[Music] hey guys AJ from the Moto Academy here in this video I'm going to teach you how to jump higher and further simple as that oh almost died so right here we've got about 150t triple the tough thing about this triple is that the takeoff is not very tall you guys will be able to see in the b-roll that's playing as I'm talking the big thing is trying to create pop and really preload so you you can get the height and distance that you want way to do this is I always have a finger on the clutch that's important and even at high speed so this is a fourth gear wide open jump I am still using the clutch a little bit to assist the bike to get up into the RPMs as I pread normal way of jumping would be maintaining nice linear throttle approaching with speed and maintaining that speed on this jump here I'm really doing my best to try to create ramp up of RPM as I go off the takeoff and a good way of demonstrating that is I was rolling the jump before it and still able to clear this 150 ft triple by Rolling the jump before it in simple terms they compressing down with the bike so it's almost the same movement you would do on a BMX bike if you were to Bunny Hop where you're compressing down with it and then you're going up compressing down with it and going up now on a dirt bike you are not really yanking as much as you are assisting the bike in the compression so that it'll amplify the rebound you're not really creating the rebound by pulling I think that's where the mistake is so you'll see me compressed down with the bike as I'm ramping up RPMs to try to really make that compression rebound as aggressive and poppy as possible and then when I get into the air I'm really almost like a long distance jump skier straight legs head to the front handlebars to the waistline and what that does is it allows the bike to float ever so slightly front end High which just allows me to carry further distance and almost stretch the jump in a sense then what I do at the height of my jump when I know I'm going to make it I pull the clutch in tap the rear brake or just do it with Body English I'm not sure if I did any of those without using the rear brake pretty simple what's nice about dirt bikes as opposed to BMX bikes or mountain bikes is that the bike pretty much does it all for you it's just learning how the suspension works and how to time that preload with the ramp up of throttle so the way I describe it is your throttle input should almost match the transition of the takeoff so and I'm using the clutch to assist that even on a fourth gear wide open jump on a 450 so if that doesn't tell you something I think as simple as that all right guys that's how you jump higher and further it's easy isn't it if it's not easy if you're struggling if you have any questions download the Moto Academy app go to the Moto academy.com where you guys can sign up for summer camp tour dates you can get inside the app and train with us on there you can do absolutely everything with us as a community and it's amazing so yeah okay for now good a [Music]
