Exhalation Valve Setup
Procedure
:
Turn the ventilator to access the port.
Insert the exhalation valve fully.
Turn a quarter to the right until a click is heard.
Ensure it is tightly secured.
Circuit Setup
Features
:
Sleeve on the circuit to prevent tangling.
Installation
:
Fits in only one direction to prevent incorrect assembly.
Flow Sensor Lines
:
Color-coded (white and blue) to avoid confusion.
Pre-Op Check
When to run
:
When placing a new circuit or using the ventilator on a new patient.
Access
:
Via the pre-op check tab on the main screen.
Pre-Op Check Procedure
Tightness Test
:
Precaution
: Wear a glove to occlude the circuit.
Steps
:
Press 'Tightness'.
Follow on-screen commands to tighten/occlude the system.
Observe pressure ramp and safety valve test.
Green arrow indicates pass.
Flow Sensor Test
:
Steps
:
Press the flow sensor tab.
Disconnect the flow sensor connector, turn it as directed.
Follow the on-screen commands to manipulate the sensor.
Green check indicates pass.
O2 Cell Test
:
Conducted only as indicated by the ventilator.
Failed Test Protocol
Indication
: Red X in test boxes.
Actions
:
Check circuit connections from flow sensor to ventilator.
Inspect and reposition the exhalation valve membrane.
Retighten and reinsert the exhalation valve.
Reattach circuit and re-run pre-op checks.
Post Pre-Op Check
After passing:
Set controls.
Place filter in line.
Begin ventilation.
