the logos Bible study platform offers insane tools that will help you take your Bible study to another level but it can feel overwhelming to navigate So today we're going to look at the most helpful tools you can use right now even with the free version of logos think of this as a demo of the basics whether you're new to logos or you're familiar with the software John Haley is a national presenter for Logos and he's going to walk us through the absolute basics of this Bible study platform and he's going to show us how to use these tools to accelerate our Bible study that's what we're going to look at in today's video well if you guys uh are here from all the announcements we've made uh you know what tonight holds in store at least you have a general sense and so John's going to take away in a bit but the reason we're doing this is because I've come to discover I remember I reached out to to logos um months back you're going to hear me flip-flop between logos and logos I'm talking about the same thing uh this is probably like almost a year ago I reached out and I just wanted to see if there was anything partnership wise that we could do because um I had known about their software their Bible study platform rather and uh got a response back and we emailed back and forth and it turned into this I started looking into the software and this platform is absolutely incredible and you know that this channel exists to teach people how to read the Bible like for those of you that have stuck around for a while you know that our job our mission is to teach people how to read the scriptures so they can live and teach the scriptures themselves so as fitting into our mission uh this made the most sense to recommend this resource to you guys and I've been um yeah we've been planning this for a while so I'm excited to show you guys the tools not me but John's the master here he's he's the Sensei he's going to show us everything he has to to give us so um John tell us a little bit about yourself uh where you come from what you do and what it means to be a national presenter at logos if you even want to get into it oh man well there's not much to tell I'm a pretty boring person uh but I I do love reading the Bible I'm an assistant pastor at a very small church and so uh I found myself the Lord kind of directed me into this role Ro uh in his uh wisdom and somehow I I I'm I'm a national presenter so I travel all over the country I present at conferences but then I get a chance to to hang out with with guys like Jason and do these webinars and get the word out about about logos or logos uh but what I love about it what I love about my job I mean I do get to see uh the Christian faith from different perspectives and I think that's helpful for me uh but then I love to be able to teach people how to read the Bible and and I I love the the tools that logos creates we've been around for over 30 years now uh and if you think about you know which companies which tech companies have been around for longer than than 30 years that's a very short list so it's really God's really blessed us we're 350 employees multiple languages all over the world so I'm really excited to to kind of share this with you with you all tonight that's crazy it it does go a lot deeper and a lot further than most people think this us didn't just arrive on on the scene and you're like you know what we want to help people study the Bible that's the whole reason we're doing this um I just want to present to you guys the some of the best tools around um and I I jumped into logos um just about really like d deep diving into it a couple weeks ago um and then John helped me he helped you know sharpen my technique and uh once I got a grip of what tools are offered in this uh Bible study platform like I I can't get off it because when I study the scriptures I guess up to this point I didn't realize how um not unequipped necessarily I don't think that's the right word but how much access I could have had the whole time thinking that I didn't have access to certain resources whether it be Maps atlases the different you know oh you're going to get into all that but it's been incra incredible reading Genesis um that's in my personal quiet time just been reading Genesis and then having this Bible study platform open being able to track with the journeys um that Abraham went on and and all the different things taking place and why the cities are named and what they mean that's been crazy awesome I so wish I had access to this a long time ago and so John why don't you uh go ahead and do your thing and share what it is that you're really let me share my screen here I'll make sure so let me know if you can see that you see that okay I think so all right awesome so I thought before I get into logos I I did like i' like to talk a little bit about you know why it's so important to read the Bible I mean uh Jason's an amazing teacher and so uh but there's this massive study I don't know have you heard of this the center for Bible engagement Jason have you heard of this study at all other than I think I mentioned it there's a chance I have this is a massive study it's been done for years it's over 400,000 people all over the world and the the premise of this study was they they were kind of like seeing what positive effects reading the Bible has what does biblical engagement have on people's lives and uh they came away with something very fascinating and it was it's called the power of four because what they found is that people that interacted with scripture you know one time a week their life didn't really it wasn't affected in a positive way in and you know it just had negligible effect uh two times a week negligible effect three times a week negligible effect but something really interesting happened when you hit four times a week can you engage with the Bible four times a week the the chart is just like skyrockets off in terms of positive effects okay so there's actual you know real almost like scientific proof here we know that the Bible it's the living breathing word of God but check this out for those have engag in the Bible four more times a week they're 228 per more likely to share their faith with others you know you're 47% more likely to memorize 59% less likely to to view pornography you know you you struggle less with loneliness