Throughout history, God raised up individuals. He raised up a few people in a generation to see his kingdom come. Now we've seen many comings of Jesus. We've seen many outpourings of the Spirit. You know, if I could say there's a coming of the day of the Lord, but then there's been many comings of the Lord throughout history, and we would call those outpourings or revivals, so to speak.
We know that God raised up The George Whitfields, the John Wesley, the Charles Wesley, he raised up Charles Grandison Finney, he raised up those in the Great Awakening, and we would call these ones revivalists, the revivals of old that we study from, and some of those revivals that we learn from. For example, Brother Evans, you know, within the Welsh revival. What a great impact he made. You know, Evan Roberts, I should say, you know, and, you know, he made an impact in a geography which touched the world, which impacted William Seymour.
And we know that the Azusa Street Revival came to pass. But as we look at these revivals, you know what, we know that the Lord has given us a spirit of revival because his name is Holy Spirit. But in order for us to carry the fire of revival, to carry the spirit of revival.
And before there's a corporate revival, there's always a personal revival. And we can live in a place of revival. And I love what my spiritual father Cheyenne says. There's the capital R revival where there's no doubt where society has been impacted. But then there's small R revival where we experience God in more of a ways of, more through the ways of refreshing.
You know, where God comes and touches us. But we need to constantly live in a place of revival with Jesus. You know, we need to be in that secret place, that place of intimacy.
That we need to be in a place of connection where we keep our hearts stirred. Where we keep our hearts warm and on fire, you know, for Jesus. And some of the ways we do that is this. It's through our personal prayer life.
Jesus often slipped away to be with the Father. In the midst of all the activity, in the midst of great demand on his life, in fact, there was great demand, three and a half years of his life, the greatest time of demand, we see the gospel saying that Jesus slipped away to the wilderness. He slipped away to a solitary place. He slipped away and he removed himself from the crowds. And so us being alone with Jesus is critical to living in revival.
It's being in the word. Are we in the Word? You know, the very living Word.
Many of us, we want prophetic words, but how many of you know the greatest prophetic word that God's given to us is the very Word of God itself? Where God's, He breathed to us the very words of, you know, from His mouth by His Spirit. And so as we ground ourselves in the Word, you know, as we continue to eat, you know, eat the words of God.
We commune with the Spirit. We have relationship with Him through prayer. You know, we see that the Spirit and the Word comes together. It's personal revival.
It's continuing to fan the flame within us that God's already given to us. He caused a flame to come about in our life, but it's our responsibility to keep the flame going. It's our responsibility to keep the fire going.
And another way to go and experience revival is this. When there's hot spots around the world, when revival breaks out, go to those places. Humble yourself and ask for prayer.
Ask for impartation. You know, and that's one of the things that I've tried to do is go to these places where God is breaking out. You know, where the fire of God, the power of God is being demonstrated.
I go to these places and I go and I ask those leaders, hey, would you pray for me? Would you lay hands on me? You know, and I received.
And so. Revival is stoked through humility. Revival is stoked through teachability.
Revival is stoked through receptivity. And so we position ourselves before the Lord in this way. And we ask the Lord to continue to increase upon our lives who He is. It's personal revival.
And when we live in a place of personal revival, Then as a byproduct, there's corporate revival. Because how many of you know that fire is contagious? Revival is contagious.
I remember years ago when God gave me a literal dream. And in the dream, I was... In a forest, and there was a spark in the forest, and all of a sudden just one tree caught on fire.
And it was a small tree. But then based upon that small spark upon a small tree, the entire forest caught on fire. And then a dream, it panned out and it zoomed out.
And all of a sudden, there was a forest fire that hit the nations of the earth. And the fire is contagious. And so by that...
We become contagious to those around us. We share and just by how we live, people will catch this. And we know this phrase, it's better caught than taught.
And so revival is something that's caught. And so as you come from this place of intimacy with God, by His Spirit, by His Word, by your prayer life, humility, people will catch this. You literally become contagious to those around you because you become this fire, this torch in God's hand that he uses to light others on fire, communities, cities, and nations.
And so we need to live in constant revival because the small R revival will eventually become a capital R revival that we've been praying about. Where the nations of the earth will come into... Flames of fire by the wind of the Holy Spirit.
And so get ready because I believe that we are in that season. Now is the time because the word says, lift up your eyes and see that the fields are ripe for harvest. It's always time and it's always ripe for harvest because in the kingdom, we harvest 12 months out of the year.
And so continue to seek after God. And I pray that just, just, I pray that there's a hunger. That captivation captures you.
That never leaves. Because it's those who are hungry. The Bible says in Matthew 5, it's blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled. And so ask God to cause you to become hungry.
Ask God to cause you to become thirsty. Because He's going to fill you in a fresh way. And so even now, I just pray for a download and that the fire of God would fall upon you. fresh way right now that you'd be caught within the very presence of God, that there would be a spirit of burning on you as you go forth to reach people and share the love of God with them.
