Connecting the Computer to the Telephone Line
Equipment Needed
: British Telecom plug, modem, telephone line
Steps
:
Remove the telephone jack from the telecom socket.
Plug the telephone jack into the modem.
Connect another wire from the modem to where the telephone was plugged in.
Switch on the modem.
Process
:
The computer prompts to log on and directs to call the main Prestel computer.
After the computer answers, switch the modem and replace the receiver.
Enter a personal password to access the opening screen.
Micronet
