[Music] hello my name is Michelle Willis and welcome to segment two of how to conduct what we're going to go over today is very simple conducting patterns that you'll mostly use there are three that are most often used the first is four four pattern where you have four beats to a measure then three four pattern where you have three Beats to a measure and two four pattern where you have two Beats to a measure so I will show you the four four pattern and I will do it with my right hand and then we'll use my left hand so that you can mirror me so a 44 pattern starts at the top of your conducting window comes down to the waist over across the body and then out out and up that's a 44 pattern I will do the counts for you 1 2 3 4 One More Time 1 2 3 four now I will do this with my left hand and you do it with your right one across the body two 3 4 again 1 2 3 4 One More Time 1 2 3 and four that is the 44 pattern for the three4 pattern we start at the same place at the top of the head and come down to the waist then instead of coming in we go out 2 and three down out and up 1 2 2 3 One More Time 1 2 3 now I will do this with my left hand and you'll do it with your right here we go 1 2 3 1 2 3 1 2 3 that is the 3 four pattern the last pattern I will teach you on this segment is the two4 pattern two4 pattern also starts at the top of the conducting window but does not go straight down as the other two patterns did instead it immediately goes out to the side of the body as if you were doing a backwards J out and up down for one up for two down up one 2 one two now I'll use my left hand and you mirror me starting at the top down down and up down and up one 2 one two one more one two so to review the 4 four pattern if you'll mirror me 1 2 3 4 1 2 3 4 do the three four pattern starting at the top 1 2 3 1 2 3 and the two four pattern starting at the top and going out one 2 one two one more one 2 [Music]
