to this i'll never get used to this this is how I want to live this is how I want to be singing i'll never get used to this there we go good morning everybody happy Saturday and welcome back to the Jesus way philosophy series guys I'm so excited about today's master class i didn't uh have a lot of time and space to market this one very much because I was too busy plugging away creating it but man you guys I'm so pumped about today's class and what we're going to talk about because I just consider it to be so absolutely fundamental to the Jesus way and uh there's a couple things I want to say before we jump in to preface today's master class and to just give you more context for why I'm doing this whole series in general and uh this series since we've kind of already laid a lot of the groundwork in our previous two iterations of ontology and cosmology today we're doing sootiology our third branch of philosophy in the Jesus way and we're going to have a lot less to a lot less groundwork to lay because we've already done that with ontology and cosmology and so we're going to be relying heavily upon the modalities we've already covered so if you haven't if you didn't join the ontology class or the cosmology class no worries i'm going to break everything down step by step but you're definitely going to have an easier time connecting the philosophical dots today if you have a good grounding in our ontology now maybe you've watched the Jesus Way podcast and our very first episode we went over the ontology of Christ James and I and we laid out what we call the five O's and the five O's are a convenient way of let's say remembering or recalling what is the fundamental inarguable and unchangeable nature of God and it's these five qualities oneness omnipotence omniscience omniresence and omni benevolence so God is one and cannot be divided god is omnipotent meaning God has all power in the universe in reality in any power you could even conceive of God has it god is omnipotent god is omnisient which means all knowing and that makes sense if God created the universe God must have all the knowledge in the universe to have created it omniresence means that God is everywhere that there is there is no place where God is not because then you'd have to define an entirely new ontology of okay what is this separate place where the one source of all existence is not and yet it still exists somehow what's that metaphysics and how do we account for that that creates a whole host of problems doesn't it so to posit separation from God creates an ontological mess that we have to solve so it's much easier to then say well then based on the laws of logic and reason it makes more sense that God being omnipotent and omnisient must be omnipresent how could God have all power and all knowledge of every corner of the universe and yet not be present in one of those corners of the universe seems like a contradiction so we have these four safely uh nailed down in our ontology i don't know of anyone who would disagree with these any theist or anyone who would even posit a deity would disagree with these four the fifth one is the trickiest one for some not all but some religiously minded people to accept that God is omni benevolent meaning God is purely good and contains no evil or no desire to do harm whatsoever so omni benevolence as an onlogical principle means that everything the creator does literally everything is only going towards the inevitable life and health and flourishing and abundance of creation god cannot do anything to inflict harm with the intention to inflict harm and so we have these five qualities now today we're going to be moving those five qualities into the domain of sotiology just like we did with cosmology right but sotiology is the branch of philosophy that studies salvation what is salvation what does it mean to be saved how do we get saved uh what is atonement what is sin and all these kinds of questions and here's what I want to say about this class today it is of the utmost importance what we say and the claims that we make about eternal life and what happens after we die and these things and I think that this conversation kind of like you know politics and religion and sexuality and diet preferences all these topics tend to be so controversial and we're so used to sort of bickering and arguing about them with one another that sometimes they lose their significance in our minds and so I want to just take a moment for us all to take a deep breath into this idea we're tackling today and understanding this idea about salvation that we're discussing today is absolutely worth discussing and absolutely worth putting through the most rigorous testing and scrutinization of epistemology and the laws of logic to really make sure have we questioned everything we say we believe about salvation and eternal life until we can come to the safe conclusion that we cannot seem to find a contradiction in this belief and that is the only responsible and reasonable way to arrive at knowledge and so we're going to be bringing in another branch of philosophy today much like we did last month if you remember if you joined us we went over cosmology which is the study of the universe and the laws of the universe and this and that but we we relied a lot upon teiology if you remember now teology if you didn't join that class is the branch of philosophy that studies final causes meaning what is the ultimate driver for everything in the universe te teology says that everything in the universe has a purpose and a a conclusion for existing right so we said that the teological purpose of the heart is to pump blood through the body so we could say this is like the destiny of the heart is to pump blood and give life to the body uh the lungs the purpose of the lungs is to breathe oxygen into the body and so on and so forth we talked about the soul's purpose and all of this so teology is a massively important branch of philosophy to study and understand if we want to have our cosmology correct and we want to really question the things we believe right we don't want to just gullibly accept whatever dictates and doctrines are handed down to us from orthodoxy because even orthodoxy criticizes that approach right christian orthodoxy looks at every other religion in the world buddhists Hindus Muslims Jews you're all wrong because you didn't really question what you believe right if you had questioned your religious indoctrination you would come to the conclusion that only Jesus is the way so this is kind of the mindset right in religion is like oh nobody else really questions their beliefs but you know we Christians do and we know that all these claims are true and yet of course questioning beliefs almost never takes place in Christianity it is deemed heretical it is deemed blasphemous or uh it is it is painted and described as being dangerous right to question what you believe and what I want to say is that that is the most selfish arrogant and irresponsible way to try and arrive at truth because it's not an honest approach to truth right if you don't put your beliefs and your claims through a rigorous test of logic and reason and truth meaning when I question this belief right when I hold this claim of mine like Jesus died for my sins and his blood atones for the forgiveness and blah blah blah any of these claims these theological claims we must know this first and this is going to be a major theme in today's master class all theological claims all of them are actually secondord metaphysical and ontological claims i'll say that again all theological claims are actually nothing more than second order ontology claims and second order metaphysical claims here's what I mean again if you watched our first Jesus way podcast we hammered this idea that we absolutely must begin and end with ontology with the nature of God and what do we believe about God's nature and why do we believe it like why do we say that the creator must be omnipotent in these things once we have these ontological characteristics nailed down that is our epistemic process that is our epistemic foundation for everything that we do all the beliefs we claim to hold have to be filtered through that ontology because that's the first order claim right before you can even claim something like God can forgive sins seemingly a simple theological claim yeah who would even think to question it further well let's question it do we have ontological beliefs that would justify that claim well we say God is omnipotent meaning God has all power and so to say God can forgive sins would be ontologically justifiable or epistemically justifiable meaning we have good reasons for saying that because our first order claim matches it and does not contradict it but if we reverse that claim and say God cannot forgive let's say without a blood sacrifice or blood ritual or some kind of atonement sacrifice offering that's the theological claim hebrews 9:22 there's no forgiveness of sins without the shedding of blood whether an animal or Jesus okay now we've just made a statement a theological claim about what the creator can't do for whatever reason so that's a second order claim let's go to the first order meaning what precedes our theology is ontology right does our ontology allow for God not being able to do something and you say "Oh well absolutely not we literally claim the opposite we claim God has all power which means God cannot be limited." So if we're going to hold this belief God can't forgive you unless there is bloodshed first well then we've got to really run that belief through an epistemic process to see if it adds up and that's what we're going to do today my friends and so the branch of philosophy we're going to be looking at today in addition to sotiology or let's say the dance partner we're going to use for our sotiology is a branch of philosophy called epistemology and it's one of my favorite branches of philosophy to study and we're going to go deeper into what that is in a second but just a quick definition for you would be that epistemology is the study of knowledge or how do we arrive at knowledge how do we know something is justified and true versus unjustified and false epistemology is what gets us there it gives us the tools and the processes to scan through any claim we make to see if it holds up logically and so we're going to be taking the traditional religious statements of salvation claims right through an epistemic process to see if they hold up and then we're going to juxtapose that with what Jesus taught about salvation specifically the three axioms of Jesus's sotiology as it is taught in the Bible in the New Testament and then we're going to conclude today's presentation looking at near-death experiences specifically Christian near-death experiences we actually have six Christian NDEs uh lined up for you today at the end of the class that we're going to look at to see what actually happens to people who go through the death process with these religious beliefs about here is the purpose of the universe it's not really to love other people it's not really to be kind and grow spiritually to become more Christlike none of that stuff can save you you'll go to hell doing that stuff the purpose of the universe is these beliefs so if that's our claim that's an extraordinary claim isn't it the entire purpose of the universe is confess Jesus and believe in his death and resurrection all right well that extraordinary claim requires extraordinary evidence and so let's put it through an extraordinary testing process through the the the greatest philosophical rule set ever created for helping us arrive at truth what should we have to be afraid of right what's true will always hold up to scrutiny and so when we know that all truth is God's truth we are no longer afraid to question what we believe but in fact questioning what you believe is the most loyal act of devotion to truth that there is because it means that you know you are convicted in your being truth cannot be refuted the truth will always stand clear when it is tested when you put the truth under fire what is real cannot be burned away right only what is not true can be burned away and so when we realize this we actually become very eager and zealous to question our beliefs and to keep questioning and keep questioning and keep questioning until there is there are no more questions left on the table this is the only honest way to arrive at truth my friends and whether you're a Christian a non-Christian an atheist a Buddhist a Hindu a Muslim does not matter everybody from every belief system religion philosophical viewpoint everybody will gladly and willingly tell you "Oh I'm very honest about the way I approach my beliefs i'm very open-minded." Even uh I've had many conversations with like devout fundamentalist Christians and I say "Are you are you open to changing your beliefs if you're presented with evidence that proves to the contrary would you be open to questioning your belief?" They all say without hesitation absolutely i'm very open-minded i just want to know what's true so everyone is making this claim aren't they i just want to know what's true i'm just a super honest person i don't want to believe something that I think is right so that I feel good no no no that's ego stuff i'm super virtuous and just want to know what's true and so let's take the world at their claim yeah let's say okay cool christian Muslim Jew Buddhist atheist who whatever nihilist you guys are all super honest and just want to know what's true so here's how we do it this is the only truly honest way to arrive at truth and any other means of not questioning what you say you believe rigorously demonstrates that that person is not actually as honest as they say they are about their beliefs because if you're not willing to genuinely and deeply question what you believe you're believing it for your for the sake of your own ego right not because you have a fierce devotion to truth and so when we know that all truth is God's truth it's impossible that something can be true and not be of God then we become very eager to put everything through epistemology the laws of logic and these kind of things we're going to go through today and so since what is true really matters doesn't it we should want to know what's really true at all costs because all truth is of God and so when we question our beliefs we will inevitably find out what is true or at least we will find out what is definitely not true and we can trust that and so this is why this conversation matters you guys is that what we say about what happens to us after we die the purpose of our soul being here at all i I I genuinely can't think of something more significant than this and this is something that when I have conversations with Christians I will often say to them look I am genuinely open to believing what you're claiming i just need to see real evidence and I need you to show me your epistemic process what is your epistemic process for arriving at these conclusions because if you just come up to me and say something like "Hey did you know that God can't forgive you unless you murder something and sacrifice it on an altar?" I would say "Wow that sounds utterly insane do you have any proof for that claim?" Because if somebody came up to me and said "Hey did you know that there's a pink elephant in your basement?" And if you don't feed it cotton candy every day it'll die i would say hm I'm going to need to see some extraordinary evidence how did you come to this conclusion that there's a giant pink elephant in my basement that eats cotton candy can you show me this elephant can you walk me into my basement and show me and if they say "No you got to believe it on faith." I say "Okay bye-bye my friend thank you but no thank you i'm not interested in man-made beliefs and dogmas i want to know what is absolutely and fundamentally true in reality and so you only act upon what you believe is true right it is impossible to act upon something you genuinely don't believe is true and so the e the only evidence we need to know that I have no such belief in my brain that there is a pink elephant in my basement that eats cotton candy and that it will starve if I don't feed it how do we know that Aaron Abkey doesn't have that belief because no one has ever seen me talking about that or storing up cotton candy to feed the elephant or going down into my basement with cotton c there is no action or behavior in my life that would demonstrate I really believe that now we juxtapose that with religious people who have been taught since birth since childhood as I was and many of you were god is angry you're totally depraved you're a wicked sinner etc and we say do Christian behaviors demonstrate that people believe that that they're not worthy of God's love and they're inherently evil and all of this and we would have to say yes absolutely yes i myself lived in abject fear of God in many ways and and carried tremendous guilt about my behaviors and and self-devaluation and depression and always crying out to God please forgive me Lord and all my behaviors demonstrated the God I believed in and I believed all of those things for 24 years until the point where I was willing to question them and say "Do these beliefs hold up to logic and the other things I say I believe about God?" Like if I say God is love can I justify that claim alongside God wants to torture you in hell forever if you don't repent and stuff and I found I I can't I can't figure out how that is justifiable the law of non-contradiction says something cannot be its opposite at the same time so a purely black ball cannot also be a purely white ball at the same time it's the law of non-contradiction god cannot be pure love and pure evil at the same time and so when I questioned my beliefs about God they all began to unravel and only what was fundamentally true remained in the ashes and what was fundamentally true after all of the questioning was that really the only truth I can know for certain is the infinite love of God for all things and the only way I can know that truth is because my direct experience proves it to me and that's my epistemic process when I live out of alignment with God's love as Jesus said when I judge people when I put somebody out of my heart when I fear when I doubt when I don't trust I suffer and my experience of reality is significantly diminished that means something doesn't it that is uh there's another branch of philosophy called ethics which kind of deals with this of like if a belief leads to truly virtuous behavior more kindness more generosity more patience forgiveness and all this nonviolence if a belief leads to um a virtuous behavior that is grounds for philosophical justification meaning that must be a true belief if it leads to good fruits as Jesus said ethical behavior so that's the study of ethics so like my behavior became more ethical became more sane and grounded and peaceful and all of these things right when I lost those old beliefs from the religious dogma I was brought up with that God is angry and all this stuff my life improved significantly and just that alone is grounds for epistemic justification as we'll see but beyond that the beliefs I hold now I question them on a very regular basis i put them through the test and I always am questioning what I believe about the nature of God against other things I say I believe and I cannot find a contradiction anywhere and so that doesn't mean there isn't a contradiction in what I believe that doesn't mean there isn't any fallacies in what I believe it just means I may have not found them yet but what it does mean is I am being responsible with my belief system and we all want that don't we we all want to know hey I have good reasons for believing what I believe and if I'm impressed on it I can give an answer right away without hesitation i'll tell you exactly why I believe what I believe and it won't be based on circular reasoning or question begging like "Well the Bible says it." Sorry that's not epistemic evidence right you can't just say "Well this book says that this book is blank." I can write on a sticky note this sticky note is infallible and say "Oh you have to believe this." No I don't you just wrote it on the sticky note yeah I know but the sticky note says it so you have to believe it that's what it is to claim that the Bible says "So I believe." That's just a subjective opinion can you put that belief through a test of logic and reason and see if it holds up does the metaphysics and ontology work out or does it collapse upon review and so with all that being said this is why I'm so excited about today's master class because what I want to do for you guys and everybody who ever watches this is put to bed once and for all of this fear of God all of this guilt all of this shame we live with because we were raised religious or just raised in a Judeo-Christian country that these beliefs and stigmas about you're not good enough you're not worthy until you do XYZ or believe XYZ all of this is a mind virus from the negative polarity to control and limit humanity's potential for spiritual