how do you get mechanics like peterb Vico flexie all of these best fraggers in the world right now well the answer is you probably can't most people can't because they are the best in the world and how can you achieve something that's equally as good as those well there's going to be a select few people who can but you yourself will have your own individual skill ceiling somewhere when it comes to getting as good mechanics as humanly possible so how do most Pros actually reach their own skill ceiling when it comes to mechanics well most people quite frankly just play the game they play a lot and the main things they do is play a lot of creative with really really good players which will essentially force you to have good mechanics if you don't you'll probably die and lose a lot of the fights so if you're looking at yourself and you're like man I do that too I play so much Zone Wars I play all of the One V ones I play it on a rank but my mechanics are still kind of iffy they're nowhere near some of the best Pros in the world well the answer to that is maybe you just don't have the genetics for it now what this means for most people because you know the average person is average for a reason is that just playing isn't going to be enough if you think about this in terms of a lot of musical instruments you want to play guitar you want to be as good as possible there's some people just pick it up and they're just incredible within a short period of time some people have to practice they have to put a lot of hours into actually learning scales practicing them different picking techniques all of this kind of thing and the same thing applies to getting really good mechanics and aim and basically everything in fortnite some people are just going to be genetically really good and others are going to need to train for it so if you are someone who needs to train for it like almost everyone there is how should you actually go about maximizing your own individual mechanics personally so the first point is to master the basics you don't want to learn the basics you want to absolutely Master them so these for example would be things just like boxing up doing 90s ramping up on people Sprint jumps tarping side jumps all of these small little really simple mechanics that players have been using for years and build fights and all these other things you need to master these if you can't do these whilst sprinting whilst Under Pressure if they're sloppy you need to improve these so how do you actually Master these well there you can take another example from something like a musical instrument let's go back to the guitar analogy here if you want to learn to rip a scale as fast as possible you could either go slow and practice it perfectly and build that up over time now you can apply that same thing to getting good at mechanics say for example I want to learn to Triple edit I could go into here and I could change this to 70% movement speed and now I can really slowly practice all of the individual mechanics it takes to do a triple edit the order in which I want to do it awesome and I still messed it up and then over time I could maybe increase the speed where I was practicing this okay now we're going to 80% and I go okay am I confident doing oh I've opened that again my bad okay am I confident doing a triple edit at 80% speed nice I am okay and then over time you slowly build up or the opposite is where you go okay I I I can't do triple edit cleaning I'm just going to keep trying 100% can I do this really well this is obviously now I've just managed to smoke a bunch of these triple edits let's go yeah you can either essentially start slow and build up or you can kind of push yourself past where it is now what do I actually recommend you do my personal recommendation is that you actually start slow master all of these mechanics at a low pace and actually take your time to do this don't rush them when you're boxing up if you're practicing boxing up for example you don't need to just go I'm I'm Mong I'm going to create as many Bo as possible and be as sloppy as you can literally just go slow try and be controlled about it at the same time try and make sure every build placed is correct and intentional here this will mean that basically when you come to actually do it in game you're not going to mess up as much because you've mastered this same thing with 90s you don't need to go super crazy you don't need I'm going to Sprint going as quick as I can no you just need to make sure you have 90s basic Master don't try and do it with Sprint to start with just try and ensure you're really good at doing these basic 90s same thing with things like ramping side jumps same thing into other '90s you know don't worry about doing them fast just worry about doing them accurately over and over and if again if if you're slow and you suck maybe you're about at n maybe you're about at like side jumps as I have been and I've started to work on them a lot take it slowly see where you need to line yourself up to learn these learn them perfectly before learning them fast make sure you know how to do these every single time so if you haven't mastered things like boxing up 90s ramping Sprint jumps tarping side jumps all of those other things I just mentioned there if you are not already incredibly good at doing these don't worry about getting incredibly fast mechanics focus on on mastering these first then we move on to the next step and which is also something you can try at the same time which is learning to shoot build so why I call shoot