let's talk about Anthony risten and the Indianapolis Colts when I look at the Indianapolis Colts right now they're seven to nine they're going to miss the NFL playoffs for yet another season and that's all fine and good for most teams in the NFL you have a down year you bounce back the next year but when you look at the Indianapolis Colts every single year is a down year they never win any meaningful games and this is an organization that's just been treading water over the last decade look at this for example this is the only team in this division that has not won won the division title in the last 10 years zero division titles in the last 10 years the Jacksonville Jaguars have won this division the Tennessee Titans have won this Division and the Houston Texans have won this Division and this is not one of the best divisions in the NFL you can make the case of this is one of the weaker divisions in the NFL on a year in and year out basis and they've tried different head coaches this organization has not been the same since Andrew Luck retired and I don't blame Andrew Luck for retiring they never got this man in offensive line they let him get beat to Hell on a year in and year out basis and when the offensive line finally got out there and they had to right pieces around on the offensive line he retires and the fans they boo him because they want him to stick around which put the Colt into a very interesting and murky situation you have had jacobe brassette Carson Wentz Philip Rivers Sam Elder all come in and start a games for you and none of those guys going to be the long-term answer and the same with G menu but you look this situation here with Anthony richon it was a lot of hype coming out of college with this kid many people were comparing him to Cam Newton and Josh Allen this is what the national media does when they say it's a bad quarterback class all of a sudden you hear about a guy that you haven't heard of all college season long and they push him out there that's what they did with Anthony Richardson Anthony Richardson in his last year of Florida remember they compared him to Cam Newton a man that's a Heisman Trophy winner one of the best Auburn quarterbacks of all time had a crazy season in college Anthony richen in 2022 in Florida he had 17 pass and touchdowns to n interceptions does that sound dominant when Kyler Murray was selected in the first round this man went out there won the highest of the trophy had a great season had great years in college hell even Johnny Manzel had better numbers than Anthony Richardson but it's a potential because he's so big he's fast he's able to throw the football in the dime and when I hear people say that he's fast I just laugh Anthony richson Anthony rich is a physical Runner he doesn't have the same speed as Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson he's not slow he has good Mobility but he's not going to outrun most linebackers linebackers at half speed they could catch up to Anthony Richardson I've seen it happen it happened against the Green Bay Packers it happened against the Chicago Bears Chaine Edmond tracked him down and the same with TJ Edwards so to say that this man has blazing speed you're not watching you're not watching his film and you're not watching any Anapolis Colts football not a bad Runner he can go out there he can make some guys miss here and there but he's a physical Runner and it brings over to the injuries when I look at Anthony Richardson he has been able to stay healthy last season was cut short due to a shoulder injury and he suffered a concussion also last season this year he hurt his hip against the Steelers he had a check out of the game for Joe Flaco he tapped out of a game because he was too tired this is not the first time he's tapped out of games he did this in college they'll take him out for a couple plays and they put him back in so your conditioning isn't there because you're just running around and Anthony risten is running around for no reason this is an offensive line that is very good when they're fully healthy from tackle to tackle he's rushing himself into sacks and look at what happened at Houston Texans game the offensive line not have their best outing he got sacked five times in that matchup but you look at Anthony richon he has no pocket presence he has the worst accuracy in the NFL for a starter that's why his completion percentage is so low the Indianapolis Colt only have 21 drops as a team that's ranked 16th in the NFL now other teams have 21 drops but they can overcome that when you have a guy like Anthony Richardson his accuracy is so terrible he misses wide open touchdowns like this right here to where the guy is wide open in the Red Zone you can't have these type of plays as a starting quarterback in the NFL and he isn't showing promise against the New England Patriots he had two interceptions yes he helped them get the win and they went for two that's a great moment and against the New York Jets but those are two of the worst teams in the NFL when I look at Anthony richon you can't stay healthy on the field you're missing games he missed the game against the New York Giants a very PIV pivotal game they needed him in that matchup now Joe flacko is a better quarterback than him right now but they needed him and he wasn't able to play pinch nerve in his back it hurt him so bad to where you see was crawling around his house because he couldn't walk and get around and last off