you all today you know right now in our world i know there's a lot of craziness happening but it's nothing that is a surprise to us because we even read these things in the book of revelation right when it tells us that nation will rise against nation but the beauty in this times because it could seem like with everything happening what is beautiful about it but the beauty is that whenever we see chaos we also see an awakening of purpose we also see that god is revealing and stripping the reason why he placed us here so this is really a time for us to really be dialed in to who we are to the god we serve and what he has called us to do and as i was preparing for today i remember you know a couple days back the lord in a dream kept speaking to me about faith and he gave me this phrase that almost like i was hearing the questions that people were asking right and the question was is it a faith problem right have you ever felt like you know the thing that you're after you're you're wondering god i feel like i have faith but i don't know why things are not happening and the question that you've been pondering on is that is it a faith problem i want us to read this scripture it's in matthew 17 20 and we're going to unpack it a little bit but the scripture says so jesus said to them right and we'll talk about who them are and why jesus had this response it says so jesus said to them because of your unbelief for assuredly i say to you if you have faith as a mustard seed you will say to this mountain move from here to there and it will move and nothing will be impossible for you now when we read scriptures like this right i think about my younger self you know when i was a kid and i i mean like i took the bible literally and you should except some of the things i did that were foolish like when i studied the old testament for the first time and i hadn't yet progressed into the new testament and so i saw the way they offered animals to the lord and growing up in nigeria you know you kill your animals in your backyard and they were killing the chicken and i ran and i'm like no we need to offer the chicken to the lord and my mom was like stephanie no you need to come to the new testament [Laughter] you need to make some progress you know but when i would read scriptures like this right that anything is possible i would try to close the door with my mind you know i'm like god i have faith that the door will close with my mind right but i'm sure in more you know mature situations we have tried to exercise faith and it feels like we are still being faced with impossibilities it feels like we're still being faced with mountains that don't seem to move and in this situation we see jesus saying if you have the faith of a mustard seed you will say to this mountain he was very practical he was not being you know he was not trying to give some kind of parable he was very practical in this teaching that you would say for it to move from here to there and it would move now i don't know about you but last week i mean we had the cold experience which you know just experiencing first of all the vision of our pastor pastor toray roberts i mean it was absolutely life-changing and during that whole experience one of the key things for me it really felt like this huge impartation of faith right where i just felt like my faith was on the next level i mean you how did you guys fill in the card look at that right we i i was just like you know what nothing can stop me i'm just unstoppable there's a song unstoppable i started singing it in my head you know and then i get home you know the next day um kanye has a documentary on netflix i watch the documentary and i'm just you know just inspiration is just you know just flowing like a river right but all of this faith doesn't mean anything if it doesn't bring change all of this faith doesn't mean anything if it doesn't produce impact if it doesn't produce change and so when we see jesus saying if you have the faith of a mustard seed you will say to this mountain move from here today now just to give a little back story of this and for those taking notes i also want you to write down mark 9 14 to 27 because to really talk about what is happening in this scripture i'm gonna pull from both people's um just their explanation and their recount of the story right because in the scripture many of us have heard about you know the boy the little boy who was oppressed by a demon right and so in the oppression of that demonic spirit it caused him to have epileptic seizures now during these seizures you could you could tell that this has brought his father just great sorrow and disappointment so the scriptures tells us that the father brings this boy to just jesus's disciples he brings him to the disciples and the disciples could not um the demon was still oppressing this child and then he brings him to jesus and he says you know what master i brought my son to your disciples but they could not heal him and jesus tells the man he's like if you believe anything is possible and the man is crying this is a father this is a father who loves his child he's concerned the bible tells us that with tears in his eyes he says to jesus i believe but help my unbelief right and then immediately jesus cast out the spirit and when jesus did the details are so so important because the man comes to jesus and he says my son is dealing with a deaf spirit right jesus cast out the spirit and says you deaf and dumb spirit come out of the boy and don't return anymore then the disciples are perplexed they're like how is it that jesus was able to cast out the spirit but we did it and jesus reveals to the disciples you have the same problem that his father did he said it is because of your unbelief now but if you have faith the size of a mustard seed you will say to this the mountain this isn't that and it's such a contradiction right because on one hand there's faith and on another hand there is unbelief and jesus is saying it's the same problem because the disciples i believe is safe to assume that they had faith because for them to be confused that means they prayed for the boy that means they rebuked the spirit and you have to understand that prior to this the scriptures tells us that jesus had given them the authority to cast out unclean spirits so they did what they were accustomed to they were like we pray we rebuke the spirit comes out of the boy and boom that's it we had faith to believe that he will be healed so they're like jesus but why is it that the boy wasn't healed and jesus said it is because of your unbelief have you ever lived in the contradiction have you ever lived in the place where you have faith but you also have unbelief now i have never talked about um my engagement you know but maybe because he's really a gift to me so i just keep him to myself but prior to meeting my fiance right i remember being in a space where i had faith that god is the one who connects people who brings people together but i also had on belief that this could happen for me right when you go through disappointments and all kinds of things and you're just like i know that god can do this but i don't know if i believe it for myself and so for a very long time i used to think that unbelief dealt with personal issues that unbelief spoke to when i couldn't see myself in the very promises of god that he is able to do but then i read this scripture and i'm looking at two realities of unbelief because for the father i'm like okay it makes sense why he may have unbelief because on one hand he's experienced multiple disappointment he's seen his son tormented by this spirit so he even though he believes that something could happen he's also trying to maybe not set up himself for another form of disappointment so he's like yeah but maybe i'm not sure but then the disciples it had nothing to do with them they were practicing what they've always done they were praying they were rebuking so i recognized that this this thing about unbelief is not the way i always saw it and so i started studying the word unbelief and really and this might not be a shocker but it was a shocker to me that unbelief actually speaks to the weakness of your faith that unbelief is not about the absence of faith but it's the weakness of your faith and so when we see jesus saying that it's not about you having this great measure of faith that if you have the faith of a mustard seed you can produce impact you can produce change jesus is telling us that the type of faith that produces results is not qualified by size but it's qualified by strength that it's not about the size of the faith but it's the strength of the faith you see romans 12 3 i want you to write this down and studied it in your own time but romans 12 3 really confirms to us that god has given to each and every person a certain measure of faith faith is not the problem you already have faith god has given everyone a measure of faith that's why jesus is like it's not a faith issue because if you ever see a mustard tea i remember a friend gave me uh uh just like a pack of mustard seeds it is extremely tiny so jesus is very strategic in his language he's like it's not about the measure you already have faith what we need to deal with is what has weakened your faith because the faith that produces impact is a faith that is strong that is strengthened and i was like god what is that what is really the thing that strengthens our faith and it is hidden in this text because like i said when jesus came to pray for the boy jesus revealed the identity of the spirit and he revealed the strategy of the spirit first of all he said the spirit is not only death it is a deaf and dumb spirit and he said the strategy of the spirit is to leave and come back so it is possible that the disciples prayed for the boy rebuked the demon and he left and then came back so when jesus was praying he said first of all i'm not just this is not a general prayer i have understanding about the matter when jesus even gives the disciples the example of if you have faith the size of a mustard seed you will say to this mountain he was not speaking in general terms he was speaking to a specific mountain and he said if you say to this mountain and move it from here to there there was a there that the mountain would move to and the lord began to open my eyes that the secret ingredient to strengthen faith is understanding jesus had understanding like i want us to read a scripture in proverbs 4 7 right it says this wisdom is the principle thing therefore get wisdom and in all you're getting get understanding that that is is just so mind-blowing to me wisdom is the principle thing but in all you're getting get understanding now there's it's always felt like there is um this clash or or maybe like um you know understanding wisdom and knowledge are all wrapped up into one but there is a difference right because when we think about knowledge we think about truth right we think about information but understanding has to do deal with the measure in by which you comprehend that information how you comprehend the truth and wisdom controls how you apply the truth so in this context for for instance knowledge is that there is a problem here that this boy is tormented by a demonic spirit understanding is the identity and the strategy of the demon wisdom is how jesus was able to rebuke the demon and have him to never return was when jesus said now you will come out and never enter him again it was how he applied the information that he was able to comprehend you see very similar i'll give the example of let's say a person is is sick right and they're going through something in their body and the doctors are telling them you're not going to make it knowledge is jesus has all power and authority understanding is jesus has all power and authority and so this sickness would also bow to his authority and wisdom is so i'm gonna live my life like i know i'm gonna have a tomorrow i'm not going to sit in depression i'm not going to sit in anxiety i'm going to keep building i'm going to keep working towards the things that god has said it is how i apply what i have comprehended in god and so when the bible tells us with all your getting get understanding it is so i mean with all yeah we all you're getting get understanding it is so that it brings us into the place where our faith is activated where your faith is strengthened because what i'm beginning to learn is that it is not the measure of your faith that is the problem but it is the measure of your understanding that is why there is the difference sometimes when you see someone would just say jesus nothing happens another person also said jesus and the whole atmosphere changes there was an understanding that he was that he has deepened himself in that when he says the name he's not just saying it without wisdom he's not saying it without insight he's not saying it without understanding when he says the name of jesus he's speaking about it from a very deep place and that is why even when sometimes you you would even watch that when god wants to do unusual things and unusual miracles even though it doesn't seem that it doesn't seem to make sense to the average person when you look at the people that he uses you recognize that these were people of understanding there's a scripture that we we learn about in the book of acts and this is when god used handkerchiefs that touched the skin that just just came in contact with paul and those handkerchiefs delivered people from demonic spirits but when you look at the life of paul everything about paul was about understanding paul was a teacher of the mysteries of god so his life exuded that this was not just some random guy that god just selected paul lived in the realm of understanding that god i'm not just hearing about you but i want to comprehend who you are understanding is the difference in how we live our lives when we say jesus is lord because you can know the truth the truth is jesus is lord that is the truth that's knowledge but understanding says so if he is lord then i must submit myself to him as though he is my lord because that is who he is and wisdom is how i live my life how i reveal the fact that jesus is lord over my life you see so when we say things like this about okay faith and understanding you know one of the one of the scriptures that really helps us to tie this in is hebrews 11 6 right hebrews 11 6 says this without faith it is impossible to please him him being god for he who comes to god must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder for those of those who do diligently seek him so it says without faith it's impossible to please god and many times we just stop there without faith so i