's like these big red scales at the top which are printed but they're also textured so they pop out of the part a little bit and they look amazing and the sort of like black tooth likee scales look really good too those tooth Lake scales continue all the way down the Torso into the legs and the leg print is very simple here and in fact this is entire figure does feel very flat like maybe even a little bit Antiquated for 2012 but I don't know that never bothered me as a kid and this guy's face print is so goofy let me remove the head crust you can see it better I just love him so much look at him he's got like these little marks under his eyes his mouth is open ready to bite something cuz that's the fangire whole thing and of course he's got those like very obvious printed fangs and of course no o to face print but there's the back torso print more of those scales and that looks perfectly good with the head crust attached but then when we come to fui you could see these two are very very similar when it comes to torso snap has got a necklace with two teeth on Fang su's got a necklace with five teeth on it and I kind of love that cuz it like introduces some World building to these Minifigures like these two are very similar characters but fangi is clearly higher ranking and even in terms of the scales again very similar design but fui just has more even down to the leg print because you can see once again very similar but the red continues even further down on this guy however the best part about this minifigure is definitely the molded head because this is the best molded head those big teeth look so goofy in the absolute best way possible but even beyond that just the level of detail on this minifigure is amazing one of my favorite part Parts us the eyes right here because he's got like these black scales around his eyes that almost look like makeup that obviously really contributes to the vampire Vibes because it gives him like sort of ey Shadow and I love that so many different colors are used too like we have these white and black scales around the sides as well they definitely could have made this guy a lot more simple so I love that they put in so much effort also just like on snappa there is like a three-dimensional part to the top of the head so like there's texture here right but he takes a one step further than snappa because there's that black printing on top of the molded scales but then white printing on top of that and all those little white lines just look amazing everything on this minifigure just comes together to create a truly incredible final result they did such a good job with him for just like a generic villain also a very small thing but the red arms I think help a lot too despite having very similar prints that makes them feel very different from snappa so yeah great minifigure really love this one definitely one of my favorites and now we come to the last two fangire Fang Dam and fangt these two once again are easily some of the best of the entire wave and some of the most creative too now one thing I love about the fangire is the consistency between all of them obviously we saw how similar snappa and fui are and you could see these two look very similar too but even if we compare Fang sui to Fang Dam you can see there's a lot of similarities in those torsos the colors are just sort of inverted where Fang Dam uses red as the base color with one on top while Fang SOI does the opposite I will say even though I really like Fang Dam his torso and legs do feel a little bit flat it just feels like it could use some more color outside of just white and red cuz there's a little bit of black in there but not much more of that definitely would have looked nicer however that's literally exactly what fangtom does so I think this is a good enough way to represent like a lower ranking version of fangtom the white arms here I think are a little bit weird too those might look better if it had red hands but again that's like a cool inverse of fang sui but of course the absolute highlight of these figures is the molded heads cuz this is probably the most creative molded heads of any of the serpentine because both of these characters actually have two heads not just one when I was a kid and these figures were first revealed I actually didn't know what I was looking at with these guys because it was before the show had aired and most of the official pictures had them staring straight on like this so I thought that this little bit of printing right here was actually a little smile instead of just being the top of the scales and then I thought these were like two tentacles like alien tentacles coming out of the head but obviously no once I got these a person I all those are two little snake heads instead and this is honestly a really complex mold like there's some very small shapes in there even if this came out today I'd be very impressed but especially for 2012 that's really really cool the surfaces that are printed are really impressive as well because yeah of course there's eyes on both sides of each head and these printed black scales around the back which look amazing most of the eyes are slightly different too like obviously there's a lot of similarities between them but there's some subtle differences in shape and expression when you look at the different heads and the different sides and that's some super cool detail that absolutely did not need to be there but really adds a lot and then take the headpiece off there's a look at the full back torso print which does feel very flat even for 2012 I would have liked more than just one color there but luckily the head does remedy that issue a little bit by adding more printed scales at the back here but then we come to fangtom who does all the cool stuff that Fang Dam also does but just improves upon all of it number one the Torso and legs look amazing they add a lot more black to that torso and I think that looks perfect with the white and the red and the arms are completely solid red this time around too which looked great the printing on the eyes is all almost exactly the same as Fang Dam except for one this inner eye right here on a fangt it's a little bit bigger and now has eyelashes and that's a very small thing that's honestly pretty surprising but it does add a lot of personality to the minifigure so I quite like that around the back too you can see this white scales instead of black on the back of the head and there's the fullback torso print which once again huge Improvement definitely everything this figure needed I absolutely adore this guy he was my favorite serpantine as a kid and I actually lost him so I had to get myself a replacement a few years ago and I got this but I had so much fun playing with this figure as a kid I'm so glad he's still in my collection today he's genuinely an amazing one in terms of looks in terms of theming and he is the perfect general for the fangire it's a shame we never got any more fangire after this cuz they are easily my favorite but now we come to the venomari and while the fangire are definitely my personal favorites I think the Venom Ario are definitely the best objectively when it comes to design so here we have Lasha on the left and spitt on the right the Venom Mario are blessed to be the classic just like snake green so it's very clear what they're supposed to be right off the bat and you can see the headpieces on these guys match that of the hypn but starting with Lasha look at the level of detail on this minifigure from top to bottom there's so many different colors used and just the texturing is amazing he's got a Vine draped over him holding these red Potion bottles and a few red scales but then of course he's covered in dark green and then he also has these black scratches that go across them as well as the black scratches on his legs and on one of his eyes this minifigure feels so alive like it feels like he's been on Journeys he's gone through stuff the actual Serpentine details are great but like the battle damage and like clothing on top is what really makes this guy for me and then his face print is full personality too you can see his guy's little tongue coming out which is super cute his mouth is slightly open too and just like all the venomari he technically has four eyes the one of them scratched out here he does have some printing on top of his head which is it's not as interesting as some of the other snakes but still looks quite good here's a look at the Minifigures back torso print which is most of the time covered by that like head Crest piece and it's definitely more simple than the front but still there's a lot of effort put in there and there's a full look at the face print too yeah this guy's genuinely spectacular so much life captured in this one minifigure I love him a lot and then SP I think is also very very good again a lot of the same design Aesthetics as Lasha but because so much of lasha's personality is that like rope that goes across and the scratch marks on them