so much there's so many other things that that came down this list but this was like the power of four if you engage with the Bible four times or more a week so I I have always read my Bible I love reading my Bible I grew up a pastor's kid I I married a pastor's kid uh but the problem that I came across and many of you are are sure when we when we go to the scripture there's all kinds of layers right you you know you've got the context the historical context the author the languages you know Hebrew Greek so what logos does is really a platform to help you uncover all of that so this is logos and when I say platform I I mean this is an app that you install on your laptop your desktop this is the main Workhorse we're going to look at tonight uh there's also a a mobile app I'm running it from my computer here so you can download it to your iPad and then there's also a webbased app but you can take notes I mean there's sermon building tools in it there's all kinds of great stuff but tonight I wanted to just focus in on a couple things that I think are the most important tools uh that you could start out if you're going to get logos and start out exploring these are going to be the most important things so the first concept though I do want to introduce here is that when I open up my library here you'll see I've got 5,547 books now I've got a very large logos Library so the first thing to understand is that logos comes with a digital library we're going to talk about this at the end but you know we've got all these physical books around us but the problem with books when we got to search something whether it's a scripture or a topic is is like searching and flipping pages and going and pulling it off the shelf and uh Jason and I were just talking we both have young kids so Jason how much time do you have at the end of the night to to read your you know your commentaries uh zero zero because you're so tired at the end of the night so we time is going to be the biggest investment it's going to be the biggest and bestest feature of logos is saving time so you're going to see how all the tools that we are using they're pulling from a trusted library that we've that we've chosen so we have all these different libraries you could choose from so I'll talk more about that at the end but the main tool that I'm going to show tonight U and then I'll show a few fun ones here is called the Factbook so Jason have you been in this one have you been diving into this one that's the one I keep using the most isn't it so incredible so let me open up the Factbook here and I'll explain why this exists and why we created it when you go to Bible study uh there's a lot of tools out there okay and then but then we've got Google Now Google's got tons of information uh you got AI tons of information but the problem is we don't really know if we can trust it number one and then once we start studying something we're going down rabbit Trails right we don't sometimes you start studying something and then you land on Facebook and then you're scrolling for for 40 minutes so the idea behind the Factbook it takes Google out of the picture uh it's kind of think of it like a a Google Christian uh theological research assistant so you can type in any person place thing topic uh I always pull up Tabernacle first because I use this if you Google Tabernacle the last time I checked I haven't done it in a while but the number two or three hit was a nightclub in Atlanta and so I mean you got the Wikipedia stuff but you know do we really trust it you know and then we have kids too kids are up and coming so we want a safe place to search topics like you know marriage you imagine you type in marriage or hope into Google what you're going to get so I thought tonight I would show this tool in the context of maybe Christmas you know Christmas couple weeks away uh you you all ready for Christmas bas you got all your shopping done whatever that means means yes oh you're one of those guys I am oh awesome well check this out let's say you want to learn about Bethlehem okay so I'm just going to come up to this box and I'm GNA type in Bethlehem now when you type something in like this Bethlehem what's happening this is a dropdown of all of the possible Factbook reports that you could pull on uh whatever it is you're searching okay so I'm just going to click on Bethlehem of Judah the place click on that and now we have a fabook report on Bethlehem so to break it down for you because they all kind of work the same way at the very top you're going to get a quick definition okay but then you'll get a key article and this key article will come from your library so whether it's the the lexum Bible dictionary uh lexum is the publishing arm of logos uh it's we're winning all kinds of awards for books of the year um so there's dictionaries commentaries so you'll get a key article and what I love I don't know if you've seen this yet Jason but one of my favorite things about logos of course is that I could just click here read more that opens up the book okay but when you're reading commentaries and your or books that cite scriptures I almost never looked them up because I didn't have time to look them up so I love that I could just hover over a verse and I can actually see the verse and read it in the context of the passage without having to spend time going and looking it up so that's one of my favorite things that it can do okay yeah now if you are I will also say this uh I don't know who who's on in the audience but if you are a student seminary college and you're writing papers you can copy any text like this click copy come over to your word document and paste it out in your paper and check this out logo cites the reference for you down at the bottom so when you're writing books Jason you're writing papers articles logos is an incredible resour Search tool for that as I needed that thank you I did not know that pleasure we'll do training 2011 next week does you scroll down now check this out now we've got some media we've got uh you know some maps we can look at we've got some key passages having to do with Bethlehem uh logos even goes out and searches the Bible for you so this section here when you search a person or a place or a thing you the referred to ad section so you know a lot of times when we want to study something