Galatians Zoom January 15

and all sorts of things that they thought or they were raised or they were reared to believe to be true but now when they hear the good news and the gospel was truly good news to a lot of folks when they hear the good news not to allow them to be burdened down again by all the different trappings that they had with all these other belief systems that go on and this this is not something that just goes on in those days it's something that goes on now as well because people are chased away from the gospel they're chased away from the gospel by all the burdens and all the trappings and all the requirements that people put on uh just coming to Christ and it still goes on today and uh again Paul also wanted to counter the judaizers that were coming in with the whole circumcision and the whole law thing he didn't need to resurrect at this point the law Christ had already fulfilled the law he fulfilled the law he told us how we can fulfill the law loving God first putting God first and then loving each other as we love ourselves we're fulfilling the law ourselves so we did not fulfill the law once and for all and that's it he allowed us to know how we can continue in his footsteps and in the things that we do in his word and his name we actually fulfill all of that as well so when we start thinking about that you start thinking about that it removes again burdens from people or barriers if you will that for people to come to Christ the whole issue of circumcision he had to settle that and get that out of the way because that was a big burden to a lot of folks we're talking about Greeks we're talking about uh Romans if you will we're talking about people of of Asian descent and from that whole area that was a big barrier that was a barrier and to confirm the gospel is coming from God again this is something that is not just isolated to that time this is something we have to deal with too that we have to make sure that when we speak we speak those things which are written those things which are in the gospel those things that are in the word so that we know that we represent the word of God it's not our words because our words are flawed we we have you know everybody we all have our own set of issues so we have to keep that out of the Gospel we have to keep that out of when we teach that's why we lean so hard on making sure that when we speak we speak only those things from the word of God and this is what Paul is is bringing forward as well again to validate his apostleship ship and also deal with that whole relationship that he had to deal with because he wasn't one of the uh ones that walk where as in we look and uh in the first of Acts when he starts talking about someone that go went was walked in and out with them and went in and out with them the whole time that Christ is with them he did not meet that criteria so there had to be some clarification and bringing in to the tent if you will the relationship that he had with the other Apostles and also he had to deal with the relationship of the old and the new covenants because when we start thinking about this people believe things for a long time they walk in the way in a long time it's hard for people to to move forward or or give up things or to uh if you will advance sometimes because they hold on to Old belief systems like say it's not just isolated to to these people at this time it's have things that we deal with now ourselves that we hold on to things that we don't longer have to be burdened with however it's still with us so he had to bring that relationship forward and so that we can see where everybody can see exactly what the grace of God was bringing to us was bringing to the world what the good news really was and like I said it was good news it still is good news for everyone that is hopeless everyone who is sick everyone who has uh issues or oppressed and all these things it is good news the gospel of Christ is definitely good news excuse me let's go ahead and move forward any thoughts or comments that anything I said so far y'all not going to make me do all talking tell that right now ain't happening uh okay key verse before we dive into the chapter key verse uh when we point out the uh uh the book of Galatians is most agreed upon is Galatians 51 being the key verse of of the book and it's saying that stand fast therefore in the Liberty by which Christ has made us free and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage what are your thoughts what are your thoughts on this on this passage what your thoughts on this verse well unfortunately brother Pinkerton there were many that were coming in that were trying to reattach Christians to the Mosaic order and uh that was a constant throughout many much of the New Testament the Epistles they were constantly the apostles were constantly Paul in particular trying to fight off those who wanted to try to entangle or are placed back in bondage Christians under the law of Moses definitely other thoughts right um I was just kind of going back to chapter 11 of Acts where Cornelius and his household were all baptized and Peter had to go back and talk to the elders and the apostles in Jerusalem about it and I remember we had a discussion in class that you know we thought that was it you know well we accepted Gentiles uh you know well the the the gospel now is also for the Gentiles as well as as well as Jew and that's you know and it sounded like they were accepting of that but apparently there were others who just could not bring themselves to accept the fact that these people who had been leaving who they they considered