Hello I'm Gil for Elevate Wellness Group. In this video I'm going to walk you through the process of testosterone injections in the comfort of your own home. We utilize a minimally invasive method that reduces the risk of pain, infection or anxiety. Let's begin.
First you'll note that we like utilizing an insulin syringe either a 27 or 29 gauge 1 half inch long. This makes injecting a brace. Let's begin by preparing our supplies and drawing up the medication. First, you'll need a vial of testosterone, your alcohol cleaning swabs, and your syringe.
Begin by wiping the top of the vial with a clean swab and allowing it to air dry. Next, draw air into the syringe equal to the dose prescribed. In this case, for demonstration, it is 25 units.
Insert the needle into the center of the vial stopper, inject the air, to pressurize the vial. Next, turn the vial and syringe upside down, ensuring to secure the two together to avoid bending the needle. Draw back on the plunger to create a vacuum inside of the syringe and allowing the testosterone in the oil to draw into the syringe.
This may take up to 30 seconds depending on your dose. Next, cap the needle carefully to prevent contamination and sit it in front of a table. Roll up a sleeve and pressurize the vial. place the arm on the table with a 90 degree bend ensuring the elbow is rested to release tension from the lateral deltoid muscle. Use a swab in a circular motion on the deltoid to clean then proceed to inject at a 90 degree angle maintaining steady pressure on the plunger until empty.
Remove the needle and discard in a sharps container. You may want to swab the injection site one more time and apply firm circular pressure for a few seconds. That's it, you're all done.