in the Bible we always went either strongs concordance or we would use a free app and just search the word Bethlehem but the problem with that of course is that there's a lot of words in the Bible that talk about Bethlehem that aren't the word Bethlehem and so this referred to as section goes back and it looks at the Hebrew words so this in Genesis you mentioned you're reading Genesis you can see that e is actually Bethlehem this has been tagged as Bethlehem so that's that's actually Bethlehem that they're talking about as I scroll down there's the Greek so if I wanted to see all the different places uh where translated as come down here and say like I just want to see all the verses where this bethlehem's called city of David so I can go there and there's city of David because we're dealing with digital technology so searching becomes so easy in the Factbook uh you can also do like books of the Bible uh you can do authors you know so let's say for instance I'm going to go to uh Luke all right we'll go to Luke and I'm going to open my bible here too you'll see there's a a Bible button just click on that that pops your Bible okay but now let's say we want to we're going to read Luke 2 1-7 but you want to start uh studying a book of the Bible from a broader perspective right so if you go to the Factbook any book of the Bible you can just type in the book and you'll see this little red ribbon here the Gospel of Luke this is a Factbook report on the Gospel of Luke so you just click on it and now you've got a whole fabric report on the Gospel of Luke there's an outline and as you scroll down here check this out come down here you'll see all the events in Luke outlined for you so you can they they map out all the events for you it's pretty crazy wow but in your in your research have you ever seen this section here uh the Bible book guide section I haven't dared journey into those Waters yet okay so but think about this we're going to look at a passage guide in a minute and how it pulls up all commentaries for verses but this section right here allows you to go straight to a Bible book guide it doesn't look fancy but watch this un unfold this origin here so now I could say I want to learn about the purpose the date Luke was written the authorship or maybe I want to look at the background and I want to I want to look at the historical context the recipients the location so what's happening here this is taking all of these topics and shortcutting them to your commentaries and your dictionaries so all you have to do is just click on it and it opens up the book for you ah that is insane is that not insane yeah I just want to jump on it right now just study the Bible I know let's just we're done we're gonna study the Bible now okay but as you scroll down you know it's coming back to this idea of the library so now I've got more dictionaries in my library so whatever I searched I've got all these dictionary articles that I can go to so I I've got a massive Library not lot of people have this but I got some perks working here uh journals sermons so if I've got some sermons in my library that uh were like Charles Spurgeon sermons preached a lot on Luke so I can see all of these sermons so you get the idea is that this becomes a One-Stop shop for almost anything that you want to search in the Bible okay but watch this I'm going to go up here I'm going to click and I'm going to do Luke 2 1-7 and this blows my mind okay you type this in and you'll see that we've got some red ribbons here now these are Factbook reports on Bible sections okay so this particular one Luke 2 1-7 that's this paropy over here right the section of scripture so I'm going to look at this so This Factbook report the birth of Jesus Christ I want you to notice what's down below here Jesus's Humanity you know why that's there is because this is systematic theology that's been tagged in this scripture so when we type in that verse we can see that this is what we're going to study Systematic Theology of so I can click that and now I can go deep into the Theology of the scripture so there is a whole article on the humanity of Christ there's key passages and then there's links to systematic theologies in my library as well so you can see it helps uncover even the theology behind the scripture okay but let's do one more here I'm going to go to Luke 2 1-7 again and I'm going to run this report right here I'm G click birth of Jesus Christ and check this out I'm gonna scroll down there's our key article just like before this is coming from one of my commentaries here's some media and slides uh there's even uh people diagrams by the way I don't know if you saw this Jason but you can there's a whole people diagram tool built in the logos too so what yeah so let check this out you want to see the family tree for Samuel you know how long I've been trying to like do this on paper for like the last three years just who was here again oh my gosh biblical people diagrams all right so I'm gonna scroll down okay keep going I'm gonna go all the way down to the bottom okay because what we've done with the Factbook is that we've we've kind of we've looked at the definition we looked at kind of the overview of what we were searching for but now we want to go deeper right so we've got this dig deeper section at the very bottom of every fatbook report now this dig deeper section unlocks some things for us it points us to things that help us go deeper so we have some layouts already pre-built so if you just want to open up a Bible your favorite Bible your favorite commentary you just click Bible and commentary and it opens up for you you want to open up uh come down here to guides and you want to open up a passage guide just click on passage guide opens it up for you then we got workflows we got all kinds of workflows that take you step by step and even open the tools up for you as you as you study a passage of scripture so what's happening is logos is telling you where to go what tools you can use but all you need is the Factbook okay so now I'm going to click here on this passage guide and Watch What Happens passage guide on Luke 2 1-7 I'm going to drag this over here which is really cool you can you can drag things around you can create layout layouts you can create your own layout I do that all the time but check this out here