Preparation
360 Degree Security
Conduct in Objective Rally Point (ORP) before the mission.
Receiving the Mission
Platoon leader (PL) receives mission from company HQ.
PL issues a Warning Order (WARNO) to the platoon.
PL and HQ leaders create a terrain model and plan.
Optional: Set up a Rally Point (RP) between ORP and objective as a checkpoint.
Leader's Recon
PL conducts recon, brings key personnel (squad leaders, point man, RTO).
Issue 5-point contingency plan (GOTWA) to PSG and platoon:
Who's going.
When leadership is coming back.
Actions if platoon gets attacked.
Actions if leadership receives contact.
Moving Out
PL will decide formation based on terrain (typically platoon column fire team wedge).
Radio communication between PL and PSG to move platoon.
Setting Up for the Raid
Upon reaching RP, PL sets up elements for the raid:
Assault elements.
Support by fire elements.
Security elements.
Optional: Security and observation team for nearby roads.
Conducting the Attack
PL initiates attack (fires or whistle).
