Expedición Nemo: Una natación por la conservación

After walking around the world on foot many people asked me: and now, what? As if it were impossible to do anything else or, as if life were tremendously boring for me then. It couldn't be further from the truth. When I look at a world map I can spend hours contemplating it dreaming of new challenges... All my energies are devoted to a new challenge: to link the five continents by swimming. I have the pleasure of introducing to you The Nemo Expedition. I will cross the Gibraltar strait swimming, more than 15 kilometers with strong currents connecting Africa to Europe. The Bosphorus strait, in Istambul, connecting Europe to Asia The Aqaba Gulf, in the Red Sea, with a high salinity, more than 15 kilometers connecting Asia to Africa. The Bering sea, three kilometers with water at 3º celsius and strong currents connecting Asia to America. And more than twelve kilometers in the Bismarck sea with jellyfish and sharks connecting Asia to Oceania. A great challenge to show the beauty of the world we live in, to demonstrate that with work, effort and perseverance nothing is impossible, and to raise awareness of the importance of looking after the oceans on a planet where more than 70% of the surface is covered by water. We have the opportunity and the responsibility to take action. I invite you to follow me.