as heathens who didn't recognize God at all now are being accepted just like they are exactly and and I think brother Washington had mentioned this the thing about you know for a millenni many Jews had been taught about circumcision and all these different types of things and it's funny because they were like well okay we'll accept Christ now but you know we we were circumcised and you say that Christ came to us first well you know we we wanted to make that right and so you told us what to do at Pentecost you know that kind of thing and U and now I hear this group of people are also receiving the gospel message which is what the prophets had been preaching on exactly so um you know once again it goes back to what I think huby said and you said too earlier that uh people they get so caught up in the traditions of men it's hard for them to release those things and true but hey I for one like the whole idea of not being entangled again under a yoke of bondage see that that has another meaning for Black Folk you know yeah there something else too uh I'll add that right after glad glad go ahead and and with your comment okay I know we're looking at it in a histor perspective but what does it say to us today when new people come into the church who have not um not been reared up in the Church of Christ and they have some differences one I'm thinking about in particular is that uh I've had people to say to me who have visited it's about the addess the dress code is as if it's a requirement do we have a requirement or is there expectation of how people need to dress I mean there may be some other other things today is is that us are we being like the Judy judaizer or when we um when we expect people to I don't I can say take on um take on Traditions that's not a part of what the Bible says is required for worship I think the word you're looking for is conform uh conform to well tradition too yeah tradition as well hey John yes I'd like to ask glattus okay when you when you say a dress code or something like that what what exactly are you seeing or are you hearing from people who are becoming members I mean I don't want to try to Sidetrack us but I'm a little curious about that well I've had sever who I was best uh you know Christian pale too one found that told me was that she didn't have the money to go buy the clothes that she felt she needed to be a you know to wear to church um I've had another one who told me younger lady this was a middle-aged lady then I had a younger lady I would guess maybe's in her 20s um she said some something similar Sim similar and she said she's not at the status yet to be coming just to keep coming just didn't feel that I me just didn't feel that she had the I guess the the clothes again it was about the clothes in her case the younger girl it was about her clothes and her car uh I don't know how if we giving people that impression but she just said she she wasn't she don't think she was ready for it yet and neither one of them had come back yet so I don't know but that's what they that's what they expressed to me oh and then I mean you don't want me to keep going but then I've had where younger this is years ago where a family that used to attend there if I call their name you would know and uh the teenage child I think he was up supposed to been helping with the communion or whatever but he didn't have a tie on and someone had said to him who were presiding over it that he couldn't help serve because he didn't wear a tie that Sunday um stuff like that well Delta actual actually and I know this is after the fact and and and and I I don't want to sound like Monday Morning Quarterback anything but the thing is those are teachable moments those are teachable moments when we we get to talk to someone uh about things like that it's just like our singing why do we sing why do we do congregational singing why do why do we all sing to the Lord rather than have a choir or something like that it's because God is the audience God is who who we're singing to and who we're singing for he is who if if anyone is is we showing what we are offering is to God the same reason the same thing goes with how we dress um how we dress is not what you actually wear uh what you actually have on uh there is a degree of modesty that should be maintained however we dress for God while presenting ourselves before God uh why personally why I dress the way I do is because if I'm gonna dress up for anybody I'm dressing up for God I'm not going to uh give anybody else anything more than I give God no one so uh that's the reason why I address why I do and uh you know it's a teachable moment when we have the opportunity to to speak to people about these things because those are real issues those are real uh and people have real thoughts about them uh Johnson yeah hand brother John brother John Moore brother John Moore had a comment and then the he was ahead of me oh oh go ahead brother oh I I put my hand down but anyway I was going to focus on Stand Fast what it means and somebody may have already covered this did they did they cover that okay I guess they did well here's what I found Stand Fast in the faith is a phrase frequently used by the Apostle Paul in the Bible he encourages Believers to remain steadfast and consistent in their commitment to Christ even in the face of Trials challenges and adversity it means holding on to one's belief being courageous and standing firm in the truth of the gospel and no one can tell the truth better or tell the gospel better than Christ Jesus himself coming from the Apostle and that's that's what he used that phrase a lot