passage guide this is a tool you can launch over here on guides and workflows I can come back over there and launch it but here's your passage guide where each section is guiding you through something you hover over it that's commentaries this is cross references so what this is doing is opening up all of my commentaries to Luke 2 1 through 7 I didn't have to go pull them off the shelf I've got all of my commentaries here and I've got a lot uh you can come down here and I can go to cross references there's all the cross references having to do with this passage come down here here's cultural Concepts that are going on all because I typed in Luke 2 1-7 and every as I go down the list I mean I can overwhelm you here it's like biblical places uh important words to look at because you can get into you know Bible word studies which is an insane tool important passages and why they're important so I love this passage guy because as you're studying scripture it doesn't matter if you're studying one verse you know if you're studying Genesis 1 one just type that in and then there comes a whole passage guide on your scripture all rearranged and bringing all of your tools to the Forefront that saves you literally 100 hours worth of work more have you been using that at all yet Jason I know you're still kind of new to this but this is pretty incredible I I've been safely hiding in like the Factbook in like only one section of it so I don't lose track of where I am to be honest because there's so much and I want to when you said layouts you meant like kind of um uh a preset template yep so if I come down here I'm gonna click close all all right down here at the bottom we've got built layouts we can create our own layouts we can create custom layouts you can create shortcuts to them it's awesome uh but like here Bible and commentary just click that and then up Pops a Bible with your preferred commentary if I come down here and I'm like okay I want to study uh let's do a bi we have Bible reading plans Bible journaling Greek word study I'm going to go into a Greek word study click on that and then here's the whole Greek word study and what this does is basically link your Bible to your Bible word study so I could come down here and I say let's say we want to look at this word just click on that and it runs a whole Bible word study guide for you on that Greek word oh so you don't have to I've been like closing windows and reopening you could just have it side by side and it plays off each other oh yeah yeah you can link it together it's yeah it's because now if I want to go here click on that one click on that one and then if you want to see the scriptures where this Greek word is being translated this way just click on the ring and it breaks out the scriptures at the bottom for you you want to see them all just click in the middle of the ring and it unfolds everything pretty insane that's right because words have semantic range exactly so so that's the idea behind layouts okay so but that's the Factbook but the other great thing about the Factbook I tell people is this I'm gonna open them both back up here and let's go back to Luke two and he's saying fact book not fat book fact book yes f a book not F A all right but check this out when I the Factbook icon's right here but check this out it's all Al over here in our Bible what that means is now I can go ahead and I can click on that and it underlines words in my text that are linked to Factbook reports so as you're reading the scripture and in real time I'm like I don't know Caesar Augustus I'm gonna click that and run a fatbook report on Caesar Augustus I'm gonna I don't know about Syria I'm gonna click on that there's a whole fatbook report on Syria uh you want to learn about the the birth of Jesus you you can go ahead and click on this map icon here the filter you can turn on in your Bible and so here is uh Jesus's birth my gosh I've been looking for this today I find map yeah yeah I'll teach you there it is look at that this is Mari and Joseph's root from Nazareth to Bethlehem so to give you some context if anybody had a baby U which we had three and I had to drive to 11 hour drive with my wife with a three week old uh that was bad but I can't tell you how bad traveling 70 miles on a donkey uh would have been with a baby it's insane it is so I love that you can interact with the text and the scripture this way because it brings it to life so that's the Factbook and again you come back over to the iPad app here let's go see I can open up my uh my Bible over here same thing on the app on the iPad app you can just tap on word and up pop these little info cards here and you can open a Factbook report right from your Bible on your iPad so it just opens the world up to you yeah I love it yeah it does so that's that's the Factbook and I wanted to show you the passage guide a little bit but we've also got some amazing fun tools any questions so far those aren't the fun tools those are those are so awesome and you'll be up as you said you're up late at night you're going to go and read your Bible it'll be 2 in the morning and your wife will be like what are you doing read your Bible how do you even St for three days yeah tools all right I'm gonna go over here I'm gonna Click On Tools because we have these amazing tools that are called interactives to help us visualize the Bible you know we live in a visual age and so when I come over here I'm going to just show you a few of my favorite ones so here's Psalms Explorer the Psalms expl explor helps us visualize the book of Psalms okay we got 150 Psalms but some some of you might know not know there's actually I could sort by the book there's five books in The Book of Psalms right but I could also sort by the authors I can come over here and sort by the author I can sort by the structure uh and then by the genre now the larger the dot the longer the PSM but the real powerhouse feature of this for me when I'm studying this I'm actually going to be preaching on Psalm 9 this this week and I'm going to come over here and I want you to see that we have tagged all of these Psalms with who wrote it the themes the structure so if you wanted to quickly drill down the Messianic Psalms click on that and there's 15 Messianic Psalms okay or I reset that maybe I want to look at David's Psalms maybe