need faith but it's not just any kind of random faith because it is not just in knowing that god is but knowing who he is that is understanding without faith it is impossible to please god for he who comes to him must know that he is and that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him it is the understanding of who of god's nature that pleases him that is why when we learn about a man named solomon in the scriptures there was a time where literally god encountered him in a dream and gave him a blank check he said solomon what is it that you want me to do for you say anything and i would do it and solomon said god give me an understanding heart that you have made me ruler you have favored me and caused me to become king over your people i'm not here to ask you for riches i'm not here to ask you for anything but god give me an understanding heart and the bible says and solomon's speech pleased god that same pleasure that god has when the bible says without faith it is impossible to please god when solomon said god give me an understanding heart the bible says and it pleased god understanding is what strengthens our faith sometimes the gap sometimes the gap when we feel we are not certain about what is happening in our lives the gap is understanding that what you know just by whether it's under a teaching or what you've heard and what you you you believe to some degree you had your measure of understanding in that very thing has not grown for example a very popular thing we say is god is love and we say it or god loves me very it sounds very simple very easy but when you come into the understanding of what that means i mean you would live such a stress-free life whenever we find ourselves panicked anxious by circumstances we have not come into the understanding of god's love we have not come into the understanding of what it means that the creator of the universe is crazy about me because for god to love me that means he is watching over me for god to love me that means he is concerned about the things that concern me for god to love me that means i am truly the apple of his eye when we find ourselves anxious about tomorrow we have not comprehended the truth of god's love and we're out there looking for another word looking for another hit and all we need to do is grow in the basics of our faith that i am loved by god i am loved by god it it removes all types of judgment rejection abandonment it says the creator of the universe loves me and he is all powerful and and he can do anything he is masterful at being a waymaker so when this door shut it is not because i'm unloved it is not because i'm not accepted it is because actually in his love you begin to see everything through the love through the lens of love when you face rejection you say oh wow god was just protecting me when you face failure you say wow god was giving me a personalized lesson you start to see life through the lens of his love when something happens to you you're like oh my gosh i'm about to experience god as a comforter you don't look at loss even if it's the loss of a loved one you don't look at it like god forgot about you you say god i'm going to experience your comfort i've never met you in this way at the end of the day life and one thing that is is for sure is that we all have an expiration date on this earth and you don't experience loss and i'm saying this because even god is making this so heavy in my heart i keep sensing there is someone and you feel so abandoned and rejected and forgotten by god because of the loss of loved ones that you have experienced within the past year but one thing that is that is certain is that the moment our pastor put it in a way that i i don't even know how to say it in my in my on my best day but there was a wisdom i gained from our pastor when he talked about the moment you get into this earth you're actually growing closer to your death that is the one thing that is guaranteed but when you see life through the lens of god's love you're not looking at life like things are working against you you see everything like wow god your word says that you are you comfort those who mourn i'm going to experience your comfort the love of god do you just know that he is love or do you understand that he is love do you just say it that god god oh god loves you oh bless you you know someone sneezes oh god bless you but you won't know what it means for god to bless you do you know that just be being a child of god means that you're blessed when we are able to comprehend the simple things it changes our life forever understanding is what strengthens our faith is what activates our faith to be able to create great impact in our lives and in the world around us and so there are a few things that i want there are four key things that i believe every believer has to be committed to when it comes to the areas we need to grow in understanding right and i'll say what they are and then we'll kind of go into it so one as you're as you're taking notes the first thing is your assignment right you can say your assignment or your purpose the second thing is times and seasons the third thing is kingdom principles and the fourth thing is god's promises and i'm sure there are many more things that the holy spirit can unpack to you but these are the key things that he highlighted to me and so starting off with your assignment and your purpose you know one thing i loved about jesus and studying about the life of jesus is that everything he did was a unique assignment jesus never saw two miracles the same that is why you can see jesus healing two blind men very differently and you're wondering but if they're both blind isn't there just one formula for it but everything was a unique assignment that is why in the scriptures you would read when jesus would say things like we must go to the next towns because he had an assignment in that town you have to look at every moment every opportunity god gives you as a unique assignment the difference between jesus and the disciples in this moment is that the disciples thought this was an assignment just like every other assignment somebody has a spirit we go we pray we rebuke and we walk away i remember i remember a couple years ago um encountered it was at a conference and there was a lady who was um you know oppressed by a by evil spirit and her body was moving in all kinds of ways you know it was like a movie and we were there sweating you know i command you to leave her and that spirit was having a field day with us just a party and we at the point i got frustrated because i said that you cannot embarrass us okay we are children of the most high god and it was embarrassing us you know to be honest and i walked away and it was where we were was like in the hotel so i walked away and there were these like glass this um glass cups and i looked at the glass cup and i could never forget this and the holy spirit said to me claire as glass and i'm like what does that mean clear as glass and he started showing me how what gave access to that spirit in this young lady's life was unforgiveness that there are some things that needs to be cleared up and through and and when it's clara's glass meaning that she is not blocked she is not contaminated by bitterness and this unforgiveness is re like she she releases the weight of unforgiveness that spirit would release its whole that is what it's holding on to you know it's just like you know even for some bible connected to that you know the scripture would say do not let the sun go down on your anger so you don't give the enemy a foothold right there are certain things that can cause access for spirits to bring oppression and we we you know i went back and this time around i was not trying to scream shout i said this is embarrassing and so i commanded the spirit first of all to stop whatever it's doing i want to talk to the girl and i start and then the lord revealed that it was her father there was issues that she had with her father and i asked her i said what is going on with you and your father and she opened up and there was so much pain so much bitterness and we just had a conversation with her about forgiveness about why even at the end of the day like understanding that the father was also a broken man and when she came to the point like it was a very emotional moment when she broke down and released her father that spirit left her and what that moment taught me was every assignment is unique just because you went and prayed for someone that said i rebuke you evil spirit and the spirit jumped out doesn't mean it's the same thing for the next person it doesn't mean and this is not limited to prayer this is life if god calls you into if you're an actor for example every set has a unique assignment every movie has a unique assignment there are people that god has ordained for you to meet on that set that perhaps your testimony will draw them closer to him you don't just look at it like another day another job you know just snagged another bag everything you're not looking at it like transactional based on your personal benefit yes you might get some money out of it and that's great but you have to look at it as a kingdom person you recognize that everything that you are involved in you are sent by god so when you're going into the movie set when you're going into whatever it is if you're if you do makeup if you do hair if whatever it looks like if you're a nurse every time you walk into the hospital you're an assignment i remember my aunt recently she was she's my i have on who's a nurse and there was a day and every time she goes into work she's praying god open my eyes show me who i can help like she look it's ministry for her and one particular day there was a there was a couple that came in and the you know the wife was having a baby the man is sitting down and the holy spirit was telling my aunt to focus on this man that something is not right with him and so she she just started paying attention to him everyone is focused on the woman because she's the one having a baby my honest focus on this man and recognize that he looks like he's having symptoms of a heart attack so they she called another nurse and she's like could you just like look at how he's moving and next thing they they brought in a doctor just to check upon him the man was literally having a heart attack and because they were able to catch the signs early they lit i mean they save this man's life every single thing is an assignment and none of it is the same it's unique every day is an assignment that's why david will say things like you know i mean not even david went in in the lord's prayer in the model prayer you would hear things like give us this day our daily bread right there is something there is a there is a new word for the day there is something new we have to experience about the day and so you have to grow in the understanding of your assignment and your purpose that you are committed to saying god what is it that you have called me to do and what is the unique thing in how i'm supposed to approach it today how i'm supposed to approach it on the set every time i preach it's not you know we're not just looking um going through the uh like a bible you know read your bible in in a year and then today's reading is in exodus and i'm like what kind of word can i bring out of exodus every time it's an assignment god what is it that you want to say to your people because you see the lord knows who exactly is on the other side he knows who is going to be on the receiving end he knows who is listening to the message today and who's going to listen to it in five years from now the lord knows and so we cannot play with these moments as just random we have to grow in our understanding of what it is that god has called us to do because for example and you can write this scripture down in proverbs 18 2 it says this a fool takes no pleasure in understanding but only in expressing his opinion a fool takes no pleasure and understanding only in expressing his opinion you cannot be like a fool it's not a curse where this in the bible the bible says a foe right you cannot you cannot embrace the identity or the nature of a full that all you care about is that your your your life is governed and not it sometimes it's done subconsciously but you have to look at what governs your life is your life governed by your opinions that you're you're shaped by your own wisdom well i already know what's going to happen when i go in there i'm going to do abcd that i'm going to walk out or are you surrendered to what it is that the lord wants to do are you surrendered to comprehend god i know this is a new day that i'm in i know that that's knowledge but what is it that you've called me to do in this new day that's understanding lord i want to i want to grow in the measure of my of of what this day holds for me that's understanding right now the second thing is times and seasons times and seasons you can write this scripture down first chronicles 12 32 and you can write that down to study in your own time but that that scripture literally talks to us about there were some men known as the sons of issachar the sons of issachar were men who literally walked in authority had honor had favor simply because they had understanding of times and seasons and what the nation of israel was supposed to do during those times and seasons right and times and seasons are so critical because your life is locked up in times and seasons god has locked up the key moments of your life in times and seasons you see when i talked about you know before meeting my fiance i was kind of just in this weird space right and then there was a particular day that weird space when it came to relationships right because one thing we don't talk about child being you know i would talk about it because i don't know how many people are experienced that being single in ministry is very fascinating very very fascinating i'm just i'm gonna just put it out there because one you know you have to keep focused you're you're you're spending so much time in church but you can't look at the congregants in the church you know i remember i had to make a covenant i don't even know why i'm saying this but i had to make a covenant with the lord i said lord i cannot i will not date anyone who um comes to our church and some people are like what does that mean i said no because i need to be focused i cannot be praying with you and wondering if you're my husband i need to pray with you and focus on what the spirit of the lord is saying so it is so unique it is a very weird place and then for everyone you know when whatever your situation looks like i mean single in 20 22 is interesting you know