in his Epistles I think it does he does it definitely does yeah and I may Elementary a lot of folks are hear to me I'm sure oh no no no no no that very very good comment go ahead I I like the verse I think it does stand out as a good uh ke verse for Galatians my comment is on a lot of my American Brothers misuse this verse to make it a nationalistic statement that you know Christ has set them free and they use their patriotism and connect it with Christ and try to make it seem like that's the freedom that uh Christ has made us uh that he wants us to stand firm in and that is that is so much putting the cart before the horse yes it is uh it's hard you know I try to help help bring them back but you know with love and kindness but I I do like the verse but I just want to mention is often misused for this idea of patriotism and stand firm for your country and and your ideals and that kind of thing where the freedom that is being talked about here is the freedom that we have in Christ the freedom from sin and the freedom from error and the law and those things that was my com right yeah this is Valerie um to get back to what s glad said I don't think it's what how much you have or what you have I just think people always want to look their best for the Lord so that may be a way when somebody says that it doesn't matter uh what it cost or how much it cost that doesn't matter it's just looking your best for the Lord and that's what we should always look to do when we come to church it may not it may be a pair of blue jeans but if that's your best then you put your blue jeans on and and a shirt and if and if someone says something then they are they are wrong that's the way I look at it is to look your best for the Lord every day we come whatever we have if it's a jogging suit if it's that's your best then you put on your best and I'm going to Let It Go on that another darl go ahead yeah and you know just kind of going U along with what said and also back to what glass was saying you know I'm just sitting here thinking how to respond to that you know fact be told our congregation is made up of people of different financial backgrounds uh different different uh walks of life and um I remember brother Jones saying one time you know it's a beautiful thing to see a man who has a PHD like this is back during the years when we used to have brothers stand before the congregation to to pass the communion trades and to do that he said it's a beautiful thing to be able to see a man who is who has a uh uh a doctorate a doctorate in whatever standing next to a brother who works for perkon gas station and we're all the same um the the truth be told is that you do have people of different financial backgrounds that are all members at at our church and so you may see a guy drive a a 1972 uh hoopie and you might see a guy pull up in a in a 2025 Mercedes I me it's like and that's okay and I think new members need to recognize that it's like it's not it's not a thing that you have to be worried about not measuring up because you don't have the same clothes or the same that's not it at all uh you know we it is what it is and I think it it does turn people away I think the problem is comes in when you tell people uh no you gotta you got to have on this and you got to have on that that's where the problem comes in and I like what you said John about you know we we have to refer to scriptures on those on those types of issues you know modest apparel you know we certainly don't want somebody to come up and I'm just being honest somebody was revealing clothes on you know and and that's happened that's happened um so I I think you know we have to kind of refer to scripture and God's wisdom on that um but you know I'm I I don't know how else to to respond to that you know no no that's that's good I have a question has anybody on uh in the class here ever worked in the prison ministry yes yes yes yeah what do you think about this when we are looking that when Paul is talking about the Liberty when you're working in a prison ministry when you talk to people you bring the gospel to the people in prison that Liberty you're changing their minds you're Chang their minds you're free you make them free indeed although they may be in a bad situation God has called them to Liberty and see the thing is is when we look at this the gospel frees people it frees people of sin and Free People of bondage and Free People all the world even regardless of what your situation may be the Liberty that God gives us frees us frees our soul and when Paul is talking about the Liberty I think he's more talking about what's inside of us what he's granted us what he's delivered us from delivered us from this yoke of bondage uh more than the the trappings that sometimes we get caught up in brother y yeah I think uh on this high on this whole idea of physical appar on and this is a study within itself brother this is a three Monon study but I think it important for us to when we come together in corporate worship uh those of us that are maturing the faith and those of us that are new to the faith we should constantly be encouraging those who don't know that they should come in a presentable way and there are methods of of being modest and being presentable before God that don't require a lot of money right and and we need to share that with the with with with the young in Christ and those who are prospective Christians that you don't have to pay a lot of money to look presentable you do have to look decent you do have to look honorable you can't look immodest and if and if those of us in the church are walking around