growth the only way we as a planet will be able to transcend third density and truly ascend to the next level of consciousness that God has prepared for us which we call the fourth density the the love density yeah love and unity we cannot have that if there's still dogmatic religion running the planet whether it's Islam Judaism Christianity Catholicism any monolithic religion when as long as religions want to control the minds of the masses with fear and guilt we cannot ascend to the fourth density and so it will be a natural process over the next some odd hundred years of religion gradually dissolving out of the picture of human consciousness as we come and emerge into the awareness that there is only God and only God's love is really true and the only thing I can truly know without any doubt whatsoever is I am that's my epistemic process and you say Aaron how do you know what you believe is true how can you where do you start to even know what's true i say 'Well I start with the only thing I can prove the only thing I can actually know without any shadow of a doubt I exist i am and I read in this book once called the Bible that the creator of the universe actually identified itself to the prophet Moses by that very name when he was asked I am that I am and so that resonates with me that that must be the creator's true identity the first person in the present tense I am or consciousness itself and none of us can deny this right if I asked you hello sir ma'am do you exist you would laugh at me and say of course I exist how else could you even ask me the question if there's a me that you can ask I exist that's logic and so if we start there we realize yeah the only thing we can know is that consciousness is awareness being existence is and it's eternal and cannot change you cannot know yourself as a second person you cannot cease to exist or cease to be aware as we're going to look at today as we go through NDEs at the end of the presentation even people that die in their physical bodies don't cease to exist or stop being aware but they have a even more profound sensory experience and so these are the the responsible ways to arrive at conclusions about what is the purpose of life what is the purpose of a human experience and how can we safely and reliably arrive at conclusions that feel justifiable in this regard and thankfully we've been given a huge leg up because of the teachings of Yeshua the Nazarene which we'll look at so with all that being said I'm going to share my screen and let's dive into today's presentation and I think we're going to be able to finish hopefully we'll see within the two-hour mark but I make no promises my friends all right so this is our third episode in the series the sootiology of Christ so sotiology comes from the Greek sotyia um salvation plus logo equals the study of this is the branch of theology that deals with the doctrine of salvation so the core questions that sotiology aims to ask and answer is things like why do humans need salvation how is salvation accomplished what role do grace faith and works play who can be saved and how what does it mean to be saved these are the critical questions we're going to answer today oh and what is justification so we have four parts to today's master class and the first part is picking up where we left off last month in our cosmology class right this was the axiom we hammered from the beginning the universe is law if you don't understand this you will not understand anything else this is the absolute foundation of everything else in the Jesus way philosophy god's universe is built and functions off of eternal invisible laws that cannot be avoided and cannot be broken we are all every one of us at every moment of our existence under the constant influence of these beliefs and so I think we would do well wouldn't we to let the significance of that fact really set in and say "Wow I am always under the influence of eternal cosmic laws." Well I guess if that's true and there's absolutely nothing I can do about it I might as well accept it and learn what these laws are and how to live in alignment and harmony with them so that I can have the best possible experience of this life because we all know what happens when you violate a law there are penalties right so let's look at our sootological axioms for why the universe is law in in Matthew 5:18 Jesus set the precedent for this when he said "Truly I say to you until heaven and earth pass away," so that's the universe cosmos right until the cosmos pass away not a stroke not a dot will pass from the law until all is accomplished and so here's our axioms number one all truth is God's truth this is an axiom that cannot be refuted there is no truth that is not God's truth meaning something can't be true and also not be from God at the same time it's a contradiction of logic the second axiom is only the truth can save only the truth can save so we cannot be saved by falsity this is huge you guys i hope no one's overlooking the importance of this axiom here if it's true that we can't be saved by any other power other than the truth then shouldn't we be very eager to question our beliefs to make sure that we're not believing something that's false and this is what I will often say is look I respect your beliefs when I'm you know when I have Christians pushing theological doctrines on me and stuff you need to believe this or you need to believe that or you're a heretic like hey my friend thank you so much for sharing your beliefs i really appreciate it but I'm very hesitant to just accept someone's claim that's not been justified and proven first because I don't want to believe anything that's not true i really don't i am so devoted to my creator and my creator my God is perfect truth and nothing else and so I am very unwilling to risk adopting an untrue belief because whatever I believe that's not true takes me further away from God which is my one priority in life is to be as close to God as possible and so I want to be as tr as close to truth as possible so my friend I will grab you by the hand and jump and celebrate with you at the truth of this claim if you can prove it to me and if you can justify it to me and so I just kind of lovingly put the ball back in their court and say "Can you walk me through your logical process for how you know these things are true?" And I think this is the best possible approach you guys to interacting with your religious friends and family because the ego the religious ego wants to have a dog fight right and wants to have a debate and I'm going to shove my beliefs down your throat into until I beat you into submission with them and this is the outcome the ego fantasizes about is having a a grueling debate with a heretic and having them fall on their knees and repent for their wrong beliefs and accept my theology and it's just never happened in the history of the universe right two two angry egos that both want to be right are always going to end in a stalemate and both sides are going to be even more convinced that they're right at the end of it so we want to always approach these kinds of interactions with the opposite energy with a very depolarizing energy and I think Jesus put it best when he said "Agree with your adversary quickly lest he send you to the judge and throw you in prison." And I think that's the right approach it's like always agree with people meaning let them feel seen and heard and accepted you don't need to say "I refute that," or whatever because if you don't believe it and you you genuinely don't believe it's true then what are you threatened by you know like what's true can't be threatened and what isn't true doesn't exist and has no power so if you're really convinced that's what somebody believes is utterly false you would have no defensiveness about it you would have no you know your your fangs wouldn't be coming out you've got nothing to prove you just want to help this person and so the more defensive and offensive somebody gets about their beliefs the more that reveals deep down they have cognitive dissonance don't they they're not actually fully certain that this belief is true and they're trying to prove it to themselves by defeating you and proving it to you right if I can prove it to you I'm really secretly proving it to myself i have good you know reasons for believing this because I just convinced somebody else of it this is the only epistemic process the ego has is debating and convincing other people to believe what it believes and so I think in a in a way of preparing ourselves to help be a positive agent of of change and evolution on this planet we're all going to interact with lots and lots of religious fundamentalists in our life and I think having the right approach to these conversations can just be massively beneficial so I hope you can soak in what we're about to go through and kind of imagine how you would have a similar conversation if you're ever pressed by a Christian you know your mom your dad your friend who's trying to tell hey all this new age stuff you believe is evil and you should repent say "Hey I'm absolutely willing to repent can you just show me how you're so certain that what you believe is true and not a contradiction and here's what I'm looking for i need logic i need reason here's a simple process where we can question our beliefs together we'll question mine with the same process we'll question yours with the same process and when you go through the epistemic process we're going to go through today and you wind up showing them hey your beliefs are very contradictory based on what you say and what you claim then we're just saying look I'm just trying to be honest i'm not attacking your beliefs i just want to see if they hold up to these time-tested philosophical methods and if they don't I'm just unwilling to accept them that's all i'm not trying to uh you know Christians will accuse you of you're trying to bend the truth to your will you're trying to you know whatever believe evil things and spread evil hey look I want to show you I'm absolutely not trying to believe something evil or or cover up the truth of God's word i'm genuinely committed with all of my heart to only believing what I know can be true what I can prove to be true and if something just continually doesn't doesn't hold up to the questioning process I'm just going to be hesitant to believe it if it was a Muslim asking me this if it was a Jew having this conversation it would make no difference the fact that you're a Christian makes no difference to me i'm committed to truth my friend and what I found is that that is a very disarming approach that at least allows the religious person to walk away saying "Well you know I still think they're deceived and stuff but at least they're honest and they have good reasons for believing what they do." And they're not like trying to attack God's word by not believing it they just can't see a justifiable reason for it and that is a very powerful thing to have somebody walk away from a conversation with it's like wow that person's definitely definitely means well you know they have a very like uh a very honest and uh methodological approach to truth and who can't respect that right even the most avid fundamentalists can at least have respect for the fact that like them you are zealous for the truth in your own way and the way that that opens up people's minds to question and especially when you show them how to question properly I promise you their brain is going to start running more of their beliefs through these questions and processes and over time that seed is going to grow on fertile soil and they're going to realize yeah you know I really can't justify these claims and it really does contradict what I say about the nature of God so all truth is God's truth only the truth can save us and three God's truth applies universally and this one's also important but maybe a little trickier to see the importance of what this third axiom is saying is that whatever is true whatever whatever the laws of the universe are and whatever constitutes salvation would be the same for everybody everywhere yeah so if it really is you got to confess Jesus died for your sins and have this certain belief in your brain about an event called the resurrection if that is the way we get saved from sin that would apply to everybody right hindu Buddhist atheist nihilist everybody alike and likewise if that is not what salvation means but if salvation is something else such as alignment with universal law wink wink then that would also apply to everyone the Christian the Buddhist the Hindu the atheist alike so all truth is God's only the truth only the truth saves and the truth applies universally just so that we know that even from a Christian paradigm these axioms are absolutely biblical we have these three verses for the first axiom all truth is God's truth jesus said "No one is good except God alone." James 11:17 "Every good and perfect gift is from above every good and perfect gift." Yeah coming down from the father of lights and then Psalm 119 the sum of your word is truth and every one of your righteous rules endures forever all truth is God's truth axiom 2 only the truth can save john 8:31 if you abide in my word you are truly my disciples and you will know the truth and the truth will set you free can I get an amen john 14:6 I am the way the truth and the life no one comes to the father except through me me being the Christ the I am what a difference it makes yeah to be the way to be the truth and the life rather than just a student of the truth a traveler of the way or a seeker afterlife jesus put it in the first person present tense i the Christ the I am the existence the consciousness the being itself that speaks through this physical flesh suit that is the way itself that is the truth itself that is the life itself could it be that knowing that truth can actually save someone we'll see psalm 25:5 "Lead me in your truth and teach me for you are the God of my salvation." So your truth is my salvation yeah axiom 3 God's truth applies universally matthew 5:44 for he makes the sun rise on the evil and the good and sends rain on the just and the unjust universal application isaiah 45 turn to me and be saved all the ends of the earth well that sounds like every nation tribe and culture doesn't it for I am God and there is no other to me every knee shall bow and every tongue shall swear allegiance so really we we need to see these statements from the Old Testament we need to read them ontologically versus oh this is like a an actual monarchical being a a male figure with a beard in the sky there is no person who said this statement right this is an ontological claim from God's very nature itself right from the truth of God's omnipotence omniscience etc this is God's nature saying every knee shall bow to my truth every tongue shall confess my truth why because there is no other there is no other there's no other truth in the universe there's one truth and only that truth can save and so therefore that one truth must apply universally to everyone titus 2:1 for the grace of God has appeared bringing salvation for all people all means all okay so now let's look at epistemology a little bit deeper epistemology is how we arrive at knowledge epistemology is the study of knowledge or how we know what we know epistemology asks questions like what is truth how can we know if something is true what counts as evidence or justification can we trust our senses reason or faith um epistemology also asks questions about these certain terms like belief belief is accepting something as true even if you don't have direct knowledge of it yet right truth is what corresponds to reality so what holds up to scrutiny yeah truth is reality so it holds up to reality we're going to use the term justification a lot which is basically having good reasons or evidence for a belief and then finally knowledge nosis knowledge is traditionally defined as a justified true belief so from an epistemological standpoint knowledge means a justified truthful belief so we have these four terms knowledge and what is knowledge it is a justified truthful belief meaning you believe it like you're convinced in your mind that this is true it actually does hold up in reality when it's scrutinized and questioned like it's raining outside and you walk outside and it's raining okay that's a justified true belief yeah you have all the evidence you need so now you don't have to say I believe it's raining outside you just say "I know it's raining outside." There's no belief required at all but that doesn't mean belief is a bad thing at all belief is very good and belief is what leads to knowledge and I've said this in some of our other master classes actually uh I I have a whole section on this in my book coming out in August on the three beliefs saying that if you want to truly shift a belief you've got to believe in its antithesis first meaning if we accept we all have the belief in lack fundamentally at a subconscious level we all believe that I am a lacking incomplete self and what I need or want is potentially probably lacking from the universe and I'm not sure if I can get it these kinds of things when we know we believe that the only real medicine is to begin forging a new belief that no this is my father's universe and my father is omnipotent and has infinite supply available at all times and so I affirm the truth of abundance that I am lacking nothing and I am already perfect and complete and so we give you guys these mantras right i am a perfect being in heaven here and now we have you guys loop these mantras in our programs um I am free right now in heavenly reality why do we use these affirmations you guys is because we're trying to implant new beliefs in your brain in your circuitry and that belief like a seed planted in the soil will eventually grow into knowledge meaning you will begin to accumulate experiences that prove and justify the claim that I am a perfect being in heaven here and now your life will begin to show it to you you'll start to realize "Wow I really do have the perfect body my body is perfect it's never at fault or making a mistake likewise my life experiences are perfect everything that happens ends up for my highest good." And you start to see these things in reality and then you don't even need these mantras anymore do you you don't need to keep saying every day I'm a perfect being in heaven here and now because now you know it's true you have no sis it's a justified true belief but until it's justified you need to keep believing it and holding on to that belief and questioning and questioning and questioning that belief until there's no more questions on the table until you've questioned that belief into justification you say it holds up every angle I question it from it holds up in my experience so this is epistemology is how do we move from belief to knowledge so let's go deeper on that together so belief versus knowledge so we have these four epistemic categories okay the first category is what we just said a justified true belief so for example you look at the clock at exactly 2 p.m and it says 2 2:00 true it's 2 p.m you believe it's 2 p.m and you're justified in believing it because you've looked at your phone and checked the time you have good reasons yeah the second type is a unjustified true belief so this is a little bit tricky let's say you look at the clock at 2 p.m but you don't know it's broken you just assume that it's working so you happen to look at the clock at 2 and so you believe it's 2 but in reality you're not actually justified in believing it's 2:00 because the clock was actually broken and so if you look at that same clock in an hour you would not be justified in claiming that it's two if you looked at it an hour earlier you would not be justified in claiming that it's two because it would be wrong right so this is not a reliable or justifiable way of arriving at knowledge and yet it just so happened to be true when you looked at it right so that's the uh paradox of an unjustified true belief it's like it's true you believe it but you don't really have good reasons for believing it it was like a lucky guess or something let's say the third category is a justified false belief interesting huh a justified false belief what is that well that's when a belief is false it's not true but you do believe it and you actually have good reasons for believing it and this happens very often right especially in the realm of like science and physics a lot of times scientists really believe in a certain uh law of physics or equation or whatever theory hypothesis and they have good reasons for believing it but at some point some scientist questions it in a certain way and it fails and it doesn't hold up they say "Oh we just disproved this hypothesis." and the scientists go "Oh wow we were we were justified in believing it until we had this evidence." You know that's a justified false belief so when our our analogy here would be like looking at the broken clock at 300 p.m but it still says 2 and a friend also told you that it's two and so you have no