building is is is pretty obvious the reason you learn those other mechanics first is because all of those apply to other situations in game so shoot building example of you shoot and whilst holding down that shoot button you place something to build obviously shoot build building is so incredibly useful because this is how Pros actually finish fights quickly say there's a player on the other side here I go for a bit say if I just want to I see him here and I'm like oh I could piece him up and I place this wall and I full box him okay cool awesome I've not hit any damage onto him yet so he's still 200 hp so now although I have the pieace now at a good angle I still have to fight him he can trade back a lot of damage and I falling off oops but in the same situation had I just taken a peak shot bu then box him he's already weak maybe I hit him 100 then I just finish the fight quickly again and shoot building is super super useful for every single scenario because there's so many different ways if someone's below you shoot floor build shoot floor build maybe 90 shoot floor build shoot floor build obiously my timing is wrong with a pump but yeah all of these different ways is what's going to allow you to open the shot uh open the fight with big damage and then piece people up see if similar thing right similar example someone's down here let me put a cone there say if someone's standing on this cone and you can shoot full box like that way so I've already Dam damage them once before piecing them up a second time so all the basics then learning to shoot build at the same time is Super useful the next way to do this is to incorporate sprinting with all of this now this is where things get really complicated in particular when it comes to things like 90s and a lot of people are really not very good at Sprint 0 but you have to master how to be able to do this properly because this is actually the fastest way to build generally now you can see we've mastered the basics so we're learning to build up the speed of our building too now I'm not good at tarping while sprinting you can do it while sliding I actually have not learned that yet but doing all of those other Basics whilst learning to Sprint is so important and that's because a lot of shots are like this you'll Sprint side jump take a shot and then catch yourself so you'll see why we're starting to build up all of these basic mechanics because you're trying to learn to get as clean as possible not only with the basics but also sprinting and whilst shoot building at the same time next part here is editing now editing is really interesting because this is something that a lot of people mess up and there's a lot of really small things you can do to make your editing way more consistent the first is actually how much you move your mouse at all so say I'm going to do a top row edit here actually let's let's do the uh bottom right instead so you can see say I do it on this wall here when I select this tile that I could do a massive obviously I'm exaggerating massive Crosshair Movement Like This wow it's like awful and if there's someone on the other side of that wall look how much like my camera is shaking like it'll be hard to track them as I do that with my eyes however you only actually need to be as close as possible in these little Corners to select that right so it's you really need a tiny amount of movement you can see how much easier it would be to track someone if they were through the other side of the wall so that's why in this for example I put uh these on here so you can just practice this now these little Crosshair movements will help you out so much more rather than say if you're you know if you're stuck right up in the Box here and you're doing this it's really hard whereas all you know if you know where your Crosser is meant to go I'm not doing the moving part of this map very well but if you're if you know where your Crosser has got to go you can actually practice that really well and the same thing applies to like every single edit see I'm going to do a top row this is one I'm still personally really bad at but you know a lot of people just do this they go a they they start way too far to the side and then they really overshoot as well just to make sure they get the whole row and again it's the same thing how much is my screen shaking there whereas if I just do it there where I'm selecting the correct tiles right on the inside of that tile to the next one you're going to be way more efficient on that and that'll actually allow you to do things like double edits triple edits way faster when you try to speed up your mechanics later the next part is just not messing up your edits so the easiest way to be consistent and not mess up your edits is to do this drill here where what you're doing is you select obviously then you select the tile and confirm that's how you edit right select du du du du now you're not in here doing this that's not going to serve you any any benefit you're not trying to learn how to double edit really quickly what you need to do is try and select the edit and then select the tile at the same time and wait so you can see how when I'm selecting the edit I'm like instantly doing this this is something I saw on a Raider video ages ago and this is something I really really like so you can see every single time I select the edit I'm selecting the tile immediately after then confirm now you want to do the same thing on walls as well so building this muscle mem is really important so same thing select tiles edit and same