spit has got all those things different places so despite having a very similar design these two feel so distinct from each other the dark green arms is a nice touch too the placement of the bits of Ron spitter are really nice they like sort of frame the Torso and break up what's otherwise just a lot of green and then the headpiece on this guy is phenomenal he uses it so much better than mesmo does he's got two yellow eyes on each side which are Super striking against the dark green and the white teeth are very striking as well and then the top of the head might be the absolute best part I love the lime green printing there to like break up all the dark colors up here but then all the black scales create a really cool shape and some somewhat subtle detail back torser print on this guy too is also actually quite good unlike ler he's meant to be showing his back a lot more often because he doesn't have that head crust covering it so it actually feels fully detailed he's got these Vine straps that sort of serve as the backpack and that's what holds up these Potion bottles at the front and more scratch marks just like Lasha has to show that he's been in combat two phenomenal Minifigures again easily some of the best Serpentine and here are the final two Venom Mario for 2012 but it will not be the final venomari in this video we have lazaru on the left and acidicus on the right and acidicus is of course the venomari general the Venom Mario are interesting cuz this is a case where I prefer the lower ranking snakes to the higher ranking ones these two are both fine but I don't think they're nearly as good as lha and Spitta are and a big part of that is this new headpiece that they both use of course this piece is exclusive to these two figures none of the other Serpentine use it but while this piece is really detailed I think it's almost maybe too detailed and it ends up looking a little bit messy in execution cuz aidus I actually quite like his design especially in the show but on the actual figure the printing's just a little bit off and I don't think that's just my figure either I think this is pretty common for acidicus is like white on these teeth on the side is just very splotchy same with the horns at the top and the eyes at the side like I don't know they look fine but when you look back at spa they're not nearly as striking as they were on him lazaru does the head a little bit better than aticus does but even still yeah I think they tried too much with this headpiece maybe going a little bit more simple here would have been better coming back to lazaru though and properly talking about him I mean again I like the color scheme dark green and lime green is a great color combination I like that he uses more actual dark green in his torso here he also still has the scratch marks that the previous two had as well as a little bit of red my biggest thing with this guys he just doesn't have like any of the clothing or gear that the other two did no Potion bottles no Vines and I mean that's fine he doesn't need it but that's part of what makes the other two so interesting so without them he just feels a little more boring the other thing is I feel like he could have used some more color on his head the white teeth on the side are cool as I said the printing is not the best though it is better on lazaru than it is on acius I assume because lazaru has less colors going on but on the top of the head too it's just black printing on top of dark green I'm not even sure if you guys can see that so this guy's perfectly serviceable and I mean he fits the venomari well but to me spit is still like the peak of how things are meant to be done and then a cicas I did already talk about the printing on the head but I think the actual design of the head is quite good I especially love the lighter green color on the top that looks really nice especially with those red stripes at the back but my favorite part about this guy is definitely the fact that he's entirely dark green it definitely makes him feel like the leader of the venomari since none of them used that color to that extent and sort of turning the whole color scheme On's head with the green in the center looks amazing especially with the red stripes framing everything too there's a look at the back torso print on both of these Minifigures nothing too interesting going on with the zaru but aticus does use a little a little bit of red which looks nice overall I think acidicus would probably be one of the best Serpentine if it wasn't for the printing issues on his head and lazaru was good like he's a venomari and all the Venom Mar are good but he is definitely the weakest of the collection and now we come to the constrict eye and here are the first two we have snake on the left and Shogun my boy on the right the low ranking constrict ey use the same pieces as the fangire though of course recolored however because all the constrict ey use short legs it gives these guys a very different look I actually love the whole design concept behind the constrict eye their whole thing is that they're digging snakes so they're orange black and and they have like this cracked Rock design as their scales and that's a super creative concept because like the shape of cracked rocks and the shape of snake scales are similar enough and honestly Snake Here looks quite good we have a few different colors in here like I like the little strip of white scales the Torso is completely covered as well there's really not any dead space and the little scratches and scuff marks on this like black strip scales in the center makes this guy feel extra detailed that's something I always love when they do I mean I talked about a little bit with the venomari but you can see that even more in the constrict eye here like both of these guys are really beat up in the center but it's like intentionally beat up and I I think that's such a cool concept snake definitely improves upon like the snap ah head Crest piece too because not only does he have gray printing on like all those scales in the center but he also has those Cracks around it and taking that off I think his little face print's cute he's got like these big Rocky eyebrows and a little bit of weight at the top just like the scales in his torso and as always no alternate phase but again still some of that design around the back but then we come to my beloved wonderful boy right here chokun chokun has a very special place in my heart I started the Bricks by mind Instagram in 2014 and I think in 2015 we started doing chokun appreciation day and that was day where me and a bunch of other people on Instagram would just post pictures of chokun and that's all because one day I was looking at chokun to my collection and I thought that's a funny looking minifigure and he is really goofy looking but in the best way possible I think the short legs really help here because of course I also really love fangi but I don't know something about this headpiece with the short legs it all comes together so perfectly and creates just the most amazing little guy but even beyond my personal connection to chokun this is honestly a really good minifigure once again level of details pretty impressive especially for 2012 like there's a lot of really small details on this guy he's got those scuffs and scratch marks in the center we were talking about too and I like that the white scale sort of creates Stripes up the side and those actually continue all the way onto the top of his head top of his head too by the way uses metallic silver which is an amazing color to see and that continues all the way around the back of his head and those crack scales continue too even though that's something Fang sui did not do this is a part of the head that choken has printing on that fangi does not back torso print is simple but good I think it transitions from the head pretty nicely and I like the similarities that it has with snik while also still being like a little more detailed a little more armored this guy is my abs abolute favorite individual snake from 2012 still love him to this day I think he's in my YouTube Banner which I haven't updated since I started the channel in 2020 I should probably do that sometime yeah in this entire video there's only going to be one other guy that comes close though that guy comes close for just being silly chokun is both silly and wonderful and I can't not love him oh also love the yellow eyes on the side and like the rocky eyebrows this guy just looks great and then here we have the last two constrict eye byar on the left and then the General on the right scaladar is really really really silly he's got the small legs but then he's also got the tin a little head because it's the same head as scalid and they made scor's head a little bit smaller cuz he has the same size Tail as all the other generals so to make him actually shorter than the rest he had to have a smaller head too but combining both of those on bitar makes this guy incredibly small he is