reason to doubt your friend that'd be an example of a justified false belief right the fourth category is a unjustified false belief and this is where religion lives my friends and so we really want to be in any other category other than four ideally we always want to be at one right we want to have a justified true belief but at times we'll be in category two and category three and that's inevitable in life you can't know everything at all times but especially with our spiritual ontological metaphysical beliefs we want to live in one and when it comes to theology ontology metaphysics religion lives here unjustified false beliefs meaning these beliefs are not true but they're believed in strongly but yet they're not justified they don't hold up to scrutiny there is no good reason for believing it other than the Bible says my pastor said I was taught this you know just outsourcing to an authority figure or something these are the only reasons you're really ever given when you question religious beliefs and that's because the religious ego doesn't want to question its beliefs because it doesn't want to know if they're not true it likes the certainty the ego the religious ego likes the power that it gets from believing in these doctrines and the way it can wield these you know theological beliefs to sort of bludgeoning them over the head of non-believers right you better believe the Bible or you're going to go to hell ego loves that stuff right ego is not willing to give up its its toys in that regard so the majority of religious people unless they're kind of going through a spiritual awakening are not going to take their beliefs through these epistemic processes but that's exactly what we're going to do just so we can see what happens when we do that so again just a summary of these four categories i don't think we need to belabor that anymore now with what we know let's process some claims through these beliefs so we always have a proposition which is a claim or belief in something that could be true or false yeah that's what a proposition is in epistemology we have justification which is having a logical or rational reason for believing something and then we have a new term called a defeater in epistemology a defeater is a fact that sorry if the subject sorry a fact that the subject is not aware of at the time of their observation which would otherwise defeat their justification if they had known it so that's what a defeater is it's a defeater is something that if you had known it it would actually refute what you're saying you believe or you would at least have grounds for saying "Ah wait a minute not so fast i got to work this thing out first i didn't I didn't take this into account." So one example would be you're staring at a lake from far away and you see a few ducks right on the lake just floating there peacefully and so you turn to your spouse and you say "Hey honey there's ducks on the lake." And your spouse's like "Oh that's great honey." A defeater for that would be that actually these ducks are just decoy ducks rubber ducks floating in the lake to attract real ducks so that people can hunt them so you actually are not looking at any real ducks there are no real ducks in the lake there's just plastic objects floating there called decoy ducks but you're far enough away that you can't really tell the difference right so that would be a defeater because you didn't know it was true at the time of your observation now are you justified in believing that there's ducks on the lake absolutely your senses reported it so nobody could fault you right for not knowing that there was no ducks on the lake it really appeared to you in your direct experience that there was nevertheless this defeater came in and changed your opinion you went "Oh okay i didn't know that those were decoys." Now I would not say that anymore i would not say there's ducks on the lake okay so just using that example we're going to apply that to again theology in a second so one more example let's take a propositional claim it's raining outside okay so that claim could be true or false who knows if it's true or false let's question it so we need justification for this claim such as I believe it is raining outside because I hear raindrops hitting my window okay so that's great justification from a perspective of logic and reason nobody would ever say to somebody who heard the sound of raindrops on their window "You idiot why would you believe that it's raining outside just because you hear raindrops on your window you're a buffoon." Right you would say "No that person's the buffoon right that's a very good reason to believe it's raining." So that's epistemic justification and yet there's a defeater it's not raining but you didn't know that why because actually you just forgot to turn that you had turned on a white noise machine a few hours ago that plays rain sounds in the background so you kind of you were in a workflow you tuned it out and then all of a sudden you hear the sound of rain you're like "Oh man it must be raining outside." And you text your partner or whatever "Hey it's raining outside babe." You're like "Oh cool cool." And like wait no it's not raining where I'm at are you sure it's raining you're like "Yeah yeah I hear I hear the sound of raindrops on the windshield." Oh oh I feel so dumb i'm sorry i forgot I turned on the noise machine a few hours ago it's definitely not raining and you open the curtains and boom it's sunny outside okay so that was a defeater right you didn't know that at the time of your observation so you were justified and so this is where an honest religious person would find themselves when confronted with epistemology and metaphysics right you were told these beliefs that God is angry at you and you're totally evil and going to hell forever unless you confess you were told this stuff by well-meaning adults as a child who really believed it themselves they weren't just like tricking you or something right and everybody in your immediate environment in your social group also believes these things so everybody is justified in this regard for holding religious beliefs but once you bring in some defeaters for those beliefs now you are responsible for taking an honest look at those things right and saying "hm I'd never questioned this before." But um I often have these conversations with my dad uh when they come over for dinner or whatever and we'll talk about these you know different metaphysical beliefs about God that we always had as Christians and kind of look back now at how foolish they are and how contradictory they are and my dad will sometimes say like "I can't believe it took me so long to see that." And I just throw my head back and laugh sometimes and say "Dad trust me I get it man i had the exact same feeling when I was you know in my mid20s and just questioning everything I believed and realizing man none of this stuff holds up to scrutiny how did I not see this sooner?" It's like it doesn't matter when you see it does it it doesn't matter when somebody wakes up to the truth all that matters is that you wake up to the truth in your lifetime even if it's on your deathbed you know and this is unfortunately what religious people tend to be very hesitant to accept is that I've lived my whole life maybe I'm 50 60 70 and I've gone to church every Sunday and tithed and lived a letter perfect Christian life and now I find out like most of it's not true that's a tough pill to swallow it truly is and I don't blame any religious person for being for feeling that hesitancy to accept this idea that their beliefs might not be true but if you if you flip the script on that a bit and say actually arriving at truth is something extraordinarily rare in in the human experience right most people live from a cradle to the grave believing nonsense that's easily refuted with logic and reason but they've never really questioned it because again their parents believe it friends believe it why question it's more comfortable to just believe what everyone else believes it's justifiable it is and there's no judgment in it but what we want to do if we know that the truth belongs to God is we want to make sure we're not holding false beliefs so a good question to ask would be are there any potential defeers for my belief such as uh you know we believe and teach here in 40 university that God is omnipotent and cannot be limited can we find a defeater for that like think about it right is there something I might not be aware of that would unjustify the claim that God is all powerful and at least what I found you guys is you can sit and contemplate these questions for a long time and come up with no answer and so I would suggest spending no more than five or 10 minutes and proving to yourself yeah I can't figure out a way that I could make this claim not true a justifiable way you could just say no God's not omnipotent but it's like what's your proof you know these facts of God's nature are logically obvious and self-evident right whereas what is false and not true of God is self-refuting and we're going to look at that next so part two of this presentation now is the epistemic process and so this is these are things you can learn and practice that you can teach other people if they are interested in how to really question your beliefs from a responsible philosophical method like epistemology so we're going to look at the laws of logic we're going to look at truth tables which is a uh a modality used in epistemology we're going to look at propositional logic which we've actually already looked at a little bit and then a a fourth epistemic process called reductio add absurdum so let's begin with the laws of logic the first law of logic in philosophy is called the law of identity which says everything is identical with itself so a is a in other words a statement or thing must be consistent with its own nature that's what this law says because without this we couldn't define anything everything would be a everything would blur into everything else so one example would be that if Jesus is fully God then he cannot be fully man because it's A is A not A is B if Jesus is fully man then he cannot be fully God in this regard so this duality between fully man fully God is epistemically unjustifiable from this perspective from the laws of logic the second one is the law of non-contradiction which we've been over already something can't be true and false at the same time um any contradiction is logically invalid so example would be Jesus cannot be both fully God and fully man at the same time whoops fully man at the same time so that would be like saying Jesus is fully square fully circle you'd be like "Hey my friend that is a nonsensical statement." Third law of logic this law is a little trickier to understand it's called the law of the excluded middle so it means there's no middle ground between truth and falsity there's no hybrid of true and false there's no like it's partially true and partially false when it comes to metaphysics it's either true or false so there's no third option in between true or false and this doesn't mean that there's no nuance but it means that in strict logic a proposition must fall on one side of the equation so either it's raining or it's not raining either the resurrection did happen or it did not happen there isn't a h the resurrection kind of happened we would have to deduce that statement of okay what kind of resurrection are you talking about then well it was a spiritual resurrection okay so the claim is actually that Jesus resurrected spiritually not bodily okay is that true or false so you see we want to get down to the most justifiable claim we can make so here is an example of a truth table with the claim if it is wet outside then it is raining so you can see here this is how epistemology or epistemologists run claims and propositions through a truth table to see if these variables when we switch around the variables how does the statement hold up so we have the antecedent which is being wet outside and then we have the contingency or the consequent which is that it is raining so if we switch these two variables around it is wet outside it's not wet outside it is raining it's not raining what is the conclusion is this statement true and in all cases but one case the statement if it is wet outside then it is raining holds true the only time the implication is false is when it's wet outside but not raining so literally when there's just a contradiction in the statement so you have to make a contradictory statement to make this not be true so that's just an example you don't need to think too hard on that or try to break your brain on it because we're going to elaborate now so here's another explanation just so you understand how the laws of logic are applied to statements we're just looking to see if a if a statement is justifiable right not if it's factually true not is it literally raining well that's not we can't prove that just with logic alone right we need evidence logic alone says all we can do is test these two variables against each other in all four possible ways so if it's true that it's wet and it's true that it's raining then the proposition is true if it's true that it's wet but it's not raining the proposition is false you see that if it's not wet but it is raining the proposition is technically true why because the condition wasn't met so the statement can't be invalidated if the original condition wasn't met and then if it's false that it's wet and false that it's raining that's an opposite statement which doesn't necessarily unjustify its antecedented the opposite right we can't know just because it's dry outside that if it was raining it wouldn't be wet so this is how logic works when we apply logic to propositional claims again you don't need to think too hard on that we're going to unpack it now so let's use a Jesus way philosophy claim and run it through a truth table an omnipotent God cannot have limitations so this is the way a truth table would change this p represents omnipotence and Q represents limitations so if God is omnipotent and has limitations the statement is false but in every other variable it's true it holds up logically so only one case violates the claim which is affirming both omnipotence and limitation which violates the second law of logic in every other scenario the implication holds logically true even if God isn't omnipotent it would still hold true because it doesn't falsify its opposite yeah so what that means is this claim an omnipotent God can't have limitations is very very justifiable because the only way to make it false is by literally just contradicting it right saying God is omnipotent and has limitations okay well that's a contradiction so that doesn't work so the only way you can falsify that statement is to introduce a contradiction so we can say wow that's a very epistemically justifiable belief about God's nature so in summary all theological beliefs are really secondord claims about ontology and metaphysics to make claims about what God can or cannot do must be justified ontologically and metaphysically first so this is what is never done in religious dialogues or debates right when I talk with Christians and say "Well hey look I understand you believe in this verse and you think that this verse means this and you might be right but I interpret this verse to mean that." So how do we know whose interpretation is true and the Christian will usually try to appeal to church fathers or my pastor said or most Christians believe this they'll outsource to some other person or thing as their evidence but those things could also be wrong right after all Christians believe that every single Muslim walking the face of the earth is absolutely wrong about their beliefs so it is possible in the Christian worldview to strongly believe in something and be utterly wrong at the same time because Christians believe that's Jews that's Buddhists that's Hindus that's Muslims they're all completely deceived and yet they're very convinced so the Christian must apply that same logic to themselves and say "Well perhaps might I be unjustifiably convinced in a certain belief?" Well the only way I can know is to run my beliefs through an epistemic process so that's why I ask Christians hey can you show me what's your epistemic process for believing that about God because ontologically that's a violation and whenever I use that term ontological or metaphysical violation I'm usually met with well I don't care about all that philosophy stuff that's man's wisdom i care about God's wisdom in the book and I say ah not so fast because see you even saying this book was written by God and contains no errors okay that is a philosophical metaphysical statement yeah that is a metaphysical claim which therefore requires an epistemic justification so you can't say "Oh I don't deal with metaphysics and philosophy that's man's wisdom i just deal with the word of God." It's like "Hey my friend you're already kneede in philosophical claims so you do need to deal with philosophy and metaphysics you do need to show me how you can justify these claims about God's nature based on your claims of God's nature." Yeah it has to be consistent and so that is the standard we should hold everything to religious or non-religious so example if God is omnipotent he is complete in power complete in essence and being therefore any proposition asserting that something could be added to God implies that God was lacking which would therefore contradict omnipotence so I know that this is like yeah Aaron ABC123 we know this stuff this is obvious logic nonetheless we need to it bears repeating to to really iron over these reasonable logical processes because when we get into more complex beliefs we need to apply the same simple standards as this which we're about to do so what happens when we run the Protestant Christian claim hebrews 9:22 there is no forgiveness of sins without the shedding of blood hebrews 9:22 all right so that is a metaphysical claim isn't it so since these are very abstract concepts you know forgiveness sin blood shedding of the blood we have a lot of abstract concepts here what does this mean what does forgiveness really mean what does sin really mean there's a lot of things we have to explain from this order of the claim so one way to make this simpler when we know that all theological claims are actually just second order ontology claims is we just go right to the ontology say okay so what does this claim mean and say about God's nature and does it hold up when we look at the ontological and metaphysical implications well when we do this we're looking for something called contingencies a contingency is when you say X depends upon Y or it is necessary for X that Y okay so that's a contingency you're making a claim about what something is dependent upon or contingent upon so in these kinds of claims there is no forgiveness of sins without the shedding of blood that's our contingency without the shedding the shedding of the blood is the thing that Christians claim is what grants salvation right there has to be bloodshed given unto God so let's put that through a simple test of the laws of metaphysics and ontology so when we reduce this down there's no forgiveness of sins without the shedding of blood here's what we get the the metaphysical ontological claim really being made is this they say "Yeah God is omnipotent every Christian will tell you that God has all power." Then they'll go on to say 'But also only God has the power to forgive this came up in the debate that was in and I said "Yeah I agree only God can forgive because only God can do anything." And if you're uh thinking a course in miracles here just understand we're just talking about on the relative plane of how we experience salvation it's like I can't uh I can't make somebody else feel forgiven for their sins only God in them can do that for them right god is the only atoning power there is is really what we're saying so overlook the word semantics a bit god has all power only God can atone cleanse heal forgive sins so we agree up to this point yeah you'd say "Yeah yeah I'm with you i'm with you." And now there's a third point introduced a contingency which says ah wait but those first two things depend upon a third thing and we say okay so now you've introduced a third claim in this proposition so we got to test that we got to see does that logically hold up and so this claim God is omnipotent only God can forgive but God can't forgive without the shedding of You are saying simply this an omnipotent God can also have limitations because right here you're saying cannot so you've you've used the porative term yeah christianity God can't it's it's not possible somehow for an omnipotent God to forgive without bloodshed hebrews 9:22 the word of God says that God can't forgive without blood all right we're going to take that at face value and put it to the test an omnipotent God can also have limitations when we run that through the same unbiased impersonal epistemic process these are the results if God is omnipotent and has and it's false that