AP World History Exam Preparation Strategies

we're going to be live for about the next 45 minutes or so we hope that this session is valuable for you I want to start right away with something I pinned to the chat which is our AP World History study guide pack guys for the night before the exam this is a great way to get these cheat sheets basically in two pages per unit right so the first uh you know unit one covered in in two quick Pages this with pretty pictures and pretty maps and things is available for you as well this is in the chat it covers the entire course in a very intentionally superficial way so I want to highlight that feature that's available for you um throughout our session I want also want to encourage you um if you like this session if you like us at Marco learning go ahead and like this video subscribe to our Channel we have the chat open here we're going to post this recording to our Channel when it's all over what we're going to be focusing on today is doing multiple choice questions together we'll preview some free responses at the end of course at the end of this session at 8 Eastern hler is going to be going live on his channel for units seven eight and N I believe so um shout out to uh Steve heimler and all the AP World History teachers who are helping students out tonight let's get into it everyone I want to throw you into the middle of some multiple choice questions for AP World History so um and I'm going to make sure that this looks right on my screen um and um you can let me know in the chat if you um are um uh if you have any questions okay so one of the things about AP History exams whether it's AP World History or AP Euro or us is they have these stimulus passages this could be like in this question here like charts and graphs could be a text like this could be um an image like this what's weird about the history exams is these were initially intended these passages to very much relate to the questions and involve Source analysis they kind of don't at all um and so one of the things about this is you want to make sure that you don't spend too much time inside these actual passages it's kind of an amateur move to overread and overstudy the passages when you've really got these questions so I'm going to skip ahead to the multiple choice questions and do these um and I saw a question in the chat from Fear the dragon what do I what do I do if I don't know anything that's exactly what we're going to cover in tonight uh in tonight's session so these are questions you probably have never seen these are from Marco learning practice tests um I'm going to read question seven aosta statement that Spanish people are quote very greedy of this chocolate what okay uh most directly refers to the Spanish Empire's attempt to so notice this question isn't really a question this is another characteristic of AP History exams like AP World History is they'll have these sort of open-ended like all of the following are reasons that over the river and through the woods To Grandmother's House We Go are and you're like wait what's the actual question flipping these questions into question language can help you on tomorrow's test so aosta says this thing what does it refer to about span the Spanish Empire's attempt so um so Spain um so Spanish Empire attempted to do something what's this thing about greedy chocolate and how does that link to it so by creating some some um some you know rephrasing it in your own language you can get control over this so the Spanish now we could try to as some of you were doing um the uh yes you could try to get answer it without looking at the passage but let's just take a look the Spanish are greedy about this chocolate okay which comes to and notice look at the language here drinky with a c nope um the spell check did not work here in 16th century uh translations of this but let's see um the Spanish where is this um are greedy I don't see greedy they're very greedy of this chocolate um oh yeah they are very greedy of this chocolate so I found it and it means that they are doing something with acquiring this so are they creating economic treaties with American political leaders regular Spanish people want to drink chocolate so therefore they have treaties it doesn't make any sense what I'm looking for when I do multiple choice questions this is critical guys on the AP History exam do not look for the correct answer look for wrong answers and a is a piece of garbage so I'm going to get rid of it I'm G to cross that answer out so let me just grab my annotation tool a doesn't make any sense because this isn't about treaties this is about being very greedy of chocolate which people want B bolster its International reputation by establishing settler colonies I don't know what that means I'm just going to leave it since I'm looking for wrong answers C teach the American population the principles of Christianity I like the principles of Christianity but very greedy of this chocolate ain't one of them so C is out D exploit the natural resources of the Americas uh for economic profit H maybe what do you all think in the chat I love that by the way everyone has adopted drinky as the spelling um of drink it's I've got it between B and D it's to me I want to hear what answers are it's less important whether you get the correct answer right now and more important that you get rid of all the bad answers that's a really critical piece of this whole operation here because the smartest test takers in the world are the people who know how to get answers right and wrong and I'm seeing in the answer choices the D is the correct uh answer and that is of course correct d is the correct answer because the other ones are wrong and therefore for its left standing so let me clear this out let's try question number eight so just zooming out everyone we're a few minutes into our stream and I want to point out what I'm talking about one you don't need to read all this stuff if you will not get points for reading anything on tomorrow's test gonna let that s for a second you will not get any points