the last couple weeks I've been at home a lot actually been very sick I've got some kind of virus some kind of bug and and I don't know it it hit me very very hard and so I've had a lot of time to think and and contemplate and just reading and praying and praying for the church and and of course watching you know I like to listen to different people I like to be fed last week we went to Hillsong and actually when I got there wasn't feeling too good either and don't worry actually remember the first day or so and and just listening to the different ministers and pastors and preachers from around the world preach and was really blessed and one of the reasons that kept coming up on the inside of me and even I guess today thinking about as we ordain gamin and Stephen why do we do the things that we do why do we teach the things that we teach and so I guess that's why we're the the the title of the message reasons why well why do we teach this why do we preach this why do we talk about the things that we do we deal with two different aspects of life we deal with the eternal and we deal with the temporary and they're both incredibly important john 3:16 one of the most known verses probably that's ever quoted around planet Earth for God so loved and that is the foundation of everything that comes across as communicated in the gospel is that God loves that he loves you that he loves people he doesn't love us because we're great doesn't love us because we're perfect He loves us He loves you when you weren't good you know the Bible says when we were still sinners Christ died for us he doesn't love me because I loved him he loved me before I ever loved him for God so loved the world that He gave love causes you to be a giver and He gave the best that he had He gave His only begotten Son and then if we would believe in him we would not perish but we would have everlasting life the focal point of John 3:16 is that God loves God gives and when we believe in the one that he sent that we have eternal life now we have a natural physical temporary life but when life comes to an end we step out of our physical bodies and we step into eternity when we step into eternity I want heaven to be my home so one of the the important truths that we communicate in this house which is why we give altar calls is because Jesus came for a reason and He shed his blood for a reason without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins if there's no forgiveness of sins that man is still in his sin and he's still guilty because of that sin but when that sin has been washed away and the price has been paid then you are free from the penalty of that sin because the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life I don't know about you I want eternal life but I want that eternal life with him see the true reality of it all is with or without Jesus you will exist for eternity but with Jesus where you spend that eternity is determined I want to be in heaven okay that's exciting no I want to be in heaven how many of you want to go to heaven anybody here okay how many of you want to go to hell no hands good no how many of you want to go to heaven how many of you plan on going to have it you know that's why when we have wakes when we have funerals we are sad at the departure of someone we miss them we love them we miss their time their presence but you know there is a joy and knowing that we have this this Living Hope that when Paul said to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord and so as we are communicating these truths every time we preach we want to make sure that people know that the greatest gift ever given was was a savior and his name was Jesus and as the Bible says in John chapter one as many as received him to them he gave the power to be called the children of God of the sons of God so I want to secure an eternity but I don't want to just have eternal life insurance I also want to enjoy my life on earth and I want to live my life on earth with purpose with distinction with significance so I in John chapter 10 verse 10 and the amplified says the thief comes to steal kill and destroy but I have come that you might have and enjoy so you have and enjoy a lot of people have certain things but they're not necessarily enjoying them that's why we have marriage and parenting that's why we have a married for life and one for life and that's why we do everything that we can to help young couples before they get married or some that are already married go through these classes we just had a graduating class this last week that there were three couples that just any time they're just ready to call it quits give up and say that's it we're over it's done this is not working but when you get Jesus to step into the middle and we understand our own weaknesses in our hearts and our own pains and when we can get whole then we can come into a relationships and two whole people can really enjoy life together but two broken people cannot fix one another so what have we do well we have classes because we care about your life we care about your marriage and we want you whole we don't want you just to have a marriage we want you to enjoy it we don't want you just to have kids but enjoy your kids some of you have kids right now but you're not really enjoying them well poor there's a lot of things that can help change that a lot of people have a job but they don't really enjoy it a lot of people have a life but you're not enjoying it Jesus wants you to have and enjoy life so there's eternity but there's the now and everything that we teach and everything that we preach is to bring a security and to cause faith to come alive knowing that my eternity is secure that I am seated in heavenly places with him jesus said I go to prepare a place for me for you that where I am there you will be also so we we know that I have that but listen while I'm here alive on earth how does this affect me here on earth I want to have and enjoy life and have it to the full and have it in abundance how many of you like abundance whatever it is that God wants me to have I want to have it abundance if anyone lacks wisdom let him ask of God well I don't want a little wisdom I want to have an abundance of wisdom I don't want to have a little peace I want to have an abundance of peace I don't want to have a little strength I won't have an abundance of strength I don't want to have just a little tiny Authority I want to have an abundance of Authority whatever he wants me to have I like abundance how about you so this life that he came to give us doesn't just secure that he's prepared a place for us in heaven that where he is we will be also but while we're here on earth our life counts our life matters and we can live it strong we can live it full we can live it free and we can have joy on earth in a physical body and we can honor him and bless him and we can touch our generation that's why we teach the things that we teach first John chapter 5 verse 4 says whatever's born of God overcomes the world this God's Word shows you the intention and the purpose that he has towards your life whatever's born of God are you born of God the Bible says that you you are to overcome the world and this is the victory that overcomes the world even our faith who is he who overcomes the world but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God the beginning of your faith is when you believe that Jesus is the Son of God so we see that we overcome the world we are called to be overcomers because of this faith that we have in him but then in verse 11 it also says and this is the testimony that God has given us eternal life this life is in his son he who has the son has life he who does not have the Son of God does not have life so again it talks about overcoming in this present day in age and world where we live here in the Philippines