My Worship life is a little dry and I want I want to dive down into Psalms on worship so I click worship there and I maybe I want to focus in on salvation now I've got 20 Psalms that have been tagged with David as the author it's about worship and salvation and you could just click put them right in order there and you can click on the psalm and start reading now you'll see we've got some letters here and we got some outlines what's going on here well in the Psalms we have parallelism going on so where they'll take like one line and expound upon it it parallels each other so you can turn that on and off you've got the structure that you can turn on and off and the psalm I'm preaching on is actually a chastic Psalm which means you know you've got your the the verses that kind of correspond they mirror each other and you work your way towards the middle so a is going to correspond all the way down here to a and then you can follow that and break the text out so there's B Wicked self- condemnation corresponds up here right here self rication and then it works its way towards the middle so you can visualize and see the psalm and and the PO the poet you know working their way towards the middle that it's so cool wow so it shows you the center of the kism exactly yeah so the center is down here Wicked die righteous saved which is like the B you know the main point is at the center usually isn't that is that incredible yeah so that's that's one of the really fun ones that's fun to do with the kids but again it's very practical I I use it all the time uh another one that I would say is a lot of fun uh is this weights and measures converter okay so if I if I click on this weights and measures converter I'm going to open this up here full screen how often do we read our Bible and you come across numbers and you're like I just uh I I don't know what cubits are you know you try and imagine you've heard the from the elbow to the fingertips right how tall is Goliath and you try to visualize well now you can type in anything so like Noah's Arc 300 cubits check this out type in 300 cubits hit return and now you get a visual on just how big that is and it tells you it's about 475 feet wow 160 yards almost I mean more than a football yard and a half that's insane it's massive you do uh Goliath's code of mail 5,000 shekel it's like his shirt you know type that in there 5,000 shekels 127 pounds uh so so you start to do this and you realize you know the kind the kind of money that people were given to the church I mean you do this on the numbers about David giving to the build the temple and it's literally billions of dollars that he gave so there's some real and I think too we often if we gloss over the numbers we miss out on the glory of God in the Bible so yeah important to know okay so like I know absolutely nothing when I open logos it's a humbling it's a humbling Bible study platform you think you know a lot you'll open it and go I know ABS I know this much so well and then there's there's all we have all kinds of amazing trainings and then there's some tips and tricks actually because like I'll show you this one I'll just teach you right now I'm going to open my bible please you know that passage guide we launched watch this highlight your scripture click study there's your passage guide all right highlight your scripture again little arrows here text comparison and then now you've got all your top five preferred Bibles in order uh and you can see the different translations and how they're different so the blue is what the LSB says blue over here is what the csb says and what's crossed out is what the ESV said in my that's what I have set here in my so you have some amazing just I almost only ever open the Bible because there's so much you can do just by left clicking and right clicking uh but so powerful it becomes a world to step into instead of a book to open and and really yeah exactly and and really I tell people this like you're going to get in the logos and you're gonna be like oh I only use like 5% of it that's okay you know I probably only use 5 per of it because logos has been around so long I mean people that are out in the jungle translating the Bible are using logos they're diagramming sentences there's tools for that I don't know how to use them uh so and then if you're a missionary I don't know if you're watching worldwide here but this is another thing I should show since this is worldwide watch this you can highlight any text in any book and you can come over here on in a gold version you can get this on the desktop I think it's on the mobile app as well silver and Below but if you click translate this will translate your text in over 100 different languages so if you're a Miss we've had missionaries cry over this feature because they can translate on this on the Fly the Bible essentially so pretty amazing W I'm going to show you one more Jason no please more more I'm gonna show another one stay till midnight this this one is called the Bible books Explorer okay so I'm gonna click on Bible books Explorer I'm gonna open this up full screen oh yeah you did show me this this is so cool first off we've got some options over in this tool Okay so we've got books timeline inter Tex this is the inner text feature I'll come back to that but I'm going to click on books what this does is it shows you all the books of the Bible and the colors are you can hover over and it tells you like what kind of genre so like blue is 91% narrative in Genesis but if you if you click on a book you just go ahead and left click on a book let's say we do I don't know what you're doing Genesis I'll click on that here is a quick this is kind of like an over review of the book of Genesis everything that's blue is linking back to the Factbook so you can just click on that but there's here's some key people the key verse of the Book of Genesis key places key events that are going on composition dates uh and then stats you know I was homeschooled so I think that you know one of the most important things to know in a homeschool circle is how many words are in the Book of Genesis because you're the life of the party if you know that kind of stuff uh that the truth I was homeschool I didn't go to parties so we uh that's not true I'm gonna close that okay but watch this now I'm gonna come over here