probably my least favorite of the constrict eye but that doesn't mean he's bad per se I like that he leans more into the black color scheme and the headpiece honestly is really detailed like I love how many different surfaces are printed you have like all these little spikes nowadays that would be something that's dual molded but this before dual molding was a thing so no each of those little individual spikes are painted on there I I think it's pretty cool how one of his eyes is like completely covered up or scratched out it makes it more unique compared to Skeletor and the silver scales on top of the head look quite nice it creates some cool consistency with Shogun but then the actual torso print is not as interesting as it could have been I would have liked some more colors here every other constrict I use is white to some extent but for some reason scor just completely leaves that out the back torso print is also incredibly simple this time around though it is mostly covered up by the headpiece I like that the Torso is very similar to snake though with the colors inverted but even on snake the Design's a lot more intricate and detailed and so much of it is covered up by the head too so I like this guy he's very very goofy but also not my favorite you can't beat Shogun and then scallorn he of course has that same headpiece though with silver springs instead of the orange ones and the actual printing on the head just has a lot more going on the pattern around the eyes seems to be exactly the same which is a little bit weird between those two though of course he has two eyes as opposed to byar only having one but you can see on the top of the head there's a lot more actually happening here you got some white scales a little orange strip in the center and if I take that headpiece off there's a full look at the Torso print I love that the orange scales continue all the way down to the tail there's still that little bit of white too just like on shokun and snik this silver armor has a super cool look to it and there's the back torso print too which again very simple but mostly covered by the head and definitely more interesting than bitar is I think the construct ey are a very strong tribe overall probably my third favorite but that's just because the venomari and the fangire are so good there's really not a single figure here I actually dislike and for our final tribe and final minifigure from 2012 we have the anacondra and there's of course just one member of the anacon Dr Pythor P chumsworth now you may be wondering why do you have two Pythor there and not just one that's because I wasn't sure which of the two to include in the video because the one on the left this is how he came in the set the one on the right this is how he appeared in the show the only difference is the color of the arms the one in the set had black arms the one in the show has purple arms so I thought it was worth showing both personally for my own collection I display the one with the purple arms because that's more show accurate but technically we're looking at Minifigures we're looking what came in the sets and this is the one that came in the sets but now that I've shown you both I'm going to remove this one so we can take a look at the one from the show because I think that's the Pythor that more people are familiar with so right off the bad the biggest thing with Pythor is the headpiece cuz in the show pythor's got this big long neck and Lego had to try to figure out a way to translate that into minifigure form so what they decided to do was have this big bed in the center and then have his mouth open and screaming now this might be one of the most controversial Ninjago pieces of all time because everybody has a different opinion about it I remember even at the time in 2012 when I was what 10 years old and this minifigure came out people didn't like it back then they didn't like that he was stuck always screaming and they didn't like that didn't have his full neck and me personally I honestly don't mind this it's not the best representation of Pythor from the show but I think it's a decent enough translation into minifigure form and my thought back then was hey this is just the Pythor now if they ever remake him in the future maybe they can give him a different head little did I know 10 years later they would still be using the same headpiece as we will see later in this video we've had numerous versions of Pythor since and they all used that headpiece and yes it definitely got tired by the end but even still for the time I did not mind this at all there is a lot of detail to the printing here the red eyes on the sides are very striking and I love the black and gold scales at the top with the little blue gem at the front his torso however can't see that well even if you move the head out of the way so let me remove it so you have a better look and there you can see there's another one of those blue gems and these quite elegant like golden spikes coming out of it the Symmetry here is actually very pretty and purple black and Gold's a pretty nice looking color scheme back torso print's definitely a lot more simple than the front but I think it's fine it fits Pythor ball enough I do definitely like this figure for the main villain of Ninjago season one I would have liked maybe a little bit more like ideally a hinging jaw would have been awesome but that would have been asking a lot but I don't know I definitely feel like there's a bit more they could have done here maybe some more detail on the back torso print maybe a slightly different head mold but all things considered I'm fairly happy with it and I don't mind the head mold as much as some other people do though I know a lot of people really really hate that headpiece but as we will see in just a moment this will not be our final Pythor minifigure so there was no new Serpentine Minifigures in 2013 and none in 2014 but jumping all the way to 2015 here our next two we have Cho rry and Capal Ry who are false anacondra of course this was a part of the Ninjago tournament Development season where Chen used the staff of elements to turn all of his followers into anacon Dr and that was really cool to see because For the First Time Ever we finally had new anacondra Minifigures because as we just saw in 2012 we only had Pythor and in the show Pythor was the only anacondra and luckily these guys did introduce a new anacondra head unluckily it's not the same head Pythor uses so this does not work for him I'm in two minds about that on the one hand I think this looks really good it definitely captures like the snake feel really well honestly this might be the most snake likee head we've actually gotten but on the other hand I don't know I think it's kind of weird that Pythor is the only anacondra to have that long neck I assume that was the whole point of the anacondra like that was their thing so I would have liked if these guys kept the long neck that Pythor head but that's not the end of the world but we have the same exact head print on them these like red eyes with little black scales around them that looks good and the expression is very intense and then they're both wearing like this anacondra cultist Garb kowai gets this really cool molded armor piece that's still molded in dark red and tan it's got like a little bit of a rib cage on the back which looks amazing and I like the spikes coming out of it it's cool to see how like asymmetrical it is too and I like that this printing on torso sort of matches with the armor shoppr on the other hand just has a little bit of printed armor you can see it connects to one righted arm those little silver daggers are a cool touch and you can see that armor continues around the back a cool new introduction with these guys is they introduced the idea of having like bronze scales on the anacondra which Pythor did not have he had more gold scales but you know what I think that does actually work for me as we saw with the other serpantine tribes the colors aren't completely consistent across the tribe they're just all very similar so maybe the general the anacondra is meant to have gold and like the lower ranking ones have bronze that makes sense in my eyes and also just bronze and purple look amazing together I love that metallic printing genuinely makes for such a cool minifigure and then these two both share the same exact tail piece again this comes with the anacondra cultist so they have these little snake skulls there and these chains hanging down but where their pants used to be it's completely ripped because theyve now grown a snake tail coming out but those black and bronze scales continue all the way down here and there's a look at Cho rise back torso print with the armor removed as well as the same torso print from the front I do really like these guys I wish they had done a little bit more with them cuz we do see more from them in the show and also more false anacondra Beyond these two in the show but I got to be honest I still really