dressed provocatively dressed in modestly we can't expect Junior Christians to to uh not follow that that example so just food for thought uh uh it doesn't take a lot of money to look presentable to the Lord you can go to a thrift store I know I know people who are wealthy that frequent thrift stores and and look and look like they've spent a lot of money but they haven't and we need to pass that on both the males and females who are new to the to the church definitely Freddy you had a comment uh yes um I just wanted to share that uh I have had a situation where I had to intervene in just that topic and there was a young lady that came to church she had been coming quite often but this one Sunday several of the ladies in the church did not like how she was dressed this devastated this young lady yeah and so what I they did is they came and they got me I don't know why but they just came and got me and they said told me that she was in there in the lady's room and she was all broke up when I went to talk to her I had explain one thing to her I said when you dress this morning did you dress for church and she said where you mean I said I don't judge how people dress because I'm like what has already been stated if that's the best you got then that's okay okay but you must always ask yourself the question because you say what's wrong with my atar I say it comes down to how you feel I said did you honestly dress to come worship God or did you dress for others to see you if you dress for someone else then I would say you need to question what you're wearing to church that day because we're supposed to be presenting ourselves before God not not to man and she suddenly relaxed cuz she said no I didn't dress to appear for anybody else I did dress to come worship God but I do have to give more thought to how I dress when I'm coming before God because that's who we should always remember we're there to worship him we're not there for others when it comes to our attire because we even had one guy that came in he felt the same way but I think he was challenging us that he came in and he looked like he was just off the street hadn't bathed nothing and what he got was me and John he sit behind John and I at the church that day and when church was over we turned around we shook his hand we hug him rest of the people in the church looked around looked at H that man got a lot of hugs that day because it wasn't about what he looked like what he smelt like he was at that point coming to worship God he didn't do anything untours when he was worshiping God and I guess I guess John because we usually always would turn around and except when you know Co changed us a little bit but we used always tuug people but what my point is is that modesty is also in the eye of the behold and we have to when if we're going to have classes about modesty because the Bible does talk about the women teaching the uh younger and the men teaching the younger men that's why that is important but I just caution that when we are approached with those situations even if a woman did come in revealing go get somebody who you trust to go talk to that woman just don't go get somebody who always complain about how somebody look and that's all I had to say okay to uh go ahead pa okay it it brings up a lot of different views when you talk about this this topic part of it I think is cultural and when you think about our churches not having other places to dress originally the church was the place where we used our our our better blue jeans or overalls or whatever it was to wear down through the years as we have learned better or gotten more fluent we do have a different take on what we're wearing to church and I know one of the elders um that was in charge of the men who participated in church service serving the congregation felt like there was a need to have a a code I guess you'd say of what they look like and my son was coming into the point where he needed to learn to participate and he I saw him pulled off into that the little cloak room and they were talking and my instant reaction was what did he do what is what has he gotten into him about and so after they finished their con conversation I asked the Elder was he out of order what did he do and he said uh no no no no I just told him I wanted him to be prepared to participate in the service next Sunday well that meant at that time you wear a jacket and you wear a tie and I think as we get to know people if we find out that they don't have those those uh items or they don't they can't dress in that way then you know ask them would you like us to help you get something it's not a matter of looking down it's a matter of us all sharing and helping because we know that there's somebody around here who has something that would work for you we used to have a clothing room where you could go in and get whatever you needed or they gave it to people who came to the church who needed things so why couldn't we do it for the same our members just like we got showers in the in the basement so if you find somebody who's wanting to come to worship who's who doesn't have anything clean how come we can't just take them to the shower and let them take a shower but see those those those items become tests of Fellowship I had some young people tell me well how come I got to wear this and how come I got to wear that and I my response was probably uh worldly but I asked them okay if you're working at the post office office or if you're working for a pharmaceutical company and they tell you this is the uniform are you going to ask them how come I got to wear this I said