season he couldn't go out there and throw and have the full reps because he was still recovering from that shoulder surgery that he suffered the year before when I look at Anthony richon he can't protect himself he can't stay healthy he doesn't have the accuracy to work in this league he'll have some Splash plays here and there but most backup quarterbacks they have Splash plays look at jamus Winston for a game or two you'll be amazed by jamus Winston the same with Miss trabis for a game or two you'll scratch your head say maybe there's something there but you know those guys are not quality starting quarterbacks in the NFL they took the wrong guy in the first round many people thought that he was in the in and possibly be the franchise savior with the Indianapolis Colts that's not going to be the case I'm waving the white flag on Anthony Richardson the turnovers are terrible the accuracy is horrible and he can't stay healthy maybe he can go out there and have a career like Josh Allen but the difference was this Josh Allen with the Buffalo Bills he was able to go out there and work on his craft yes he dealt with injuries but not like this Josh Allen dealt with concussions that was it this man is dealing with serious injuries because he's getting lit up and even when he's sliding getting himself out of bounds he'll come back the next play and he's trying to truck a linebacker or he's trying to truck a cornerback you're not going to last in this league and he doesn't have the pocket Presence at least Josh Allen was able to develop the pocket presence in year two and year three in the NFL coming out of Wyoming and not every quarterback that has a huge arm and is able to run and have sidearm throws like Josh Allen in college is going to be the next Josh Allen that's why they are generational talent I believe the Indianapolis Colts they have missed on Anthony richen they're going to give him more time for sure but when I look at the culture that they have right now this is terrible no one is being held accountable Shane steon came out a couple of days ago and said you know what everyone's not going to be on time he was basically okay with that what do you mean everyone's not going to be on time this is the NFL and most jobs 9 to5 you're going to be on time you have to be there and you to be held accountable when I look at this right now with the Colts it's like it's a daycare they're babysitting players Anthony risten did Tapped Out Shane ston he did go out there he did bench him but only for a couple of games and he went right back to him Joe flacko is a better player and speaking of not being held accountable this defense has been horrendous all season long Gus Bradley should have been fired a long time ago when they lost against the Green Bay Packers Anthony richon had two interceptions in that matchup Mal Malik Willis looked better than Anthony Richardson and Malik Willis had a lot of struggles with the Tennessee Titans that tells me a lot that the coaching with the Green Bay Packers is so good and the culture is also very awesome over there to add on to that list when I look at the cult Shane ston has done a lot of good things but to keep Gus Bradley around that's a terrible decision this defense is horrendous the New York Giants have only won two games heading into that last matchup against the Colts only two games they scored 45 points and they defeated the Indianapolis Colts 45 to 33 the offense held up their part of the bargain they scored 33 points Jon the Taylor's been going out there he's been balling out especially in the last couple games of this season when was the last time the New York Giants went out there and they scored over 40 points and they have drew lock as their starting quarterback he had four pass and touchdowns on the day Malik neighbors very good wide receiver had 17 71 receiving yards two receiving touchdowns one Del Robinson has 71 receiving yards one receiving touchdown and it's the same plays they're biting on fakes there is no Gap discipline this is a Indianapolis Coast team they have good defensive players DeForest Buckner is a very good defensive tackle he's a very good player I look at quiddy pay he can go out there he can do a lot of good things for you he has seven sacks on the season one force fumble Samson e kwam has missed his entire season he's dealing with an injury but you have the Forest bugner you have Grover Stewart you have EJ speed you have zier Franklin zier Franklin is a tackle machine this is backtack years to where he's been their top linebacker in the interior so it's not a Personnel problem it's a coaching problem and Gus Bradley has had situations in the past to where the defense underachieved because of his terrible coaching that's all on him players do have to go out there they do have to step up yes but when you're calling dumb defensive play calls there's only so much the players can do at the end of the day coaching is the most important aspect of football it's the most important aspect of sports in general and right now the Indianapolis Colt they don't have good defensive coaching and I want to go back to the offense here Shane ston has done great work in the past with Jaylen Herz with Justin Herbert he helped develop both of those quarterbacks he can't develop this kid Justin Herbert insane quarterback Talent Jaylen Hurst was developed in his last year at College this is a man that transferred from abama went to u to be coached up by Lincoln