God has limitations then that belief is false if God is omnipotent and does have limitations this statement would be true right so this is what the Christian has to work with how can an omnipotent God have limitations because that's the only way you could justify the claim is if you could somehow prove that God is limited in every other case it's false and here's the kind of breakdown of it which I won't belabor so this is a very epistemically unjustifiable belief there's three out of four are false when we run it through a truth table so it's not logically holding up is what that means so the statement an omnipotent god can also have limitations is only true when you accept both premises at once which creates a logical contradiction under classical propositional logic and so we just did this with the being wet outside and raining right the only way we could make that false is if we make a contradiction out of it which is how we can say okay this is a very reliable belief so in epistemology a belief is justified if it fits coherently into a system of beliefs so like if you say you believe something and yet everything else you say you believe contradicts that you've got a problem don't you because if everything else over here is a justified true belief well then this one should harmoniously fit perfectly with all your other beliefs so that's another epistemic process is do are there any other beliefs that contradict this one and so this is the purpose of the reductio add absurdum process which is Latin for like reducing something to absurdity so reductio is used in this way to test for epistemic justification if a belief or proposition when it's followed to its furthest logical consequence can lead easily to absurdity or contradiction or incoherence this undermines its epistemic justification so in other words if it's really easy to reduce an argument into absurdity like if this then that and that would be grounds for deeply questioning its justification because what's true cannot be taken into absurdity so likewise if a belief is resilient that is it is very difficult or impossible to extend it into absurdity that would be a sign of epistemic strength or justification so example claiming nothing is knowable is actually a self-refuting claim because if nothing is knowable then even that belief itself can't be known which is self-refuting so if you can't know anything then you can't know that nothing is knowable so that'd be a a reductio adab absurdum right easy to take that one into an absurd conclusion if we take the claim an omnipotent God cannot have limitations it is difficult if not impossible to stretch that into an absurd conclusion and I welcome anybody to try in the chat if you if you're feeling brave how do you make God being omnipotent has no limitations absurd or insane right it's it's a very reasonable sane conclusion to come to so here's what we're going to do now which is going to be really fun we're going to take the five O's of God's ontology because remember this is our epistemology is the nature of God whereas the Christian weighs everything they believe about what they think the Bible says about it right that's their epistemic process which isn't real epistemology but you get the point right that's the Christian's way of arriving at truth is do I think the Bible says that you know if I find a verse that I interpret as saying that I go "Okay cool it's true case closed." But is it true can it be falsified that's not a reliable epistemic process our epistemic process is the inarguable facts of God's nature does this belief contradict any of these agreed upon facts of God's nature and so we're going to run the claim there's no forgiveness of sins without the shedding of blood this is a Christian axiom right that any denomination of Christianity would valiantly affirm yes brother there God cannot forgive us without the shedding of Jesus's blood that was the contingent act okay so what does that say about oneness if we stack that claim up against God's oneness how does that reduce itself to absurdity well very quickly the reductio is God is divisible right if God has to send the majority of God's children to eternal separation in hell then God is capable of being divided now why is that the case if God is divided from his own creation which is his own image and likeness Genesis 1:26 then God is not indivisible god is not one being because God has divided itself into two beings right one that's being tortured one that's not being tortured if everything God has created does not abide in God's being but splits off into a state of separation then God remains divided the Bible clearly states that in him we live and move and have our being therefore it logically follows that whatever has being has God for there is no other source of being so this is strict propositional logic impossible to argue with this if you accept this claim is true right that in God is where we live move and have our being okay cool that settles the whole matter whatever has being has God whatever lives and moves has God agreed agreed now if these God beings beings that possess God's image and likeness and live and move and have their being in God can be truly separated from God god is divisible period there is no other metaphysical conclusion otherwise you have to prove how God's own image and likeness and being can be separate from God and not be divided at the same time that's that's a contradiction so this constitutes an onlogical fallacy it is a violation of God's oneness to claim that God can't forgive God's own children without killing God's children that's a contradiction let's look at omnipotence when we put this claim Hebrews 9:22 through omnipotence here's the reductio god doesn't get what God wants and let's explain so the Christian claim is that God does not want to torment his own children in hell forever so this is important right this this is the Protestant Christian claim and I think it's the claim of every denomination but I grew up in Protestantism protestantism so that's the only one I can speak to but this is the claim without any doubt right no Christian will say "Oh yeah God loves torturing his children in hell." I mean maybe some would but I've yet to meet a Christian who would say "Oh yeah God just delights in torture." They say "Oh brother oh sister it's so sad god doesn't want to send them to hell." It's a total bummer for God because God is love but and there's the but here comes a contingency god can't forgive without the shedding of blood see that's the predicament that God finds himself in and so unfortunately even though God doesn't want to torture his children God does anyways that's the logic we're dealing with so if somebody sins then it forces God's hand to torture them unless they confess the blood of Jesus so what they're saying is that God must relinquish his precious children whom he could easily save with his omnipotent power in an infinite variety of ways but God doesn't so to summarize God doesn't get what God wants god's will fails to accomplish itself if God has all power and is not willing that any should perish but most of them do God doesn't get what God wants jesus said Matthew 18:24 "It is not the will of your father in heaven that any of these little ones should perish." Second Peter 3:9 says "God is not wishing that any should perish but all should reach repentance." So that's what the claim is of God's will that none should perish and all should be saved so if the majority of God's children do perish God's will has been subverted there is no other conclusion to come to this constitutes an onlogical fallacy of omnipotence let's go through omniscience now when we run omniscience through this claim it comes down to the reductio of God having a split mind meaning if you say God can't forgive his own children without shedding of blood you are claiming God's mind is split god has a divided mind why is that true well if it's if the claim is that God didn't mean for creation to become sinful God didn't mean for creation to fall but it happened accidentally adam Eve ate the apple boom the whole creation floundered into oblivion and God was like "Oh man I didn't intend for this." Oh okay how do I save my creation now i know i'll make a rule that I can't forgive them unless they shed blood and so all they have to do is offer lots of animal sacrifices and I can continually forgive them so that is the claim whether it's made that way or not that is the claim that God came up with this plan yeah to save the world from this big accident that occurred and it's blood blood is the thing blood is the contingency so if accidents can occur in God's universe God does not in fact have perfect fornowledge right god didn't see the fall coming yeah such that God could have avoided it or came up with a better plan of redemption for humanity so if God is not willing that any should perish and yet most of them do God was either unable to invent a better plan or and this is the real reductio is that it means God literally wants and doesn't want the same thing at the same time or in other words God simultaneously wills that none should perish and does not will that none should perish why because most of them do so God wills and doesn't will perishing h sounds pretty facious doesn't it if God's will is divided God's mind is divided and so Christianity always posits a divided will right they they'll say gladly and freely with no blushing about it oh God didn't want any of this to happen it's not God's will that any should perish it wasn't God's will that Eve should eat the apple and creation fell but uggh it happened and now God has to deal with it and so God's way of dealing with it is sending his son okay you just claimed that God's will is divided god's not willing that they perish but they do and so to say that God's will is divided is saying what it's saying God's mind is divided it's saying that God both wants and doesn't want the same thing at the same time god has a split mind which is an ontological violation of omniscience god having all knowledge and perfect knowledge god's mind can't be divided and be perfect at the same time so this is an epistemically unjustified belief from the perspective of omniscience now let's look through omnipresence what does omnipresence say about Hebrews 9:22 well the reductio is God burns himself in hell and I know that sounds funny but that is the only metaphysical conclusion one can draw from this line of reasoning here's why the claim is not that God is not the one burning in hell for all eternity but his separate creations so this is the Christian claim when you say "Hey if God sends God's children to hell then part of God is burning in hell." They say "No no no no you've got it all wrong your metaphysics are screwed up it's God's separate creations that burn not God god is totally divided from God's children god doesn't experience any of the burning just the separate children of God experience the burning right this is the claim this is the argument and so if you posit that then you have to justify that and in order to justify this claim one would then need to demonstrate how God could be absent where his own being is we already said Acts 17:28 in God we live we exist we move we act and we have our being so nobody lives nobody moves nobody breathes nobody acts and nobody exists apart from God there is no other source this is clear metaphysics this is consistent non-contradictory metaphysics yeah God's the only source simple and so you're the one if you're making this claim right the Christian the burden of proof is on the Christian to explain how a separate ontology apart from God could exist and go on burning in hell why because all Christian theology gladly affirms that God is one and cannot be divided right this is a a tried and trueue belief in Christianity god is one deuteronomy 6:4 and so God's creations therefore if God is one we're we're just taking your claim at its word right if God is one then God's creations are not divisions from himself but they are extensions and expressions of himself this is the only justifiable metaphysics if God can't be divided then we are not divisions apart from God god can't be divided so what are we then if we're not separate divisions that are separate from God well we're nothing other than manifestations of God we are expressions extensions of God there can be no other i am the Lord beside me there is none else isaiah 45:5 so the only proposition where the idea of hell works then if you hold omn omnipresence yeah so you know God is omnipresent even King David said it right psalm 51 if I make my bed in hell behold O Lord you are there so unless you disagree with King David we all agree God is omnipresent and so if that's true the only way that you get hell is if God burns in hell simple logic the only way you justify hell meaning a place where people go after death to be tortured is if it's God being tortured because there can't be a separate place where God isn't how does that place exist in him alone we live and move and have our being nothing can exist in a separated state it is an onlogical fallacy and then finally omni benevolence what is the reductio when we run Hebrews 9:22 god can't forgive without bloodshed what is the reductio conclusion here well it's the conclusion that God's love must also be evil let's unpack it the claim the Christian claim is that God loves us unconditionally but be beyond what we can think or imagine go to any church on Sunday tomorrow and ask the pastor "Sir does God love me?" They'll say "Oh my friend God loves you unconditionally beyond what you can even think or imagine you think your parents love you it pales in comparison to the love of God for you." Every every Christian pastor would affirm that but at the same time they would also affirm that God allows the worst possible thing to happen to God's children if they don't believe the right things yeah so God being omnipotent and omnisient means God can easily save his children from eternal hellfire by giving them opportunities to redeem themselves through longsuffering and good deeds and stuff right god could put a soul in hell on a long and painful process of redemption and I think none of us would have a problem with that and say "Well that's not uh just." No it's totally just yeah go and experience every evil thing you did to anybody and work it out and atone for it and make it right step by step right relive your whole life or something like that there are so many ways you guys that God could justifiably redeem people in hell and that's what makes the Christian claim so extraordinary and that's why we have to test it because it's a big deal if you go around telling everybody hey you will experience neverending agony in hell with no hope of redemption if you don't believe these things that is an absurdly extreme claim to make to somebody and so you better have some extraordinary evidence and proof to back that up we can't just allow such statements to be made without an honest reflection and questioning of them and so this is how we do it we say can we draw that conclusion to an absurd premise pretty easily and oh boy a loving God can't forgive without death i mean that statement itself is an absurd conclusion the God of life can't forgive without death but you just said God was the God of life god can't a loving God can't forgive without harm and evil but you just said God was loving so it's already a contradiction but when we really parse it out this is how insane it gets an omnipotent omnisient God could easily save his children from eternal hellfire right or he could even just wipe them out if he wants just end their suffering and since Jesus preached the necessity of forgiveness towards anyone it would only be rational to conclude that Jesus believed that forgiveness was also God's nature and so God could easily forgive the souls in hell god could allow them to redeem themselves god could annihilate them yet for some reason God doesn't do any of this according to the Christian claim right the claim is God could forgive nope but doesn't god could give them a path of redemption but doesn't god could just end their misery but doesn't he allows their torment to persist forever and that that is somehow seen as just that's the claim and so that claim means that God's love is also evil because you don't get to say God loves you beyond you can even think or imagine even an earthly parents love is nothing compared to God's love but God also allows the worst imaginable fate to come upon those children God loves that is the most absurd possible conclusion you could ever draw about the nature of God i'm sorry but it is anybody with remember how we said ethics right ethics is a branch of philosophy that looks at the way that philosophy affects behavior and living in the world and what ought we to do what is the right thing to do and it says that when a belief leads to positive healthy beneficial outcomes that belief is more than likely true yeah and so would any parent any of you listening right who have kids would you ever torture your child in hell for any reason whatsoever before I even get the statement out you're already refuting it in your mind yeah the the answer is no a resounding no i don't care if my kid murdered every person that ever lived i still would never think of subjecting them to eternal conscious torment i would rather them make up for their wrongdoing as long as that takes them but you've got to make up for your wrongdoing right self- responsibility that's what every good parent teaches their child so we have no grounds in reality in the human experience for believing this yeah there is no evidence in reality that love could justify eternal torture jesus taught us to forgive 70* 7 and so that is grounds for thinking that that's also what God does why would Jesus teach us to do something that God does not do i mean wasn't Jesus here to teach us what God is like so now let's go to part three jesus's sotiology on earth as it is in heaven this is how Yeshua understood salvation so thanks for making it through the first two parts i know that was probably a little bit painful in some regards because we've all wrestled with these dogmatic beliefs and refuted them many times over but here's a very rational and systematic way to do so because sometimes the best way to understand something is to really and thoroughly understand what it's not and so the reason I spent the first two parts of this presentation showing you what salvation is definitely not is so that your heart will sing when you see and hear what it really is because knowing what is false affirms what is true it validates what is true and the gospel that Yeshua actually taught my friends is the eternal truth of God's universe and we're going to see strong evidence for why that's true so Yeshua said "Your kingdom come your will be done on earth as it is in heaven." This is the mission the purpose of Jesus's gospel everything Yeshua was teaching in the first century in his lifetime was predicated around this outcome of bringing the kingdom to earth just as it is in heaven jesus said "My kingdom is not of this world." And Jesus said "Nor will anybody say 'Look here it is there it is for behold the kingdom of God is within you." So here is what Jesus said about the kingdom yeshua's cosmology understood that the universe is law and all of God's laws are based in God's nature which is ultimately one and so the law of one is the entire basis for sin and salvation that's one of the big points I hope everybody takes away from this master class the law of one is the entire basis for defining sin and salvation for one is saved by following the law while one sins by transgressing it in other words all sin is the doing of harm whether to self or to others to want happiness for yourself while actively denying it or taking it from another sentient being is a violation of the law of one which will of course incur the same measure of wrath upon the violator this is karma this is sowing and reaping which Jesus taught over and over in all Jesus's parables karma means your own doing it's not a punishing God it's not an angry God it is law it is physics it is mathematics it is cause and effect universal law functions just as impersonally and consistently as do the laws of physics it is cause and effect action and reaction there is no punishing God this is Jesus's sotiology and so what I hope you get from that is that if you do sin let's say you do harm to somebody in some way you you say a selfish statement right that hurts their feelings and you go "Oh man that was so rude of me to say that." Well is there any utility in feeling guilty for that we always want to feel empathy for sure and say "Oh that was a violation of the law." But to shame myself and denigrate myself for violating the law is there any utility in that and we could ask the same exact question of tripping and falling yeah if you step on your own shoelace and fall on your face is there any utility to to laying there face down on the cement and saying "I am such an idiot i'm not even worthy to walk because I tripped like a buffoon an evil