love them I do prefer the human versions of the anacondra cultist but I'm just happy to get more anacondra also in 2015 with Tournament of elements we got a new version of Pythor our first ever white Pythor and this is probably my favorite Pythor minifigure we've gotten again there's still going to be more in this video cuz we've gotten a lot of variants of this guy but I think this is definitely where they peaked now pylo did return to the Show in 2014 but he didn't get a minifigure that wave so it's really great that he got one for these sets and this is just so beautiful white with purple on top is a color combination that we don't see too often in Lego but it just looks so genuinely nice like I don't know how to put it into words but there's just such a simplistic Elegance to this figure that I adore because that's the thing the actual printing in a lot of it is quite simple like on on the tail that's not nearly as detailed as the original Pythor or Pythor we're going to see later on but being more detailed isn't always better and I don't know something about their only being two colors here just the White and the purple looks so good to me same thing with the top of the head too right it only uses those two colors aside from the gem at the front that gem by the way has been made a little bit bigger this time around to match his appearance in the show the one on his original minifigure was a lot smaller than it appeared in the show and then even like the eyes on this minifigure just look so sharp the solid white piece is just the perfect canvas for this design and then if I take the headpiece off we can take a look at the Torso print too and you can see he's somewhat wearing like anacondra cultist armor I think this is because it was designed for the sets before the writers wrote the show it doesn't really make sense for him to be wearing the cultist Garb but it's still looks cool I think the Torso is definitely the worst part of this figure but honestly it still works the dark red adds like a nice breakup of color and I love how the gem in the center of his torso is now framed with like this armor and it looks quite cool around the back too this genuinely might be up there as one of my favorite Lego Minifigures of all time and that's Lego in general not even specifically Ninjago it just looks so beautiful so perfect to me while also still capturing pythor's personality you guys have let me know in the comments what you think are you guys as passionate about this figure as I am or is this just a weird thing where it really scratches a certain inch in my brain where I really like it but it doesn't connect with other people as much I'm quite curious to hear your thoughts now moving into 2016 we actually had a couple new Serpentine Minifigures this year first off is this guy right here Clancy who's of course one of the sky Pirates Who are the main villains of the first wave that year Clancy has a really interesting design cuz he was the first Serpentine that we got that wasn't like very obviously part of one of the five tribes looking at his design obviously his color scheme is very venomari he uses the lime green with the dark green that's the same thing all the venomari use but if we look at the actual pattern of the scales as well as the shape of his head that's closer to the anacondra specifically the false anacondra that we just saw the previous year now Clancy's whole backstory is that he didn't fit in with the serpentine so he want he join the Pirates instead so that would make sense if he was a combo of both a venomari and an anacondra and the tribs didn't accept him so he had to go leave and find a home somewhere else that being said that's what his design indicates according to Tommy andreason one of the creators of Ninjago Clan's half venomari and half Hypno which I don't see hypn anywhere here at all but technically that's the most Canon answer we have there's a short where we see his mother's a hypn but that Short's not canon so I don't even consider that here and then Clancy is also from the past so there's also a chance that he's from like an older tribe before the venomari that later evolved to become the venomari but this is before the venomari war as we knew them today but anyway that's your Clancy backstory lesson for the day in terms of the actual minifigure he's adorable I love this guy so much one of my favorite parts of skybound which is one of my favorite seasons and just look what they did with this minifigure he looks great they took the Dr head which was supposed to look a little bit scarier right like those are big powerful snakes and they're yelling and they're angry but because they change the way I was designed he looks just happy and smiling instead I think it's important to know that he has a yellow eye just like the venomari have however it's only one eye not two like they have and then of course he also has a little bit of Sky pirate armor on he's got the sky Pirates logo right there and this metallic orange armor which you can see like the paint's tripped off a little bit so that's got metallic silver on it as well as of course the one orange arm no printing on the legs unfortunately though he does have a peg leg which is very cool I love this guy a lot I think it was super cool to get another Serpentine after so many years and by that I mean an actual Serpentine not a false Serpentine Clans is also just one of my favorite Ninjago Side characters but then in 2016 we also had these two which are some of the weirdest Ninjago Minifigures we have ever gotten on the left here this is a new version of Lasha that's different than his original figure and on the right this guy's just called snake villain obviously these two are both venomari I mean this is literally Lasha but snake villain is also very clearly venomari despite the fact that his head's a little bit weird these guys though came in Lego Junior set so they're made for very young kids I guess to get the into Ninjago and I guess Lego thought it would be best to have the villains based off old Seasons instead of new ones so that's why they went back and Revisited Lasha and I think that's a really really cool idea his face print is very similar to the original though you can see it's a slightly different expression his mouth's a little more open now and you can see more of his fangs his tongue's like off to the side it's a super slight variation but it's very cool to see and obviously you could swap that out onto the original lha minifigure to give it more expression but then he's also got an entirely new outfit too where he's wearing this like burnt orange armor and I'm not entirely sure the point of that I think it's to make him sort of match the sky Pirates cuz this came out the same time as the skybound wave so that way if you wanted lha to be a sky pirate he could but he also just stands on his own like as his own mini figure but also that's not the sky pirate color exactly so I'm not entirely sure what they were thinking regardless it's pretty cool I think I do prefer lha's original design to this he no longer has those red Potion bottles which I think are one of the coolest details of that original figure but it is quite cool to have an entirely different outfit for him even if we never saw it in the show and it's very consistent with the original figure too like he still has those scars in his belly just like on that one the head crust piece is exactly the same by the way all the way down to the printing and if we turn them around and take that off there you can see the back torso print too and there we can see I guess yeah the red vials are still there I think they look a lot cooler on the front and that armor carries over here too so yeah I don't know a very weird and wacky variation to get but I kind of like it I definitely prefer the original version but it is just cool to have two versions you can't say that about most of the serpentine snake villain though is another one of my favorite Ninjago Minifigures of all time just because of how weird he is very similar design to this version of Lasha they use the same exact leg piece but I actually prefer the color scheme on this one he used is a lot more dark green given that it's in his head and it's a little more prevalent in his torso than on Lasha and I think that actually fits really well with the burn orange I like the armor on both arms and he actually has one of those red vials in the front of his torso to bring more color into the design the two yellow eyes on each side are super striking too definitely reminds me of like spit from the original wave but I think it actually fits this headpiece really well yeah I love this guy so much because just like what is he why does he exist clearly they were okay bringing back old Serpentine cuz they did it with lha why wasn't this spit it or something why did they decide to make an entirely new Serpentine instead and it's not just like it's reused Parts like this is an exclusive print and exclusive head for this