what we do here at church we're supposed to do from the heart because we love the Lord and we know that we're coming to Worship the Lord so I think we have to re redirect our thinking and it's not about challenging God or challenging the church we we just need to recognize that these are not necessarily areas of doctrinal disagreements it may be just that the elders have set that as a standard and if you look not all the elders dress that way so it's not a command it's not a rule it's just this is what we think would be presentable I think that to be honest with you I I I I think that Co has changed a lot of things because I know us that that have been in the church while we're just happy to be in a building with people likeminded we don't care what people have on be there because was so long that we couldn't be there comment I want to brother well I'm trying to see if there's any other Elders on the on the in the class here I oops I I can speak on behalf of the elders and tell you that uh you know 30 35 40 years ago you know people did dress more formally um but times times have changed um I think Paulette mentioned something about cultural you know African-Americans you know going to church on Sunday was like you said really one of the only times of the week when we could really dress well and what they used to call our Sunday Best you know um but nowadays you know things are are more or less formal hey I remember even being a kid going to a Tennessee State University football game you know you gonna see black folk dressed up yes right you don't see that anymore um and so yeah you see Elders now an IR ir1 U on some Sundays I don't wear a tie and but I I I generally have on a a jacket and a shirt with a collar or something like that but things are changing um young people see things a little different nowadays they're not as formal as the previous generation and once again you know we are coming before the Lord so we want to look our best but what does that actually mean when it comes to certain attires um you know do you have to have on a tie no uh do you do you want to be modest yes the Bible does speak to that um do you want to be presentable yes we're not there to draw attention to ourselves with there to worship God and to me as long as we have scriptures that can support that uh I I think what that's we we want to adhere to and so you know I'm just kind of following along with John said you know we can all speak after paulet said something so that's my that's my that's my comment okay brother pinkton yes the reason other reason about that that we talking about liberality this whole Galatians dealing with freedom and um liberality not to have things put upon us that's not required to be a Christian and also thought about James in the Book of James will tells us not to have partiality I think sister um I think your wife sister Pinkerton gave a good example of um how we should approach people when they especially when they're new to the church and they don't know about all this dress code and stuff and they don't know all the scriptures and always uh the way you all did the man that came and sat near you who may not smell well like some other people near you but James the Book of James I'm thinking has talks about this too where it ask you you know how do you treat the people who come in who um you got a man that comes in he's dressed up and he's you know he's got on the nice fine clothes and then you got another the poor man comes in the poor man comes in and he comes in to sit beside you and his rment of clothes are not clean or whatever and is in in the Bible uh James I think is second chapter tells us we don't show partiality so I know we might through our Traditions or whatever have come to say we should dress like is we know all these scriptures but we can't expect people who just came into the church to know it right and then to be a stumbling block I that that's that comes that's what touches my heart is that I wouldn't want to be a stum block to anybody who's new coming in and trying to become a part of the church so I just I just think we need to think about um as we talk about this liberality in Christ as if he says whosoever will let him come that's that's what is but thanks thanks to everybody comments barara yes hello may I say something yeah sure here come I was just getting who said that I was just I love you I I was just getting ready to say that um I was listening to everything that everybody say and I'm I'm going to talk real quick and real fast but um I work at a school every day where a lot of times the kids come and they not dressed properly some of them have them had baths and they look it's just really it's it's it's not good but sometime I'm taking kids to the shower that don't haven't had baths their clothes look bad and they've been wearing them almost every day but it takes a whole lot of love to be able to look at somebody else you know that's not maybe having a good moment and put yourself out of that you don't you don't have to lose your Christianity of who you are to God by really ask just putting yourself out of the way for a few minutes to kind of open up the door for somebody else to be able to walk in that same path you in and really sometime it's really heartbreaking cuz I have that test sometimes of little girls that come in they not dress properly they trying to show their skin so I spend a lot of times you know like I think it was Miss pette saying that you have to um help a person dress we could kids clothes at the school sometimes we're feeding them teaching girls how to keep their clothes right comb their