Riley a very good college coach especially with working with quarterbacks he coached up Baker Mayfield coached up kyam Murray he has a good track record bring over Jaylen Hurst now Jaylen Hurst is not the most polished passer in the NFL but he has instincts and he has Poise inside the pocket Anthony richen does not have that and jayen Hurst has more maturity than Anthony Richardson I don't think that Shane ston is a terrible coach as a head coach he is still unproven being a good coordinator and being a good quarterback coach is way different from being an offensive coordinator is way different from being a head coach in the NFL that is completely different when you're position coach you only worry about quarterbacks when you're offensive coordinator you're only worry about offense when you're a head coach you worried about special teams defense offense you worried about the entire team and this defense being terrible he does deserve some blame because Gus Bradley is still in this roster and he decided to bring him back and he should have fired him a long time ago maybe they go out there maybe they bring in Matt E flu to be their defensive coordinator they bring in someone like Robert Salah that would help out this defense because I don't believe that Shane ston should be fired at the end of the day Chris Ballard went out there and he was sold on Anthony Richardson more than Shane steon was and Shane steon did sign off on the deal they came down to a mutual agreement but Chris Balor was the one that was enamored by him Chris ballad his record with the Indianapolis Colt is 61 69 and one and he's been the general manager since 2017 he's drafted some very good players but listen to that record you have to go out there and at least wi division title in the last 10 years the culture is terrible with this organization no one is being held accountable and you have a quarterback that doesn't know what the hell he is doing on the field and he can't protect himself they need to sit him down and let him develop over the next few years but that's not possible because you don't have anyone on this team right now that can go out there there and just grab everyone and say you know what I'm the starting quarterback we'll give Anthony richen time to sit and develop Joe Flaco is a better quarterback he did make the NFL playoffs last season with the Cleveland Browns but he's a turnover machine you draft quarterbacks like this in the first or second round when you have a guy like Aaron Rodgers that's on the last year of his deal when he's on the back end of his career look at what the Packers have done they had Brett faf they brought in Aaron roggers they let Brett Favre play for a couple Seasons then they slid in Aaron roggers Aaron Rodgers he only had a couple more years left on his deal with the green a Packers they were done with it they brought in Jordan love let Aaron Rogers go out there let him play last couple years of his career slide in Jordan love because he's ready to play and he developed on the sideline Anthony Ritson should have never been selected in the first round to begin with there is Talent there yes but just because there's Talent there and you haven't hitting your talent doesn't mean that you're going to be a star in this league we've seen this in the past with Tam TBO very nice guy had all the athleticism had a huge arm just couldn't work out in the NFL the same with Zack Wilson he has all the intal all the talent just couldn't work out Paxon Lynch has a huge arm to sides the speed to get outside the pocket just couldn't work out hell the Indianapolis Colts know this from first experience look at will Levis will Levis has the ideal size strength and mobility and this man can't even stay on the field he's getting benched on a week in and week out basis in favor of Mason Rudolph he's going to be splitting reps with Mason Rudolph in the season finale I don't believe that Anthony richen is a good quarterback and I don't believe that Anthony richon will be the franchise guy they're looking for this is an organization that has been placed into a terrible situation and at the end of the day I blame Jim Ur and I blame Chris Balor but Jim ERS has been a terrible owner with this team for many years now and is starting to show the disrespect towards the legends of the game in terms of how he did Pon Manning many decades ago look how they treat Pat McAfee right now now the Indianapolis Colts are a sad franchise and they're mediocre at best and I like Shane ston but I don't believe this is the right quarterback for him to go out there and truly develop I know you look at Anthony richen you look at the size and the speed and you say hey this kid could be the next guy and sometimes you go out there you draft a quarterback in the first round and it doesn't work out look at the New York Giants and they double down on it the team that just went out there and defeated you with a backup quarterback and Drew like essentially their third screen quarterback because Tommy deito was starting games just a couple weeks ago and he had four pass and touchdowns against this defense that is sad and pathetic but let me know in the comments section below how do you guys feel about the Indianapolis cult and do you believe that down let him go out there let him truly develop he came back in over the last few games he has looked better that could be the case with Anthony Richardson but Bryce young is is a better thrower of
