¡Hola! I'm Rocío Spanish teacher from EO Español Online and today I'm bringing you a very important lesson Spanish pronunciation Spanish pronunciation is very easy Why? Because we have rules After this lesson you will be able to read absolutely all Spanish words There we go! The rule is C + E, C + I is pronounced is similar to the verb "to think" in English The pronunciation is common in most of Spain except the south and the Canary Islands and in Latin America where they pronounce Which one is correct? Both C + A, C + O, C + U G rule is G + E, G + I G + A, G + O, G + U If we want to have the sound with E and with I we need a silent U between G and E or G and I What if we want that U to sound? We are going to write two dots which are called diéresis So, we are now going to read that U The H never sounds! The combination C+H is similar to other languages The double L is pronounced like Y The Ñ sound is similar to N + Y in English in the word "canyon" Q is always accompanied by U And that U is silent The only possible combinations are Q + U + E, Q + U + I There are two sounds. Strong R and R Soft R Strong R. When there are two R between vowels, when R is at the beginning of a word, and behind L, N and S And is Soft R when it goes between two vowels, when it's at the end of the word and after B, C, D, F, G, P and T Very IMPORTANT! The / v / sound does not exist in Spanish We pronounce V as we pronounce B The same as with we pronounce in most of Spain in the south, in the Canary Islands and in Latin America they pronounce I hope you liked it and it has been very, very useful Do not forget to comment I want to remind you you can download an infographic with all the information in this lesson so you can practice at home Here it is!