you had covet all kinds of things that happened right but i remember in this was in 2020 i think it was 2020 or 2019 the lord gave me this no he wasn't even really a vision he said to me he told me the age i would be when i would become a mother and when i looked at it i realized god i've always been in your plan i'm frustrated because i'm thinking that something is delayed but the reality is i've always been in your plan because if that is the age then surely something around sin is coming right [Laughter] and in the masterful plan of god because one thing that the lord knew was i would not settle right i was i would pray prayers that lord before us if if it's to settle give me the the grace of singleness you know give me that paul anointing right because i would not do that because for me what the lord has called me to do is very critical and you know even learning and um learning from our pastors you see that even marriage serves a purpose it has an assignment to it and so that was one thing i said if it would draw me away from my assignment that's not it and i would not said i was the lord if that's all you got then just give me pause and 19. you know but the lord had had some things other things planned right and when i when we met and all that beautiful stuff happened i was like this is all in sync with god's plans i was never out of god's plan and why i'm saying this is that when god gave me understanding about the times and seasons connected to a desire it brought it brought ease many times we're living in frustration and anxiety because we're we're calling a season of preparation a season of manifestation the season that god has marked as preparation you've called it manifestation the season that god has called wilderness you're calling it promised land and because there is it's not it's not an agreement you live in this place of frustration because you're identifying your season in a way that god has not called it to be and so we have to grow in our understanding of times and seasons even concerning our lives if there's something right now stressing you out if there's something you feel like god this should have happened i mean like what was going on you know this should have happened last year then i challenge you to take it before the lord and ask him lord what does this season of my life represent and have humility don't come at feeling like you know everything but come with an open heart and say lord what does this season represent in my life there are some seasons that the lord will literally tell this is a season of rest i want you to just rest in this season i want you to get connected to family and friends this is not a season i'm announcing you this is a season i need you to rest because in god's wisdom he knows what is coming and he knows what is coming is going to pull so much from you that is why you even have even in the scriptures you see how jesus had a season where he was hidden and that's why even in the bible we don't know many things that he was doing we don't know if he was riding horses or you know i know he has some friends you know there's a lot of his life that is hidden from us but that was a season where jesus was being prepared because the few key things we know you know you would read scriptures like when he was in the temple now when he's announced and revealed they will say things like and jesus came into the temple and read as he normally would so that would give you insight that okay jesus during some of your hidden moments you were studying the word you were reading the torah you were reading you were you were you know and immersing yourself in the word but he was hidden and when the time came jesus didn't try to announce himself the bible says he was led by the spirit into the wilderness everything he did he was led and he it brought him into an understanding and so if anything is stressing your life out right now ask the lord is this actually the season because you see what satan does um one of our prayer ministers cg we were on a prayer call and she said something i loved so much and she talked about how delayed gratification that how satan tries to use delayed you know your delayed gratification like against you pretty much that because what you want is delayed now he's trying to present to you all these new routes like what come on why don't you take this one why don't you like let's just make it quicker i have a faster way to the promised land but at the end of the day we have to be honest with ourselves i'm a child of god i serve the purpose of the kingdom it's not just about my gratification i want what god has for me because the beauty is that the bible even says this the the blessings of the lord it make us rich and added no sorrow that's the difference between what comes from god and what comes from the enemy because what comes from the enemy would always compromise and would always steal from the fullness of what god has for you and so understanding times and season especially even in the seasons that we're in in the world right now it's easy to read the headlines and read news and be so panicked and and be worried and frustrated and scared for your life but we can come to the lord and say god give me an understanding of what is happening in our world so that i'm praying from a place of strategy you see when i understand times and seasons i live a life of precision i'm not living randomly i'm not living just you know going about aimlessly i have precision about my life i recognize that you know what this is a season that god has called me to prepare i recognize this is the season that god has called this to happen and i can i can give myself to it this might be a waiting season for me you know recently i talked about what do you while i'm waiting right to think what god does while we wait so whatever season we're in where it's easy to submit to it when you know that that is a season that god has ordained for you to be in and he's not doing anything new jesus went through it too jesus went through a hidden season jesus went through a wilderness season jesus went through a season he was celebrated jesus went through a season he was persecuted jesus went through a season he was elevated so there is no season that you may feel that you are in that is new to god jesus experienced it all he knew what it can you imagine what it must have felt like he knew who he was he knew that he had come to be the messiah can you imagine jesus that's why even as a kid he almost left his family i'm sure he was tired if jesus was in this culture he i'm tired all right just forget the r you know just tired because there was a moment jesus leaves his parents he said you know what you know what i'm done y'all he goes he's you know checking out the temple he's reading things in the temple he said look i'm about to step into my uh office and my anointing and when they looked for him and they're like because they realized like mary was like joseph where's jesus that was your responsibility where's the boy now we've lost the messiah when they found jesus he was like don't you know we think you see when we quote this scripture we think like yes jesus was just about his father's business now this was a little petty jesus said don't you know i must be about my father's business basically joseph you are not my daddy okay i have a daddy he is up there and in here and why am i saying he was petty i'm sorry lord but this is this is the bible but because literally after that then the bible says and then jesus became obedient to his parents because that was not the season for him to be acting up so jesus knows what it feels like to be hidden and you're just like listen it's my time to shine okay he wanted that he was like look i came from somewhere i don't know why you guys have me hanging around with all these little children like he was not a kid makes me think of my nephew my nephew just turned three this is i'm just deviating but my nephew will see people that are five years old and he's like oh a baby i said boy you were younger than this kid but jesus went through it there is no season of your life that you're experiencing that he did not experience the same thing he experienced it all but the difference is that when you start submitting to your understanding of times and seasons it puts you at ease you recognize god i'm not outside your plans for me i'm actually right on track i'm right where you need me to be right so understanding times and seasons understanding kingdom principles right you see obedience tithing humility honor all of these things are kingdom principles and when you have a comprehension of them you know how to exercise it because you see heaven operates like a legal system right when that's why they use legal language they call jesus an advocate satan the accuser of the brethren it's all legal language and so when and that's why even when we talk about jesus is our righteousness because you know he's the one where because when we show up we look guilty you know but jesus shows up he is purely innocent right so he's the one advocating for us but when you tap into the principles of of of what god's truth is you know how to exercise it in your life that's why like in deuteronomy 28 the bible talks about the rewards for obedience that when you are there is a reward behind your obedience you see sometimes you're wondering you know god you might be crying out to god to do something and the answer is basically be obedient our pastor pastor talked about this last sunday how for many of you actually for all of us the greatest tool that you have is obedience so you might feel like god i don't have anything nothing is working and god is like but what did i tell you to do right use that because there is a reward for obedience when you're a tither you have something to bring before god when things are looking off about your finances there was a lady i remember the lord on a random day spoke to me and told me i should give her a call and tell her to start tithing i didn't know if she did tight or not so i gave her a call and i said really the holy spirit put on my heart that you need to start tithing and she you know she mentioned that she doesn't tithe and she was like but i'm a great giver you know i give all the time i say yeah but it's under your control you give when you want to even though it could be a big amount but tithing is the discipline of humility tithing says you know what lord because you know what every time you get income 10 okay god 10 how much is this 10 percent it's easier for me to just you know just give when i want to and generosity is also a principle we don't it's not like we do it because we're you know looking for the reward but everything about god is intentional and tithing is intentional and so this was like a while back i told this lady i was like hey this is what the lord put on my heart to tell you so recently she gave me a call and she said you know i really just i need prayer and i'm like what's going on and she mentioned that you know i just feel like things are off with my um my finances and i if something is not it's not like settling right and as she's talking the holy spirit reminds me of the same thing tell her to tithe and i asked i said did you start tithing she said no i said well start tithing because you it there is it's a supernatural now i'm not saying that if you're a tither and you're not responsible with money that money is just gonna appear no you will be a negative right but if you are responsible right tithing is is so supernatural because it brings you into the access of god's economy because what you're what you do when you tithe you have to tie with understanding not as a religious practice what you do when you tithe this you're saying that god this comes from you so i'm sowing a tent into your kingdom but the key element is that it comes from you and what comes from you does not dry it doesn't run dry what comes from you is always flowing so lord i am just acknowledging myself as a vessel as a steward of kingdom finances when you tithe with understanding you recognize i can't lack because i am a faithful steward of kingdom finances and the bible says if you are faithful with little god will make you ruler over much the reason why god gives so many principles is for you to know what should guide your life he's revealing to you this is how the kingdom of heaven works so when you tithe with understanding you say lord when you have money problems you're like oh wait god no something's wrong because this would only apply to someone who is connected to the natural system of the economy i'm connected to heaven's economy so this should not be my experience that is tithing with understanding and when you tap into these kingdom principles you have access in ways that you should not have things op doors open up for you that you don't understand it doesn't mean that you know you might be you know driving a a you know bentley that flies as a plane tomorrow but what i'm trying to explain to you is that god will protect you whether you're in the wilderness or you're in the promised land that there is a supernatural protection and i shared it with that lady you see it is the understanding of principles that allow that even just that propelled god to give ad 15 years to a man's life there was a king named hezekiah i mean his story was already written it was not that god was taken years from his life because the bible could have easily said and if you don't know the story of hezekiah it's a powerful story just google it and it will show up right the way you know it is in the bible but the bible literally says that when hezekiah hezekiah was sick and it was revealed to him that this sickness would lead would end in death and hezekiah was like oh no he began to pray and his prayer was very strategic he wasn't just crying he said god remember how i have been loyal to you remember how i have like how how my heart has been pure before you hezekiah was using the strategy of kingdom principles he said god i am a vessel on this earth that is faithful you can't just take my life like that if you're looking for people to be faithful i have been faithful to you i have been loyal to you this did it caused something that we have never seen in the bible because if god was not if if it was just that maybe hezekiah got sick randomly and you know he was just gonna die premature death the bible would have said and he recovered from his illness but the bible actually said and god added 15 years to his life god changed the plans that were written before time concerning the books of hezekiah and he said hezekiah you know what you bring up a great argument you have been faithful i'm over here looking for