tripper is all that I am people would be like "Hey man you might want to see a therapist you're talking to yourself in all these weird ways like you fell just get up it's just the laws of physics man it's impersonal like physics isn't punishing you because you stepped on your shoelace it's just cause and effect it's just impersonal that is the laws of God." Meaning God is not enacting these laws against you personally with some kind of motive for or against you this is what the ego projects this is what the religious ego mind assumes is the case and so this is what it means to say the universe is law it means that these laws are functioning universally right they're third axiom universally applied all of God's laws function forever cannot be abridged cannot be avoided and only obeying and following God's laws can save why because what does it mean to be not saved it means to be out of alignment with God's laws so salvation is really just getting back into alignment with what is always true can I get an amen is that good news to anybody today salvation isn't coming to the right beliefs salvation isn't agreeing with what the preacher says and having an altar call and confessing Jesus none of that is salvation my friends salvation is getting back into alignment with the natural order of God's universe meaning only we ourselves have deviated from God's laws and so only we ourselves can repent turn around turn away from the sin the violation and get back into alignment with God's laws and Jesus gave us multiple ways to do this in his gospel so Yeshua clearly knew that the universe is law since all of God's laws are byproducts of God's immutable nature then God's kingdom is already present and available right where we are i'm going to repeat this again because the universe's law and all God's laws are really just byproducts of God's nature right god is one god is omnipotent god is omnisient these facts of God's nature are felt and experienced by us as law meaning the law of attraction the law of reciprocity like these laws can't be violated right try though you may go ahead and think negative thoughts all day and then come back and tell me if you attracted positive experiences out of those thoughts a 100 times out of a hundred you'll say "Yep that one can't be violated the way I think produces my reality." And you have to convince yourself that that's true but that's because that's God's nature god's nature is one god's nature is love god's nature is truth and so if you're thinking unloving untruthful thoughts you're just sort of trying to violate God's nature which is impossible and so the violation comes back upon the violator in that regard so because all of God's laws are God's nature and God's nature is already fully manifest yeah that means the kingdom of God is present and available right where we are and this my friends is what Yeshua knew and was the foundation of all his teachings right where we are the kingdom of God is present the kingdom of God is at hand jesus said in the Gospel of Thomas Jesus said "It's already spread out across the earth but men are unaware of it." So we're trying to become aware of God's kingdom we're not even really trying to manifest it or make it so it's already fully manifested it's already so we're trying to come into alignment with it in our mind and awareness so it awaits only our manifestation of it in other words yet this manifestation is just a returning to God's law because humanity is presently engaged in countless forms of extreme violations of divine law humanity is drowning in its own karma so the only way to undo this kind of collective karma is for humanity to repent turn away from their selfish ways and begin loving one another this is what Yeshua taught us so God's kingdom in other words is God god's kingdom is God himself and God's nature is already fully manifested everywhere as St thomas Aquinus affirmed which we've looked at God is the only being in existence says Aquinus who is full actuality with no potentiality meaning everything else in the universe has the potential to change and evolve but God is the one being who is purely actual and has no potential god is already fully manifested god cannot change or evolve right isaiah 45:5 I the Lord do not change and so therefore the kingdom of heaven reaches out to take our hand in every moment if we can simply as Jesus said keep the commandments stay in alignment with the law and God's law is what what is the law of one it is to love one another and to never do harm that's the golden rule that's the greatest commandment as Jesus was asked about it when we learn to live in loving obedience to the law of one we are healed of all our self-induced suffering and this is the only salvation that there is so this is the way I want to reframe salvation for you forever and this is the way that I believe Yeshua saw salvation and the way that we teach salvation in the Jesus way philosophy salvation or being saved from sin is nothing other than cleaning up all of our own violations of God's laws we alone are the one who is in our thoughts in our actions violating the law of one by judging people putting people out of our heart not trusting stepping into fear stepping into victimhood stepping into lack anytime we do any of these things we're stepping out of alignment with God's law and so we must suffer that's just the natural consequence being out of alignment with what is true can only produce suffering why because only truth produces freedom and happiness so this is a simple cause and effect there is no third contingency here of a punishing God who's deciding who to make suffer and make free there is no punishing God and Yeshua taught no such thing right yeshua taught about God as a law set a set of rules we have to learn about and follow and for example uh the wicked servant is one perfect parable analogy where Jesus said "Look this is how the law works one servant was forgiven by his master a large debt and said "Thank you master you're so merciful." And then that servant went home and did not extend the same principle to his servant but said "I judge you you wicked servant you haven't paid me back my four pennies I loaned you i'm going to throw you in jail." And Jesus said "The man's that man's servant will hear news of this and call him back and say you wicked servant I forgave you all of your debts and you ought to have extended the same forgiveness to your servant and because you didn't you yourself will be imprisoned as you imprisoned your servant so there it is the law of reciprocity right jesus tells these laws in story format with the the ruler the king and the person and they have a conversation but God Jesus is not saying that God is like this that God is like a person who's getting angry that we don't forgive it's all metaphorical jesus is saying this is the way it works y'all the kingdom of heaven is like the kingdom of heaven is like it's like this it's like that it's like a person who bought a field it's like a pearl of great price it's like a wicked servant these are analogies for what laws spiritual principles that are universally true for everybody so in the wicked servant Jesus is showing us the law of giving and receiving if you want to receive forgiveness love freedom whatever you've got to give it because if you deny it it is denied from you that's the law of giving and receiving the law of attraction so with that being said here are the three axioms of Yeshua's sotiology number one is repentance to enter the kingdom jesus said "Repent for the kingdom is at hand." And then in uh Luke 18 he tells the parable of some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous and treated others with contempt and then says "For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled but he who humbles himself will be exalted." So that's a law yeah that is a principle it's not a contingent idea or something he's saying this is the way it works exalt yourself you get humbled humble yourself you get exalted that's repentance we cannot enter the kingdom of heaven that is now and at hand if we're living in violation of it and so Jesus taught us to repent for the kingdom is at hand meaning the moment you acknowledge your mistake and you turn away from it and you repent before God you are in the kingdom period so forgiveness and repentance is the first pillar of Jesus's gospel before you do anything else you've got to do this you've got to repent and forgive others from there we go to the second axiom which is obedience obedience is how we stay in the kingdom and isn't that important we We don't want to get continually kicked out of the kingdom of heaven and have to keep getting back into it and repenting non-stop jesus said "Look just keep my commandments obey my commandments." And Jesus said "Why do you call me Lord Lord and not do what I say if you love me obey my commandments it's for your own good Jesus is saying and I'm gonna give a little shout out to our homie Paul because Paul does deserve some credit y'all when Paul gets it wrong oof he gets it really really wrong but when Paul gets it right he gets it very right and credit where credit is due paul has some bangers y'all and Philippians 2:8 is one of them paul said "Being found in human form he humbled himself and became obedient even to the point of death on the cross." I love that number one Paul affirms that Jesus was fully human he was a human paul says he was born after the flesh of the lineage of David um Paul totally nukes the idea of a bodily resurrection and Paul totally nukes the idea of the virgin birth because Paul says he was born after the flesh you know son of Joseph and all that never mentions the virgin birth and Paul in First Corinthians refutes the idea that Jesus was resurrected bodily and not many people know this but go read first Corinthians paul over and over again rebukes the Corinthians for saying that Jesus was raised bodily and says "No the immortal the mortal can't inherit the immortal the corruptible can't inherit the incorruptible jesus was raised with a new spiritual body which is incorruptible so like wow thank you Paul for actually being our best evidence against a lot of the dogma that came down the pipe from the gentile Catholic Church paul is actually our best evidence to refute most of those theologies and right here he gives us a great one for obedience jesus obeyed to the point of death on the cross and he was a person just like you so if Jesus can be obedient even to death on the cross I'm sure you can do it too you can love your neighbor you can forgive you can not judge because look what Jesus did i think that's the right attitude so round of applause for Paul third axiom then is love and service to others to increase in the kingdom jesus said "Whoever wants to be the greatest of you must be the servant of all." Right so that's how we increase jesus is saying "If you want to increase in the kingdom of heaven be the servant of everybody." That is how we polarize on the positive polarity that is how we increase in the kingdom of heaven and Jesus said "When you didn't love the least of these you didn't love me." So I want to go through I want to just show you we're not going to read any of these but I want to show you all the scriptural evidence for these three axioms now again Christians will tell you let me see if I can go full screen real quick christians will tell you this is the gospel of Jesus and I'm accused all the time right some of y'all see my comments i'm accused all the time of preaching a different Jesus preaching a different gospel and I say "Oh I'm so sorry please tell me what different gospel I'm preaching." And they say "You don't preach that Jesus told us to confess him as Lord and Savior and believe in his death and resurrection." And that is the gospel of Jesus jesus came to this earth to teach us this if you don't confess me as Lord and if you don't believe I was I died and rose again you'll burn in hell forever all right that's a big deal that's what Jesus came to teach okay let's just go to the Bible to see if we find any proof of that and what's funny is we don't Isn't that interesting don't you think oops there we go don't you think that if that really was Jesus's gospel you have got to confess me as Lord yeah yeah yeah loving your neighbor that's fine you know forgiving people that's great but none of that stuff gets you to heaven though that's just like practical moral advice for salvation's sake huh when it comes to salvation oh buddy you better confess me as Lord and believe in my death and resurrection well when we look through the Gospels for any such mention of Jesus saying these things we don't find one single verse do we there isn't even a verse that comes close to hinting at the idea that Jesus wanted anybody to confess him as Lord and Savior but we do have many verses where Jesus angrily rebukes people who call him Lord Lord because why because they didn't love their neighbor as themselves they didn't obey his greatest commandment and so if Jesus's gospel was not repentance obedience and love and service if those three pillars are not Jesus's gospel well we've gonna we're going to have a hard time explaining why Jesus talked about repentance so much look at all these verses repent for the kingdom's at hand they They suffer because they didn't repent repent repent repentance repentance repentance for the forgiveness of sins repent repent repent it's weird you guys although Jesus only came to tell us to confess him he just blathered on about this repentance thing hm maybe that's because repentance was an absolute fixture in Jesus's gospel and we would do well to elevate it to its prominent position turning a turning your heart away from sin and turning your heart to God is how you get forgiven that is inarguable in Jesus's gospel jesus said in Matthew and in Luke "If you do not forgive others their trespasses your heavenly father will not forgive yours." Why because you're violating the law god is law the law of one if you treat someone else as if they're not one with you you get treated the same way by God that is Jesus's sotiology unquestionably inarguably so repentance and forgiveness was the first piece of advice that Jesus had to offer to the world you guys are violating God's eternal law of one by hating and judging and attacking and harming each other repent and turn your heart to God Jesus cried out what about obedience did Jesus talk much about obedience to God oh boy look at all these verses keep the commandments obey the commandments why do you call me Lord not obey we could go on and on seems like Jesus really cared about us following his commandments and didn't seem to care at all about us calling him Lord or believing in his death and resurrection even after Jesus rises from the dead he doesn't tell anyone to believe in his resurrection but what does he say he says "You are my disciples if you do what I command you." He says "If you keep my commandments you'll abide in my love forever and my father's love because that's what I do." Obedience is an a staple of Jesus's gospel you cannot say you love Jesus you cannot say you love God and violate all God's laws by harming people so obedience is the greatest act of devotion to God it's bakti yoga it's a it's a joy to obey God isn't it what about love and service did Jesus tell us we should love people and serve them and be good to them oh boy did he love your enemies jesus says "Pray for those who persecute you do unto others as you would have them do to you for this is the law." Whoa that's a pretty bold statement do unto others as you would have them do for this is the law that's what Jesus Christ said y'all isn't it interesting how you've never heard a pastor say that in church that this is God's law for us for all of humanity is to do unto others why isn't that taught and emphasized in churches if that is clearly what Jesus taught and emphasized you shall love your neighbor as yourself there is no other commandment greater than these not even confess me not even believe in XYZ not even believe in the trinity the nine creed there is no other commandment greater than these and yet how many Christians really prioritize loving their neighbor as themsel they like to judge their neighbor oh yeah you heretic you this you that but love it's kind of a rare commodity in religion isn't it why is that why is it that the religion that bears his name does not teach and practice the things that Jesus taught and practiced i still haven't found a good answer to that question here are some more verses about love and service and in fact this one's the funniest to me you guys i'm continually confronted with "You're teaching a worksbased gospel that's heresy jesus didn't teach a works-based gospel." This is a consistent claim I hear from Christian friends and so I say 'Well that's really weird you say that because on four occasions in the New Testament Jesus explicitly says,"I will judge everybody according to their works." He says it three times in Revelation he says it explicitly once in Matthew 16:27 that God will repay everyone for what he has done interesting right well let's see if that's true we've talked about epistemology yeah we've talked about the laws of logic and reason testing everything against logic reason and metaphysics so do we have any justification in reality for these things well we already talked about the fruits of these beliefs jesus said "Hey you can always know a tree by its fruit." If someone is becoming more loving more forgiving more patient more kind more generous you know they're eating from a good tree it's impossible they could be eating from a bad tree because evil can only produce evil and good can only produce good so if these beliefs that we practice and teach produce good fruits that alone is epistemic justification rather than becoming bitter and cynical and judgmental and everyone's a heretic you're all going to hell that's not good fruit is it so we can judge a tree by its fruit that's already some grounds for justification but is there anything more than that are there real life experiences that are consistently verifiable that attest to this and my friends the good news is yes near-death experiences I think are the greatest miracle the creator's given us that the creator allows many many people millions of people who have gone through the death process to remember their experience when they come back and not everybody remembers it but I think most probably do and when we study near-death experiences from a scientific or philosophical perspective all of the all the doctors and and research scientists who study NDEs always come away with the same conclusions and they read like a page out of the book of Matthew or something they read exactly like the sermon on the mount you know love your neighbor as yourself this is the greatest this is the whole reason we exist is to know God by loving others this is what people universally say from every culture from every religion you have a Buddhist die have an atheist die have a Christian die you name it and they will all come back basically saying the identical same message i learned that it's all about how we treat people and that only loving people is what matters in eternity and that is exactly what Yeshua said and so the good news is Yeshua's gospel is confirmed by near-death experiences we have real epistemic grounds for believing what Yeshua taught us we don't have to just take Yeshua's words at face value and say "Well I just believe it because he said it or I believe it because it's it's in the Bible." Well that's fine but we have a lot more proof than just that reality itself is confirming these claims so I just want to read you one or two uh research scientists who who've done these extensive studies on NDEEs and read you their conclusions scientists by the with the last name Sabone Dr sabone after completing a rigorous study of 116 NDEs and then observing NDEs and their after effects in his own patients over 20 years as a cardiologist found that NDEs produced a stronger faith and a higher level of commitment to traditional religious practice and that just means like spiritual practice not like Christianity or something but they became more uh they prayed more they meditated more something like that which he thought in turn affected the medical outcome although he originally had approached the study of NDEEs as a skeptical medical scientist expecting to find these experiences were misfirings of a dying brain he eventually concluded that they were instead powerful spiritual experiences whose underlying message was consistent with divine revelation from more traditional sources sabone found beliefs common among indie ears that seemed consistent with Judeo-Christian worldviews he reported he reports that more than half of his sample of ND ears reached a point where a decision was made either by by or for them as to whether they would return to physical life and 40% of them described an encounter with a presence not always a visible presence but one that included an auditory or telepathic conversation sometimes the presence would describe specific consequences of the