Overview
This lecture covers the process for signing into the GVSU Blackboard LMS, including multi-factor authentication (MFA) setup, troubleshooting tips, and privacy information.
Signing In to Blackboard
- Use your GVSU Network ID and password to sign into the LMS.
- Non-GVSU users can use alternative login options if provided.
- Third-party sign-in options include geniussso - saml and Okta accounts.
Multi-Factor Authentication Setup
- MFA is required for all faculty, staff, and students.
- Download an authenticator app such as Microsoft Authenticator, Google Authenticator, or Authy on your phone.
- Open the app and scan the provided QR code or manually copy the key.
- Enter the 6-digit code generated by your authenticator app to associate it with your account.
- MFA will prompt for a code during every login or when using an unfamiliar device.
Troubleshooting and Support
- If you have trouble signing in, use the Self-Service Password Reset tool.
- For further help, contact the IT Service Desk at (616)331-2101 during normal hours.