minifigure and it's somewhat similar to Clancy that we just looked at but no this is like a different color for that part and he's also quite goofy looking which as you know is something that's very important to me I absolutely love this guy I have no idea why he exists but I'm so happy he does anytime I'm placing an order on Bricklink or something and the seller has one of these guys in stock I always buy one I think I have like five or six of them now even though they only came in one set such a weird piece of Ninjago history and finally in 2016 during the day the parted wave we got two more Serpentine we have one more version of Pythor on the left and then isor Ry on the right this version of Pythor is in like this cloak and that's pretty cool to get cuz it's somewhat similar to the outfit that he wore in Ninjago Rebooted and as I said we never got a Pythor minifigure in rebooted so it's neat to see them kind of bring that back with day The Departed and I do actually think he looks quite nice it's the same headpiece as the 2015 sets which as you heard me Express really really love that part so cool to see it come over here that design is still fantastic however removing that and taking a look at the Torso I don't think this is nearly as strong as the previous one it's still good don't get me wrong it just doesn't feel as interesting I like that the robe goes all the way down the snake tilil though that makes for a very interesting part and the metallic blue used for the gem on the chest looks incredible I like the little snake belt too similar to the anacondra cultist that's a very cool touch around the back he has a hood too just like he had in rebooted so overall this is another good version of this guy not as strong as the previous one but still pretty great I think it's probably still an improvement over the original in 2012 and then isor is another false anacondra he's one of the others that we saw in the show in season 4 but he wasn't made into a physical minifigure until now and there's things I like about this figure and things that I really don't number one thing that I like is actually the headpiece unlike the other Transformer dondra this guy actually does have a unique head one of his eyes is like a glass eye and it's got this red makeup around it which looks so like intimidating and the other eyes is a very striking blue which is in stark contrast to the red that all the other transformed anacondra I use so yeah that headpiece is amazing and then the Torso is almost really good I love the little tooth necklace these like bronze chains that hang down are super nice my issue with this guy is the belt is on the Torso and if we look back of the transformed anacon dry from 2015 the belt was actually on the tailpiece not the Torso and that leads to the other difference between those two Minifigures is there's no tailpiece on this guy it's just legs now that's not accurate to what we saw in the show at all I mean I think it is accurate to day of The Departed but it's not accurate to season 4 which is where this guy originally comes from so it kind of just feels like they ran out of budget with this minifigure and didn't want to give them a tail but listen all right if they don't want to do that that's fine they don't need to do that but at the very least they could make the Torso compatible so you could use the other tail pieces from those other Minifigures we just looked at the issue is they move that up to the Torso instead of the legs so if you do put that tail piece on from another minifigure then he's going to have two belts instead of just one and that looks very very silly so I really wish they' done that torso differently cuz I really like the design and the head especially is amazing but having legs here does really really hurt this minifigure and so does that belt placement still not like a terrible minifigure again like I do really like a lot of aspects about it but the tail just would have been so so much cooler and now we move into 2017 where we had the Vermilion and honestly I don't even know if these guys should be in this video at all because I don't know if they're Tech Ally considered Serpentine they're snakes don't get me wrong they are 100% snakes if you don't know what the Vermilion are like if you haven't watched season 7 the entire idea is they are a hive mind of snakes literally tons of like little life-sized snakes that all come together to create like a humanoid form season 7's not great and the Vermillion aren't great in the season but conceptually they're some of the coolest Ninjago villains ever but the thing is does that count as Serpentine cuz all the other Serpentine are humanoid snakes they are one being they're not a hi mind of little snakes so I don't know if this should count on the Ninjago Wiki they do call the rilon serpentine but personally I don't think they count they're the children of the Great Devourer maybe I'm misunderstanding Ninjago lore but I don't believe the Great Devourer is like the ancestor of the serpentine I think she's just like another serpent God that they worship so with all that in mind I decided that I'm going to show off all the Vermilion in this video but I'm not going to spend a ton of time talking about them in short I really love these Minifigures they're fantastic I wish they'd been utilized better in the show these first two here are slack jaw on the left and Vermin on the right there's a look at the Vermilion face print I'm pretty sure all the red ones use this exact same face it is double-sided and there you can see the printing where like the snakes do look really cool and the armor on these two is great too honestly these are some amazing Minifigures here are rivet and Supreme Commander Makia maia's got an amazing hairpiece with like the Medusa hair in dark red and if I take off rivet's armor this is now tannan instead there's both of their back torso prints and there's maki's alternate face as well she's probably the single best villion minifigure and finally here's Commander ragm Monk and Commander Blanc both of whom are probably some of my least favorite characters of all time in the show but I have to say they both have phenomenal figures rag Monk's armor looks amazing and honestly so does blancs I love all the snake detailing on it and I like that they're different colors too they're not just red we have burnt orange and regular orange here there they are with the armor and helmets removed you can see all of the snakes are out blun has a really cool scar right there too and there's their back to PRS and Alternate faces yeah actually really amazing Minifigures then there was no new Serpentine in 2018 however in 2019 we actually got quite a few starting with these two right here so 2019 was the introduction of Ninjago Legacy which were remakes of old Ninjago sets and with it we got some REM makes us some old figures so this is the Legacy version of Lasha and the Legacy version of spa now the Legacy venomari I have to say are weird kind of bad I don't know when these first came out I didn't mind them I thought they were strange but I was like you know what it's a fresh take I don't mind it so much but then as we'll see in a moment they went on to remake another tribe and those actually looked really good so that made these look worse by comparison I think the biggest issue here is the face print on lha cuz like what in the world is happening here I don't know what they did to him the old lha has so much personality so much life this feels a lot more like animalistic which I don't know I think the whole anthropomorphic aspect of the serpentine is one of their best aspects so removing that in this figure and giving him like these weird nostrils at the front just makes him feel very weird it doesn't feel like Lasha at all he does still have like the one missing eye which it's cool to see that carried over but yeah I'm really not a fan of that face print now a somewhat interesting detail is the headrest actually reuses the original print from back in 2012 and that's kind of surprising to see like they're redesigning everything else why not redesign that and if you're going to keep that the same why not keep the face the same or do something like they did in 2016 where it's like a different expression and a different outfit but it's still the same character we know because then we get to the Torso and legs I'm like I can accept this it's not nearly as bad but still it feels like it loses a lot of the venomari identity because now he's got like this yellow chest which like looks fine I guess but that's not what the venomari have ever had and he still has the poison vials which are super cool but they're not red anymore and red was like a huge part of their color scheme like it was always used in subtle ways but like every venomari had read to some extent it was their main accent color and that's just not present at all in either of these Minifigures anymore so he's just got these black files instead I do like the little skulls