Incremental Improvement Principles

There was a time when I first started my career I sat down at the end of the year and my tax return was $14,400. 12 years later I sat down and calculated my taxes and my taxes were $1,440,000. I had increased my income 0,000 times in 12 years and I went back and started thinking about it and I realized that I had used a formula which is the law of incremental improvement in what I call the thousand percent formula and it's very simple it's based on the law of incremental improvement the Japanese call it the kaizen principle the principle of continuous improvement is to do it little by little more every day so ask yourself the question if you could increase your productivity performance by 0.1 percent a day you could increase your productivity performance by one thousandth in a day and the answer is absolutely if you were just a little bit more efficient or worked a little bit harder in a day it 's important you could become 0.1 percent better in a day well if you did that every day for a week you would become 0.1 percent x 5 you would be half a percent more productive in a week is it possible for sure you would say anyone can improve their productivity so little and I say if you did that every week for four weeks you would be two percent more productive after a month if you did that every day for 52 weeks a year you would be 26 percent more productive is it possible and the answer is yes because there is something called the principle of inertia which means that once you start something it becomes easier to continue and we do it faster and faster so when you become 26 percent more productive at the end of a year your income your results your earnings will increase by 26 percent what happens is you start to pick up the pace you become more efficient and get more things done you start early you work hard and that's until later you improve your priorities and so on so if you improve 27 percent a year for ten years you will be 1004 percent better that's what happened to me and it's happened to every person I've ever worked with not long ago I was in Seattle and a young man he came to me he is around 30 years old i met him when he was 22 he was working at a used car dealership in a small town near porta lan and his name is crisis he came to me and said mister trace do you remember me i said yes he is a nice guy with a good personality he said well you know that 1000% formula that you taught me many years ago i said of course i remember i taught it to many people he said brian it does n't work i said it doesn't work he said no i replied i have been using it every day since i learned it so many years ago what do you mean how does it not work he smiled and said no it takes 10 years 17 today i am earning 10 times what i earned 7 years i used the formula every day amazing and today i earned in a week or a month what i normally earned in a year thanks to this formula and what i did personally was use it once increasing my income by 10 times and then use it again increasing it another 10 times 100 times more in 12 years and you can do it too so this consists In something simple every morning, get up at least two hours before your first appointment so that you can invest your first hour, which I call the golden hour, in yourself. You invest the golden hour in reading something educational, motivational or spiritual. They say that reading is for the mind what exercise is for the body. Instead of reading the newspaper or magazine or watching television, what you will do is read something inspiring. If you are a salesperson, read something about sales. If you are spiritually oriented, read something spiritual. If you want to read something motivational, but call for an hour every morning. This will prepare your mind for the rest of the day. One of the great speakers said that the first hour is the rudder of the day. It is called the golden hour. So, consider the golden hour in yourself. Just like when you get up, train in the morning for an hour and feel good physically all day. If you get up and read for an hour, you will feel great mentally all day. Step two in the formula: Make a list of everything you have to do that day. Sit down and make a list of everything you have to do. Plan your day in advance. Step three: Organize your list by priority. Determine the first most important thing the second most important thing the third most important thing and so on number each of the tasks task number 1 number 2 number 3 number four five the fourth step is to start with your most important task you need to work on this task with complete focus heart and discipline until the task is completed and only then go to task number 2 doing the same thing step 5 listen to audio program in your car make your car a mobile classroom make it a university on wheels a study at the university of california concluded that if you listen to educational audios in your car while driving instead of listening to music what we call chewing gum for your ears if you listen to audio programs you will have almost the equivalent of being present at a university full time except for one small fact when you go to university people who have graduated from university as well as I have discovered that about ninety five percent of what they teach is not practical and theoretical it is true it is useful but it is useless in the real world however when you choose educational audios about sales communication activity management goal setting for yourself these audios that you can stop and start over if you want you choose the pen what has value to you at that moment you have something better than a college education turning your car into a classroom on wheels you turn your car into a mobile learning machine here is an interesting point going back to the beginning if you get up and read for 60 minutes every day you read on average one book a week one book a week is on average 50 books a year now to get a phd from a major university in any course including astrophysics you have to read 30 to 50 books and combine them into a dissertation if you read 30 to 50 books in your field during a year you will have the equivalent of a doctorate whether in sales business entrepreneurship or any other field you will have for reading the material that is practical the equivalent of a dissertation which will become part of your life you can double and triple your income simply by reading for an hour every day and I have taught this to thousands of people who have come back to me it is absolutely a law maker on the difference it has made in their lives to start the day reading about their field of expertise the second thing here If you plan ahead for each of your days I can promise you this The act of planning itself and setting priorities will increase your productivity by 25 percent on the first day If you define and focus on your most important task You will increase your productivity by an additional 50 percent Just by reading Setting priorities and focusing on your most important task Your performance and productivity will increase by over 100 percent in one year If you will listen to audio programming in your car Many people have told me that this alone has increased their schedule by 100,000 percent in 10 years Now what's the next step Number 6 Ask yourself two questions after every call and event These two are what they call the magic questions and they will change your life Question number one Ask yourself up front What is close in this situation Whether it's a sales call Whether it's a business meeting Whether it's a job interview Whether it's a negotiation Whether it's a banking transaction Ask yourself right after What did I do right And immediately think even better Write down everything you did right in that meeting Because you did a lot of good Even if you weren't successful You did a lot of good Question number two What would I do? different next time ask yourself this and quickly write down a list of all the things you could do to improve the situation next time now this is important a lot of people have this idea that you should sit down and say what did I do wrong where did I make a mistake where did I drop the ball don't do that what happens if you ask yourself these questions is your subconscious will remember these negative reviews as instructions and the next time you are in the same situation you will make the same mistakes however if you ask yourself what did I do right and what would I do differently your subconscious will remember these instructions on how to behave next time in a similar situation and you will naturally generate better in that situation now the seventh part of the 1000% formula is to treat every person you meet like a million dollar customer treat everyone you work with like the most important person in the world track your customers as if they would buy a million dollars worth of your products if they like you and if you treat them well and especially treat your family members your children your wife your friends as very important people and the best part of all this is that the more you do it the more you will be able to do it the better ... The more you treat other people as if they were important, the better you feel about yourself. You will feel more positive and of course they will be fine. They will feel good and will want to work with you and be close to you. This 1000% formula has been the key to success for a long time. You don't make quantum leaps. You don't go from zero to wealth if you don't earn easy money, fast money. What you do is work on yourself little by little, day after day, week after week, month after month. And your results are virtually guaranteed. I hope you enjoyed the video, guys. A final message.