hair not having a shirt up or they dress too short or they pants with holes in them and guys with their clothes don't look good their shoes not good so I don't say anything I pull them to the side or if they send them to me and tell me to take care them I take them and get their stuff and they're ashamed and they are embarrassed so I don't embarrass them anymore or hurt them anymore I just said come on and go with me and I go down there and I get the stuff and I take them quietly away from everybody else take them to the showers or give them food or whatever and sometime they just hug me and and sometime they say thank you and I said if you need anything let me know and then I sweetly tell them you know you got kind of you know watch how you're dressing the little girls I said because you're around grown men around here and you don't want anybody to get the wrong idea and the little boys I said you know come on because they're ashamed and embarrass embarrassed in front of their friends but I've learned this with even having grandchildren when I go get them for church I said you better make sure you dress like you got some s cuz they're Ms and if they put on a pair of jeans or they little jackets or whatever I don't see anything cuz I'm just glad they going to hear the word yes and uh like I'm saying with grown people some sometime we spend so much time on how we think of how we feel God already see it he already know what's going on he already know what the issue is but we can be kindhearted and loving it's all about love to actually just put our out of the way for a few minutes and give a person an extra moment to either uh tell us what's going on or not tell us what's going on or either like uh brother pink said teachable moments that is a moment when you can be the greatest person in front of God where you can just give a little love and not turn your nose up act stupid crazy or either think they all out of wax because you don't know if they ever been to church before you don't even know why they come if they invited but that's your moment given by God if you have that opportunity to just help the person to continue to keep coming back and to help him out and to serve God also cuz you know what we were in the same boat I always think like this I had to get it too so I ain't sing to sh I'm not going to knock nobody else down cuz we all trying to get to the same place that's just what I got to say all right brother Frank yes uh I would like to quickly make a response to the origion question from uh sister Haren I would like to give a personal experience on that when um he was talking about the person feeling like they I'm not dressing uh like the other members and everything um I am seeing that is that person the new people coming in their perception of what they perceive of the body the church before coming in and when we come in with that perception whatever perception we may have of the church when coming it is up to to the church to um dispel that perception by the way that we treat them when they come in and I'm saying that because I came from another church uh Baptist Church and I had perception and another family member of mine that have brought in uh will have the same you know you have a i or perception of what the person the organization or whatever you what you're going in and when I had some trepidation on when I first attended a a straight Lane uh as a visitor and I had some of those same things like sister Haron was talking about the um ones that she was but when I visit and saw and felt the welc and how everything that I was concerned about was not true it was just my perception in my mind but the congregation and everyone there dispel all of that by the way I was treated by the welcoming and everything where I had concern it was um it was uh zeroed out by the way that I was treated and welcomed and that is what I see we just need to do is how we as sister pinkton was saying how we treat the persons coming in and how we make them feel very good um okay uh that exactly where I wanted to go to but that's all good comments uh and uh it's good discussion um when we start looking at thing we remember about liberality in Christ is we are we do have a lot of Liberty in Christ but we do not have the Liberty to sin or to become a stumbling block for someone else uh that is the key things we keep in mind we start thinking about Liberty and all these things now we're going to get into the the the text uh our time is is uh too far G for today but we're going to get to the text on uh next week in uh chapter one go ahead and read ahead in that because you're going to see in uh that text how Paul how he greets the people how he greets the people he always ensures that that he connects with the people and there's a lot of lessons in here when we start talking about being mature Christians we start talking about how we reach people how we go about uh uh communicating with people Paul the holy spirit is leading Paul to be a master at doing this and how he greets the people how he uh speaks of what he desires for them and then he goes into Christ and uh the sacrifice that Christ made before he starts to uh make his case whatsoever he's already put the recipients of letter first then he put God at the preeminence and then he delivers what he you know hopes what his hope is uh before he uh even gets into the delivery of scripture and uh and with that our last couple minutes let's go ahead and take a look at the beginning of the passage here and I'm going to drop down that share and bring up another one here if I can really quickly uh chapter one of Galatians