on them that's kind of cool and the metallic silver armor honestly looks quite nice but this does genuinely feel like a huge downgrade over the original and honestly doesn't feel much like lha at all tning them around looking at the back torso print a lot of the same again more of those poison vials which are cool to see I like that those are there but I just wish they were actually red like they were originally and then the leg print too I feel like has a lot less personality it's a bunch of dark greed scales which again are all right but the pattern feels very random and unintentional on the original Serpentine the scale pattern is a lot more deliberate and then spitter reuses the same leg piece as Lasha and his headpiece is actually exactly the same as it was back in 2012 that was very surprising to see cuz Lasha at the very least had a figure back in 2016 so there was only a couple of years where he wasn't on shelves at all but spit it had begone for 70 years and they brought him back with the same exact head print but I'm not complaining about that because yeah that original head print is really good yellow eyes still very striking love the pattern on the top of the head and I think his torso Works a little bit better but still it just doesn't really feel like venomari there's no red here at all the yellow chest is fine but like I don't love it and the pattern of the legs feels so much less deliberate this guy just feels so much more generic than the original figure I don't know it's cool to see these guys remade and reimagined but in my opinion this is just not the way to do it spit is all right but not great Lasha though is pretty bad and finally for Ninjago Legacy in 2019 Pythor also got a remake and luckily he is significantly better than Lasha and probably about on part of spit though I think I slightly prefer this guy to spit this one definitely just feels like a modern interpretation of that original Pythor design very similar aesthetic very similar colors just with more detail going on I do think the scales especially in the tail feel very splotchy like all the little black dots this is maybe another case of like overdesigning you got too much going on the more simplistic designs on the original figure definitely look better in my opinion but there's also some cool things he does too he now has like this light purple belly that goes down the center of his torso into the tail there with the head removed you can see that a little bit better that gemon his chest is now a necklace instead and you can see there's like a little snake head that holds on to it and that continues around the back too with like the little tiny snake body red eyes are about the same as they've always been and the top of the head does similar things to the body where there's lots of those little spots but also those gold triangles are still there and the gem on the front of his head is now properly sized to match all the other Pythor figures I think this is a solid enough minifigure it's close enough to the original that if you didn't get Pythor in 2012 when he did get this guy he like looks enough like he does in the show I will say Ninjago Legacy was the perfect opportunity to replace this headpiece with something new up until this point I really didn't mind it but it was like come on it's Ninjago Legacy this is about remaking the original waves it's been 7 years since then original figure why does he still have his mouth wide open it feels like it's finally time to change it but nope they still never have and I don't know if they ever will also funnily enough this guy still has black arms just like that original figure even though he never had them in the show that's another thing that 7 years later they still couldn't fix for some reason but because of this is a reimagining I guess the black arms work a little bit better here yeah cool concept happy it exists but also not one of my favorites either and then also in 2019 we had Ninjago season 11 the secrets of forbid Spinjitsu and in that wave we had the snakes as the main villains again for the first time in years this time around it was the Pyro vipers led by asph right here there are race of like ancient hypn that were revived by the elemental power of fire so they're an entirely new take on the snakes and honestly I really love these guys so starting with the main woman herself ASA I love her character but her minifigure is very weird there's things I like and things I don't the molded head's really great I love the trans orange on the Flames at the back and on the eyes though I do feel like some of our personalties is lost here she doesn't have pupils on this minifigure which she obviously does in the show so it makes her feel more like a spirit than an actual living creature and if you've seen her in the show she definitely has personality so I don't know if that was the best way to go about things but ignoring the accuracy of the show this headpiece just looks really cool especially in my light box with that light shining through that looks incredible that armor piece too one of the best parts to come out in Ninjago it's like the snake themed armor that fits the snake's neck on both aspir and on Char but then also has little snake faces at the shoulder pads which is adorable and they also look super cool and there's a stud at the back to attach accessories and if we remove that you can see her full torso print and this brings over like the mummy aesthetic cuz that was the whole theming of this way she's got this really elaborate gold necklace and I don't know whose idea it was to give the snake female anatomy I I didn't need that personally I would have been fine with just you know the way the rest of the snakes looked but sure why not that's that's a thing that's on this minifigure I guess and that necklace also looks very cool from the front and you can see more of those like mummy wraps around the back and then the tail is the other part I don't like about this minifigure cuz she uses the ghost tail piece that was introduced in 2015 for Ninjago possession and that's a really cool part for ghosts it represents ghosts really well but I think the designer's idea is that this is a snake tail but like engulfed in Fire and yeah I have a hard time seeing that in the show she has a full snake tail just like this and I don't know why they didn't just do that for this Min figure I think if she had a full snake tail and if she had pupils this would be one of my favorite Ninjago Minifigures ever but without those I just think she's decent a lot of things I like but definitely lacking in a couple of very important places and then we have char her second in command on the right and once again just like asph I think the missing pupils definitely hurt this guy because he looks more ethereal he looks like a spirit he doesn't look like he's a living creature with a personality which he definitely is in the show so I would have liked some way to print the eyes to give him that life that he has in the show however again I love the transparent Parts the D molding looks amazing on that head and especially with the light shining through it it looks super cool he's also got that same armor piece but in bronze which also looks amazing and if I take that off you can see the full torso print as well as the full tail print and he's wearing like a piece of clothing that's got a flame at the top and it spells out fire and ninja argon and just like asira he's got little mummy wraps at the top as well as a few little scale details which is a nice touch cuz those didn't need to be there but definitely helps him look more like actually snake like I'm glad that he has the full tail too cuz it looks amazing definitely fits a lot better and you can see there's another flame symbol in the back there I like how everything's like tattered and dirty too it definitely helps communicate that this guy was like revived after thousands of years so I think I actually like Char more than I like asira once again I think he could have used pupils but everything else about the figure is everything I could want so I'm overall happy with him and then here are the other two just generic members of the Pyro Viper Army we have a pyrro destroyer SL pyro Slayer the only difference between a Slayer and a destroyer is whether or not it's wearing armor and then we have the most special most important most wonderful minifigure in the world pyro whipper pyro whipper has an incredibly special place in my heart this is the funniest minifigure in the world to me he's essentially been a mascot of the channel since the channel began if you've been following the channel for a while you'll remember many many a meme about him on the subreddit back when that was a thing and I'm sorry I'm talking about him first cuz I just love this guy so much the whole joke around py whipper started because for some reason he only came into one set and you only got one of him in that set this guy came in lots and lots and lots of sets like most