to the inext feature all right click on inext because what this is doing is showing us how the Old Testament and New Testament are relating to each other right so if I I've got some options here you can come up here and you can see what's cited what's quoted what's being alluded to uh that what's echo so if you are studying let's say the book of Hebrews and you want to go to quotation I'm click on that and I want to see all the places in the Old Testament that are being quoted in the book of Hebrews I could just hover over Hebrews and it Maps it out for you visually but then if you click on it it runs a complicated search that you didn't have to type out and there's all the verses that are being quoted in the Old Testament from the book of Hebrews now it works the other way though if you come over here go to psalms now I can hover over Psalms and I can go the other way and say I want to see all the New Testament scriptures that are quoting Psalms and then there's a whole search that shows you all the New Testament scriptures that are quoting Psalms I love that tool so again these are just fun tools not everybody's gonna use them every day it's just nice to know that you've got them in your back pocket and I forgot there was one more I'm going to show because this is this is fun for the kids yes uh let's see here one more okay let's do this one I'm gonna open this up I'm gonna say before and after okay so we have amazing people at logos very talented artists and they they takeen quite a few of these images here and what they've done let's take Jerusalem for example click on Jerusalem you've got a key article over here on Jerusalem okay so you can read your kids about this and and read about Jerusalem and everything's linking back to the Factbook here so if you want to go deeper in the kidan valley you can do that but check this out we've got our bar here that if I slide it over this is Jerusalem today okay after Bible times and then here it is before so this is what Jerusalem looked like before so they have artist Renditions that they've done of places and some things and so this before and after tool is is so incredible so I love these tools that uh that I'm showing because they're they're so practical you I've got kids and I want my kids to grow up loving the Bible and being excited about it and you know if you just hand them a book these days it's still it's the word of God it's it's super nothing's going to change that it's super powerful but if we could understand the context more and more and this is our passionate logos is that people are going to get more excited and the more you understand the context and what's really going on the the more understanding I think you'll have of the scripture so that is our that's our passion so that in is in a nutshell I mean there's lots of other stuff we could talk about um I don't know do you have anything else you want to see Jason I want to show people when you did the before and after I was like this this is kind of a joke but could you do before and after Sodom and Gomorrah well there might be some that they didn't do uh for a reason although that would definitely be the easiest one to do after just be like a a black piece of paper oh man I have so many questions because I'm like this is like classic kid in the candy store but instead it's like a kid in a candy store in Disney World on another planet like there's so many layers to the fun here um do you think we could take a couple questions just regarding the tools yeah absolutely um I see that Daniel was asking uh what features do you lose when only using the app version do you know just cuz people are kind of toggling between the the mobile and desktop Wonder well first off it doesn't really if you're losing features there'll be some things that don't translate because um you know phone apps are going to translate differently but when you look at a mobile app for instance um let's see here pull up our mobile app I've still got access to my library so I've got 5,000 over 5,000 books there you can do reading Plans by the way you can there's all you can create you even create your own highlighting system which is pretty insane uh you can do do amazing searches uh the Search tool is very powerful and on the mobile app they actually just introduced uh the it's like an auto uh autofill Auto suggest feature because you can not just search the word you could search the word but you can search people places things so for instance if you're in the mobile app here and you type in uh Jesus you see how you get a dropdown of Jesus the person so if you click that this runs search on for verses that are just about Jesus the person now this might take a minute because I'm kind of simulating my iPad here and this will bring up several thousand verses but you see what's happened here is I didn't search the word Jesus I searched the person Jesus and so we're getting verses like Christ is which is conceived a son but it's Jesus so so there you're going to have amazing searching capabilities there's the passage guides there but it's not going to be the full passage guide the Factbook is there in pretty much its entirety U and then a lot of your notes are going to translate over as well but things like the songs explor the Bible books explored uh the weights and measures those will be on the desktop version but again the fact where becomes so powerful you could probably look up a whole bunch of stuff and be okay without that you mentioned a a customized highlighting method can you demonstrate that just of course for everyone else but mainly for me okay this just for it's for you okay so under Tools this is for me this is we have the Highlight here now I might not have a highlight created Here in My Demo count but I'll here's our highlighting tool let me open up my Bible so there's already like solid colors there's emphasis markup there is um highlighter pens you've got uh inductive preset you know but if you come down here all the way to the bottom and this does have to be um created in in the system but if you if you come down here and you want to add a new style I'm going to say add a new one and I'm just going to call this my uh my main point this is awesome this is the first time I've ever demoed this on a webinar I just want you to know that okay so let see I'm gonna go I'm