for reading if you have a very high quality kind of reading if your reading game is a big W if you're what what are the what are the phrases I wrote them down earlier something about your Riz game or skibbidy or whatever if you're good at reading on the test it's not going to translate to points what's going to translate to points is getting questions right and so therefore you want to make sure that your reading is in the service of getting questions right not reading for fun or reading on your own when you are doing questions you want to translate them out of college board nonsense talk yapping into plain English and on number eight we get something like this um a historian would most likely use this passage to research which of the following developments now here this is an overall view so I'm going to leave that to the side aosta preference in the Americas uh best illustrates the fact that Maritime empires in this period often relied on and then I have this one um which of the following was the most significant um sorry I'm just seeing the chat which the foll is the most significant long-term effect um of the contact between the Spanish and the americ so we have the overall Trends this is where you're reading is going to help you get questions right so the cheap use of this cocoa is in a drink which they call chocolate whereof they make great account foolishly and without reason for it is loathsome to such as not acqu are not as are not acquainted with it having a schewe or froth that is very unpleasant to taste if they be not well conceited thereof again if you get any weird language um College Board yapping as some of you are pointing out don't let that get in the way right kind of steer around it they they use this chocolate drink it's very much esteemed among the Indians whereever they Feast noble men as they pass through their country the Spaniards are greedy of it they say it makes diverse sorts of it some hot some cold yeah they make Pace thereof which they say is good for the stomach and against the caterie whatever that is so what could a historian use this for wrong answers only in the chat what are the wrong answers for how a historian could use the source we just read a the efforts of indigenous American populations to prevent European influence in their economic systems the ways that plants animals and diseases moved across the Atlantic and the Colombian Exchange the demographic effect of European colonization on the population of the Americas or the influence of the Atlantic slave trade on the production of cash crops on plantations in the Americas so we want to take a minute and figure out what we think the wrong answer to this question is wrong aners only in the chat and what I'm seeing in the chat are things like a which is a terrible garbage answer so get rid of it right the're the Europeans are prevent the indigenous are preventing European influence no the Europeans are consuming chocolate some of you are saying get rid of D the influence of the slave trade there are no slaves in this passage I don't know what drinky with the c means but I know it has nothing to do with slavery and so now I have it between B and C and as we look at the correct answer the correct answer to this question is going to be C this is about moving Goods across the Atlantic chocolate chocolato in naad is moving from the the uh from Mexico and from the indigenous populations of the Americas across to Europe other goods are coming from Europe over the Colombian Exchange we all know this so for those of you joining by the way um thank you remember that where this stream is going to last for about another 40 minutes or so Steve heimler is going live on heimler's history in about 45 minutes he's going to review the last units of the course which I know some of you really need help with we're reviewing a practice test and going over multiple choice questions at least right now hopefully we have some time to look at those new um uh rules for the free response questions and take a look at dbqs and remember we have um remember that I have the reserve the right to put people into timeout which I'm doing um and if you like this video press that like button um and let's take a minute here for number nine okay it says acosta's pre presence in the Americas Best illustrates the fact that Maritime watch these scary words it just means seafaring like on the on the ocean on the see empires in this period often relied on so what did these Empires rely on they relied on a Casta who's aasta a Spanish Jesuit missionary who traveled in Peru and Mexico in this time period so this is really interesting that we've got aasta who is a Jesuit missionary I don't even need to read the passage I'm going to guess it's going to be something about Jesuit missionaries a members of the royal family to provide guidance how do I know he's royal family nobody said he's Royal Prince or something he's a Costa he's some missionary I have no evidence for this um okay B methods of diplomacy that made use of local officials is he a local official no he is a member of the clergy bureaucrats bureaucrats are government officials who do paperwork hit C the some of these questions guys have very little to do with the text that's given and sometimes they correct answer is hiding out in in titles and in these subtext and in these other things so so I want you to realize that as you move through multiple choice questions you need to move with the confidence of realizing that this isn't about memorizing 10,000 words or what you know or whether heimler shouted out your teacher or whether you like finished the whole finish the whole AP World curriculum this is about moving through the questions with confidence and speed um and yes um to to beatric as Beatrice is pointing out Bros cooking and I am cooking because I'm reading questions I'm translating them and that's why all of you will cook tomorrow and not be cooked um or something I don't know everyone keeps saying they're cooked or not cooked I don't I can't keep up 10 which of the following was the most significant