This is a 3D LiDAR 360 camera featuring a micro 4 third image sensor with 134MP. It can capture stunning 16K 360 photo and 3D dollhouse like this in less than a minute. Then it can generate a detailed 2D floor plan with less than 20mm measuring air.
It can even use AI to renovate empty space. In a matter of seconds, with no extra cost compared to the expensive Metaphone. Today, we are going to dive deep into an all-in-one virtual tour platform. This is not a clickbait title.
What I am going to show you will give you a competitive edge in the professional virtual tour industry that you have not seen anywhere else. If you are unsatisfied with the limited image quality and editing ability, of the Metapod Pro 3 or you are so sick of switching your own photo shot on a DSLR rig with PTGuri and don't want to spend months to build a Virtual 2 in 3D Vista without even a 3D doorhouse, this is the video for you. This video is for Virtual 2 professionals who want to make money.
If you are serious about giving your client the best product, Let's grab a cup of coffee or tea and join me in this in-depth review. Hey, what's up everybody. It's your boy Hugh here and your dog Kimchi. We are back for another Virtual Tour tutorial. Don't forget to hit the like button.
So, Kim Chin get a free snack? We are discussing a new player in the virtual tour industry, the RealSee. But before I tell you RealSee, you need to know the benefit of Metaport.
The reason why you want to upgrade it to Metaport from all the other virtual tour platforms besides its build it for you feature, it is the 3D doorhouse, the light measurement and the floor plan. Well, RealSee can tell you that. For that, I actually kinda trick you there. What I just show you is not Metaport.
It is all created in RealC. The setup is super easy. And everything can be done on a mobile phone. No computer, stitching, photo editing or 3D tour building is necessary. You can use your phone as a camera or any 360 camera, like the Insta360 or the Ricoh Theta.
But the easiest workflow and the best result is to use the official camera, the GALAX M2. GALAX is a 3D LiDAR camera. And the only other 3D LiDAR camera in the market is the famous Metaport Pro 3. Let's make a spec comparison.
GALAX won a Red Dog Design Award in 2021, before Metaport launched their similar LiDAR design. The doorhouse created with the GALAX M2 is as good and as detailed as Metaport. And it can be used outdoor and scan large space fast.
Just to point out, you can not scan outdoors with the Metapore Pro 2. And if you use Polycam, well, it might take a day for a single scan. This is a matter of seconds. In RAW, image resolution both capture 16K 360 photo in 134MP.
But there is a huge difference in sensor size. Metapore Pro 3 is only a 1-inch sensor. Just like the Insta360 ONE RS 1-inch, Galois is the first 3D LiDAR camera to employ a Micro 4-3 sensor.
So the image quality is better, reaching professional DSLR quality. Metapod camera can only allow you to download a 4K, less than 4MP, highly compressed JPEG. Basically useless if you want to host your 3D photo somewhere else, like your Facebook page for promotional purposes.
RealSeed allows you to download full 16K 360 panel and don't care about how you use the 360 photo. So if you decide to use KR panel or 3D Vista because you want to create your own tour, instead of asking AI to do it for you, you can. Galaverse will just be your high-end 360 camera.
Metapod is all about control, a very monopoly mindset of approaching the virtual tour industry. RealSeed does not care what you do. do with your photos, you own the photos you capture, and you don't have to use their platform to create 3D tours. Although, real-c virtual tour platform is pretty amazing.
More on that later. Metapod Pro 3 still has 3 advantages though. Its vertical field of view is 295 degrees, meaning the camera will capture the top part of the sphere.
The ceiling, Galois M2 only capture 150 degrees, significantly smaller than 360 camera. Here is the capture result. You see, the ceiling and the tripod is missing.
RealSee Virtual Tour platform actually does not allow you to fully look up or look down in 360. Well, I don't necessarily agree with that. But what do you think? Comment below. The second advantage is HDR bracketed number.
Galois only capture 3 exposure brackets while Metapore Pro 3 capture 5. Two more stops of dynamic range. This helps in challenging lighting situations. But Galois does have a more natural looking image rather than an HDR baked looking in Metapore. Using their baked image sensor instead of a small HDR merging. The third advantage is capture speed.
Metapore Pro 3 takes around 5 seconds. 20 seconds per capture point, while Galaverse takes 25 seconds for a fast capture and 60 seconds for a slow capture. Slow capture mode is an interesting feature that Pro 3 does not have.
