Financial Freedom Explained

Defining Financial Freedom

  • Common Misconceptions:
    • Being free from debt
    • Ability to quit a job
    • Freedom to retire
    • Having enough money for emergencies
    • Being able to take care of family members
  • True Financial Freedom:
    • The ability to joyfully do what God wants you to do with the money He has entrusted to you for His purpose and His glory
    • Includes enjoying what God has given, but also using those blessings to bless others

The Concept of True Freedom

  • False Freedom: The ability to do whatever you want, which can lead to slavery (addiction to substances, etc.)
  • True Freedom: The ability to do the right thing and say no to the wrong thing
    • For Christians: The ability to do what God wants and say no to sin