long-term effect of the contact between the Spanish and the Americas Americans so wait uh before I get to any answer choices this is another strategy don't let them infect your brain with their college board viruses like get a grip of the question in your own words first so um which of the following was the most significant long-term effect of the cont contact so I need something that's longterm that's significant and its contact between the Spanish and the Americas something about the exchange of goods something about chocolate something about other things a the gradual decline of Spanish control of the Atlantic trade uh maybe doesn't feel like um that that makes any sense Spain does decline and England and the Dutch rise but that's like because of the contact of the Spanish and the Americans described in the passage no this is all crazy talk B the development of joint stock companies to mitigate the economic risk where are the joint stock companies it's all lies detected here there's no this is there's no joint stock companies no no patience for this C the unintentional spread of diseases to Europe resulting in substantial population loses do I have anything about C now uh the let's see there there's uh I don't see anything related to C so I'm GNA get rid of that too and then D the creation of unequal political and economic relations you know I don't love D this answer choice I think that it doesn't quite add up but here's what's true a B and C are garbage so D is corre correct fun fact for tomorrow remember guys you have 55 minutes 55 questions that's one minute per question you don't have time if you spend some you know questions are like 93 seconds and some are 35 fine but you don't have four minutes to waste so once you've eliminated bad choices we don't have any information here about decline we don't have any information here about joint stock companies I don't have any information about diseases it has to be D um good I want I'm I've got my um chat open here I hope that this session is valuable for you if it is press that like button let us know what Marco learning how we can help you remember this week everyone we're going live in 18 different subjects um and so we're about two-thirds of the way through we're going to be going live um in in a bunch of other subjects as well I want to get to an image um let's see um that was a boring image let's go to a fun one no poem no um lame boring there's a map h no okay here's an image okay so images questions 36 and 37 refer to the image below and I want to um okay so I got this image it says an overcrowded Refugee train used to transport uh people during the partition of India 1954 so I like to take this um this caption and let this guide me through a question so tomorrow everyone whether it's a short answer question or a multiple choice question let the captions let the text guide you um and yeah I already got rid of chish so goodbye um but yeah and by the way I appreciate all the love um in the in the chat and all the support again if you like this um video press that like button stay in touch with us we've got Marco coming on soon and I have AP exam Rose may or may not be starting tonight but an overcrowded Refugee train during the partition of India so I remember with the partition of India India and Pakistan become two different nations with Pakistan being a majority Muslim nation and and India becoming a majority Hindu Nation during the postcolonial kind of gandi moment of of Indian history so 36 the image is best understood in the context of which of the following so let's translate this into plain English the image is understood best understood in the context of um which of the following so what context helps me understand this image okay well the partition of India postcolonialism with Britain I'm G to try to predict answer choices um that help me get this a governments undertaking social reform efforts to address the concerns of their constituents um I don't know I don't feel like governments are undertaking social what kind of social reform is this no one's got a seat belt okay so probably not a b governments redrawing political boundaries to address the challenges of decolonization it's so obvious that a question about the partition of India is about decolonization postcolonialism that this is likely to be right or at least I'm going to keep it see governments promoting population redistribution policies to better Finance State programs so let's move populations around to fund things H I don't know um doesn't feel like it so I'm thinking a is no and I'm thinking C is no D governments expanding the number of their political allies to create Pol political stability does this look like political stability to you I'm just seeing a lot of people riding very unsafely on trains I'm seeing a frantic movement of people across borders it's B the correct answer to this question is B because even before I looked at the image and even before I saw the answer choices I knew this was about decolonization so the correct answer to question 36 notice the techniques I'm using I'm using the captions to help me I'm translating the questions into plain English I'm looking for wrong answers and I'm moving with confidence I want you to tell me in the chat right now all capital letters I am confident by by talking into existence you will manifest itself it will manifest itself as true for you right B you're not cooked you you can also type in I am not cooked in the chat right I am competent when you go through questions I want you to cut through them with a scalpel with machete inflict violence on these questions because you can conquer them and Destroy them they're not actually that hard number 37 the partition of India was most directly a result of which of the following so what caused look at this confidence look at it beautiful I see heart emojis popping up I see I am not cooked I see likes I see Marco who's at my feet he'll come on if people remain positive and people are not booked um good so we we've got this the partition of India was most directly result