thing we're remembering to at the good Crosshair placement that we just talked about as well so you can see I'm waiting a second before I confirm and doing this if you learn this drill over and over again you'll practice such good muscle memory now when you're actually in a fight you don't necessarily want to be this slow on your edits like you don't want to hold this just and then confirm and shoot them every single time but building this muscle memory will actually ensure that you're really consistent when it comes to editing and you're not going to mess up the timing of pressing the edit then selecting the tiles and then confirming the edit afterwards the next part in the editing section is why I call Window coding now this is essential muscle memory to learn and there's two different ways you need to learn this so window coding is literally editing a wall and placing a cone afterwards now it doesn't matter about which edit you really do the mechanics are all really the same but the fast EST way you can learn this and keep this muscle memory down is just to do it with a window so the two different ways you need to learn this so this is of course very important for a multitude of different reasons so say you're you're you know now this is important for a multitude of different places so say you're high Walling you got a wall here you land here you want to piece up through regardless you have to learn um I'm messing up so this is important for a multitude of different reasons of course if I grab if I shoot and grab a wall I need to be able to edit and place a cone through and doing it with a window again is the fastest way to do this if you're practicing a bunch of high walls things like this messed it up there but maybe you're you're practicing different ways to get you know peace control on them just learning the best way to get Windows is so important now the way I like to practice this is exactly what I'm doing here you see I'm just basically walking to the right whilst placing a wall floor wall you can full box if you really want but just doing this is important and it'll bring up the good muscle memory of doing things like that high walls placing a window and a cone through and this is really useful muscle memory overall generally but it's important because this is the exact same thing you do when you're doing obviously any edit and placing a cone afterwards so the two different ways you need to learn this is firstly with your blueprints out so say if I've just placed a wall then I'm going to edit and Cone straight afterwards and then switch back to shotgun the other way is to do it from your shotgun itself because a lot of the times if you're a sitting boxed up here there's a player on your wall you might want to do something quick like that when you want to edit and go through so learning quickly how to edit and Cone is really important so yeah learning the window cone is incredibly important to master for obviously a lot of different scenarios and basically it's just the fundamentals of Peace control to be honest with you also forgot to say on the sprinting uh one good thing is if you go to a map like this one which has Infinite Sprint so in here you can just turn the infinite Sprint on this actually allows you to practice things like these jump shots way way more consistently over and over again next point of the editing section is also like a piece section but you really want to focus on getting good peeking now in here I have a specific Peak mode for this where say if I'm going to go into a random drill here if this bot it'll shoot me if it's picked onto a good angle so of course anytime you're selecting an edit you don't want to just edit with your face out like this you also want to make sure you're hidden behind so that you have a good angle again something similar to this let me probably mess this one up cuz I'm really bad at wall resetting yep now I have a right hand Peak and I still managed to make a peak that was bad there same again so this is something again that's really fundamental to practice just always ensuring that you're doing things that keep you protected at the same time a horrible piece there can I go something crazy here no yep so I'm still managed to keep myself hidden there without getting shot so again peing next thing is super important this is something that will allow you to take zero damage and building these fundamentals in particular doing say level piece control deals like this where you're actually building really good muscle memory is absolutely key to getting really really good mechanics the final basic that I think is a requirement to master is unsurprisingly wall replacing now if all you do is free build you probably won't have very good muscle memory for this and there's a lot of different ways you can wall replace like you can double swing which is most importantly not very good but for beginners and people who haven't actually got like mastered wall rep placing yet just doing this is really important I'm just editing the you don't have to edit the cod as I am but the bot was in the middle so double pick learning this and again learning this is just incredibly important and again we're now learning this is incredibly important and we're still applying all of the same principles we did with every other mechanics we're trying to do good Crosshair placement here where I'm doing a small efficient edit trying not to you know edit like this and go crazy I'm doing what is the window cone but essentially obviously I'm learning to place the code