and uh I hope everyone can see that and it says that uh Paul an apostle not of men now this right up front and we start looking this is King James Paul an apostle not of men neither by man but by Jesus Christ and God the Father who raised him from the dead right up front right up front uh he's establishing that that his work and everything he did is not of anything that go anything that man has done but what God has done right up front and uh that is important when we start to when he starts to make his his um message when he starts to make his case it's important that he expresses exactly where the Authority or where he's coming from and uh looking at like I said this in King James version is a little bit different in some of the other texts but he's establishing right up front who he is and that he is doing this not of men but of of by Jesus Christ I'm not going to speaking to you about things of myself I'm going to be thinking speaking to you about things of God now this is something when we're talking to people when we are expressing God's word to people we are expressing our motivation to people things that we need to establish up front it stops the front it's not of me it's not you know if you want to hear something of me you probably going to hear something wrong wrong but if you're going to hear something of God you know that's right you know that's right and see the thing is is in Paul's establish up front that is not it's not about me although later he has to go in and explain you know some things about himself but this is not about me we don't want to get into that discussion about me we get discussion about personalities or anything like that we want to meet on something we can agree on and that is on the word of God on the will of God on the grace of God we can agree on these things so he's starting that out with that point of agreement uh when he uh starts the scripture and I'm going to go ahead and do this first paragraph then we're going to at the end after we have comments it said and all the Brethren which are with me unto the Church of Galatians I mean everybody was there and the people knew these folks because Paul never traveled alone he he brought the people with him all brother which me unto the Church of galatia Grace be to you and peace from the god from God the father now keep in mind when we're looking at this text the words that are in italic are added to make the senters go a little smoother but he says grace to you what he saying and peace from God the father in other words you God's grace we are wishing God's grace on you up front and uh and from our Lord Jesus Christ understand that was a big teachable moment right then a big teachable moment because he established that that Grace and peace from God and he established the separate nature of the Lord Jesus Christ which was something that was a really big deal for the uh Jews and those who had an old belief system uh the our Lord and savior is is Jesus Christ okay who gave himself for our sins how has he become Lord and savior he gave himself for our sins that he might Deliver Us from this present evil world according to the will of God going back to the father this is what the father intended that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ would come and give himself so that he could Deliver us from our sins he's keeping that message upfront to the Galatians understand they heard the gospel during his first missionary journey they heard the gospel but since they heard the gospel people have brought in things that have polluted that initial message have polluted the initial message so he's bringing it back to the facts bring it down back to the Baseline and he's saying that he might Deliver Us from this present evil world according to the will of God and our father again bringing it back to where we can understand to whom be the glory forever and ever amen I mean he has established upfront that the words I'm going to speak to you are of our father of God and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who paid the price for our Salvation to Deliver Us from this evil World these are this is where I'm coming from this is who I am this is what I'm saying to you upfront to establish the case and establish the beginning of the message here so uh our time is is is pretty much up but I want to open up for a couple of final comments and then we we're gonna have to get out of here go ahead sister go go three I just want to say thank you I was so confused reading that first paragraph to me it just wasn't very clear I just wanted to thank you for making it so clear I understand it now thank you welc any other thoughts is cargon I appreciate everybody being I really appreciate the conversation I appreciate the comments uh that everybody uh add it it is a very important uh subject and uh uh and always feel free to jump in and we can compare notes we can and talk to one another and we can meet according to how the Lord wants us to carry ourselves that's what we're here for so we can lift each other up so we can that's what edifying each other really means when what what you did tonight you're talking to each other lifting each other up according according to the will of God that's what we're here for so I really appreciate all the comments I appreciate everybody being here we're going to pick up here and we're going to go through the scripture on uh next week uh on time we going to get this thing going I appreciate it and uh it's it's time for us to head on over to the devotion thank you thank you brother good night thank you good night night pingon good good night good