of which of the following what actually kind of caused this partition of India a the Hindu Revival under the British Raj India was created out of a Hindu Revival under Britain no it feels like India and Pakistan were created under the partition the Indian independence movement led by Gandhi ding ding ding like that that rings a bell for me maybe you didn't study that as much in class maybe your class emphasized India a little bit less but that's something I know even apart from AP World History the use of SEO soldiers in the British colonial army maybe or something I don't know the loss of Indian Territory after World War I so this is nine years after World War II is over but that's not it the correct answer to this question for 37 is in fact B look at all of you a lot of you are guessing these correctly in the chat um India did not by the way we know that D can't be right because India didn't have territory to really lose whatever role it played in World War II it wasn't being bomb by or invading other countries in a big way compared to other ones so a lot of people are confident a lot of you can tackle the multiple choice questions because you realize these passages are not actually that related to the questions this is not a reading test one thing I want you all to promise me you're going to do tomorrow if you get a DBQ about some very obscure thing you're not going to melt down I want you to type in the chat I will not melt down um this is a really important thing the tone and the attitude of confidence but also that not freaking out when it gets a little bit tough um because um the thing that that amateurs do on the AP World History test is they see a DBQ that's very specific about the Protestant Reformation about the Mongols or about the Mexican Revolution and they're like I didn't learn this it's all in the documents it's all there for you look at all of you not melting down I love the positive vibes I love this group you guys are a great group best group we've had this week um look at this uh do not like I can't read this language you don't need to read this language we're going to tackle one or two of these and we're going to take a look at some free response it says a roadside sign in Rwanda which reads they translated it for you rwandans are victims of genocide ideology and all its roots so this is clearly since it's a photograph it's modern and I've got only two questions which of the following best explains the changes in the population of Rwanda from 1990 to 1995 and the historical represented by Rwanda acts of ethnic violence is most similar to which of the following so this requires you to know some outside information not the Randa language we know we're talking about the 1990s we know we're talking about the story of what happened Randa in the 1990s which was truly devastating 42 which of the following best explains the changes let's say you don't know a lot about Rwanda you did not cover it in class right let's see what we can eliminate uh the lasting I say the acts of genocide committed against the tootsie people maybe you don't know anything about this a lot of you are saying it's a so we're going to leave that the lasting impact of demographic losses in World War I that's not 1990 to 1995 y'all know when World War I was put it in the chat what are the years of World War I in Europe and then you can also Mark what year the United States joined and then what year it ended right because it's a very specific moment it's a very specific shock to the modern system but it's not 1990 to 1995 spoiler alert the emergence of new census taking methods rwandans are victim of genocide uh guys it's in the caption this is about genocide not about census no the development of new medical Technologies which one show me where's the medical technology people right and there it is 1914 to 1918 and then 1919 is the Treaty of versa so the correct answer is 1914 to 1918 or 19 the United States enters in 1917 so getting some of that periodization look at how many smart people are in this chat right now look at how many of you know that uh the the general rates or range of dates that's involved here number 43 the historical Trend represented by Rwanda acts of ethnic violence is most similar to which of the following so Rwandan acts of ethnic violence whatever I'm talking about needs to be an example of ethnic violence so a the Nazi killing of Jews in in the Holocaust was that ethnic violence yes B the high death told in Americas after European contact was that ethnic violence perhaps partially some people died due to due to ethnic violence the vast majority of people died of disease so that's out see the indiscriminate firebombing of urban centers during the Spanish Civil War it's the Spanish Civil War they're not killing each other over ethnicity the the use of military force to compel the panamanians to build the Panama Canal that's economic so this is another look at the look at this all the a work that is happening A+ for everyone in the chat a is the correct answer so Jay-Z TV just said please give us a hard question guys this is what AP World History is it's mostly a mix of easy medium questions a few hard ones so the AP World History test is going to be easy for you tomorrow when you get a chart like this you're going to look for Trends you're going to see the number of Gunners increase the number of artillery carts increase and then decrease here you're going to and weapon Smith total you're going to be able to follow Trends because you have the basic skills to read these things the basic skills to interpret images and read captions the the skills to read texts as well you're going to kill it tomorrow you're going to do amazing work what I want to do with our last um uh set of points and by the way thanks this is really good um Isabella's asking question John what if I really don't remember the years this is not a test about years this is a test about your ability to work with the documents and stimuli and things that you're given not to worry about these other things you're going to do great um and uh