Hey everybody Doctor O. here. Real quick video we are gonna talk about the three domains of life. So based on cellular organization cellular cellular structure um all life has been categorized as being one of the three domains and that is the Bacteria, the Archaea (which is how I say it some people say it differently) and the Eukarya. So obviously most of the time you focus on the Eukarya, the Eukaryotes because that’s where humans are as you can see from the yellow star there. But lets lets take a real quick walk through each one of these. Obviously, the Bacteria are gonna be focused on a Microbiology, so we’ll go through all the different types. The Archaea (I call them prehistoric bacteria) they are bacteria that or uh you know they they have some similarities to bacteria but different cell walls so they definitely are not the same thing. We barley talk about them, and then we have Eukarya (which to me the Eukaryotes the ones we care about fall under four groups). You have the the animals like us , you have the plants, you have the fungi, and you have the protists. So that’s the one that’s not on here, so just real quickly a protist is basically it’s this grouping of Eukaryotes that are not plants, animals, or fungi. So pretty much everything else falls under the group protists. Now they do matter in Microbiology though because um algae and your protozoa your single-celled Eukaryotic organisms would be classified as protists. Alright so those are the three domains of life : Bacteria, the Archaea, and the Eukarya. So hope this helps. Have a wonderful day, be blessed.