people that are not even born you you write down the earth you know you can continue in the good bidding that you're doing and he says that's you know cool i'll give you 15 more years kingdom principles when you understand kingdom principles it changes everything one of my mentors she she was barren for a while i might have shared a story before she was barren and then she tapped into what the what the the command of god when he said be fruitful and multiply she said there is no way this is god's command and i'm barren so she made it her declaration that god i would my life this womb would declare who you are unless you're a liar then this will testify that you're a liar she began to mold herself and and tailor herself to the word of god she said this is your command so it must happen and and the way she explained it it was similar to when you know god said let there be light it said light had to respond he said let god did not even focus on darkness the only reason we know about darkness is because the story was told the bible didn't say you know what god looked and you know the god saw the darkness was very dark right he just said there's a solution to this i command light to be and there was light and she said if that's the case when you it you didn't give it as a suggestion you said be fruitful and multiply and man has to respond she said my body must respond to your command now she has two kids comprehension of the word of god that it was not just a word to adam and eve but adam and eve represented every generation this was god's command to us right and so lastly god's promises the scripture says this to us it says that all the promises of god are yes and amen right he if he said it he's on the yes side but we have to recognize the what we must understand about the amen side that's on us because amen is agreement lord you said it i agree so what does that look like for us right that's what we have to grow because you can't just say that you know what the lord has told me to do this great thing and you do nothing on your end because the lord has given you a promise it is for you to grow in your understanding about what does this look like for me right there's been um there's a project that i've been working on with some incredible people and god began to give us so much promise and vision concern in it and we could have just sat and be like oh god is going to do some amazing things but we had to sit and say okay what does that look like what is the thing that we have to do and in the entertainment field you have to create a pitch deck and different things like that so we made a pitch deck we made a scissor reel and then we started experiencing the favor on the other side of that so god gave us a promise but our agreement looked like works there was something we had to do to align ourselves in the manner in which we believe what god said and so for you what does that look like did god give you a promise you're going to be a new york times best seller but you have not wrote the book right you you can't be in your house and be an honorary you know bestseller so what does that look like that has god told you about what what he's called you to do in the industry what are what does your works what does your agreement look like with what god said we have to grow in understanding what it is that we ought to be doing because of what has been revealed to us whatever the lord has revealed to you what does it look like he's revealed to you he's talked to you about the ministry what does it look like how are you stewarding the people already around you how are you pouring into the people around you because if you find that frustrating you're not you're not in agreement with what god is showing you the business what does it look like what is your agreement now with god are you working on the business plan are you working on the vision are you are you working on what does you know what would your the year one will the hires look like in year one because that is your agreement right and so as you prepare you see that god begins to release the provision and so when i say all of this at the end of the day we have to recognize that this level of understanding comes from the holy spirit right i'll read one more chapter before we close one more verse and that is isaiah 11 2 right and this was speaking about jesus when the holy spirit came upon him and he said the spirit of the lord shall rest upon him the spirit of wisdom and understanding the spirit of counsel and might the spirit of knowledge and the fear of the lord now all of these spirits were seven in total and in the book of revelation we see when it talks about the seven spirits of god but the seven spirits of god speaks to the fullness of the holy spirit and so i'm sharing this is because understanding is the holy spirit it flows from the holy spirit it is his essence it is his being he is the one who in partnership with him when we walk with him in intimacy with him the holy spirit brings us into knowledge understanding wisdom everything and so i'm saying this because in the times that we're living it is so critical whether even if it was different times life is about walking with jesus life is about walking with the lord and we should not get so caught up in wanting to work for him that we lose sight on what it means to walk with him and so my assignment today first of all was to tell you that maybe it's not a faith problem but it's a understanding the problem has to do with your measure of understanding but my real assignment is to tell you that this is a time to deepen your walk with the holy spirit whatever it looks like now doesn't mean that you rest there but to deepen your intimacy with the holy spirit because as you deepen your intimacy with the holy spirit he begins to reveal to you he begins to unfold your assignment the times and seasons connected to your life he begins to reveal all the key things that are essential to having the faith that moves mountains but it's time to deepen your intimacy what does your prayer life look like what does your your your fat your are you living a fasted life and i'm not saying that you fast all the days of your life but but what are the things that you have made a covenant with god to say no to because it is distracting to your walk you don't you know sometimes we think that a fast is the only time where we say no to distractions but the fast is actually what opens our eyes and tailors us to mold our life to the nature of the lord right it's not saying that your life will be boring life with jesus is fun i mean jesus was turning water into wine okay life of jesus is very fun but what i mean is that the things that are unique to you when the holy spirit begins convicting you of the things that you have to walk away from the things that you have to step away from the things that you that are not profitable to you are you obedient in those times what what is your response in those times you know it's so interesting um now i don't know you know the lord just has me talking about my fiance a lot today because i don't but we were having a conversation right and he mentioned something to me that i loved so much we were talking about intimacy and he said what happens if there are two people in a relationship and the woman is no longer interested in anything the man does whether he go all the things that she complains about if he goes out late if he whatever you know all the things that men be doing sometimes you know that'll be interesting but if she's no longer complaints he said what does that mean and i was like then the intimacy is gone because if she's not moved by him whether he's doing good or bad there is a lack of intimacy and he talked about he was like that's exactly the same thing that happens with the holy spirit in us because sometimes when we when we don't feel convicted anymore we think it's because the holy spirit is not convicting us but the reality is that we're so far from him that we no longer feel his convictions right and so get back to the place because you found yourself there's someone that you're listening to this and you found yourself doing the very things that there was a time in your life that the lord instructed you to walk away from and you're doing it and you have no conviction nothing is bothering you you feel just fine but could it be that it's not because you're not being convicted but your disobedience has distant you so far from the instructions and the leading of the holy spirit you see we have to get back to the place of hunger and hunger is not an anointing hunger is what we get into when we starve that the things that have been pulling us away from god when we begin to starve the distractions of life that is when we discover our hunger again in god and so that's what i came to tell everyone we have to get back to the place of a deeper hunger in god and you might be in a place now where you're just like god you are my everything go deeper because a walk with god is endless you would never have him figured out it's endless there are more things that you would be that he reveals his nature every single day never find that never be settled in where you are with god go deeper make time for him maybe if you can have moments where you just go on a vacation right just to focus have time whether it's in the morning it's in the evening it's in your car where it's just you and the lord and you're worshiping and you're journaling but get back to the place of intimacy because when you grow in understanding your life changes when you grow in understanding it would be one principle of the bible that will transform your life inside out you're thinking there's someone you're watching and you feel like i just need a prophetic word i just need someone to tell me that everything will be all right and all you need is to grow in the understanding that jesus sees you that god watches over you that god loves you just that would change your whole life and so i want to pray with you i want to pray that it would not just be what you're hearing is not just coming to you as words but it would move in the power of the holy spirit and it would establish and take root in your heart and in your mind and that he will guide you see the holy spirit is a teacher the job of ministers is not for your walk to end with us the job of ministers is not to say hey it stops here it is to point you to jesus so whenever you hear a message and it makes you feel like you you need to draw closer to god then our job is done but if you feel like this message was it and you closed your bible then we didn't do a good job because it should bring you into a deeper place of searching for god john the baptist the one who baptized jesus he talked about behold the messiah that is the job of every minister that the preaching the message the prayer is pointing you to god because life is not about a walk with a minister it's about a walk with god it's about a walk with the holy spirit and so after this message you take time to worship you take time to to think about god what does this practically look like in my life how how can i orchestrate my day how can i plan my life that you are my priority that i deepen my walk with you i can't be here to tell you exactly everything that's going to happen in your life for the next 60 years but the holy spirit can he's called a teacher he's called a helper right he's there to help you in your walk and i'm just here to help point you to the right direction and so let us pray if you are saying yes that god i i you know what i want to renew my intimacy with you and i just want you to just lift your hands up wherever you are except if you're driving you know that's not safe unless you have a you know tesla that drives itself but this is going a different direction just lift your hands up wherever you are and if you're saying that you know a lord i i'm not sure if i've actually i call you maybe i know you are lord but you are not my lord you want to give your life to jesus you something even as this message is going forth it is deepening your understanding about what does it mean for jesus to be lord in my life you want to give your life to him this is what life is about it is the most peaceful the most relaxing the most beautiful experience it doesn't mean it doesn't come with trials and tribulations but even when they come you see it through the love of god right so i want to pray with you too if you're saying yes to jesus i want you to just put in the chat here i am and you're going to see salvation instructions um you know how to like give us send us your information and we want to follow up with you but i want to pray with you heavenly father we just thank you for your love we thank you for your goodness we thank you lord god for what has taken place even in this moment we thank you heavenly father the holy spirit you are moving through this message and you're establishing your presence in the hearts and in the minds of your sons and daughters the heavenly father that you will teach us what it means to follow you you will teach us what it means to pursue you you will teach us what it means to go after your presence and lord in that safe place in that secret place we would grow in the measure of our understanding that we would be able to do the things that you've called us to do that we would move in the faith that moves things oh god and i thank you heavenly father for those that are saying yes to you for the very first time this is just the beginning of that journey and holy spirit i thank you for that you would be a teacher that you would guide them that you will show them the things that you will reveal with the mysteries of their life to them and you will raise them up and so we thank you lord for your goodness we thank you for all that you are and we thank you that you will continue to have your way in and through our lives in jesus mighty name amen