gonna do let's do labeling I love this labeling watch this main point and I'm going to say solid color blue okay and I'm going to save that so now if I come over here and I highlight something randomly and I go to my highlighter I can just click over here and that'll create my highlighter that's the main point so you can get really creative your own highlighter system and create and this translates over by the way into the mobile app as well so your highlights when you are in I don't know if it'll go since I'm simulating here but but when you are in a book oop sorry hold on and you come over here and you highlight some stuff and you say additional Styles John's important colors yeah it hasn't caught up yet but after it catches up you'll see that main point uh highlighter style be right there so wow you can really create your own custom highlight style and then on top of that once you've done that I mean you can you can filter down the highlights you can search your highlights a lot of people don't get into that but it it is really quite a powerful quite a powerful feature feel like you could spend 10 lifetimes at oh exploring the thing is we all we all do a lot of this just using different tools and so what happens if you if you invest the time logos becomes a platform for the rest of your life because when you buy a book in logos it's yours you know it's it's called Dynamic pricing so they bundle libraries together and it's yours for Life we've even had people that have left you know logos to their kids in their wheels and they can transfer that oh that's cool so it's I like that it's really cool it this is just a random question I have but when you do highlight let's say I did a passage and I did all my custom highlighting because I'm a weird guy like that is there a way to export that and almost printed or or um digitize it in a PDF document that you know the top of your head you can export your not because when you highlight something it'll create a note but I don't know about that I'd have to a little research on that sorry to throw a curveball at you no that's a great question I think it's something that they need to do better at you know it's one of those things like you want to export I know there's other programs out there that do uh amazing note taking and interface with other you know books but um the thing about the notes and logos though is that everything's searchable that's the powerful thing yeah that is so when you search anything when you search anything it'll search your notes your sermon documents your books I mean everything man it's a computer within a computer exactly was there any other questions uh the audience someone was asking about the pictures where you do like a before and after of Jerusalem uh they were asking uh can those pics be printed oh interesting if you want guess share a lot of a lot of pictures allow um let's see here I've never tried it let's see here seems like everyone has a different purpose for logos sometime yeah this isn't an image per se so you wouldn't be able to print that picture per se however I will say this let's do open up the fatbook here and I'm going to type in I don't know something random Jacobs Well okay so let's say you wanted to print this you can rightclick on a map and you can print send a PowerPoint or even send to your sermon that you're working on in in logos because that's that's another thing um if you're a pastor if you're watching this and you're a pastor or a teacher of any kind you're leading a small group the seron building tools are incredible in logos as well wow that is so cool if I wanted to for example search Abraham's Journeys on a map how would you do that for practically for I if I went over here to tools open up our Atlas tool and filter your Maps down to Abraham oh my gosh filter all of your all of your like Abraham and Sarah go to Egypt that's what I was looking for y and then you can visualize the actual tracks he made and when he would go backwards wow yep that changes everything it just changes everything it's pretty insane what other these are great questions yeah you have another one um Marcus had a question uh he was asking let me see if I can find it what is the logos method of data validation and is General syak Aramaic uniform Acadian and any of the Eastern Aramaic pesth part of the validation process if you don't know the answer you can say I do not know I do not know okay I know we don't get into syak uh I know there's another program out there would do that if that is your um go-to language if that's part of your research but uh I don't know enough about that part of logos to answer that we have some studious scholarly individuals in our community cool that is awesome you loveo yeah yeah man that's what I love about this is it's not just for like The Brainiac it's it's for the kid that just learned uh about Jesus he's 12 years old knows how to read well enough to and I just want to click some things and see where Jesus walks on a map you know yeah absolutely and I'll say this too it translates over I I don't even talk about this uh today but there is a counseling guide built right into this so you know if you are a parent or you're discipling somebody uh you could even in silver and above I'm gonna talk about that next the different libraries that we have but in in logos silver uh when I type in a topic like anxiety you can type in any counseling topic uh depression substance abuse whatever you'll get this little counseling guide a counseling theme Factbook report and the thing that that'll pop up here is going to be a quick reference guide to biblical counseling by Tim Clinton so you can click on this and keep in mind this is something that's in the Factbook so you can get access to this from your phone so you could read this and what it does is it gives you the portraits definitions and key thoughts on what you're dealing with and then as you scroll down here you'll see assessment interview questions so what this means is you're able to actually on the Fly go from you know counseling somebody in a hospital maybe they lost somebody divorce whatever it is you've got a tool in your back pocket that has been written by trained counselors uh so again Ministry platform it goes beyond just the Bible study incredible that is cool okay well let me tell everybody before the