Enhancing Intelligence and Focus Techniques

The average attention span of an adult is now just 8.25 seconds, meaning most people are now wasting their lives away, unable to focus on or develop anything, including their intelligence. And if you feel like clicking away from this video already, well, I have some bad news for you. But don't worry, you can absolutely fix this. Becoming intelligent is actually very simple, and developing your intelligence will allow you to progress any goal you could- think of. So what actually makes a person academically intelligent? Well, I'd argue it's a collection of their knowledge of skills, their ability to solve problems, and their wisdom. And you get good at each of these factors by training them. You get better at a skill by practicing it. You become a better problem solver by problem solving. You gain a wider pool of knowledge by reading literature. Developing your intelligence is not easy, but it is so incredibly simple. The issue is, the modern world is designed to distract us. Over-stimulating media is everywhere you look. As I scientifically explained in my other video, the fastest way to intake and retain new information is by maximizing your focus. Therefore, in order to become smarter, you simply must be maximizing your focus while working. A lot of sources will tell you that you simply need to eliminate distraction to focus. This just isn't true. Procrastination doesn't lie directly with distraction. It's a deeper-rooted problem of overstimulation. A lifetime of consistent distractions at our fingertips have trained our brains to crave them. And we not only crave distractions, but our brains actually reward us every single time we specifically seek them out, by giving us a hit of dopamine, the reward hormone, whenever we give in. The key is to lessen the overstimulation in your life. This will cause your mind to crave less distractions and focus more. But I'd argue there's another category to what makes somebody intelligent, and that's creativity. And not only does lessening the overstimulation in your life improve your ability to focus, but it also allows your brain to produce more ideas when you aren't focusing, because your mind isn't constantly overstimulated. And on top of already having improved focus and creativity from less overstimulation, you can also directly train these skills. Every single time you make yourself focus on something, you are literally getting better at focusing. And the best part is that whenever you have some work you need to get done, you can treat it as a chance to train your focus. And if you don't believe me, I trained my focus from five minutes, I'm not joking, to four straight hours by simply timing myself every time I had to focus, stopping the timer whenever I lost my focus. I also have a Twitter and a free newsletter where I share life lessons like in this video in the description. And thank you for watching.
