symbol of this coastal elite, all of these things that, you know, Elon Musk now rages against. And, you know, even it's hard to overstate how quickly this happened. I mean, you know, it wasn't until two years ago that Elon started really embracing Trump.
And during that time, it has just completely shifted what this brand means to consumers. And, you know, it's left these people who were big fans of EVs suddenly, you know, walking around with this rolling wheel. MAGA sign in their Teslas.
So it's really changed how people think about the brand. So are people selling now? Like people who thought, okay, he's green, he's a disruptor, he's liberal, right? He was kind of aligned with Biden, right? And Democrats?
Yeah. And then are they now like... He loves to talk about how he waited in line for hours to shake Obama's hand.
Right. Yeah. So like, have they now, like, are people selling or buying?
based on all of this? We found people on both sides of this. So we found people who were really liberal, voted for Harris, loved EVs for a long time. And now they're like, I can't drive this Tesla anymore.
This is a sign of the Republicans and all of this that I don't believe in. And then on the flip side, you have people like this man I talked to in Utah, who for years was like... I don't want to have an EV. This is Chaz Tucker.
Chaz Tucker. He said, I don't want to, it stands for this environmentalist stuff. It stands for all of these values that I don't believe in. Then suddenly Elon embraces Trump.
laughing so much because he's like i don't you know i don't care about the environment but now that elon is full maga yeah i'm gonna buy one of these things that's just hilarious it is i mean people do really wild things based on their beliefs in these ways and they put their money where their mouth is and he definitely did he bought a tesla he put all of his retirement money into tesla stock when when does you How'd you find this guy? That was interesting. Yeah, I saw that.
And he said basically he and his wife want to support a leader who stands up for what he believes in like this. I was just thinking, Carol, you know, soon we're going to start seeing liberals rolling coal in there, you know, jacked up four by fours with the smokestacks. Because? Put them on the Prius.
Why? No, I don't know. I don't know.
It's like the world is upside down. The world is upside down. Okay, then you have other folks, though.
But I do wonder, I don't know. It's Elon and Tesla. It's like, I don't know, the extremes of anything he's associated with. Don Scott. He's the example of the other side of the coin.
What happened with Don Scott? Don Scott is seeing Elon suddenly take this rightward shift. I mean, he's not only a Trump supporter.
He's in Trump's administration. He's sort of like Trump's right-hand man now. And he is saying, I don't want to be associated with this.
And to be clear, it's not that people don't like the cars. People, by and large, say they're good cars. But it's all about... what it associates them with.
Suddenly they're, you know, driving their car, which most people that don't live in New York City do all the time. And people look at them and think, oh, maybe he's a Trump supporter.