decision whether or not to return including information about what would occur if the experiencer chose to return to life this often was accompanied by a life review and sometimes a preview of events to come in which the experiencer evaluated his or her life most experiencers interpret this sequence of events as a direct encounter with God and with God's unconditional love so the reason I pull this out is that this is a non-religious non-spiritual scientist's conclusions about NDEs after these rigorous studies so this is not a spiritual person necessarily like who's meditating every day or whatever reading Course of Miracles coming to these conclusions this is a rational probably materialistic scientist coming to these conclusions now my favorite one is a philosopher by the name of David Lurmer who was asked to give his philosophical insight of the result of these studies and here's his conclusion british philosopher David Lurmer presented NDEs and particularly the moral assessment that takes place in the life review as providing an experiential basis or moral order on empathic resonance with other people meaning the direct perception of an intrinsic interconnectedness and interdependence of all living beings he argued that in the life review one experiences firsthand with compassionate and empathic understanding how one's thoughts feelings and actions affect others so again just like Jesus's gospel this is the theme you always get when you study NDEs it's like others others others how did you treat others why is that important because the way we treat others externally is the way we treat ourselves internally and this is the course in miracles approach to mind training and mind healing is everything about how you see yourself judge yourself and treat yourself is being constantly out pictured in the way you treat others so just clean up your perception and behavior towards others and it will by virtue of that affect the first order cause of your relationship to yourself god's law is one god can't be divided so the way you treat others is identical to the way you will treat yourself so it's like we're training ourselves to love ourselves as we train ourselves to love others they are mutually interdependent and cannot be separated so the a course of miracles would say it's actually just easier because looking at your own inner world can be difficult sometimes it's hard to just be alone in a room and see all your blind spots yeah but if you go out into the world and you interact with people based on your reactions and your feelings and responses oh baby you're getting the full information and data set aren't you you're seeing everything about your inner world and so watching the way you show up in relationship to others is the closest barometer that we have to how we love and treat and see ourselves so this experience he reported leads to a new appreciation of the golden rule whatever you wish that men do to you do so unto them as not just a prescription for moral conduct but as an accurate description of the interconnectedness of the universe lurmer concluded that the ego shattering effect of NDEEs reveals the illusion of separate individual egos by inducing direct experience of cosmic unity isn't that amazing so these are the conclusions of scientists and philosophers who study this phenomenon and now what we're going to do is we're going to watch NDEs i've pulled out I don't know if this is going to work here i may have to share my a different screen to make this one work but and I I just There we go um we're going to watch six short clips about two to four minutes usually uh per clip and I think five out of six of these for sure maybe all six are actually Christian NDEs and so these are people who held these beliefs about salvation that we've described today god can't forgive without the shedding of blood you got to confess Jesus believe in the death and resurrection blah blah blah they all went through the death process with these beliefs and so if these beliefs are justifiably true then you would think that they would be verified yeah by going through the death process and what you're going to see is that all of these beliefs were emphatically refuted by going through the death process but the good news is Jesus's gospel repentance obedience and love and service to others is emphatically validated by these experiences and all of these Christians you're about to watch came to this conclusion and realization during their NDE so before I play this can you guys tell me in the chat really quick if you're hearing the audio when I remember looking and seeing how beautiful the flowers are because it's Did you guys hear that can somebody let me know just want to make sure it's actually coming through on your end yes awesome okay well so long as they work in this little box we will rock with it okay oh man that's uh not going to work okay and I I just remember looking and seeing how beautiful the flowers are because it's something that I really enjoy is is yard work and gardening and I just remember the vivid colors were just magnificent and then in front of me and then to the right was a tall uh grass that came up probably about my waist height and I was just standing there just standing and the next thing I knew the person that had escorted me there was not there anymore and I was by myself but it was so peaceful uh everything was it was really what I remember so vividly was I could see a long ways to my left i could see a long ways to my right i wasn't allowed to look back but in front of me was a at the time it seemed like a cloud it was just a a white cloud and all of a sudden in my mind I started watching a a video of my life and I saw it from from the day that I was born until I was 28 years old everything everything that I had done in my life good bad it didn't matter because what mattered was that's what I was being judged on was what I had done and I remember I remember some of it hurt but some of it made me feel good but it was what it was there was I had no one there to argue with no one to say I didn't do that no I did it so okay so there's a Christian man who went through had a very beautiful NDE and same lesson right ah there's no arguing with this in eternity i did do that i did hurt that person i did hold that grudge i did not forgive that person this is the groing recognition that everybody gets of how did you treat others were you Christlike and if you're not able to say yes to that usually there's a feeling of deep remorse and motivation of well then God I got to go back and do it again and bring you honor with my life i've got to do justice to your great love that you've so freely lavished upon me i've got to be able to extend it to others it's because this is our nature you guys we cannot be satisfied not living in alignment with God not manifesting God consciousness this is the purpose of our souls and if you don't realize it here in this life you'll realize it when you go through the afterlife process just as this wonderful man realized I was judged solely according to my works my beliefs didn't didn't even come up in the process they weren't even brought up by God it was literally just a life review and I was the one who judged myself in that life review this is the classic near-death experience these are going to get probably a little more intense as we go along okay so these three are for some reason not loading on the slide so what I'm going to do is share my other screen with you give me one sec i brought a backup just in case which I've learned the hard way to always do that okay and I think the next one we were going to go with was this one and as I was well the only guy the body I had this sensation of something really evil approaching me and if you you watch a horror movie and you're expecting something really bad to happen and the music changes and it gives you the goosebumps well I if I had skin I would have had goosebumps uh just for context this is a uh lifelong Christian man he'll talk about it in a second who had an NDE physically died and was taken straight into hell and so he's we're kind of catching up here halfway through and he's describing how the experience slowly devolved into him realizing "Oh my gosh I'm not going to heaven i'm literally going to hell and how can this be i was raised a Christian i can't go to hell." which you're going to hear him say in a minute and I also put these by the way on like 1.25 speed just to save us a little bit of time if it sounds fast that's why okay let's standing out didn't have a body at that point but I knew something really bad was about to happen and then right through the windows of my living room come two creatures that I'd never seen before uh they were human sized about six foot um they had normal human proportions except they were very muscular but also very emaciated like someone who had worked very hard and never been really properly fed and um they were not wearing any clothes but they were covered with a black short fur and um they had hands and feet but instead of fingernails they had talons and then their ears were pointed and then the really um interesting feature about how they looked was that their eyes were solid yellow and seemed to glow And when they opened their mouths I could see white fangs they had like vampire- like fangs and a bright red tongue i just remember that as being very stark contrast to the other color and in their hands they were car each the two of them were each carrying a set of manicles one for the hands one for the feet and they were coming at me and they were laughing and I was like who are you or what are you doing here and they said we're come to take you to hell and I was like I'm a Christian i'm saved you You can't be taking me to hell i'm going to heaven if any if if I'm not going to come back alive again and they laughed at that they thought that was hilarious and immediately they just blasted at me this list of all the sins I had never dealt with and I was like well I said nice prayer and I you know confessed to other sins and stuff but there was things in there I never even thought were sins you know exactly who you're dealing with know there's no question who you're dealing with that I knew I was dealing with Lord Jesus because he just emanated such godlike qualities so some of these I've spliced some of the best clips from so we just switched to a later part of the NDE but you heard there he said he meets these spiritual beings and let me just for one sec he meets these spiritual beings in his NDE experience that are very terrifying to look at and they have all these scary features and this is a very classic L nde type of experience that people will see these demonic entities and uh it comes up sometimes of hey do you believe in angels and demons and things like that and if not if you don't believe in angels and demons then what are these entities people encounter when they have a hellish experience and so my answer to that is that angel and demon is just a label right it's like what does that really mean though but is an angel or a demon and in my cosmology which we talked about last month there's just souls in the universe so I definitely refute the religious idea that angels are these kind of like other created beings that are in a different evolutionary process not like us at all they don't come into human form they don't live lives they're just like eternal servants of God with no free will they're just like automatons that carry out God's will or whatever i don't believe that that doesn't make any sense uh metaphysically and it just doesn't seem logical it seems a lot more logical to posit that these are just advanced souls yeah these beings of light that radiate incredible spiritual power they're just much more advanced positively polarized beings than where you and I are experiencing right now it's like what you don't think that you think this is the final stage of spiritual evolution in the universe of course not right there's many levels of densities of consciousness after this one and so an angel is really just a soul like you at a more advanced stage of its evolution and likewise a demon is a soul just like you who has chosen the negative polarity they've chosen to shut off the heart and follow the negative path and so what happens on the negative path is that negative polarization is very difficult to achieve and so souls whether they're in a human incarnation trying to polarize negatively or whether they're in the astral plane trying to polarize negatively the rules are the same you've got to make people afraid of you you've got to control them deceive them infringe on their free will you know get them to give you their free will and so what better way than manifesting as this scary humanlike creature that has all the facets that a human brain would think are scary right it's it's very abnormal very unhuman to have like yellow eyes and fangs and pointy ears it's like they're half human half creature and that's scary and it ignites the you know fight orflight response so they're trying to induce the person into a fear state because that's the first act of controlling somebody is you have to get them to be afraid of you if somebody is not afraid of you at all you can't control them right so they try to induce fear and then they try to drag that soul deeper into the negative realms and so that's what they try to do to this man and then he goes on to describe when he cries out to Jesus because he's like "What the heck man i'm a confessing Christian." Like Jesus do you even exist man man are you going to help me or what and then boom as soon as people call on God as we know in NDEs God always shows up or Jesus shows up or a spirit guide or something and in this guy's case because he was a lifelong I think Baptist Jesus showed up so let's pick up with where he leaves off here talking about his encounter with Jesus there was absolute assurance about him there was a sense of authority a sense of power um and it was it was really powerful i knew he he could have annihilated me with just a thought and so it was kind of terrifying too but then he put me at ease he he told me he knew all the sins of the demons had listed and he knew all about me and he just loved me unconditionally and that was exactly what I needed to hear american virus i knew I was lost but he loved me even in my lost state i thought that was very profound and then um he went on to say that um it was disappointed in me because I had not lived the life that was offered intention for me and I was kind of surprised at that because I had lived uh according to what had been talked about the church leadership almost a letter perfect Christian life and you know what he said to the rank and I said um he said you can go to heaven now because you invoked me and my word says if anyone calls upon the name of the Lord they will be saved but you will go to heaven as the lowest of all saints you will have no rank of no reward and it took me he didn't explain why exactly then but I figured it out later that the problem was that my motives were wrong i had not done the things because I love God or because I loved others or even that I love myself because I didn't at that point and so with the wrong motives it means nothing okay interesting did you catch some of that one thing I really appreciate about NDEs is the way that it shows God's truly unconditional love and acceptance of everybody in that people that like you'll see here with this guy and some people later people that are very religious who go through NDEs almost always have their NDE filtered through their religious understandings like Bible verses and frameworks and I think it's so cool how in his experience you know he was in the pit of hell as so many people are in NDEs and he cries out to God and God saves him and he says "Just as it is written that whoever calls on my name will be saved." It's like see right there there's an actual application of what that verse in this dusty old Bible actually means because people have been interpreting that verse to mean something totally different that you've got to confess an ideology the nyine creed and that's what it really means and then if you do that you'll go to heaven and not hell well this guy did that and he went to hell so that's not what it means that anyone who calls on my name will be saved it doesn't mean confess Jesus as Lord and Savior it means literally when you're suffering when you're in the darkness when you need help and you call out to God God will meet you there god will answer your call god must answer every call of every child that cries out to him that's what the verse means and so this is the good news about hellish NDEs in case anyone is uh struggling with this thought right now yes heaven and hell in terms of an afterlife place that souls go are absolutely real the religious connotations are not true but yes there is a place where souls sometimes go when they live a life of extreme selfishness and there's not an awareness of it and that's the big difference souls that have lived a very selfish life but have come to a position of repentance where they've realized I've been living life the wrong way i need to be kinder i need to practice forgiveness so long as a soul recognizes that they've lived a life of selfishness even if it happens right on their deathbed those souls never experience the hellish NDEs in all my studies for almost two decades now being fascinated with this phenomenon I've never come across an NDE where a person went to hell and they already knew that they lived a selfish life before they went it is always a shocking recognition to people where they are flabbergasted by this experience they can't believe they go to hell especially the Christians right and then the demons that laugh in their face for saying "Oh I'm a Christian i can't go to hell they're like "Haha you fell into our plot you fell for the trap look at all these sins dude." And they play the guy's sins for him and a clip we didn't I didn't include in that segment from the actual video he says "When the demons showed me my sins I was like "Bitch all right you got me you're right i fully deserve to be here." And he said he realized I could not argue i absolutely deserved to be where I was even though I lived a letter perfect Christian life he said "I went to church i tithed i believed the right things i told heretics they were heretics etc etc I saw I didn't love God i didn't love my neighbor i didn't forgive people all I did was selfish i lived selfishly it was all about me and my beliefs and being right and all these things and so yeah I deserve to be here." And like nobody argues with hell when they're in hell i find that to be fascinating because you would think a Christian who's confessed and believed would definitely be arguing with that hellish experience but the difference with the Christian view of hell is that they say it's eternal and there's no hope of redemption and every hell NDE on record refutes that because in every case first of all no hellish NDE on record has ever you know been said to have been eternal for obvious reasons but it's not just that all hell NDEEs are temporary and everybody is rescued from hell in their NDE inevitably it's that they all say that there's an inner knowing that this is the way that it is it's very very common in hellish NDEs that they'll say when I looked around at this dark realm of evil and suffering and pain i knew people are here because they're trapped here because they can't see their own blindness and they're they're sort of doing this to themselves and they don't know it and so when people realize the truth they leave hell and this is what NDEs classically say about going to hell in an NDE so let's look at another Christian who went to hell and see what they had to say whoops one second there we go a lot of buttons to press y'all all right i believe it's this one oh this guy and so I did i came and I So this is a lifelong Baptist preacher describing what happens when he died i I was allowed to plead my case so and I was I was I was pleading to God I couldn't see but I knew it was total silence while I pled my case i was telling him all I reminded him of all my good works i told him about all the things that I'd done all the things that's what I was basing on on my my good work i told him about all of that and when when I he was never said a word till I finished when I finished then he answered me in a voice that sounded like thunder wasn't anything like the voice of Satan had used on him he says he start I'm going to try to quote verbatim exactly what he says your faith is dead your works are in vain the life that you lived and offered to me as a life of Christian service is an abomination that I rejected in the Pharisee what made you think I would accept it from a Leo Dasian type Christian okay so what he just said is worth unpacking he said that God told him when he was like "Hey God come on why am I here i'm a Christian." He said "Your faith is dead your works are in vain." Why did God say that well he goes on to explain why but basically because his works were all done for himself