bless you happy sunday family i am so excited to be with you all today you know right now in our world i know there&#39;s a lot of craziness happening but it&#39;s nothing that is a surprise to us because we even read these things in the book of revelation right when it tells us that nation will rise against nation but the beauty in this times because it could seem like with everything happening what is beautiful about it but the beauty is that whenever we see chaos we also see an awakening of purpose we also see that god is revealing and stripping the reason why he placed us here so this is really a time for us to really be dialed in to who we are to the god we serve and what he has called us to do and as i was preparing for today i remember you know a couple days back the lord in a dream kept speaking to me about faith and he gave me this phrase that almost like i was hearing the questions that people were asking right and the question was is it a faith problem right have you ever felt like you know the thing that you&#39;re after you&#39;re you&#39;re wondering god i feel like i have faith but i don&#39;t know why things are not happening and the question that you&#39;ve been pondering on is that is it a faith problem i want us to read this scripture it&#39;s in matthew 17 20 and we&#39;re going to unpack it a little bit but the scripture says so jesus said to them right and we&#39;ll talk about who them are and why jesus had this response it says so jesus said to them because of your unbelief for assuredly i say to you if you have faith as a mustard seed you will say to this mountain move from here to there and it will move and nothing will be impossible for you now when we read scriptures like this right i think about my younger self you know when i was a kid and i i mean like i took the bible literally and you should except some of the things i did that were foolish like when i studied the old testament for the first time and i hadn&#39;t yet progressed into the new testament and so i saw the way they offered animals to the lord and growing up in nigeria you know you kill your animals in your backyard and they were killing the chicken and i ran and i&#39;m like no we need to offer the chicken to the lord and my mom was like stephanie no you need to come to the new testament [Laughter] you need to make some progress you know but when i would read scriptures like this right that anything is possible i would try to close the door with my mind you know i&#39;m like god i have faith that the door will close with my mind right but i&#39;m sure in more you know mature situations we have tried to exercise faith and it feels like we are still being faced with impossibilities it feels like we&#39;re still being faced with mountains that don&#39;t seem to move and in this situation we see jesus saying if you have the faith of a mustard seed you will say to this mountain he was very practical he was not being you know he was not trying to give some kind of parable he was very practical in this teaching that you would say for it to move from here to there and it would move now i don&#39;t know about you but last week i mean we had the cold experience which you know just experiencing first of all the vision of our pastor pastor toray roberts i mean it was absolutely life-changing and during that whole experience one of the key things for me it really felt like this huge impartation of faith right where i just felt like my faith was on the next level i mean you how did you guys fill in the card look at that right we i i was just like you know what nothing can stop me i&#39;m just unstoppable there&#39;s a song unstoppable i started singing it in my head you know and then i get home you know the next day um kanye has a documentary on netflix i watch the documentary and i&#39;m just you know just inspiration is just you know just flowing like a river right but all of this faith doesn&#39;t mean anything if it doesn&#39;t bring change all of this faith doesn&#39;t mean anything if it doesn&#39;t produce impact if it doesn&#39;t produce change and so when we see jesus saying if you have the faith of a mustard seed you will say to this mountain move from here today now just to give a little back story of this and for those taking notes i also want you to write down mark 9 14 to 27 because to really talk about what is happening in this scripture i&#39;m gonna pull from both people&#39;s um just their explanation and their recount of the story right because in the scripture many of us have heard about you know the boy the little boy who was oppressed by a demon right and so in the oppression of that demonic spirit it caused him to have epileptic seizures now during these seizures you could you could tell that this has brought his father just great sorrow and disappointment so the scriptures tells us that the father brings this boy to just jesus&#39;s disciples he brings him to the disciples and the disciples could not um the demon was still oppressing this child and then he brings him to jesus and he says you know what master i brought my son to your disciples but they could not heal him and jesus tells the man he&#39;s like if you believe anything is possible and the man is crying this is a father this is a father who loves his child he&#39;s concerned the bible tells us that with tears in his eyes he says to jesus i believe but help my unbelief right and then immediately jesus cast out the spirit and when jesus did the details are so so important because the man comes to jesus and he says my son is dealing with a deaf spirit right jesus cast out the spirit and says you deaf and dumb spirit come out of the boy and don&#39;t return anymore then the disciples are perplexed they&#39;re like how is it that jesus was able to cast out the spirit but we did it and jesus reveals to the disciples you have the same problem that his father did he said it is because of your unbelief now but if you have faith the size of a mustard seed you will say to this the mountain this isn&#39;t that and it&#39;s such a contradiction right because on one hand there&#39;s faith and on another hand there is unbelief and jesus is saying it&#39;s the same problem because the disciples i believe is safe to assume that they had faith because for them to be confused that means they prayed for the boy that means they rebuked the spirit and you have to understand that prior to this the scriptures tells us that jesus had given them the authority to cast out unclean spirits so they did what they were accustomed to they were like we pray we rebuke the spirit comes out of the boy and boom that&#39;s it we had faith to believe that he will be healed so they&#39;re like jesus but why is it that the boy wasn&#39;t healed and jesus said it is because of your unbelief have you ever lived in the contradiction have you ever lived in the place where you have faith but you also have unbelief now i have never talked about um my engagement you know but maybe because he&#39;s really a gift to me so i just keep him to myself but prior to meeting my fiance right i remember being in a space where i had faith that god is the one who connects people who brings people together but i also had on belief that this could happen for me right when you go through disappointments and all kinds of things and you&#39;re just like i know that god can do this but i don&#39;t know if i believe it for myself and so for a very long time i used to think that unbelief dealt with personal issues that unbelief spoke to when i couldn&#39;t see myself in the very promises of god that he is able to do but then i read this scripture and i&#39;m looking at two realities of unbelief because for the father i&#39;m like okay it makes sense why he may have unbelief because on one hand he&#39;s experienced multiple disappointment he&#39;s seen his son tormented by this spirit so he even though he believes that something could happen he&#39;s also trying to maybe not set up himself for another form of disappointment so he&#39;s like yeah but maybe i&#39;m not sure but then the disciples it had nothing to do with them they were practicing what they&#39;ve always done they were praying they were rebuking so i recognized that this this thing about unbelief is not the way i always saw it and so i started studying the word unbelief and really and this might not be a shocker but it was a shocker to me that unbelief actually speaks to the weakness of your faith that unbelief is not about the absence of faith but it&#39;s the weakness of your faith and so when we see jesus saying that it&#39;s not about you having this great measure of faith that if you have the faith of a mustard seed you can produce impact you can produce change jesus is telling us that the type of faith that produces results is not qualified by size but it&#39;s qualified by strength that it&#39;s not about the size of the faith but it&#39;s the strength of the faith you see romans 12 3 i want you to write this down and studied it in your own time but romans 12 3 really confirms to us that god has given to each and every person a certain measure of faith faith is not the problem you already have faith god has given everyone a measure of faith that&#39;s why jesus is like it&#39;s not a faith issue because if you ever see a mustard tea i remember a friend gave me uh uh just like a pack of mustard seeds it is extremely tiny so jesus is very strategic in his language he&#39;s like it&#39;s not about the measure you already have faith what we need to deal with is what has weakened your faith because the faith that produces impact is a faith that is strong that is strengthened and i was like god what is that what is really the thing that strengthens our faith and it is hidden in this text because like i said when jesus came to pray for the boy jesus revealed the identity of the spirit and he revealed the strategy of the spirit first of all he said the spirit is not only death it is a deaf and dumb spirit and he said the strategy of the spirit is to leave and come back so it is possible that the disciples prayed for the boy rebuked the demon and he left and then came back so when jesus was praying he said first of all i&#39;m not just this is not a general prayer i have understanding about the matter when jesus even gives the disciples the example of if you have faith the size of a mustard seed you will say to this mountain he was not speaking in general terms he was speaking to a specific mountain and he said if you say to this mountain and move it from here to there there was a there that the mountain would move to and the lord began to open my eyes that the secret ingredient to strengthen faith is understanding jesus had understanding like i want us to read a scripture in proverbs 4 7 right it says this wisdom is the principle thing therefore get wisdom and in all you&#39;re getting get understanding that that is is just so mind-blowing to me wisdom is the principle thing but in all you&#39;re getting get understanding now there&#39;s it&#39;s always felt like there is um this clash or or maybe like um you know understanding wisdom and knowledge are all wrapped up into one but there is a difference right because when we think about knowledge we think about truth right we think about information but understanding has to do deal with the measure in by which you comprehend that information how you comprehend the truth and wisdom controls how you apply the truth so in this context for for instance knowledge is that there is a problem here that this boy is tormented by a demonic spirit understanding is the identity and the strategy of the demon wisdom is how jesus was able to rebuke the demon and have him to never return was when jesus said now you will come out and never enter him again it was how he applied the information that he was able to comprehend you see very similar i&#39;ll give the example of let&#39;s say a person is is sick right and they&#39;re going through something in their body and the doctors are telling them you&#39;re not going to make it knowledge is jesus has all power and authority understanding is jesus has all power and authority and so this sickness would also bow to his authority and wisdom is so i&#39;m gonna live my life like i know i&#39;m gonna have a tomorrow i&#39;m not going to sit in depression i&#39;m not going to sit in anxiety i&#39;m going to keep building i&#39;m going to keep working towards the things that god has said it is how i apply what i have comprehended in god and so when the bible tells us with all your getting get understanding it is so i mean with all yeah we all you&#39;re getting get understanding it is so that it brings us into the place where our faith is activated where your faith is strengthened because what i&#39;m beginning to learn is that it is not the measure of your faith that is the problem but it is the measure of your understanding that is why there is the difference sometimes when you see someone would just say jesus nothing happens another person also said jesus and the whole atmosphere changes there was an understanding that he was that he has deepened himself in that when he says the name he&#39;s not just saying it without wisdom he&#39;s not saying it without insight he&#39;s not saying it without understanding when he says the name of jesus he&#39;s speaking about it from a very deep place and that is why even when sometimes you you would even watch that when god wants to do unusual things and unusual miracles even though it doesn&#39;t seem that it doesn&#39;t seem to make sense to the average person when you look at the people that he uses you recognize that these were people of understanding there&#39;s a scripture that we we learn about in the book of acts and this is when god used handkerchiefs that touched the skin that just just came in contact with paul and those handkerchiefs delivered people from demonic spirits but when you look at the life of paul everything about paul was about understanding paul was a teacher of the mysteries of god so his life exuded that this was not just some random guy that god just selected paul lived in the realm of understanding that god i&#39;m not just hearing about you but i want to comprehend who you are understanding is the difference in how we live our lives when we say jesus is lord because you can know the truth the truth is jesus is lord that is the truth that&#39;s knowledge but understanding says so if he is lord then i must submit myself to him as though he is my lord because that is who he is and wisdom is how i live my life how i reveal the fact that jesus is lord over my life you see so when we say things like this about okay faith and understanding you know one of the one of the scriptures that really helps us to tie this in is hebrews 11 6 right hebrews 11 6 says this without faith it is impossible to please him him being god for he who comes to god must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder for those of those who do diligently seek him so it says without faith it&#39;s impossible to please god and many times we just stop there without faith so i need faith but it&#39;s not just any kind of random faith because it is not just in knowing that god is but knowing who he is that is understanding without faith it is impossible to please god for he who comes to him must know that he is and that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him it is the understanding of who of god&#39;s nature that pleases him that is why when we learn about a man named