Importance of GMAT

First Step for MBA: High GMAT score is crucial for admission into top business schools.
Valid for 5 Years: GMAT scores are accepted for five years.
Cost: The test costs $250.
Attempts: Can be taken up to five times a year and a total of eight times in a lifetime.
Acceptance: Accepted by approximately 2,300 business schools worldwide for MBA, MIM, and other management programs.

Duration: 3 hours and 7 minutes (with two 8-minute breaks).
Sections:
1. Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA): Evaluate reasoning and argument critique.
2. Integrated Reasoning (IR): Analyze data from various formats to solve complex problems.
3. Verbal Reasoning: Tests reading comprehension, critical reasoning, and sentence correction.
4. Quantitative Ability: Assesses mathematical skills with 31 questions, on topics learned in high school.

AWA: Argument critique with examples.
IR: Data interpretation and problem-solving.
Verbal Reasoning: Includes reading comprehension and grammar.
Quantitative Ability: Covers arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and statistics.
- Arithmetic Topics: Number theory, percentages, ratios, etc.
- Algebra Topics: Quadratic equations, inequalities, etc.
- Geometry Topics: Shapes, coordinate geometry, trigonometry, etc.

Total Score: 200 to 800 (based on quantitative and verbal sections).
Section Scores: Each section scored on a scale of 6 to 51. AWA and IR receive separate scores.

Locations: Over 700 test centers globally.
Timing: Recommended to register at least one year prior to application deadlines.

Coaching Institutions: Offer courses, mock tests, and assistance.
Self-Study: Cost-effective method with many resources available.
