Welcome to moving math and science. In this video I would like to talk about two types of data. Discrete and continuous data.
How is discrete data different than continuous data? In simple terms discrete data is counted and continuous data is measured. Discrete data cannot be divided. It is distinct and can only occur in certain values.
Continuous data can be divided infinitely. Let's look at a couple examples to see the differences. Examples of discrete data would include the number of dogs, number of students, or the amount of money. Continuous data could be the weight of the dog, The height of the students The time it takes to run a mile Continuous data can be graphed on a histogram or a line graph Discrete data can be graphed on a bar graph I hope that helps with the difference between discrete and continuous data.