immediately after editing there obviously I'm not doing a window I could hear inside instead and we're also learning to pull out our shotgun very quickly as well which is super useful now most of the time you don't actually want to learn to double swing a wall like this because if you do this against a good player you're going to die so there's different ways you could practice wall replacing which are really important as well so a lot of Pros what you'll see you can't do this with a gatekeeper because there's not enough shots in it which is important to know but if they playing the pump or you can also do Sovereign but it does a little bit less charger damage is building up the muscle M to pump pickaxe spray replace cone and then switch back to shotgun so it it what that looks like full speed while I mess it up pump pickaxe spray replace Coe I only messed up a little bit nice try again so you can see how like practicing something like this uh will get you way better at wall at like wall replacing wall to wall you can also do it in other ways like that where for example I pickaxed uh what I do there did I pickaxe first yeah pickaxe first pump shotgun Because by the time you've done this you just shoot your shotgun again now the reason you want to shotgun first for the most point is because once you get onto someone's wall very very frequently what they're going to do is that they're going to just try and edit on you and take a shot so by placing your placing the Crosshair on them when you shoot you might be able to hit them back switch into that and pickaxe uh basically destroys the wall afterwards almost guaranteed so yeah you'll notice this muscle memory is incredibly useful to learn you also need to master doing this from a distance so one taway Blueprinting so just doing exactly what I'm doing here uh the blue if you don't know for example blueprint editing will allow you to grab something from further away if I don't have my blueprints out can't edit that wall by selecting wall I can then do it so mastering things like this are so so much more useful than learning anything that's like Fast whatsoever so how do you actually get your mechanics faster then what do you work on once you've done that if you want to get to a pro level as I mentioned most people probably will not get Pro level speed I'm just being completely honest with you but to maximize your own speed once you have mastered the basics you need to start learning things that are not that useful quite frankly because then you'll gain a surplus of mechanical skill and it'll make you pretty much able to do anything now the way that you do that is by pretty much watching some of the most mechanical players in the world and watch like the build combinations that they use when playing creative because I'm not really going to use this kind of stuff in fncs or in cash cups for the most point but you'll learn to see what they do what are their habits and you can learn to practice these for example here I've just got a random peterb 1 V1 he's doing in zone Wars I'm watching all of the different mechanics that he starts off with here so that immediately was already kind of insane so let's slow things down for a second and then so here he High walls ramp floor edit doesn't get him wall ramp floor catches himself wall so like the chance of me able to do that is is pretty is pretty low but we try it with slower speeds so at full speed what he did was essentially floor ramp edit flip cone ramp catch himself and then try to floor through that so can I do it oh my God I'm I'm actually petbot okay I can actually do that all right first time not going to lie oh I messed up he tried to peanut butter edit though didn't he so yeah obviously I'm not I'm not good at this right I'm doing okay yeah I'm not cleaning it so in order to like try and build ups part my muscle memory I would say go to 60 maybe maybe that's a little slow 60% 70% try and master that bang same thing again [Music] in and just really take your time and try to build up the muscle merory here so that when you do it faster yeah so I really I started to build up a bit of muscle memory for this now so let's now obviously you'd want to do that a little bit longer than I've just over a couple seconds but 80% okay no not quite I'm going to do that edit instead okay 80% is all right 100 why not probably a bit fast oh God a match here B yeah basically practicing things that Pros do and have part of their muscle memory will then put that as part of your muscle memory over and over again and once you've mastered say the movement I'm doing here in this example you can watch another Pro or another part of that clip and see another bit of their muscle memory that they do differently and you repeat the process and you simply build up this massive amount of muscle memory of incredible mechanics you can do over and over again and it'll be a surplus for pretty much any tournament you ever need you'll be more mechanical than you ever need to and then you need to basically practice something else so that's essentially how you manage to get the best mechanics you possibly can this is not here's every mechanic you can learn this is the process of how you should go about doing it and I think this is super super useful hope you guys learn it if you obviously want to play the map it's all built in here that I have here if you want to learn and practice all these things yourself codes on screen it's been on screen the whole time it'll be in the comments and the pin description down below as well awesome peace bye