yeah and for those of you asking um this session is going to last about 20 more minutes heimler's going to be going live right after with some unit reviews that drill into content remember of course he's got tons of videos on his channel we have reviews where we walk through dbqs and a lot of test taking strategies on our channel so thank you all thank you all for the likes and remember that our study guide pack which is um sorry it's right here is in the chat for you I'm going to put that link as well um and I'm going to sort of it's It's pinned to the top of the chat but I want to make sure that you all have it this study guide pack breaks down those individual units um so um you'll see these these the sort of overview of all the things I want to say it's the night before the test you are not going to spend all your time focusing on um the uh learning everything I would grab one or two things couple questions I'm getting in the chat here too um can we be can we do things without documents remember all multiple choice questions are linked to a document or image or chart like this and um remember then um that that all of you have the skills that you've developed over the course this year to help you do this I want to move into the saqs and just give you all some fresh kind of test prep tips you know this but I want to empower you to do well tomorrow first you'll see you're going to get these these short answer questions do not do not write 17 sentences people you're not more is not more when more is just yapping more is more when you answer the specific question um and you and you look at um what you're being given and you answer it precisely for example explain one historically specific example from this time period which followed a different pattern from the one in the example described above so you you've got this passage you're looking for something that's different in this earlier time period or identify and explain one of Lamont's historical context and positionality that likely shaped her view of economic imperialism so something about this author that shaped her point of view um yes and Ellen just typed in more is not more when more is just yapping right here's an example by the way fun fact just a little bit about me my training is as a medieval historian and so I learned about the um the this this is exactly the sort of thing I did from late 13th century chess boards and we know that chess was a really popular sport in the Middle Ages not sport but game because we have we have whole books Li so identify one way in which the interaction depicted in the image reflects political changes uh in the networks of exchange from 1200 to 1400 what I want you to remember all all of you is when you see something like this and you're like I don't know chess bro I can't do this yes you can because this isn't about Chess and this isn't about this guy with the Sword and the fingertips and this other guy with his fingers and his poy toes it's about political changes in afro Eurasia so one of the things you're looking for is um what is a specific political change you can talk about about royalty about interaction about interactions between Christians and Muslims about trade routs that talks about political Chang here we have one on social changes so we can line up both of these this is actually the same question twice so you look up something you you think of something specific and political and think of something specific and social but I want you to think more broadly than the image itself this isn't about the fact that this is a tent with a stylized Arabic at the top in which um two men uh are playing this game of chest in different garbs and different head coverings and different kinds of beards so um so when you look at political change and social change you're you're grabbing onto something specific who can tell me something yeah so actually Sebastian you have Silk Roads spreading Christianity so we could talk about the Silk Roads and interactions between Muslims and Christianity we could talk about um uh let's see let's see real quick yeah so Beatrice your point this one this isn't about Chess that's the big mistake a a couple years ago we had the DBQ on the Mexican Revolution and everyone's freaking out I never studied the Mexican Revolution the question about the Mexican Revolution was not about the Mexican Revolution it was about the documents that they gave you so use these prompts use these questions as a springboard to push something through that you know about right if you know something about the period from 1200 to 1400 you leverage that experience now Natalie's asking what if we know nothing about the laq so that's the saqs a little bit I want to get to the to the DBQ for just a moment this DBQ is this evaluate the extent to which Enlightenment ideas change the relationship between rulers and their subjects in the 18th century so in the chat what is The Enlightenment in a nutshell real quick and by the way thank you for all the love and the hearts and the likes if you like this video press that like button go ahead subscribe to our Channel let us know how we can um help you out at Marco learning one thing um I do want to point out to you while you're typing the definition of enlightenment in the chat on the markco learning Instagram account we have a reminder for you all about this year's dbqs in 2024 we have some new rules you only have to use four of the seven documents on this test so here we have seven documents you're only responsible for using four if you use more that's great but you only have to use four not six secondly if you are doing an leq you only have to provide Source you only have to provide outside evidence for two sources not three and if you're doing sourcing like hip happy the the uh you know context for a particular document you only have to do that on two of these documents not three anymore and finally they've made the complexity point the so-called unicorn point a lot easier to learn so back to my question here what is this whole business about the enlightenment it really helps