Romeo and Juliet Final Scene Summary

paris visits the tomb of juliet and orders his page which is a servant to give him some flowers and stand watch to see if someone is coming he specifically instructs his page to whistle if someone approaches and with that paris starts to scatter the petals of the flowers all around juliet knowing that someone is approaching paris decides to hide to see who it is from the dark emerges romeo and his servant balthazar romeo tells baldassar to give him his tool and makes up an excuse as to why he is digging up juliet he tells balthazar that he is just trying to retrieve an important ring from the body of juliet he instructs balthasar to leave and not spy on him in any way and also gives him a letter that he has written for his father he says farewell and gives him some money saying live and be prosperous and farewell good fellow balthasar pretends to leave but actually stays behind and hides to see what romeo is up to unfortunately his intentions mean very little in the end since balthazar ends up falling asleep recognizing romeo as the man that has been exiled and the man that killed tibult paris assumes that this montague must have come to disrespect juliet so he comes out and engages in a fight will thou provoke me then have at thee boy after witnessing the fight break out between paris and romeo paris page runs off to get help but not long after romeo becomes the ultimate victor in the fight between the two oh i am slain if thou be merciful open the tomb and lay me with juliet when romeo sees juliet he wonders to himself how is it possible that juliet could be so beautiful even as a dead person he gives her a kiss and drinks the poison that he had bought earlier on the poison works its effect quickly and romeo gives her one last kiss before he eventually dies arriving just seconds too late friar lawrence sees balthazar and enters into the tomb only to see that romeo and paris are both dead at this point juliet wakes up and sees that romeo and paris are dead right beside her as if this were not intense enough of a moment sounds of men approaching the tomb can be heard it's evident to the friar that people will soon arrive to this scene and so he decides to run away juliet however does not follow him she finds a cup and realizes that romeo must have poisoned himself after seeing that she was dead and in an attempt to kill herself she kisses his lips but with the sound of the men drawing closer and closer she realizes that she has no time to hope for this poison to work she looks to romeo's dagger and without much contemplation she kills herself right then and there by the time paris's page and the watchmen arrive all are already dead eventually the prince and the capulets arrive and are obviously shocked to see that juliet who is supposed to be dead already seems to have somehow died again but the tragic set of events continue further when montague arrives and explains that his wife has recently passed away from sadness in regards to romeo being exiled for montague to have to witness the death of his son right after seeing his wife pass away is a most catastrophic moment when the prince asks friar lawrence to speak of what he knows in regards to these events fry lawrence gives a clear explanation as to what had really happened between romeo and juliet the prince confirms everything that has been said by the friar as true remarks after reading romeo's letter that balthazar was supposed to send to montague capulet montague see what the scourge is laying upon your hate that heaven finds means to kill your joys with love and i for winking at your discord have lost the brace of kinsmen all are punished but unlike at the beginning of this story montague and capulet agree with the prince's disappointment they decide to finally let go of the hate that they have felt for each other for such a long time in fact montague even proclaims that he will raise a statue of capulet's daughter juliet in gold encapulete remarks that he shall also make a statue of romeo in gold right beside his daughter the prince says that there will never be a story more painful than this one and so ends the tragedy of romeo and juliet