It allows the LiDAR to capture a more dense point cloud system, which is great for 3D reconstruction when you move the point cloud data of the platform to Blender or other 3D software. Think about Nerf and the latest 3D Glossier Splatting in the VFX world. This can be an advantage for Gala Wars instead of a disadvantage. Because Metapod does not allow me to get the original 16K 360 photo, it is hard for me to make a fair side by side comparison. So instead, I use the Insta360 ONE RS 1-inch 360 camera right here, and my very high-end Sony Alpha 1 8K mirrorless camera on the Nodal Ninja Robotic Head Mega C2 to be honest.
benchmark the image quality. The ONE IS 1-inch is a 1-inch sensor camera, just like the Metapod Pro 3. It is a widely used Virtual 2 photo camera because its price and portability. Both Metapod and VLC Virtual 2 platform support the Insta360 camera natively.
So if you don't want to buy the expensive Pro 3 or the Galois right here, this camera or the Ricoh Theta Z1 is what I would recommend. My Sony takes 6 photos to stitch the full panel. It reaches 14K resolution using PTGriplo. This or the Canon EOS R5 is what the professionals are using for a very high-end virtual tour.
Here is a comparison with the original resolution. The camera was captured in 16K, bigger than both the Sony and Insta360. Why is resolution so important in 360 virtual tour?
Let's go! Because all virtual tools platform allow you to zoom in for detail. So let's zoom in. Now you see the 16K advantage.
We can clearly read the Fuji text on the Galois and not readable on Insta360. Sony is not as clear and as sharp as Galois. But Sony does has less digital noise because it is bigger sensor. Let's take a look at the outside of the house. Galois is sharp and clear with amazing image quality.
It also has a decent dynamic range even only using 3 brackets of HDR. One amazing advantage of Galois is its actual color representation. It virtually has no chromatic aberration thanks to its very high-quality fisheye lens.
Galois uses AI and LiDAR data to stitch the 360 photo, instead of optical flow in Insta360 or template stitch in PTGui. Which means it has flawless results without any problems. artifacts.
Look at the stitch line area. Insta360 is blurry and has optical flow artifacts. No matter how tight the space you are capturing or how close the objects are to the camera, Galois can stitch without any errors. At least I have not seen any. Here are my bathroom in a really tight space.
The result is perfect. So if you are one of those photographers really care about image quality but don't care about the quality of the image, then you are don't want to do manual stitching or control point stitching, you will be satisfied with the image quality of the GALAX, thanks to its Micro Four Third Image Sensor and powerful machine learning data. GALAX is a fully automated camera with auto white balance and auto AI piloted exposure, HDR tone mapping, denoising, haze removal, sharpening, and saturation adjustment. But not like Metapore, you can still add your own signature touch to your final 360 photos. Right here in the web-based virtual tour platform, you can add your own color grade using the glow-in-the-dark.
Global Spatial Filter. You can make your whole scene brighter, warmer or customize everything to create your own signature style. The biggest advantage of VLC Galois is the price. Manopause Pro 3 costs $5,995, but it just the camera is useless.
You need to also pay for the whole thing plan. And the professional plan costs around $600 for the cheapest annual subscription. So, your starting price for the Pro 3 is about $6655.
Well there is also a hidden cost most reviewers don't tell you. The schematic floor plan, as you see here, is not included. It costs 15 to 30 USD per space. And this is a subscription model as well. You need to buy this plan again next year.
On the contrary, Realce has a very simple pricing. For $5,499 USD, you get the GALAX camera with the professional image quality, a free high quality carbon fiber tripod, and 1500 credits. It is about 150 space hosting per year like the professional plan in Metaport. It is not a subscription model.
You pay as you go. If you did not use all your credits this year, they roll over next year. If your business scale and you need more credit, you can just buy more anytime you want.
Here is the pricing comparison. Right now, the 5500 promotional pricing also includes free floorplan editor, free 3D live call and AI virtual renovation. They are all cool features that Metapod does not offer. Let's talk about it next.
Floorplan editor allows you to edit the AI generated floor plan, you can create very detailed floor plan and even put furniture drawing on it. Great for home decoration. Metapod can also do that but it costs extra.
From $15 to $30 per floor plan, depends on how soon you want it. 3D Live Call is basically like the 3D Vista Live guided tour. It is an essential feature for realtors to live showcase the property to potential buyers, with the hope of closing the deal on the call.