to know this as outside information you might be able to figure it out but I'm seeing this real quick this the Scientific Revolution is a change in Western thinking and eventually Global thinking because we move away from tradition and the ancient world and the classics and religion and we move to like the scientific method and observation as defining the future of of knowledge the enlightenment is the next step it's applying that to political science to society how do we organize our society not on tradition not in the Bible necessarily not in these other things but how do we organize Society on rationalism natural rights and so Enlightenment ideas are things that emphasize the um the social contract between the rulers and the ruled that um that if there is a God maybe he set the world in motion and didn't isn't actively involved in it that people are endowed with natural rights like life liberty and the pursuit of happiness the sort of things that formed the United States of America are Enlightenment ideals so a lot of you know this that's why um Lotus eater says y'all are cooked but you a lot of you knew what the enlightenment was and you're not cooked so you're great so again this is not as simple as Enlightenment replaces religion but it adds a new way of thinking in which individual dignity and worth is not merely being created in the image of God it is also or instead about natural rights so so here we get an image yikes bad skin um oh my gosh I'm GNA just move belong to something else it's really gross okay so we get John Lock's Treatise of government we have Jean jacqu rouso these are very Western oriented sources the US declaration of independence the French declaration Edmond Berg and then we get this Source from Napoleon so this is unusual we've seen this on some AP World exams where we get these things that like are oriented more a little bit more towards the West the US and Europe though generally of course the exam GL goes Global when you're working through the document since you only have to use four of them you want to think about which documents you want to get rid of if this document is too complicated and dense get rid of it um so real quick I gotta saw a question here how do we source for the leq you're not really sourcing for the leq you're actually just citing outside evidence one tip I want to give you all when you see this set of questions whatever it is whatever is entailed with this you want to make sure that you go to the essay not the essay that you like the most or the one that you think you studied the most most but the one about which you have the most to say for example we've got the period from 1200 to 1450 different factors led to the emergence and spread of Overland trade routes we have this one religion was used to legitimize political Authority we have this one about communism and capitalism during the Cold War let me know in questions 237 which ones you feel the most confident in you can say two three four or two and four or three and four which ones do you feel the most confident in for how you can prepare for this exam great um and avanes has this question you keep pushing which is the uh finding key terms and how they're linked yes part of what you're doing is linking what you're given on the test to knowledge that you have great so a lot of you are picking four as something four easy four is easy bro I would use two now what you need to do on test day is instead of you don't can't do this for more than three or four minutes make sure that you spend some time and figure out what you're actually good at what can you do um because sometimes you um you think you know the subject or it's fresh and then you actually want to uh pull this down to like the thing that you have the most substance for remember you are now being only scored and requiring two pieces of evidence you still have to provide a context two to three sentences that set up the prompt at the beginning right that have specific Rich relevant details you want to make sure you have your thesis normally right at the end of the first paragraph thesis points relatively easy to get go ahead and get that um when you when you use those relevant examples use at least two I think three or four can help and then finally make sure that you're addressing at some point or another some comparison between two systems a set of causes and effects or continuity and change over time that's going to help you do fulfill that point which you can do very well on the six points of the long essay question Without Really writing an incredible essay you do not need a conclusion concluding paragraph you do not need lots of things and for keshi fan who doesn't know um the what the cold war is you might be able to get a really good score in this exam without having gotten this late right you should know it and that can help but think about it unless your DBQ is about the Cold War um you know you you should be able to steer your steer your ship around this so the bottom line everyone is when you go into the test tomorrow trust your judgment trust what you know no you've probably never seen this scary looking weird looking image from Hobs Leviathan and you may not see it on the test tomorrow but you have seen all sorts of sources Maps charts graphs texts that can help you remember everyone we've got a study guide pack for you I'm going to put this in the chat um which is here and this is pinned to the chat go ahead and click on this link for me this is going to give you a chance to review any of those units like cold war things that you feel weak about um and so real quick I've got a few more minutes and actually one of the questions I got here was from n here if I'm saying your name right can we review more multiple choice that's what I want to do I'm going to take us back to multiple choice and give you all a chance to um ask questions of me specifically I also um let me see real quick let's get back to this test sorry I'm going to zoom back out and let's take a look at some graphs and things because this is something we didn't do um so
