The anointing. Now Samuel is calling David. He's giving him the prophecy.
This shepherd boy and saying you've got, basically he's saying this man, this, this boy is gonna be, is gonna be the king of Israel. This, this boy has a calling. And he pours it as he gives the calling. Why? The anointing represents what?
Represents the Spirit of God. The anointing of the Spirit of God. So, so how is David gonna do everything he's got to do?
Only by the Spirit of God. So, so how is David gonna do everything he's got to do? Only by the Spirit of God. By the anointing.
How did Messiah begin his ministry? He picked up the scroll in the synagogue and said what? The Spirit, the Ruach Elohim, the Spirit of God, the Lord God is upon me as he has anointed me to do all these things. So before he could do anything he had to be, he said I am anointed by God. So David's ministry begins with anointing.
Messiah's ministry begins with anointing. But what exactly is the anointing? I remember once a woman, when I was a new believer, or well maybe two years, three years old in the Lord, and people asked me to lead a Bible study.
I started leading a Bible study. And this woman who was at the Bible study spoke to my father on the phone one day and said, oh your son Jonathan, he's so anointed. And my father said, anointed?
What is this? My son anointed? This is not something that Jewish people use a lot. What does it signify?
The king was anointed to become king. The priest was anointed to become priest and the prophet was anointed to become the prophet. The anointing sealed the calling.
Empowers the calling. And it gives the power for the calling to come. to fruition. The anointing is about being sealed and recognized and empowered by God to fulfill the calling of God.
The Spirit of God goes where the will of God is. The Spirit of God and the will of God are together. out of the will of God.
You know there are people who use the, the Spirit. They talk about being anointed. And they're not in the will of God.
That doesn't go. The Spirit of God goes with the will of God. It anoints the will of God.
Brings it about. So God called the priest to be priest but he had to be anointed. God called the king to be king but he had to be anointed.
The prophet, anointed. One way or the other. And often there's a word given.
Often like there's a word that's going to happen like with David. And then that's what, that's what God has called. But now you need the power to fulfill what God...
God has called you. You saw Mike Liddell come up before and talk about how God was, was on his life before he knew God. And the same with many.
I mean God is still there. But there was a calling but it could not be fulfilled until the Spirit of God. And that's still the, still the thing right now. From that moment on when David, when Samuel, Shmuel pours out that horn of oil on David, his life changes.
Up to that point he was the shepherd boy. But now he's going to be the one who's going to be the shepherd boy. Who's going to challenge Goliath.
And he's going to win. Now he's going to be the one who has an army. Now he's going to become the king of Israel.
He's going to be the author of the Psalms. All from that anointing is when it began. I mean that's when it happened. I mean David loved the Lord before that but the anointing is what begins this new phase. time a new video is posted.