solomon in the scriptures there was a time where literally god encountered him in a dream and gave him a blank check he said solomon what is it that you want me to do for you say anything and i would do it and solomon said god give me an understanding heart that you have made me ruler you have favored me and caused me to become king over your people i&#39;m not here to ask you for riches i&#39;m not here to ask you for anything but god give me an understanding heart and the bible says and solomon&#39;s speech pleased god that same pleasure that god has when the bible says without faith it is impossible to please god when solomon said god give me an understanding heart the bible says and it pleased god understanding is what strengthens our faith sometimes the gap sometimes the gap when we feel we are not certain about what is happening in our lives the gap is understanding that what you know just by whether it&#39;s under a teaching or what you&#39;ve heard and what you you you believe to some degree you had your measure of understanding in that very thing has not grown for example a very popular thing we say is god is love and we say it or god loves me very it sounds very simple very easy but when you come into the understanding of what that means i mean you would live such a stress-free life whenever we find ourselves panicked anxious by circumstances we have not come into the understanding of god&#39;s love we have not come into the understanding of what it means that the creator of the universe is crazy about me because for god to love me that means he is watching over me for god to love me that means he is concerned about the things that concern me for god to love me that means i am truly the apple of his eye when we find ourselves anxious about tomorrow we have not comprehended the truth of god&#39;s love and we&#39;re out there looking for another word looking for another hit and all we need to do is grow in the basics of our faith that i am loved by god i am loved by god it it removes all types of judgment rejection abandonment it says the creator of the universe loves me and he is all powerful and and he can do anything he is masterful at being a waymaker so when this door shut it is not because i&#39;m unloved it is not because i&#39;m not accepted it is because actually in his love you begin to see everything through the love through the lens of love when you face rejection you say oh wow god was just protecting me when you face failure you say wow god was giving me a personalized lesson you start to see life through the lens of his love when something happens to you you&#39;re like oh my gosh i&#39;m about to experience god as a comforter you don&#39;t look at loss even if it&#39;s the loss of a loved one you don&#39;t look at it like god forgot about you you say god i&#39;m going to experience your comfort i&#39;ve never met you in this way at the end of the day life and one thing that is is for sure is that we all have an expiration date on this earth and you don&#39;t experience loss and i&#39;m saying this because even god is making this so heavy in my heart i keep sensing there is someone and you feel so abandoned and rejected and forgotten by god because of the loss of loved ones that you have experienced within the past year but one thing that is that is certain is that the moment our pastor put it in a way that i i don&#39;t even know how to say it in my in my on my best day but there was a wisdom i gained from our pastor when he talked about the moment you get into this earth you&#39;re actually growing closer to your death that is the one thing that is guaranteed but when you see life through the lens of god&#39;s love you&#39;re not looking at life like things are working against you you see everything like wow god your word says that you are you comfort those who mourn i&#39;m going to experience your comfort the love of god do you just know that he is love or do you understand that he is love do you just say it that god god oh god loves you oh bless you you know someone sneezes oh god bless you but you won&#39;t know what it means for god to bless you do you know that just be being a child of god means that you&#39;re blessed when we are able to comprehend the simple things it changes our life forever understanding is what strengthens our faith is what activates our faith to be able to create great impact in our lives and in the world around us and so there are a few things that i want there are four key things that i believe every believer has to be committed to when it comes to the areas we need to grow in understanding right and i&#39;ll say what they are and then we&#39;ll kind of go into it so one as you&#39;re as you&#39;re taking notes the first thing is your assignment right you can say your assignment or your purpose the second thing is times and seasons the third thing is kingdom principles and the fourth thing is god&#39;s promises and i&#39;m sure there are many more things that the holy spirit can unpack to you but these are the key things that he highlighted to me and so starting off with your assignment and your purpose you know one thing i loved about jesus and studying about the life of jesus is that everything he did was a unique assignment jesus never saw two miracles the same that is why you can see jesus healing two blind men very differently and you&#39;re wondering but if they&#39;re both blind isn&#39;t there just one formula for it but everything was a unique assignment that is why in the scriptures you would read when jesus would say things like we must go to the next towns because he had an assignment in that town you have to look at every moment every opportunity god gives you as a unique assignment the difference between jesus and the disciples in this moment is that the disciples thought this was an assignment just like every other assignment somebody has a spirit we go we pray we rebuke and we walk away i remember i remember a couple years ago um encountered it was at a conference and there was a lady who was um you know oppressed by a by evil spirit and her body was moving in all kinds of ways you know it was like a movie and we were there sweating you know i command you to leave her and that spirit was having a field day with us just a party and we at the point i got frustrated because i said that you cannot embarrass us okay we are children of the most high god and it was embarrassing us you know to be honest and i walked away and it was where we were was like in the hotel so i walked away and there were these like glass this um glass cups and i looked at the glass cup and i could never forget this and the holy spirit said to me claire as glass and i&#39;m like what does that mean clear as glass and he started showing me how what gave access to that spirit in this young lady&#39;s life was unforgiveness that there are some things that needs to be cleared up and through and and when it&#39;s clara&#39;s glass meaning that she is not blocked she is not contaminated by bitterness and this unforgiveness is re like she she releases the weight of unforgiveness that spirit would release its whole that is what it&#39;s holding on to you know it&#39;s just like you know even for some bible connected to that you know the scripture would say do not let the sun go down on your anger so you don&#39;t give the enemy a foothold right there are certain things that can cause access for spirits to bring oppression and we we you know i went back and this time around i was not trying to scream shout i said this is embarrassing and so i commanded the spirit first of all to stop whatever it&#39;s doing i want to talk to the girl and i start and then the lord revealed that it was her father there was issues that she had with her father and i asked her i said what is going on with you and your father and she opened up and there was so much pain so much bitterness and we just had a conversation with her about forgiveness about why even at the end of the day like understanding that the father was also a broken man and when she came to the point like it was a very emotional moment when she broke down and released her father that spirit left her and what that moment taught me was every assignment is unique just because you went and prayed for someone that said i rebuke you evil spirit and the spirit jumped out doesn&#39;t mean it&#39;s the same thing for the next person it doesn&#39;t mean and this is not limited to prayer this is life if god calls you into if you&#39;re an actor for example every set has a unique assignment every movie has a unique assignment there are people that god has ordained for you to meet on that set that perhaps your testimony will draw them closer to him you don&#39;t just look at it like another day another job you know just snagged another bag everything you&#39;re not looking at it like transactional based on your personal benefit yes you might get some money out of it and that&#39;s great but you have to look at it as a kingdom person you recognize that everything that you are involved in you are sent by god so when you&#39;re going into the movie set when you&#39;re going into whatever it is if you&#39;re if you do makeup if you do hair if whatever it looks like if you&#39;re a nurse every time you walk into the hospital you&#39;re an assignment i remember my aunt recently she was she&#39;s my i have on who&#39;s a nurse and there was a day and every time she goes into work she&#39;s praying god open my eyes show me who i can help like she look it&#39;s ministry for her and one particular day there was a there was a couple that came in and the you know the wife was having a baby the man is sitting down and the holy spirit was telling my aunt to focus on this man that something is not right with him and so she she just started paying attention to him everyone is focused on the woman because she&#39;s the one having a baby my honest focus on this man and recognize that he looks like he&#39;s having symptoms of a heart attack so they she called another nurse and she&#39;s like could you just like look at how he&#39;s moving and next thing they they brought in a doctor just to check upon him the man was literally having a heart attack and because they were able to catch the signs early they lit i mean they save this man&#39;s life every single thing is an assignment and none of it is the same it&#39;s unique every day is an assignment that&#39;s why david will say things like you know i mean not even david went in in the lord&#39;s prayer in the model prayer you would hear things like give us this day our daily bread right there is something there is a there is a new word for the day there is something new we have to experience about the day and so you have to grow in the understanding of your assignment and your purpose that you are committed to saying god what is it that you have called me to do and what is the unique thing in how i&#39;m supposed to approach it today how i&#39;m supposed to approach it on the set every time i preach it&#39;s not you know we&#39;re not just looking um going through the uh like a bible you know read your bible in in a year and then today&#39;s reading is in exodus and i&#39;m like what kind of word can i bring out of exodus every time it&#39;s an assignment god what is it that you want to say to your people because you see the lord knows who exactly is on the other side he knows who is going to be on the receiving end he knows who is listening to the message today and who&#39;s going to listen to it in five years from now the lord knows and so we cannot play with these moments as just random we have to grow in our understanding of what it is that god has called us to do because for example and you can write this scripture down in proverbs 18 2 it says this a fool takes no pleasure in understanding but only in expressing his opinion a fool takes no pleasure and understanding only in expressing his opinion you cannot be like a fool it&#39;s not a curse where this in the bible the bible says a foe right you cannot you cannot embrace the identity or the nature of a full that all you care about is that your your your life is governed and not it sometimes it&#39;s done subconsciously but you have to look at what governs your life is your life governed by your opinions that you&#39;re you&#39;re shaped by your own wisdom well i already know what&#39;s going to happen when i go in there i&#39;m going to do abcd that i&#39;m going to walk out or are you surrendered to what it is that the lord wants to do are you surrendered to comprehend god i know this is a new day that i&#39;m in i know that that&#39;s knowledge but what is it that you&#39;ve called me to do in this new day that&#39;s understanding lord i want to i want to grow in the measure of my of of what this day holds for me that&#39;s understanding right now the second thing is times and seasons times and seasons you can write this scripture down first chronicles 12 32 and you can write that down to study in your own time but that that scripture literally talks to us about there were some men known as the sons of issachar the sons of issachar were men who literally walked in authority had honor had favor simply because they had understanding of times and seasons and what the nation of israel was supposed to do during those times and seasons right and times and seasons are so critical because your life is locked up in times and seasons god has locked up the key moments of your life in times and seasons you see when i talked about you know before meeting my fiance i was kind of just in this weird space right and then there was a particular day that weird space when it came to relationships right because one thing we don&#39;t talk about child being you know i would talk about it because i don&#39;t know how many people are experienced that being single in ministry is very fascinating very very fascinating i&#39;m just i&#39;m gonna just put it out there because one you know you have to keep focused you&#39;re you&#39;re you&#39;re spending so much time in church but you can&#39;t look at the congregants in the church you know i remember i had to make a covenant i don&#39;t even know why i&#39;m saying this but i had to make a covenant with the lord i said lord i cannot i will not date anyone who um comes to our church and some people are like what does that mean i said no because i need to be focused i cannot be praying with you and wondering if you&#39;re my husband i need to pray with you and focus on what the spirit of the lord is saying so it is so unique it is a very weird place and then for everyone you know when whatever your situation looks like i mean single in 20 22 is interesting you know you had covet