of the sets this wave came with this guy and you would think he was just the only generic of that wave but no technically there was also pyro whipper who came in exactly one set and the set itself wasn't that good and literally the only difference is he uses Char's head instead of aso's head but other than that these two figures are exactly identical and when that happened along with the name pyro whipper I thought it was so funny like why why is this an exclusive minifigure so ever since then I have loved him I've adored him and also his face just looks super funny I mean look at the guy it feels like it was clearly made to go with the snake tail on Char so whenever it's used on any other minifigure it looks very silly and I just I love it and luckily this will not be the last time we see this head in this video anyway jumping back to pyro Slayer objectively I think that headpiece is a lot cooler those Flames are very obvious and I like the open mouth too like they're screaming and ready to fight the transparent eyes work a lot better on these two because they are more of the idea of like fire spirit in the show these guys don't have any personality they are just an army that fights and they both use that same armor piece that Char uses but if I take that off you can see the full torso print which is more of those mummy robes but you can see like Flames are engulfing them and that's the case around the front too pyro whipper has the same exact torso and legs though I will show you what that looks like cuz he looks very funny such a ridiculous minifigure I love this guy so much and I think the Pyro Slayer are genuinely a kind of cool villain Army this was a fairly decent way for serpentine overall Ninjago Legacy continued in 2020 however there was no new Serpentine but in 2021 they decided that was the time for new Serpentine so we did get two new Legacy snakes in 2021 we have Legacy ratla and Legacy mesmo so these are what made me turn to the Legacy venomari because these came out and I was like oh wait the Legacy snakes can actually look good because not only are these like a good Recreation of the original snakes I genuinely think these are both upgrades over these original versions starting with ratl on the left he has ditched that light grin has gone with sand blue instead which is a huge Improvement as I said at the beginning of this video I find the light gray a little bit boring like it was fine he made for a fine minifigure but I don't know he didn't like strike me as super cool this though absolutely fixes that issue but then he still has that dark blue detailing on his chest and he keeps those swirl patterns from the original minifigure though now they're a lot more geometric he also has a different colored chest now just like the Legacy venomari and Legacy Pythor head but I feel like it actually works a lot better on this guy it brings up over that light bluish gray again so it's still present on this minifigure and the coolest detail about it is he has like a false head like in that chest those like yellow markings make up a little face of a snake with fangs and everything that's such a wacky idea that I love so much and it fits with the whole idea of the hypn hypnotizing you disorienting you if a predator is trying to get these snakes maybe they'll see two faces and get confused leg print too is a great continuation of the Torso print and I like that he has a little bit of clothing too when we were going over the original Serpentine the venomari and a few of the fangire were the only ones to have like any actual gear the rest are basically naked just being covered in Scales so it's cool to see them add a little bit of gear here while also not taking away from the original design it personifies these characters a little bit more makes them feel a lot more alive back toso print is super cool I love how all the scales look unlike the venomari where the scales are just sort of randomly placed dots these feel very deliberate like yes there are little dots in there but it's got swirls too he's got like shoulder blades this looks genuinely fantastic and I'm spoiling things a little bit but I took off the head Crest and you can see he actually has a back head print which is amazing that did not need to be included at all but wow it looks great just sand blue scales where that head crust goes but I save the best for last the coolest part about this figure is the face print because oh my goodness this is a huge Improvement upon the original this face has so much more personality he looks angry his eyes look very hypnotic and that red is so much more vibrant against the dark blue than it was on the original minifigure here let me grab the original minifigure just to show you what a difference this is like look at this these are the same character those don't look the same at all but that's the thing is this still absolutely feels like ratler to me like Legacy lha doesn't feel like original lha and that's a bad thing this doesn't feel like original ratla and that's a very good thing he fits the vibe of the original hypn perfectly while also improving upon that just such an amazing minifigure I love this guy so much and it's sad that Legacy ended cuz I would have loved to see the constrict ey and the fangire in this style the only negative about this figure is the head Crest no longer has any printing on it every other instance of this pieces had some sort of printing but unfortunately it was just left out this time around normally that would bother me but the rest of this figure is so good honestly it doesn't would have been nice to see but definitely was not needed this figure is still incredible even without that and and then Legacy mesmo is also really great as well again an improvement upon the original just like ratla he has that little snake face on his chest though it's a lot more obvious on him and he also switched from Gray to sand blue which is a huge Improvement helps these guys match better and also just looks better than the light bluish gray I like that he has some gear too he's got like a little metal armor at the top a bell as well as some knee pads and that metallic armor continues around the back and that looks awesome helps break up this like scale design the red eyes on the side are very striking just like on the original figure that hypnotic pattern really stands out but then the coolest part is they redesigned the top of his head too and now it's just completely yellow which uses a lot less colors than the original but I think that's for the best the design feels a lot more deliberate this time around both of these figures are amazing some of the best Serpentine we've ever gotten and it's a shame they came at the end of legacy's life because I would have loved so much to see more like this and I hope if they ever do more Serpentine in the future they're more like this because wow these two are just so great and then technically we also had one more Legacy serpentin in 2021 this is holiday baby mesmo it's literally the exact same as the mesmo figure but with a scarf on and with short legs this guy came in the Lego employee gift in 2021 and he's a very cute little variation but I don't have much else to say about him I thought it was important to include him in the video though and finally for 2021 we have two more Minifigures where I'm not sure if they should be included in this video just like the Vermilion so on the left we have a hydro whipper or a morray guard if you want to be lame and glutenous on the right these are villains from Ninjago seabound which of course is a season that takes place underwater and I believe in the context of the show these aren't snakes these are meant to be eels that being said they share a lot of similarities with a serpentine number one that headpiece is just the py Whipper headpiece but recolored so to me personally I think I would consider the serpentine we know that pyro whippers are an ancient form of hypn who's to say some of them didn't evolve to go underwater and that's how we got the merians or alternatively maybe some opans came up to the surface and evolved to be the serpentine and that's where the serpentine originally come from I don't know we don't have the history I know that Ninjago Wiki does not categorize these guys as Serpentine but personally it would feel wrong to not include them in this video they are snake like enough so I'm going to call them Serpentine just like the Vermilion though I won't spend much time on them and sure I like them I think black and tail is a great color combination I'm really happy we got glutenous cuz he has a really cool design with the robot legs this is another case where peoples definitely would have been nice like this isn't the best representation of glutenous but I'm happy we got him at all and also I think it's so funny that the Pyro Whooper head was reused here so let me know what you guys think of the comments are these Serpentine or are they not Serpentine I'm curious to hear your thoughts