Google Docs Formatting Tips
Adding Fonts
Access the fonts menu to add more than default fonts.
Search or sort fonts by popularity, date added, or trending.
Click on a font to add it to your fonts menu for future use.
To remove fonts, click the X next to the font in 'My Fonts' panel and confirm.
Clearing Formatting
Copy-pasting from web can bring unwanted styles/unusual spacing.
Highlight text and select
Clear Formatting
to match document style.
If missing the button, find it in the
Format
menu.
Use
Ctrl + Shift + V
to paste without formatting to save time.
Formatting Text
Capitalization is not formatting; use
Format > Text > Upper/Lower case

Highlight text to change styles via the text Styles menu.

To save styles as default for other documents, go to
Text Styles > Options > Save as my default styles

Headings added to the outline view for quick navigation.
Access via
View > Show Document Outline

Click the icon to expand the outline view.