all kinds of things that happened right but i remember in this was in 2020 i think it was 2020 or 2019 the lord gave me this no he wasn&#39;t even really a vision he said to me he told me the age i would be when i would become a mother and when i looked at it i realized god i&#39;ve always been in your plan i&#39;m frustrated because i&#39;m thinking that something is delayed but the reality is i&#39;ve always been in your plan because if that is the age then surely something around sin is coming right [Laughter] and in the masterful plan of god because one thing that the lord knew was i would not settle right i was i would pray prayers that lord before us if if it&#39;s to settle give me the the grace of singleness you know give me that paul anointing right because i would not do that because for me what the lord has called me to do is very critical and you know even learning and um learning from our pastors you see that even marriage serves a purpose it has an assignment to it and so that was one thing i said if it would draw me away from my assignment that&#39;s not it and i would not said i was the lord if that&#39;s all you got then just give me pause and 19. you know but the lord had had some things other things planned right and when i when we met and all that beautiful stuff happened i was like this is all in sync with god&#39;s plans i was never out of god&#39;s plan and why i&#39;m saying this is that when god gave me understanding about the times and seasons connected to a desire it brought it brought ease many times we&#39;re living in frustration and anxiety because we&#39;re we&#39;re calling a season of preparation a season of manifestation the season that god has marked as preparation you&#39;ve called it manifestation the season that god has called wilderness you&#39;re calling it promised land and because there is it&#39;s not it&#39;s not an agreement you live in this place of frustration because you&#39;re identifying your season in a way that god has not called it to be and so we have to grow in our understanding of times and seasons even concerning our lives if there&#39;s something right now stressing you out if there&#39;s something you feel like god this should have happened i mean like what was going on you know this should have happened last year then i challenge you to take it before the lord and ask him lord what does this season of my life represent and have humility don&#39;t come at feeling like you know everything but come with an open heart and say lord what does this season represent in my life there are some seasons that the lord will literally tell this is a season of rest i want you to just rest in this season i want you to get connected to family and friends this is not a season i&#39;m announcing you this is a season i need you to rest because in god&#39;s wisdom he knows what is coming and he knows what is coming is going to pull so much from you that is why you even have even in the scriptures you see how jesus had a season where he was hidden and that&#39;s why even in the bible we don&#39;t know many things that he was doing we don&#39;t know if he was riding horses or you know i know he has some friends you know there&#39;s a lot of his life that is hidden from us but that was a season where jesus was being prepared because the few key things we know you know you would read scriptures like when he was in the temple now when he&#39;s announced and revealed they will say things like and jesus came into the temple and read as he normally would so that would give you insight that okay jesus during some of your hidden moments you were studying the word you were reading the torah you were reading you were you were you know and immersing yourself in the word but he was hidden and when the time came jesus didn&#39;t try to announce himself the bible says he was led by the spirit into the wilderness everything he did he was led and he it brought him into an understanding and so if anything is stressing your life out right now ask the lord is this actually the season because you see what satan does um one of our prayer ministers cg we were on a prayer call and she said something i loved so much and she talked about how delayed gratification that how satan tries to use delayed you know your delayed gratification like against you pretty much that because what you want is delayed now he&#39;s trying to present to you all these new routes like what come on why don&#39;t you take this one why don&#39;t you like let&#39;s just make it quicker i have a faster way to the promised land but at the end of the day we have to be honest with ourselves i&#39;m a child of god i serve the purpose of the kingdom it&#39;s not just about my gratification i want what god has for me because the beauty is that the bible even says this the the blessings of the lord it make us rich and added no sorrow that&#39;s the difference between what comes from god and what comes from the enemy because what comes from the enemy would always compromise and would always steal from the fullness of what god has for you and so understanding times and season especially even in the seasons that we&#39;re in in the world right now it&#39;s easy to read the headlines and read news and be so panicked and and be worried and frustrated and scared for your life but we can come to the lord and say god give me an understanding of what is happening in our world so that i&#39;m praying from a place of strategy you see when i understand times and seasons i live a life of precision i&#39;m not living randomly i&#39;m not living just you know going about aimlessly i have precision about my life i recognize that you know what this is a season that god has called me to prepare i recognize this is the season that god has called this to happen and i can i can give myself to it this might be a waiting season for me you know recently i talked about what do you while i&#39;m waiting right to think what god does while we wait so whatever season we&#39;re in where it&#39;s easy to submit to it when you know that that is a season that god has ordained for you to be in and he&#39;s not doing anything new jesus went through it too jesus went through a hidden season jesus went through a wilderness season jesus went through a season he was celebrated jesus went through a season he was persecuted jesus went through a season he was elevated so there is no season that you may feel that you are in that is new to god jesus experienced it all he knew what it can you imagine what it must have felt like he knew who he was he knew that he had come to be the messiah can you imagine jesus that&#39;s why even as a kid he almost left his family i&#39;m sure he was tired if jesus was in this culture he i&#39;m tired all right just forget the r you know just tired because there was a moment jesus leaves his parents he said you know what you know what i&#39;m done y&#39;all he goes he&#39;s you know checking out the temple he&#39;s reading things in the temple he said look i&#39;m about to step into my uh office and my anointing and when they looked for him and they&#39;re like because they realized like mary was like joseph where&#39;s jesus that was your responsibility where&#39;s the boy now we&#39;ve lost the messiah when they found jesus he was like don&#39;t you know we think you see when we quote this scripture we think like yes jesus was just about his father&#39;s business now this was a little petty jesus said don&#39;t you know i must be about my father&#39;s business basically joseph you are not my daddy okay i have a daddy he is up there and in here and why am i saying he was petty i&#39;m sorry lord but this is this is the bible but because literally after that then the bible says and then jesus became obedient to his parents because that was not the season for him to be acting up so jesus knows what it feels like to be hidden and you&#39;re just like listen it&#39;s my time to shine okay he wanted that he was like look i came from somewhere i don&#39;t know why you guys have me hanging around with all these little children like he was not a kid makes me think of my nephew my nephew just turned three this is i&#39;m just deviating but my nephew will see people that are five years old and he&#39;s like oh a baby i said boy you were younger than this kid but jesus went through it there is no season of your life that you&#39;re experiencing that he did not experience the same thing he experienced it all but the difference is that when you start submitting to your understanding of times and seasons it puts you at ease you recognize god i&#39;m not outside your plans for me i&#39;m actually right on track i&#39;m right where you need me to be right so understanding times and seasons understanding kingdom principles right you see obedience tithing humility honor all of these things are kingdom principles and when you have a comprehension of them you know how to exercise it because you see heaven operates like a legal system right when that&#39;s why they use legal language they call jesus an advocate satan the accuser of the brethren it&#39;s all legal language and so when and that&#39;s why even when we talk about jesus is our righteousness because you know he&#39;s the one where because when we show up we look guilty you know but jesus shows up he is purely innocent right so he&#39;s the one advocating for us but when you tap into the principles of of of what god&#39;s truth is you know how to exercise it in your life that&#39;s why like in deuteronomy 28 the bible talks about the rewards for obedience that when you are there is a reward behind your obedience you see sometimes you&#39;re wondering you know god you might be crying out to god to do something and the answer is basically be obedient our pastor pastor talked about this last sunday how for many of you actually for all of us the greatest tool that you have is obedience so you might feel like god i don&#39;t have anything nothing is working and god is like but what did i tell you to do right use that because there is a reward for obedience when you&#39;re a tither you have something to bring before god when things are looking off about your finances there was a lady i remember the lord on a random day spoke to me and told me i should give her a call and tell her to start tithing i didn&#39;t know if she did tight or not so i gave her a call and i said really the holy spirit put on my heart that you need to start tithing and she you know she mentioned that she doesn&#39;t tithe and she was like but i&#39;m a great giver you know i give all the time i say yeah but it&#39;s under your control you give when you want to even though it could be a big amount but tithing is the discipline of humility tithing says you know what lord because you know what every time you get income 10 okay god 10 how much is this 10 percent it&#39;s easier for me to just you know just give when i want to and generosity is also a principle we don&#39;t it&#39;s not like we do it because we&#39;re you know looking for the reward but everything about god is intentional and tithing is intentional and so this was like a while back i told this lady i was like hey this is what the lord put on my heart to tell you so recently she gave me a call and she said you know i really just i need prayer and i&#39;m like what&#39;s going on and she mentioned that you know i just feel like things are off with my um my finances and i if something is not it&#39;s not like settling right and as she&#39;s talking the holy spirit reminds me of the same thing tell her to tithe and i asked i said did you start tithing she said no i said well start tithing because you it there is it&#39;s a supernatural now i&#39;m not saying that if you&#39;re a tither and you&#39;re not responsible with money that money is just gonna appear no you will be a negative right but if you are responsible right tithing is is so supernatural because it brings you into the access of god&#39;s economy because what you&#39;re what you do when you tithe you have to tie with understanding not as a religious practice what you do when you tithe this you&#39;re saying that god this comes from you so i&#39;m sowing a tent into your kingdom but the key element is that it comes from you and what comes from you does not dry it doesn&#39;t run dry what comes from you is always flowing so lord i am just acknowledging myself as a vessel as a steward of kingdom finances when you tithe with understanding you recognize i can&#39;t lack because i am a faithful steward of kingdom finances and the bible says if you are faithful with little god will make you ruler over much the reason why god gives so many principles is for you to know what should guide your life he&#39;s revealing to you this is how the kingdom of heaven works so when you tithe with understanding you say lord when you have money problems you&#39;re like oh wait god no something&#39;s wrong because this would only apply to someone who is connected to the natural system of the economy i&#39;m connected to heaven&#39;s economy so this should not be my experience that is tithing with understanding and when you tap into these kingdom principles you have access in ways that you should not have things op doors open up for you that you don&#39;t understand it doesn&#39;t mean that you know you might be you know driving a a you know bentley that flies as a plane tomorrow but what i&#39;m trying to explain to you is that god will protect you whether you&#39;re in the wilderness or you&#39;re in the promised land that there is a supernatural protection and i shared it with that lady you see it is the understanding of principles that allow that even just that propelled god to give ad 15 years to a man&#39;s life there was a king named hezekiah i mean his story was already written it was not that god was taken years from his life because the bible could have easily said and if you don&#39;t know the story of hezekiah it&#39;s a powerful story just google it and it will show up right the way you know it is in the bible but the bible literally says that when hezekiah hezekiah was sick and it was revealed to him that this sickness would lead would end in death and hezekiah was like oh no he began to pray and his prayer was very strategic he wasn&#39;t just crying he said god remember how i have been loyal to you remember how i have like how how my heart has been pure before you hezekiah was using the strategy of kingdom principles he said god i am a vessel on this earth that is faithful you can&#39;t just take my life like that if you&#39;re looking for people to be faithful i have been faithful to you i have been loyal to you this did it caused something that we have never seen