personally though I would say these are closer to serpentin than the Vermilion are so take from that what you will moving into 2022 we had ninj core which introduced an entirely new faction of snakes these guys are not Cannon to the show or at least not completely they were entirely made up for the sets however there are some really cool things going on here number one we got the pyate Whipper head two more times again this was the funniest thing when it happened I couldn't believe it was reused and seab bound and then one wave later it got reused on two more Minifigures so by such I love these guys so much in the sets the guy on the left is either called Cobra mechanic a Viper flyer or Sneaky Snake depending on the set and like what accessories he has and then the guy on the right is BOA Destructor however as a community we have called this mango whipper and Geo whipper mango whipper has a funny design I like him well enough he's not like a spectacular minifigure but there's some cool things going on I like the sort of copper design both these Minifigures have obviously I find the headpiece very very funny but yeah the little touches of teal are quite cool cuz it kind of implies like the copper is oxidizing a little bit and they do sort of have that metallic bronze printing on the Torso and the legs gunmetal gray is inherently a very cool color for that torso I do like the gear he has around the back but honestly I don't have too much else to say about this guy the head's very funny I like the colors they chose the orange and ninal gray is a great color combination but they're just very goofy generic villains Geo whipper on the other hand I love because they somehow took that goofy pyro whipper head and somehow made it look cool gal gry is the main color here with orange is the secondary color and that just pops so much those orange eyes and teeth look so good against that dark head and then the actual armor and gear that he has are what make him amazing he uses the Lego Star Wars petorian guard armor and gunmetal gray and he has these giant fist pieces which I think originally came from uh what was the theme called Ultra Agents Lego Ultra Agents back in the day or maybe it was Chima Chima might have introduced them regardless super cool part that fits this guy really well and then he does use the same legs as mango whipper but his torso just makes him look significantly more armored and powerful he's got like this emblem in the center of his belt that mango whipper also has off to the side right here and if we look at the back torso print lots of that gunmal gray printing combined with that bronze printing it all comes together so nicely this is a surprisingly great minifigure I mean I like him because the headpiece is funny but even beyond that he's genuinely quite cool I like this one a lot and then this wave also introduced python Dynamite also known as demo whipper and he's literally exactly the same as Geo whipper but with short legs and no armor or fists he's very cute a cool little variation but not too much else to say we call him demo whipper for demolition because he comes in Dynamite I really don't have anything else to say about him and then finally here are the last two serantine Minifigures that have been released at least as of August 2024 these both came in the Ninjago crystallized wave in 2022 we have crystallized Ashira and crystallized Pythor crystallized Ashera is disappointing to say the least it's a fine looking minifigure but it really just isn't representative of the character at all anymore they use the same exact headpiece which was good when she had the elemental power of fire but she just doesn't have that anymore so these pink flames I guess are supposed to represent the crystals but that just doesn't really make much sense that's not how she looked in the show and again she's missing those pupils that she desperately needs that's not the worst part though if they just Reus the head I would have been like fine whatever the real issue is the tail piece cuz for some reason she still has that ghost tail though now it's black and purple instead of being orange that ghost tail piece just doesn't make any sense at all anymore I get in the first wave it was supposed to be a tail engulfed in flames it was like a fire Spirit tail and I didn't like it that much back then but I at least saw what they were going for with this one though I have absolutely no idea in crystallize she has like a normal snake tail she doesn't have a ghostly tail or anything no idea why she doesn't have a normal snake tail like Pythor has right here this just feels incredibly out of place beyond that though the colors don't match or make sense at all the crystal PO is trans Pink as you can see on the head and on the armor if this was supposed to be like engulfed in power why isn't the tail trans pink trans purple's not used pretty much anywhere else in the crystallized sets so it feels really out of place on this minifigure I assume the only reason they use this part is because this is a part that already existed anything else would have required a new recolor but yeah it just comes off as a little bit lazy to me I find that incredibly disappointing the Torso piece on this minifigure is good but it's the same torso that all the crystallized generals use in fact Pythor right here also uses it that and the armor do have a very nice design though I like the overlord symbol in the center all that pink is super striking and gunmal gray is inherently just a gray color for armor there's a full look at that with the armor removed and there's a full look at the back torso and then Pythor finally enough this is the first time he has ever actually had purple arms but the purple's not actually meant to represent his arms it's clothing that he's wearing but still cool that that finally happened the Torso is exactly the same so I'm not going to bother showing you that but he does have an exclusive tail piece which looks fantastic I love like this armored plating that hangs down but you can still see a little bit of like a scale pattern underneath and I like that it is still his original scale pattern they didn't redesign him to look more like his legacy figure it does make that Legacy figure feel extra strange that there's nothing else that matches it but yeah the pattern down here as well as the pattern on the head or still exactly the same only difference with the headpiece this time around is now that jam of the front is pink instead of blue and pythor's eyes are also now a pinkish magenta color instead of red I don't like this guy as much as some of the previous Pythor but it's still a pretty standard Pythor this is a good modern interpretation of him and he fits well in the crystallized wave overall I like this guy and he's much much better than asira is and there we go there is every single Ninjago Serpentine minifigure that has been made so far from 2012 to 2024 so far Ninjago dragons rising in 2023 and 2024 has not introduced any new Serpentine in the sets at the very least however there have been some in the show with varying levels of importance so I wouldn't be surprised if we see some more Serpentine in the sets in the coming years so yes this video will almost definitely become out of date at some point but I've been wanting to make this for years and I thought now was as good time as any let me know in the comments which Serpentine minifigure is your favorite and which ones are your least favorites personally favorites for me are very easy it would be chokun pyro whipper and snake villain but those are my favorites because they're funny and cute and because of the stories behind them if I was to pick a favor of like the coolest best design ones I don't know honestly there's a lot Tournament of elements Pythor would probably be number one I also really like Legacy mesmo Fang's really high up there for me he's still one of my favorite Minifigures of all time and honestly even Geo wher is quite good and then least favor I don't know I honestly love so many of these it's hard to say I think I'm going to have to go with Legacy lha and I hate to be like a legacy Lasha hater cuz everyone was a hater of that back in the day and I don't mind him he's far from the worst minifigure we've ever gotten but honestly so many of the other Serpentine have been so good he is probably the worst we've had beyond that though I guess maybe original Rat love for being a little bit boring but even still I even dislike that figure he's just not my favorite but yeah those are just my personal takes let me know what you guys think in the comments below I'm curious to hear your thoughts overall though I love the serpentine they're one of my favorite parts of Ninjago and I want to see more of them I know it's a meme that like oh Ninjago always dos snake villains they need to do something different but personally I love the role the seratine have in the Ninjago world and they're less important now that the merges happened and where in