and his faith in God was really just his faith in his own subjective beliefs so he didn't really take his beliefs through epistemology and logic and questioning and scrutinizing to make sure they hold up no it's just so he could have certainty and feel good about being right and having the correct beliefs and lording them over the heretics right he said "Your faith is in vain my friend that's not real faith in God to just think that you have the right beliefs and now you're good that's phariseism your faith is dead your works are in vain and he says "I rejected that false faith." Um in I forget what he says but he says "What makes you think I would accept it from a Leodyian type Christian?" Now that is a reference again God is using Christian frameworks for this guy so he can understand we can speak the guy's language but in the book of Revelation Jesus speaks to the seven churches in Asia and we went over this in the gospel conspiracy and when he gets to the Leodysian Christians he he rebukes them for lukewarm works and that's the church to which Jesus says the famous verse he says "I wish that you were either hot or cold but because you are lukewarm I will spit you out of my mouth." So he rebukes the Leodysian for lukewarm works and so he's saying to this guy that's you you're a Leodyian type Christian you're a lukewarm Christian you don't actually do good works but you're not actually humble enough to repent and see your own brokenness either i wish that you were hot or cold meaning I wish you were on fire for the true Jesus way or I wish you were at a place of brokenness and repentance and help me God you know that's those are the two positions God loves and justifies and Jesus was clear about this in Jesus's gospel god loves a broken and contrite heart so I wish that you were either cold or I wish that you were hot but because you're lukewarm I'll spit you out of my mouth and that's what this guy was told by the creator of the universe in his near-death experience i just think the implications of that are so significant well that's in fact untold millions are living the same kind same kind of life that you live and they stand in danger of my everlasting wrath unquote the living God i couldn't believe he was talking to me i'm a preacher i'm a teacher i just told him about all my good works what I'd done you know and and I said "No Lord don't you wait you don't understand." He said "You didn't do those works for me you did them for a false god." I said "Lord I worked for you i called you Lord every day." Yes you did but you never made me Lord what a difference to call him Lord gives him a title to make him Lord promotes him to ruler of life who is your Lord but Lord I was serving you no he wasn't you served a false god then he named him satan's number one selling false god s Lf instantly I knew everything he said was true oh man isn't that good you guys this one is such a heater man s E LF the false god the ego you did everything for the self and isn't that the negative polarity service to self god calls it a false god rah calls it the path of that which is not you see it's the it's always the same spiritual truths we're dealing with many religion any culture any text anything that's describing truth you get these same themes there's just two ways the way of life the way of death the positive the negative um good or evil love or fear these are the only two choices we have and this guy being a a lifelong Christian was told "You chose the negative polarity my friend." essentially is what he was told you were choosing the path of that which is not you were serving a false god but Lord I went to church every Sunday that wasn't me you were serving so again I talk about religion often as being a a negative polarity trap right but I hope that this actually justifies that claim a little bit more because when you look at what he was told how can you come away with any other conclusion right that is exactly what he was told his religion was service to a false god you are lukewarm and I'll spit you out of my mouth it's like that sounds like a trap to me this poor guy fully believed he would stand before God and hear "Well done good and faithful servant you attended my church service every Sunday you believed in my death and resurrection you confessed me as Lord." And he got the exact opposite experience well let's look at this uh I think she's a Baptist preacher as well a lot of Baptist preachers in these NDEs let me share my screen this one is woo a real heater no pun intended when I first came back my husband tried he tried really hard to convince me that everything's going to be okay i used words like "Shut up." I needed to get his attention you don't understand i'm going to go back to hell because of unforgiveness and the majority of it is because of you now there were others but Mike and I have made a rule that the only one that we will talk about publicly is Mike were there others I needed to forgive yes but I'm not trying to throw anybody else under the bus and because he's here he can handle it but I want to tell you the majority of people that you have a hard time forgiving are right in your own family it's people that you should be close to your boss your neighbor but the reality is the majority of people are in your own family we talk so bad about our families don't we when they're not around we talk bad about them we judge them we expect a perfection from them god have mercy on us mike kept trying to convince me that God wants you to use this to help other people no you don't understand if you will just shut up and listen to me you're going to go to hell too you're going to go to hell Mike because I know who you haven't forgiven this God is very serious against sin do you know he said he will come and judge the church first if he's going to judge all those lost people then all those lost people have to spend eternity in hell trust me they will be able to look at a righteous judge who judged the church first so here's what I love about this i just love the way that again God is allowing this woman free will to have her belief system still somewhat intact but it's like listen to the way she's talking right now and she will continue even it gets way better as we go but she's espousing the Jesus way basically she's saying "You got to forgive people that's all about forgiveness and God's going to judge those who claim to follow him first." You know it's like you don't hear these things from fundamentalist Baptists you hear everyone else is wrong and we're right you know and clearly this ladies this woman's NDE softened her so much and gave her such a greater and more accurate picture of what God really wants from us and so she'll still quote the Bible and she'll still reference Christian frameworks but you see this amazing new openness and this conviction in her that love and forgiveness towards others is all that God cares about and I think that's so beautiful so let's continue start here once Mike realized don't say that to her he had to try and figure out how can I help her and we were not prepared for this this was not "Oh let me send you to hell Lori because you are an evangelist let me send you to hell Lord because you're a sinner." No I went to hell because I would not forgive and I believe if I had died in that vision I would still be there and if and if I had died I was going to hell thank you Jesus that he had he saved me twice but doesn't the scripture say "Walk out your salvation with fear and trembling i was a foolish bride i was in an area of hell where my relatives were and I hated them i hated them why didn't they tell me why didn't they warn me why didn't somebody make sure that I was right with God it was 100% righteous that I was in hell i knew it was right god says "If you will not forgive you will not be forgiven." And in Matthew 18 when it talks about that servant you know the servant who went in who who owed a lifetime of debt I did some research the amount of debt that that wicked servant owed was 2,142 lifetimes of debt in a lifetime of 70 years this debt nobody could pay he couldn't pay and when he went to the king and he asked "I want my money." And his servant said to him "Oh king be patient with me and I'll pay you back everything I owe you." The king forgave that debt that servant goes out finds his brother who owes him a small debt three days wage give me what you owe me and the guy says the same thing right please be patient with me and I'll pay you everything I owe you off to jail with you he says and then the king found out about it and he brought that wicked servant back he says didn't I forgive you everything and you couldn't forgive your brother something small go get all of that debt that 2,142 lifetimes of debt go get it and put it back on him and you will not get out until you pay the last penny and then Jesus says something that is earth shaking if you pay attention he said "And so my heavenly father will do to you also if you do not forgive your brother from your heart." I knew whoops we just got to take a moment to appreciate that how cool is this you guys you have a Baptist preacher explaining karma perfectly and this is why I will valiantly defend the claim that Jesus taught karma all the time and that there is no punishing God in terms of like you've put me in a bad mood and I'm going to inflict my bad mood on you now that's not the punishment Jesus is talking about he's talking about karmic punishment yeah and the way we know is because in that parable she just told in Matthew 18 he says and the the king says to the servant and I tell you the truth you will not get out of this judgment until you pay the last penny that's karma you're paying the pennies of your own karma when you judge people and you experience the consequences of your actions there is no punishing God so karma is the one making sure every last penny is paid but what can pay an entire penalty in a moment forgiveness yeah the king initially forgave the debt and then because he didn't extend the same forgiveness that his debt came back upon him karmically yeah he says "So also the heavenly father my heavenly father will do to you." He's talking about my heavenly father's laws will do this to you too this is an unavoidable law god doesn't like decide that person didn't oh okay i'll exact that punishment now there is no punishing God i know I keep saying this but we got to hear this over and over because the the belief is rooted deep isn't it that God is angry and wants to punish us when we do wrong no one's angry and God only feels love towards us but God has given us free will so we've got to learn how to walk and talk in God's universe in a in the way God intended and that's what karma is for that's what all consequences of sin are for is learning but if you don't make the learning painful why would somebody change their ways there's got to be an incentive right so you will pay the last penny said Jesus to the wicked servant this is a karmic law Jesus is telling in a parable format uh there we go i think there's a little more on this one it was the father who had sentenced me is just what Jesus said and all of my all of my sins came back to me all of them came back to me i looked around there were people there like me believers and I know people get upset when I say this and they just want to shut off because it can't be true i'm telling you it's true jesus told you it's true if you will not obey God he will put all your debt back on you she said "I saw a lot of believers in hell looks like confessing and believing didn't do them much good did it but maybe loving and forgiving would have saved them from that consequence." The biggest lie in hell is once saved always saved let me explain what that means because not everybody understands there is a belief out there that says on the day that God saved you he saved you from all the sin you had ever done in your past that he is saving you today from every sin you're going to do today and God is saving you from ever going to do in the future don't worry that is a lie there is no repentance in that let me tell you what is true what is true is on the day that I was saved God saved me i understood who he was i came to him this broken mess god please forgive me and he forgive me of every sin I've ever done in the past what a wonderful deal and and if you will obey me Lori you can walk out the rest of your life and make it to heaven but if you disobey me Lori then you need to repent and when you repent I will give you mercy and when you repent I will give you grace to live your life out perfectly and then you can make it to heaven with me and somehow this lie once saved always saved has made it into God's church and people are cheating on their spouse they abandon their families they lie they cheat they steal and they think it's okay because they said some little prayer back when they were 7 years old walk out your salvation with fear and trembling and understand what Jesus said and so my heavenly father will do to you also if you do not forgive your brother from your heart man she's smoking isn't she she even says the line that I say because you prayed some prayer you think you're good to go like oh yeah that's that's how the universe works yes I will be glad to link these for you guys um in 40u let's go we got two more and they just they keep getting better y'all i did a lot of digging uh for these ones and let me tell you there's not a ton of Christian NDEs on YouTube but you can find them if you search and I could probably have dug up around 15 if I kept digging but I got these six that I felt like tie the bow on this whole presentation and these last two we're going to look at some more positive ones now because everybody so far here went to hell first had a hellish experience and we're going to look at these last two who um didn't have a hellish experience but still learned the same lessons that were described before now this is another this is a Baptist preachers's wife whoops and uh lifelong Baptist preachers wife this is what she said about her experience of dying body and seeing the earth fading beneath me i was just I think I was in such a deep sorrow that I didn't even notice that I had crossed over so as I'm sitting there in the darkness I start trying to accept what has happened to me and that I have died and I'm still thinking about my husband and children as I'm waiting I'm praying for them lord if they've found my body please comfort them and I'm waiting expectantly i'm waiting for Jesus to arrive i'm waiting for that tunnel of light i'm waiting for my loved ones to show up and greet me looking forward to seeing my grandma and grandpa again and just having that wonderful reunion and as I sat and waited the longer and longer that time passed the more concerned I started becoming because nothing was happening and no one was coming for me and so that happy expectation started turning to anxiety and concern as I waited and I didn't understand why I wasn't immediately in heaven i started worrying that I was about to go to judgment so I was trying to prepare to you know this is the moment i'm either going to go to heaven or I'm going to go to hell and Jesus be my righteousness i can't get into heaven without you obviously there's something that has separated me from being able to be there and I'm trying to process why I am stuck in this darkness alone and what I have done that could have separated me from having that wonderful homecoming that you hear so many other people speak about who have had near-death experiences and have had a radiant encounter i was fully expecting that heavenly you know acceptance and homecoming but it never came so while I'm sitting there I became very aware of God or what I call the source all around me and it felt eternal it was everything that ever has been is and will be in existence it was almost like the primordial state of it being there where it could come into existence at any time and it encompassed the beginning and the end it was everything that ever has been and what was so soul crushing for me was that I almost felt like I was in an invisible box where I was separated from everything in existence and I was at the time still trying to grapple with being separated from my family from my children and my husband that I would never see them again at this point and I was now separated from everything ever in existence and that's very hard to take i couldn't understand it and so I had not a life review but a deep soulsearching a self-reflection time where I was trying to determine what has separated me why am I so horrible i don't understand and I started looking at my life and how I've treated others and I didn't find myself lacking i found that I had always been kind and loved people to my best ability but whenever I looked at loving myself I saw that I had failed terribly in that regard i failed to love myself enough to think myself even worthy and it had held me back from so many things that I was supposed to be doing in this life and I understood that at that point once that happened immediately I felt a presence come up over my left shoulder and I could not identify him as being human he wasn't necessarily an alien or an angel or a deity i couldn't identify him at all but I could identify that it was definitely a male presence and as he approached me he said to me in my mind "You're not going to be here forever." And instantly it calmed me and it almost felt like he was hesitant like he wasn't supposed to be intervening but he was showing me almost a sterile kindness because he saw the level of my distress and once he did speak to me like I said it was instant calmness because I knew I wasn't alone that someone else was there and if I were to trust him then I'm not going to be here by myself forever which was such a terrifying thought when I was over there stuck in that situation as soon as he did that we started sailing off to the left and as we did I started seeing a faint purple glow off in the distance and as we got closer I could see these pink intersecting lines in between it and where they came together it glowed bright yellow and it just gave off immense love and it resembled really a map of brain neurons is how I would describe it whenever I first returned and first started speaking about it since then I've seen pictures of the cosmic web and it echoes what a map of brain neurons looks like so either one of these would be a good representation of what I saw but as we got closer and closer to it I could just feel that love radiating off and my interpretation of it was that it was this congregation of souls and of all of the goodness from humanity from beginning to end was just there within that nebula and he told me that's the fabric of humanity and when he did I just sat there because I felt like something so amazing had been revealed to me one of the mysteries that most people don't ever get to see for some reason he took me by that and let me see that and revealed that to me and I wanted so much to go to it but he kind of indicated "No it's not for you." And I didn't even have time to process that before we were sailing off again to the left and as we did instantly I was inserted back in my body wow so what I love about that NDE is that again religious Christian preachers's wife and she's taught to believe that humanity is evil totally depraved and yet God let her see God's like "Hey you know that belief you have that you talk about in church that we're all sinful and totally depraved let me show you what humanity looks like from my perspective." And he showed her the heavenly view of humanity and she saw it was this beautiful like glittering gold and purple light of perfection and beauty and sublime celestial paradise and all this she's like "Wow I didn't know humanity was so good and beautiful." Like that was one of the things that God wanted to make sure she left that experience with but maybe the most profound was realizing she went to this realm of darkness because she didn't love herself and so isn't that cool how her belief and she's she voiced it as I didn't feel worthy of God's love well of course you didn't because you were taught not to feel worthy every day of your life but that belief had to be honored and not violated and so she wasn't allowed to have a heavenly encounter with love like she wanted and like she expected because deep down she was carrying a belief I am not worthy of God's love and so God just sort of left her to her own devices and she's like why why am I in this darkness i'm so scared am I going to hell am I not going to heaven like come on God and she starts to cry out to God and then she starts to get little downloads of her life and looking back at her life and going you know I was really kind to other people but very unkind to myself i really didn't love myself and I treated myself very badly and then she has the realization oh that's why I'm in this dark realm because it's a manifestation of my feeling unworthy of love isn't that just so cool how God has these infinitely intelligent ways and very subtle non-interfering ways of helping us come to all the right realizations and