in the bible because if god was not if if it was just that maybe hezekiah got sick randomly and you know he was just gonna die premature death the bible would have said and he recovered from his illness but the bible actually said and god added 15 years to his life god changed the plans that were written before time concerning the books of hezekiah and he said hezekiah you know what you bring up a great argument you have been faithful i&#39;m over here looking for people that are not even born you you write down the earth you know you can continue in the good bidding that you&#39;re doing and he says that&#39;s you know cool i&#39;ll give you 15 more years kingdom principles when you understand kingdom principles it changes everything one of my mentors she she was barren for a while i might have shared a story before she was barren and then she tapped into what the what the the command of god when he said be fruitful and multiply she said there is no way this is god&#39;s command and i&#39;m barren so she made it her declaration that god i would my life this womb would declare who you are unless you&#39;re a liar then this will testify that you&#39;re a liar she began to mold herself and and tailor herself to the word of god she said this is your command so it must happen and and the way she explained it it was similar to when you know god said let there be light it said light had to respond he said let god did not even focus on darkness the only reason we know about darkness is because the story was told the bible didn&#39;t say you know what god looked and you know the god saw the darkness was very dark right he just said there&#39;s a solution to this i command light to be and there was light and she said if that&#39;s the case when you it you didn&#39;t give it as a suggestion you said be fruitful and multiply and man has to respond she said my body must respond to your command now she has two kids comprehension of the word of god that it was not just a word to adam and eve but adam and eve represented every generation this was god&#39;s command to us right and so lastly god&#39;s promises the scripture says this to us it says that all the promises of god are yes and amen right he if he said it he&#39;s on the yes side but we have to recognize the what we must understand about the amen side that&#39;s on us because amen is agreement lord you said it i agree so what does that look like for us right that&#39;s what we have to grow because you can&#39;t just say that you know what the lord has told me to do this great thing and you do nothing on your end because the lord has given you a promise it is for you to grow in your understanding about what does this look like for me right there&#39;s been um there&#39;s a project that i&#39;ve been working on with some incredible people and god began to give us so much promise and vision concern in it and we could have just sat and be like oh god is going to do some amazing things but we had to sit and say okay what does that look like what is the thing that we have to do and in the entertainment field you have to create a pitch deck and different things like that so we made a pitch deck we made a scissor reel and then we started experiencing the favor on the other side of that so god gave us a promise but our agreement looked like works there was something we had to do to align ourselves in the manner in which we believe what god said and so for you what does that look like did god give you a promise you&#39;re going to be a new york times best seller but you have not wrote the book right you you can&#39;t be in your house and be an honorary you know bestseller so what does that look like that has god told you about what what he&#39;s called you to do in the industry what are what does your works what does your agreement look like with what god said we have to grow in understanding what it is that we ought to be doing because of what has been revealed to us whatever the lord has revealed to you what does it look like he&#39;s revealed to you he&#39;s talked to you about the ministry what does it look like how are you stewarding the people already around you how are you pouring into the people around you because if you find that frustrating you&#39;re not you&#39;re not in agreement with what god is showing you the business what does it look like what is your agreement now with god are you working on the business plan are you working on the vision are you are you working on what does you know what would your the year one will the hires look like in year one because that is your agreement right and so as you prepare you see that god begins to release the provision and so when i say all of this at the end of the day we have to recognize that this level of understanding comes from the holy spirit right i&#39;ll read one more chapter before we close one more verse and that is isaiah 11 2 right and this was speaking about jesus when the holy spirit came upon him and he said the spirit of the lord shall rest upon him the spirit of wisdom and understanding the spirit of counsel and might the spirit of knowledge and the fear of the lord now all of these spirits were seven in total and in the book of revelation we see when it talks about the seven spirits of god but the seven spirits of god speaks to the fullness of the holy spirit and so i&#39;m sharing this is because understanding is the holy spirit it flows from the holy spirit it is his essence it is his being he is the one who in partnership with him when we walk with him in intimacy with him the holy spirit brings us into knowledge understanding wisdom everything and so i&#39;m saying this because in the times that we&#39;re living it is so critical whether even if it was different times life is about walking with jesus life is about walking with the lord and we should not get so caught up in wanting to work for him that we lose sight on what it means to walk with him and so my assignment today first of all was to tell you that maybe it&#39;s not a faith problem but it&#39;s a understanding the problem has to do with your measure of understanding but my real assignment is to tell you that this is a time to deepen your walk with the holy spirit whatever it looks like now doesn&#39;t mean that you rest there but to deepen your intimacy with the holy spirit because as you deepen your intimacy with the holy spirit he begins to reveal to you he begins to unfold your assignment the times and seasons connected to your life he begins to reveal all the key things that are essential to having the faith that moves mountains but it&#39;s time to deepen your intimacy what does your prayer life look like what does your your your fat your are you living a fasted life and i&#39;m not saying that you fast all the days of your life but but what are the things that you have made a covenant with god to say no to because it is distracting to your walk you don&#39;t you know sometimes we think that a fast is the only time where we say no to distractions but the fast is actually what opens our eyes and tailors us to mold our life to the nature of the lord right it&#39;s not saying that your life will be boring life with jesus is fun i mean jesus was turning water into wine okay life of jesus is very fun but what i mean is that the things that are unique to you when the holy spirit begins convicting you of the things that you have to walk away from the things that you have to step away from the things that you that are not profitable to you are you obedient in those times what what is your response in those times you know it&#39;s so interesting um now i don&#39;t know you know the lord just has me talking about my fiance a lot today because i don&#39;t but we were having a conversation right and he mentioned something to me that i loved so much we were talking about intimacy and he said what happens if there are two people in a relationship and the woman is no longer interested in anything the man does whether he go all the things that she complains about if he goes out late if he whatever you know all the things that men be doing sometimes you know that&#39;ll be interesting but if she&#39;s no longer complaints he said what does that mean and i was like then the intimacy is gone because if she&#39;s not moved by him whether he&#39;s doing good or bad there is a lack of intimacy and he talked about he was like that&#39;s exactly the same thing that happens with the holy spirit in us because sometimes when we when we don&#39;t feel convicted anymore we think it&#39;s because the holy spirit is not convicting us but the reality is that we&#39;re so far from him that we no longer feel his convictions right and so get back to the place because you found yourself there&#39;s someone that you&#39;re listening to this and you found yourself doing the very things that there was a time in your life that the lord instructed you to walk away from and you&#39;re doing it and you have no conviction nothing is bothering you you feel just fine but could it be that it&#39;s not because you&#39;re not being convicted but your disobedience has distant you so far from the instructions and the leading of the holy spirit you see we have to get back to the place of hunger and hunger is not an anointing hunger is what we get into when we starve that the things that have been pulling us away from god when we begin to starve the distractions of life that is when we discover our hunger again in god and so that&#39;s what i came to tell everyone we have to get back to the place of a deeper hunger in god and you might be in a place now where you&#39;re just like god you are my everything go deeper because a walk with god is endless you would never have him figured out it&#39;s endless there are more things that you would be that he reveals his nature every single day never find that never be settled in where you are with god go deeper make time for him maybe if you can have moments where you just go on a vacation right just to focus have time whether it&#39;s in the morning it&#39;s in the evening it&#39;s in your car where it&#39;s just you and the lord and you&#39;re worshiping and you&#39;re journaling but get back to the place of intimacy because when you grow in understanding your life changes when you grow in understanding it would be one principle of the bible that will transform your life inside out you&#39;re thinking there&#39;s someone you&#39;re watching and you feel like i just need a prophetic word i just need someone to tell me that everything will be all right and all you need is to grow in the understanding that jesus sees you that god watches over you that god loves you just that would change your whole life and so i want to pray with you i want to pray that it would not just be what you&#39;re hearing is not just coming to you as words but it would move in the power of the holy spirit and it would establish and take root in your heart and in your mind and that he will guide you see the holy spirit is a teacher the job of ministers is not for your walk to end with us the job of ministers is not to say hey it stops here it is to point you to jesus so whenever you hear a message and it makes you feel like you you need to draw closer to god then our job is done but if you feel like this message was it and you closed your bible then we didn&#39;t do a good job because it should bring you into a deeper place of searching for god john the baptist the one who baptized jesus he talked about behold the messiah that is the job of every minister that the preaching the message the prayer is pointing you to god because life is not about a walk with a minister it&#39;s about a walk with god it&#39;s about a walk with the holy spirit and so after this message you take time to worship you take time to to think about god what does this practically look like in my life how how can i orchestrate my day how can i plan my life that you are my priority that i deepen my walk with you i can&#39;t be here to tell you exactly everything that&#39;s going to happen in your life for the next 60 years but the holy spirit can he&#39;s called a teacher he&#39;s called a helper right he&#39;s there to help you in your walk and i&#39;m just here to help point you to the right direction and so let us pray if you are saying yes that god i i you know what i want to renew my intimacy with you and i just want you to just lift your hands up wherever you are except if you&#39;re driving you know that&#39;s not safe unless you have a you know tesla that drives itself but this is going a different direction just lift your hands up wherever you are and if you&#39;re saying that you know a lord i i&#39;m not sure if i&#39;ve actually i call you maybe i know you are lord but you are not my lord you want to give your life to jesus you something even as this message is going forth it is deepening your understanding about what does it mean for jesus to be lord in my life you want to give your life to him this is what life is about it is the most peaceful the most relaxing the most beautiful experience it doesn&#39;t mean it doesn&#39;t come with trials and tribulations but even when they come you see it through the love of god right so i want to pray with you too if you&#39;re saying yes to jesus i want you to just put in the chat here i am and you&#39;re going to see salvation instructions um you know how to like give us send us your information and we want to follow up with you but i want to pray with you heavenly father we just thank you for your love we thank you for your goodness we thank you lord god for what has taken place even in this moment we thank you heavenly father the holy spirit you are moving through this message and you&#39;re establishing your presence in the hearts and in the minds of your sons and daughters the heavenly father that you will teach us what it means to follow you you will teach us what it means to pursue you you will teach us what it means to go after your presence and lord in that safe place in that secret place we would grow in the measure of our understanding that we would be able to do the things that you&#39;ve called us to do that we would move in the faith that moves things oh god and i thank you heavenly father for those that are saying yes to you for the very first time this is just the beginning of that journey and holy spirit i thank you for that you would be a teacher that you would guide them that you will show them the things that you will reveal with the mysteries of their life to them and you will raise them up and so we thank you lord for your goodness we thank you for all that you are and we thank you that you will continue to have your way in and through our lives in jesus mighty name amen