hour is up here because then you make sure your kids my kids I think they're gone I don't think they're going to come bursting through the door but uh I wanted to show everybody everybody gets 25% off uh which is insane so what I wanted to do is kind of walk you through how to get this how to get started if you already have logos that's awesome you this applies to upgrades as well if you're on an older version there's a monthly payment option so the way it works is in logos you have different Library packages everything I showed tonight I think with the exception of the quick reference guide the biblical counseling and the Bible books Explorer those two come in silver but everything would be in bronze translation tool would come in Gold Gold's our best seller but let me walk you through real quickly uh as I said it syncs on all your devices so the bronze package great place to start uh don't worry that's not the price if if you were to go out and buy all the books that are in this Library it would take over eight grand to get all the books that are in this Library okay uh normally it's $629 that's if you just want to pay it off there's $150 books you know go to your bookshelf and count 150 books and just realize how much that is and then the special event is just a one time 473 if you do monthly it's only 40 bucks a month okay for 14 months once you pay it off it's yours and you're done now if you want to get into word studies then silver is a great place to go and this is going to have pretty much all the tools in logos with the exception of as I said the translation tool and then another feature called The Print Library feature that not everybody's going to want uh but the word study Library silver that's your print book value regular over 280 books in this library and that's a special event and then monthly it's only $53 a month for 16 months gold is again our best seller this is yet over $19,000 worth of books 640 books great commentaries that's your special event it's almost $400 off wow and it's $55 a month for 24 months so the thing is I'm going to show you the landing page we set up here but to do the 24mth payment plan you're going to need to email me so email me john. logos okay as I said you can download it to all your devices forever uh you got a money back guarantee uh training online and so here's where we want to go we've set this up for you uh you've got a whole landing page here okay so logos.com Jason kamacho uh and then new to logos use this code that link will be in the description of the video too exactly yep and then if you're upgrading use this code this coupon does expire in a week okay so it expires at midnight Pacific time uh but let me show you what that landing page looks like it'll it'll look like this uh we once the recording processes uh me Jason will have it posted and then we'll have the recording here as well if you want to revisit that but here's your different packages you can just kind of scroll through and pick which one you want and if all you got to do is Click learn more if you want to take a look at what's in it just click learn more and it'll open up this page here and you'll see It'll scroll down and it'll show you some of the the highlighted you know resources and books and then there's a list of all the books for you as well so make sure you take a look at that but it's very very simple uh once you once you do that you're just going to go here and then throw it in your cart and then that'll actually put the coupon code in for you automatically nice uh your payment options are over here so any other questions I mean that's all I wanted to show you guys I mean excited partner up with you here I think got an amazing Ministry so appreciate it anything else yeah I just want to let everyone know that obviously the the link will be in the description of this video and this video as long as it's up uh we'll continue uh well I guess I'll have it up and then when the coupon expires I'll take that out of the description so you really have seven days to utilize that 25% off um but I did have a question how do you become a master sensei to be a part of logos as a resource in it what what qualifies someone to to be like a a a resource source that logos pulls from Oh you mean like get your book in the platform sure or or just even be a commentary let's say I write a commentary in 30 years yeah yeah so we basically in logos there is this uh we work with all kinds of Publishers so we've got pretty much every commentary out there um that most people would have because that's the other thing about logos is we have about 200,000 books on our platform last I knew we were like second to Amazon when it came to like digital theological resources so yeah but then you can call us if you if you self-publish books you want to get your book in there uh and quite often I'll work with authors you know they they didn't even know they were in the logos ecosystem because their Publishers pushing it out there so wow you might be in there already I don't know who knows I doubt it but thanks yeah this has been amazing I mean if if anything for me this has been just wild uh so much to learn and so many tools to enjoy uh magot you just turn this off came early it did oh man this so cool well thank you John for joining us and walking us through we got to have you back um because there's still a lot more potential to unlock abut um and I'd love to see you uh bring us through that because I think for now you've given us enough to feel overwhelmed yet confident we can navigate it and then next time you can overload us a little more to let us know there's a lot more so that sounds awesome thanks for being here much appreciated pleasure and then again you guys the link is in the YouTube description below uh logos.com Jason Camacho I believe was the link and that's 25% off and I think that's all we got for you guys today thanks for being here John much appreciated what a blessing Merry Christmas and guys I in in the videos to come as I I wouldn't say master as I become competent with logos I will be showing you guys uh how I navigate it talk you through it walk you through it have q&as right now I'm not the expert by any stretch of the imagination um and John wouldn't say he is but I think he is and so um in future videos we'll be pulling this up and exploring