conclusions now this is the last one and I saved the best one for last i actually just found this one this morning my friend James sent this to me i think this one is um the most profound in terms of like blissful heavenly type NDE um this is about 6 minutes long so presence leave that was replaced with this overwhelming presence of God god was with me and all around me and it was the stars everywhere i was in the galaxy it was the most incredible feeling and at the same time I'm like "Wow I'm home." I knew I was home that was home not Earth for the first time I had that realization it was so incredible to be with God in that presence and I remember having these like just so many feelings and thoughts coming flooding through my mind almost like a rolodex and God was as soon as I would think it God would answer it and God would fill me with more love and so there's this big teaching moment that's happening and then I remember God telling me to look in front of me and I'm looking in front of myself and I'm admiring all the incredible stars and I'm seeing something i'm like "Wow that's interesting the stars are doing something." And they're lining up and they made a huge huge curtain and I saw the stars part and three two one countdown a life review of Erica McKenzie and then the first picture on this movie screen was me in the hospital my mom was holding me she had just given birth to me we start at that moment of the day I was born and we proceed to live all of these moments in my life one of the first memories was I was losing my first tooth in first grade and then I remember uh like in third grade winning the spelling bee and then graduating from high school getting married becoming a mother and I remember as we were reviewing them I'm getting filled with all of this love and admiration from God and teaching moments that were all positive i'm relishing in that i'm basking in that i I just am starting to feel like though this human rational side of me which was wait wait wait wait i was raised in a Christian home where we were taught that you would be judged you were a sinner so then I started panicking and I'm thinking okay God is not judging me why am I not being judged well remember God and I was like telepathy telepathically so I'm having these thoughts and God's reading my thoughts and he replaces it with love god loved me god did not judge me judgment is the opposite of love that is what God was trying to start to make me understand we have no right to judge anybody else and we have no right to judge ourselves if you judge yourself you can't love yourself i had it all wrong when I was on Earth i wasted so much time judging myself and look what I did to myself the toxic behaviors that I did that led to my death this time I saw everything that wasn't in the first life review and God explained to me that these are the things that you're going to be seeing that are important to him one of the first memories I was in Brownies when I was a little girl and we were at the rest home i had wandered off from the group they came to find me and I was in one of the residents room and I was sitting on her lap and I was brushing her hair and I was singing Jesus loves me that song that you learn in church um to her and the amount of love that that woman felt back was just so powerful just that little thing that I did so many times we don't pay attention to those things that we're doing that really are making the difference we don't put value to them we don't think they are important and here God was teaching me through this whole lesson that that's all that matters my eyes are being led to look up and I'm looking past the stars and I see appear in front of me bookshelves the biggest bookshelf you've ever known because it's so tall that it's disappeared past you know the farthest point that I could see appeared on all of the shelves were gifts they were all so individually incredibly different and then God started telling me Erica when you were born I gave you the gift of patience and I gave you the gift of beauty i didn't think I was pretty if I was like I told God it's not true why was I treated like that he gently stopped me in my tracks and corrected me and he said again when you were born I gave you the gift of patience and I gave you the gift of beauty and in that moment I understood for the first time what the gift of beauty really means it's not what I was taught to believe what mankind believes this was what God believes is beautiful and it was the beauty came from within my heart my heart and it was such a relief for the first time to really not just hear it but to feel it that I was enough all of a sudden in front of me appears to the earth it's huge and it's close enough that I can feel all of my family and friends i see something that doesn't look natural i remember telling myself gosh what is that you know and no sooner am I thinking oh what is that and studying it I'm able to like laser focus on it better and I I can see that it's flames of fire and they're engulfing the planet so now I have this impending sense of fear almost uncontrollable fear and I'm terrified and I say to God "Oh my god my kids are down there my family my friends you know the animals are with God help look there's there's flames there's fire." I'm seeing these flicks of this almost mercury consistence and they're like shooting off between all the flames all over the earth and I'm watching them and they're coming up and they're going above me and now they're going past me into I wasn't allowed to turn around at the time but I knew they were going into heaven there was hundreds and then thousands god explained to me those were the souls they were lifting off and look at them they were all unscathed from these flames every time it was going past me I had like this flood wash over me of relief i was so relieved that they were saved this is the first time that I ever felt sadness tremendous amount of sadness from God i find myself trying to comfort God saying "No no God look they're okay they're fine it's okay they're all going in heaven they are fine." And he said to me "Look." So I had to look again and what I didn't see the first time I'm now seeing there was these little flickers the souls that weren't lifting off and he was sad for them they were being left behind this sadness from God was so strong it was not like him losing one child it was like him losing so many children all at once that's how profound it was and I said "No no no you you can help them i know you can help them help them." And he said "Erica when you were born I gave you and I gave each of my children the gift of life but with the gift of life hand in hand I gave free will and free will is the choice everybody gets to choose if they want that love connection with God the love connection is the energy what is needed our souls when we are there the fuel is the love connection if we choose the love connection the free will they are lifted off that's the energy they need all of the focus from him his heart at that moment was hurting for the ones that were choosing not to have that connection wow pretty amazing stuff i mean to hear a a Christian woman using so many you know new age kind of terms uh says a lot about the profoundity of the experience but wow I mean talk about an NDE isn't that just a lot of you guys I was putting your comments on the screen and how moving that is and I completely agree I mean that that closing closing picture she draws of seeing earth and seeing sparks flying up to God and that some of them are are sort of flinging up and then not having enough energy to make it and they fall back down into the fire or whatever just like wow what a perfect picture of everything we've learned thus far in the Jesus way philosophy in the very first master class we talked about provation that evil is not a second power it is the absence of good it is the absence of love and so as Jesus says in the gospel of Thomas saying 20 I want to say um he says if you bring forth what is within you what is within you will save you that's love service kindness peace joy bring forth the light that's in you radiate it extend it to others live it embody it and that light in you will save you but then Jesus says but if you do not bring forth what is within you what you do not bring forth will destroy you interesting yeah it's almost like he's describing a black hole it's like in the absence of bringing forth God's love to everyone it there's like a vacuum created of of aloneeness and emptiness and fear and separation and that void of separateness and lack and victimhood and anger and judgment and resentment it's like it just corrupts you from the inside out and it's what you don't bring forth that's destroying you it isn't a second power called evil that snuck into your thole and started corrupting you it's like the rottness of an apple you can't separate the rottness from the apple and say "Look I've got the apple here and its rottness over here i've separated them successfully." It's like "Good luck let me know how long that takes you." There is no separating rottness from the thing that's rotting because it's an intrinsic property of the thing it is a pervasion is it is an absence it is a deteriorating and so here's what she describes of the souls who didn't have the love connection she said to have enough available energy to make it to God in their NDE that statement caused me to rethink all the NDEs I've ever studied and can remember because there are some NDEs where people will kind of have a an experience of the light they'll see the light they'll feel the love of God like "Oh yeah that's so great." And then it'll kind of close off and they'll drift into like a negative scary experience and you're like "Wow maybe that's the the sparks that couldn't make it up right they just didn't have enough love connection energy available to make it all the way there and so instead the lack of that love destroyed them brought them to hell brought them to that negative experience so again it's the law of free will it's no one's doing this to to you but you your own ignorance your own blindness to universal law is your own downfall there is no punishing God and I think that's just the best possible news that our heavenly father is love as Yeshua taught and if we want to keep the love of the heavenly father and divine mother for ourselves and enjoy it for ourselves the solution is easy salvation is easy give it away as much as you want to keep it be just as interested in offering the freedom to others that you want for yourself be just as quick to forgive as you are quick to want forgiveness when you mess up give and you shall receive that's the gospel and it is the best news it is the most just possible system that our intelligent creator could have ever invented we live in a free will universe and when we know that we realize okay cool all the onus is on me to follow the laws of the universe and Jesus's teachings god's already established a perfect universe with perfect laws i'm just learning what they are and how to live and embody and stay aligned with those laws in a deeper and deeper way every day i'm going deeper into my embodiment of divine truth and that's what saves me it's not outsourcing it's not confessing it's not believing it is my own alignment with truth and so all we have to do is seek the truth with all our heart question everything until only that which can't be questioned any longer remains that is an honest process toward truth and an honest sotiology now I did see one question I wanted to throw up before we leave from Patricia where did it go um I'm not seeing it uh is this the one yes ah okay that's right so she said "So is repenting the key?" And so I wanted to just say to this Patricia what's the key like repentance isn't a a process or a formula that we can apply to get results of like "Oops I just committed a huge sin let me go through the repentance process god I'm so sorry please forgive me i turn away from this." So we don't want to be we want to be careful not to turn it into a formula true repentance is a disposition yes it is an attitude that we develop which we might call humility now humility as we say in our 40U curriculum humility is the greatest spiritual asset for evolution for polarization meaning if you really focus on remaining as humble as possible you will grow as fast as possible because it is the pride and arrogance of ego that retards and slows down our spiritual growth pride is the ultimate killer of spiritual growth and progress so repentance is really humility it's acknowledging my my own mistakes it's acknowledging my own my own propensity to make mistakes my own human weakness and fragility and all of that it is the attitude that Jesus demonstrated in the parable of the publican where the the publican goes up to the temple and and doesn't even look at the temple just says "God forgive me Lord i'm a I've sinned i'm a sinner and Jesus says that man goes up justified before God why because he told the truth he's like "God I've been sinning a lot." That's all God wants thief on the cross same same situation lord remember me when you come into your kingdom all he did was acknowledge I deserve this punishment because I really did steal i really was a criminal but this man is innocent he told the truth and Jesus said "You'll be with me in heaven." So it's like telling the truth is real humility and so when you violate the law whether on purpose you know you're in a fit of rage and you I don't care about the law I'm going to hurt this person and then later you think better of it or whether you just accidentally made a mistake right you accidentally a hurtful thing slipped out of your mouth it doesn't make any difference to God god just wants you to tell the truth about it and only a humble heart can tell the truth and that is what's at the real heart of the Catholic Christian faith forgive me Lord for I have sinned it's like there's a kernel of truth there there's a kernel of truth in the idea of hell and heaven there's a kernel of truth in believing in Jesus there's a kernel of truth in faith alone there is kernels of truth in these religious beliefs when we stretch them to these absurd dogmatic conclusions we lose that truth and so that's what has happened over thousands of years of distortion and dogmatic you know corruption of Jesus's teachings is that everything he clearly taught which we clearly saw today is unquestionable and inarguable right forgive or you can't be forgiven repent or you can't enter the kingdom when you didn't love the least of these you didn't love me Jesus we do not struggle with sotiology today in Christianity Because Jesus was ambiguous yeah we don't struggle with it because Jesus wasn't clear enough we struggle because we don't think his teachings his message were the most important part of him christianity elevated the messenger above the message and anytime that happens in in all of world history when the messenger is placed above the message the message is lost and that's all that happened to Jesus but thank goodness we still have Jesus's teachings i'm grateful for it i know you are as well and thanks to these people who share their experiences we can know with absolute certainty the thousands and tens of thousands and hundreds of thousands of recorded and verified death experiences all attest to these things and I think that's huge for two reasons because when I bring up NDEs to Christian friends and say "Hey have you ever noticed that like literally everybody who has a death experience comes back saying all the same things that refute what you say you believe such as salvation by faith alone." Sorry man if you study NDEs you're going to learn real quick salvation is absolutely not earned by faith alone but actually faith alone gets you into a lot of trouble in the afterlife because holding beliefs in your brain is valueless to God god cares how you live what you believe and the only way to prove that you do love God and believe in God is to love God's children so what good are all these beliefs if I'm harming God's children i'm betraying my own beliefs every single day and that's all that matters in eternity and they say "Well we can't you know we can't just put all our beliefs and stalk in what people's subjective experiences say." They say "Oh I'm not asking you to trust any one person's subjective experience." I'm saying "Look at the wealth of data we have hundreds and hundreds of thousands of verified near-death experiences and when these researchers compile the data they say like 90% of people come back with this message all that matters in life is how we treat others how we love people and the life review and all the other aspects are hit or miss you know 50% of NDEs have a life review or whatever it is but the core theme is identical and so it's the combination of the core theme being salvation by works basically right salvation is by loving people and how you treat others that every NDE verifies this in some way it's the combination of that plus the utter absence of the contrary pretty heavy to think about actually right it's not just that all these people are dying and saying "Hey guys it's all about how you love people." But then also there's like about 50% of them are dying and coming back and saying "Hey guys it's all about confessing Jesus." If we had that situation right that like half of people who die say it's about loving people and the other half say "No no just about believing in Jesus then we'd be in a difficult spot right like how do we explain this how how do we metaphysically justify this what's going on here my friends we have no such problem there are no near-death experiences on record not even one not that I found maybe there's some Christian out there who made up an NDE that I haven't heard about but every verified NDE that I've ever heard from a Christian always are the ones we see today i was wrong it's not about what you believe it's about loving others and I don't know why that hasn't sobered the Christian community to the degree you would think it should right because Christians love NDEs especially NDEs where Jesus shows up look see Jesus is real like yeah yeah no we all believe Jesus is real what did Jesus say is what we're questioning did he really say "Confess me as Lord believe in my death and resurrection." Is that salvation was that the sotiology of Jesus because if it wasn't we definitely shouldn't be teaching it to millions of people every Sunday what is true really matters and if it's really not true that we're saved by confessing and believing then it is wrong and karmically there are karmic consequences to teaching people that because it isn't true and look where it leads some people in their death experiences it leads them straight to hell and confusion and bewilderment so like everyone I trusted in my life everybody who loved me and who I loved told me all I had to do to avoid this exact experience of going to hell is believe these things and look where I am there is no greater testament my friends to the gospel of Jesus than that than the true teachings the Jesus way is true hallelujah praise the Lord amen the Jesus way is true and I think that's the best possible news that all our heavenly father divine mother god wants from us to be saved from sin and suffering is to extend the same love that we've been freely given to others and my friends extending love to others is the most fulfilling satisfying gladdening thing you can ever do it is the greatest prize to experience in this life is a life truly lived in love and service to everyone that everyone I meet I meet my beloved and there's a new chance to love my God with all my heart by loving my neighbor as myself that becomes our greatest joy when we learn to follow the Jesus way so thank you for sticking with me through what 4 hours and 15 minutes oh my goodness am I getting that right 3 hours and 15 minutes thank you guys so much for hanging out with me and I hope this truly blesses you and really what I wanted y'all was I wanted this presentation to be a powerful unwiring of religious conditioning and propaganda because I know how deep these threads go having been a pastor's son myself and all of this it can it can take a lifetime to unravel these beliefs we hold of an angry god and I'm sinful and all this and it's like no let's just go right to the root and cut it at the root there is no justification for this at all it is utterly illogical it is metaphysically unjustifiable and it is ontologically facious in every way and the direct experiences of people who die utterly refute it we can put these beliefs about what salvation is to rest forever and instead spread the good news god just wants your heart and if God has your heart God has everything God wants but how do you show God that God has your heart you love people and you extend the same love you've been freely given i hope you're blessed by that message and I hope you have a wonderful rest of your Saturday or whatever day you're watching this and uh we'll see you all tomorrow on our 40U call at 11 am same time same place all right much love you guys have a great Saturday
