what is delivery now you probably clicked on the video thinking what do you mean what is w/e what a stupid question you might be thinking well ee is pro-wrestling and if you're thinking that right there you're wrong don't it really operate as sports entertainment that's the tagline that's the phrase that Vince McMahon has used to describe his company his product for the better part of the last four decades all right Vince McMahon runs sports entertainment and even though what they give us on a week-to-week basis it's not sports and it's certainly not entertainment I mean let's for starters look at the sports side of things so let's dissect the phrase sports entertainment let's start with sports w/e actively deviate away from a sports oriented product alright by sports don't let's define sports by sports or I interpret wins and losses actually mattering a sense of importance surrounding H match H storyline and championships feeling special important prestigious that's the kind of thing I think when I think sports additionally once again wins and losses mattering like an AW with the the records and the rankings that's make me feel like a sport that's where wins and losses matter but then there's we3 wins and losses mean absolutely jack old diddly squat nothing wins losses mean absolutely zero individually I've got examples don't you worry for example let's look at this I'll get its money all the way first Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins at WrestleMania they had a match Kevin Owens beat Seth Rollins but instead of Kevin Owens getting a title shot Seth Rollins who lost got a title match literally the very next feud like within a week Seth Rollins was num1 intent of the championship okay sure so then the next time we see Kevin Owens he's in a match with Angel Gaza and Kevin Owens loses in four minutes right interesting so that's one example or will we look at braun strowman this is a great one we look at braun strowman the guy loses a three-on-one handicap match to the loser trifecta of Zane Cesaro and Nakamura who collectively had won about two matches in the past four months prior to the Elimination Chamber strowman has a 3-1 handicap against the IC title strowman loses at the Elimination Chamber he's not seen on TV for three weeks next thing you know Michael Cole says strohman and I'm mocking tenets of the universal championship strowman then the very next day beats Goldberg to win the universal championship so yeah this is this is another example now there are many of those examples I can go on and on with how wins and losses don't matter so that's one thing then there's the fact that there's no importance surrounding H match there just simply isn't no one bats an eyelid at war or Smackdown results because in the day they mean nothing they seriously do all right raw matches mean diddly-squat nothing let's look for example last night what happened it was Nicky cross verse one of the iconic I don't even care which one Nicky cross verse an iconic do you even remember what do you remember who won that match the day after war do you even remember did it mean anything what does Nicky cross get if she went what does Peyton Royce a billy k get if they win and usually the w/e that they like to say if you win a match you get quote unquote momentum but that's hypocritical because usually momentum implies wins are being recorded and you can get a momentum and a run of wins but wins and losses mean nothing so what does what is momentum it's this fictional thing that W do a grasp onto to try and justify meaningless matches in this sports entertainment thing they have going on I don't get it it seriously makes no sense alright lastly for sports there's Championships all right championships could not feel less important if you tried seriously I'll use braun strowman again once again what did one snowman do to earn a universal championship match in this situation now I'm sure someone will say oh the Roman reigns have to miss WrestleMania me what do you want them to do me to do okay let's use our brains for a second okay so Roman reigns misses WrestleMania braun strowman loses the icy title to a bunch of job as three weeks before and isn't on TV I don't know how about you do something that actually makes a little bit of sense like having maybe Bray Wyatt and seen this firefly funhouse match become a number one contender's match for the universal championship maybe or you could do something like Matt riddle against Goldberg because that actually makes sense and even though that one doesn't make too much sense as far as wins and losses Elise is not braun strowman losing to jobbers and then having the title match three weeks later now this is a complete side rant but you get my point alright bronze strowman did absolutely squat all nothing to get the title match he wins the title and it just makes the title feel just meaningless and then move the US title while I was on Drogheda allowed to keep the thing even though he had a wellness policy violation and then literally three weeks later he got himself injured and Miss WrestleMania and he was apt like a month and he's allowed to keep the title it just shows had titles mean nothing and then what about the tag titles cover what about them tag belts could mean anything they're coming anything less that's why the revival left because the tag belts and the tag team division were meaningless all right so that's the sports side of things that's the sports component I've completely disproved and shown you in the past five