Metaport can not do it without a third-party app, which usually costs extra. ReelC comes with it as part of a core interface. And it is free, at least for now. AI virtual renovation is something new that I have not seen anywhere else.
You can certainly virtually decorate on many other virtual tools platforms nowadays. But Not like RealSeed. It uses the 3D LiDAR data to completely renovate the space based on the style you choose.
And no interior designer knowledge is needed. It even supports NERF like Luma AI. You can scan furniture with your phone and place them in virtually in 3D. It is pretty insane how good the AI is.
You need to try it yourself. All standard virtual tour features you like in 3D Vista is built-in. inside ReelC console.
You can insert text, image, audio, video and even e-commerce feature into the space. One thing it is really cool is this screen feature. It turns aesthetic boring virtual tour into a video virtual tour.
As you see, I placed a fake TV here and it share in all spaces. continue to play while I am moving around in the space. It feels like virtually the TV is there in the physical 3D space.
Very cool. All hotspots react to the depth and 3D shape of the space. They all look super real. How is the capture experience like?
Well, it is a lot easier than using a DSLR or even a 360 camera. Everything is controlled on my phone. I don't need to hide. I just need to follow the camera as long as I am not in the way of the camera or the lighter.
A 1000 sqft takes me around 15 minutes. I will recommend scanning the first floor completely first, including all the rooms and the bathroom, then move up to the second floor. Don't forget to scan the stairs when you go up. Also, turn on all lights indoor in the room. Unlike Metapod Pro 3, Galois handle household lighting pretty well without HDR artifacts.
For space that does not have light at all, I like to bring my own COB light. Like my new Uni-Z 40W bi-color COB light. It is super affordable, costs only $80 USD. with over 95 CRI.
It is super small and compact. And battery power. It comes with a mini softbox. I like to turn the color temperature to warmer side of thing to match indoor lighting in around 3600 to 4000K.
The high quality LiDAR reach up to 25MHz outdoor so you don't really need too many points to scan a large backyard like this. Doing scanning, your scanned data is also uploading onto the ReelC Cloud in the background to save time. But in general, I would suggest connecting to a Wi-Fi hotspot after scanning to upload all your data.
Then depending on how many scan points, it will take AI from 1 hour up to 12 hours to process your data. Most of the time for a simple house, I can show the client the rub without in the same day. Here you go, this is the final result.
Then You can go back to your studio, open VLC console on the web browser, edit the floor plan and add hotspot. AI already did most of the work for you. All you need to do now is to edit and make it better. Like adding your agent's information and phone number, upload onto Google Maps which is also built-in, and share the result with your MLS platform like Zillow. Hit the publish button, your white label virtual tool will be live on the internet.
No need to mess around with Amazon hosting or server nightmare. It is as easy as Metaport powered by AI or as complicated as you want it to be like in 3D Vista. This is totally up to you as a creator. So is ReelC the true Metaport killer?
What do you think after watching this video? Comment below. I will say at least ReelC is a good alternative to Metaport. Before ReelC No other Virtual 2 platform even comes close. No service is perfect.
When you switch floor, back and forth during capture, sometimes the AI will get confused and be off-aligned. With the help of 3D point cloud, it is actually very easy to manually re-align, just like what you see right here. Besides continue training their AI to improve accuracy on the 3D side of things, RealSee also commit to support professional photographers. For example, One feedback I give to them is to allow us to download and edit the 16K panel in Photoshop, patch the missing top and bottom with AI-generated fill, improve the quality with AI like Topaz Photo or even Stable Diffusion, and then allow us to re-upload the 16K photo but keeping all the original LiDAR through the data, doorhouse and through the measuring.
They say YES! And it will be available in September. Metaport won't even allow you to touch their Pro 3 photos. To keep this video fair, all the links in this video is NOT affiliated link.
I don't get a dime from you if you choose ReelSee or not. They did send me the Galois for testing and cover some of my costs for producing this video. But they don't control what I am saying and don't get to see this video until it goes live.
I am very excited to see new competition. come into the virtual tour market that heavily utilize the latest AI tech and innovation. Competition is good for consumers like us and the entire industry. I am still pretty new to the ReelSee platform as a 3D Vista user. But I am planning to make more ReelSee tutorials to help you get started, up your virtual tour game, and win high-end clients fast.