minutes ywe couldn't be further from being classified as sports let's look at the other word entertainment yeah now entertainment it's it's much more subjective okay entertainment some people genuinely believe that the raw shows we watch for example last night was a really good show top to bottom some people I've seen say it's a really good rule and most those people program themselves to say that out of fear of pissing anyone off not many of those people genuinely believe that what w is putting on is pretty good and if they do that's more delusion thing that's a fanboy thing I don't even respect your opinion if you seriously tell me that what we're watching is really good TV because if what we're watching like for example last night as a whole three our product was really good then you you you come up with an adjective to describe the Attitude Era and the world shows we got there come up with an adjective to describe that because if what we got last night was really good quote unquote what was the show's 22 years ago what were they so that is basically the subjection kind of things subjection subjectiveness of the shows but yet on the whole by and large wo do it you for example last night produce a couple of things that are actually genuinely entertaining I look at Alice's black Seth Rollins genuinely entertaining I look at Rey Mysterio and Dominic's like sit down kind of on interview with the satellite interview talking about Rollins that was entertaining I look at Randy Orton cutting the promo about edge genuinely entertaining then I see the rest of the show and by and large what delivery offer up is not entertaining that they're not entertaining people I don't get what part of what they're doing is entertaining to people seriously I don't even know what demographic wo you're trying to target well what is double degrees target audience kids families I mean if you're gonna do that go all the way with it they like dip their toes in the water trying to app it I guess they're trying to well think they're not even trying to appease the fans if that's if they've done you're trying to please the fans I'll and rant on them nearly as much as they do but they don't try to appease anybody they're trying to appease Vince and Vince's somehow correlating to trying to appease a bunch of families or something there's no correlation there it just doesn't make sense so I mean you see what they're doing do they do these like around shows they try and dabble it pleasing everybody but it just doesn't work like the main thing that makes pro wrestling pro wrestling or a sports entertainment sports entertainment and be entertaining is consistent logical storylines between two characters they have a genuine issue and we hardly ever see land under Bowie because there's no current continuity no consistency they don't build up characters and when they do they do a logical stuff like edge versus Randy Orton in the greatest wrestling match ever all right plus allege of us Randy on two characters who have an issue so be sure to make them to a singles match two months after they had a Last Man Standing war a feud so the WrestleMania make them do a singles match two months later at backlash give it thus to give the tagline greatest wrestling match ever that makes no one care and then shut that down our throats a point movi won't change the channel when we hear it brilliant brilliant brilliant entertainment w/e seriously very entertaining having gone whoever even the raw commentators Tom Phillips Byron Saxon Samoa Joe tell me to their blue in the face there's the greatest wrestling match ever how's that entertaining how when these are just some of so many examples let's look at something like something else happened last night the street prophets and the Viking raiders last night on Raw they had their fourth consecutive themed challenge I'll call them this it was bowling last night but the divisibility as I mentioned the review last night I ranted on they make the challenges so campy so stupid that what are they even targeting seriously I are they targeting kids with these really a kids genuinely entertained by this is this what kids like seriously having Angela Dawkins throw an axe like a hundred feet above the target is that really entertaining people is having the street prophets bowling like 17 consecutive gutter balls entertaining anyone is it I I just don't know I just don't know then there's something like the Nige axe promos who are they for what is she entertaining anyone is anyone genuinely entertained by know Jax that's the case of so many acts don't go Dewey make it so that nothing people do on screen like a lot of the things you see on screen just isn't entertaining it's just there so that's the entertainment part of this video disproves so right there I've completely disproved this whole sports entertainment thing and after doing that I ask what is Doug LaBelle what is it like it's not pro wrestling I've clearly disproven why something sports entertainment then what is it is it a kids show is it is it a family show is it it's just this thing it's like it encompasses it monopolizes the wrestling world but it's not even really a wrestling show because Vince makes it a point to make sure it's entertainment non-entertainment you see what I'm saying like I don't know what W is like if someone who devotes too much time to watching the product and talking about it I just don't know what it is and this video it's your gains and traction the titles pretty kind of clickbait do you like what is