that we can be overcomers but also because of the son we also have eternal life we have a natural physical life we're living here with significance but we also have a security that eternal life is mine that when I'm finished with my time on earth eternity is mine forever why because I have the son not because I go to church but because I have a purse a relationship with a resurrected Savior I have received him I believe in him I believe it in my heart declared with my mouth that Jesus is Lord and God raised him from the dead and the Bible says therefore I am saved I am rescued I'm delivered I am made whole that's why we preach what we preach and why do we teach this and preach this so you can build a house that stands Luke chapter 6 verse 48 Jesus said whoever comes to me and hear my sayings and hears my sayings and does them and does them and does them and does them say that with me say and does them how many of you know what you hear it's important that you do because if you hear and do this is what you're like you're like a man who digs deep and builds us house upon a rock and when the storm came and the flood arose and in the stream beat strongly against the house it could not shake it say could not shake it why do we preach what we preach so you have a life that cannot be shaken how many of you want that help me know this a lot of things that come in life that can shake you up you can get good news in I mean bad news that can bat blind slides you and all of a sudden you can get shaken eight years ago we went through a challenge I never I never thought we'd go through sister shotted being diagnosed with TB and cancer in the same day I remember the the first day we went into the the hospital when when she was gonna go for a treatment we walked up into the cancer ward of st. Luke's and as we were walking into the I forget which floor it is we're walking into it and we look at each other with tears on our eyes thinking we never thought we would be in this place you know you hear things happening to other people but you just don't expect you're the one you know you can pray for other people with cancer but you don't expect to hear no you're the one with cancer now what do you do when bad news comes what do you what do you do when when you you you you think everything is good you go to work and they let you know I'm sorry but you have to week and we're releasing you here's your your payment and now you have no job and then you just got a car your kid is getting ready to go you're getting ready to enroll him and he's gonna go to this university or college or he's going to a new school and you've got all these plans of what's gonna happen and you find out you just lost your job and now what are you gonna do you can freak out you can faint you can get in fear or you can trust God you can do what you've been hearing on Sundays or in life group and you can get your eyes off your boss eyes off the doctor eyes off everything else get your eyes back in the word get your eyes on heaven and see what God's Word says about your situation why do we preach what we preach because we live in a world and we all have pressure how many of you have an electric how many of you have a Meralco bill now many have a car bill and then if you have a everybody wants to have a car till it breaks down and then you take it to the mechanic and it needs this and it needs that and all of a sudden you thinking oh this car it's a curse well yeah but last week it was a blessing yeah when it's working it's a blessing when it's broken and it needs fix then it's a curse and all those babies you kept making guess what they want to be fed they like clothes and they grow up and now they want to go to school see it's not sin it's just pressures of life how do we handle pressure you have to handle it with peace you have to handle it with joy and you have to handle it with faith what happens when the things on the outside seem to be bigger than you are a lot of things on the outside are bigger than you are but there's nothing on the outside bigger than him and when you realize greater is He that's in me then he that's in the world whether it's the pressures of life or the attacks of the devil I have a living relationship with a greater one and the truth of his word is real to me it's not just a Sunday morning make me feel good message it's something that I believe and I take into Monday and Tuesday I live it I walk in it I apply it and it encoring house build during the calm so you can stand during the storm because if you try to build during the storm it's a little late in storms and pains and disappointments and attacks and hurts and confusions and temptations of life how many of you have pains disappointments attacks confusions temptations and yeah what what do you do what can you have in the middle of that why do we teach what we teach because these things are realities in life you can have strengths you can have direction you can have safety you can have wisdom you can have a secured purpose you can have peace you can have a life that's fruitful you can continue to walk in health you can see provision manifest in your life you can understand and have a security concerning love and acceptance you can protect value and significance and you can have friends that will last and not disappear on you and I don't mean Facebook friends of someone that just gives you a thumbs up I mean one of those friends that when you're in the hospital out of the 500 friends you have in facebook how many showed up at the hospital none mmm thumbs down you know what a real friend is a real friend is the one that shows up a real friend is even when you do something stupid they still stand by your side because they're gonna believe with you they're gonna believe in you and even when they know you're wrong they're gonna watch the mercies of God they're going to encourage you not because you're so wonderful but they're gonna help see you through dark days and problems those are the kind of friends that we need learning how to be doers of the word causes us to walk a different path in life Christianity is not just a once a week service but it's a living relationship with a resurrected Savior in Jesus this is the reason why we teach the things we teach why do we teach on prayer so we pray most believers don't have a prayer life because they haven't yet got a revelation of how valuable in life-giving prayer is the prayer is communication it's not just let you letting your request be made known unto God which in doing that it allows you to walk in peace Philippians chapter 4 says be anxious for nothing but in everything through prayer and supplication with Thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God and the peace of God that passes all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus because you know that you've taken the challenges the situations that you're going through you've brought it before your heavenly Father and you're saying Lord these are the things that scare me these are the things that concern me these are the things that are almost causing me to enter into fear and to an insecurity these are the things that are bigger than me and I'd really don't know what to do with but I can bring them to you because your word says this about this situation your word says this about this situation when you understand what God's Word says concerning each situation in your life you can take it before him knowing that his word promises a solution to whatever pain you feel and the mere fact that you've gone before him and just taken a little time to pray just to kind of unload it lightens the weight so you don't have to carry it because you cannot carry everything in life cast all your cares and worries upon him because he cares for you and watches over you affectionately that's why we teach on prayer why do we teach on faith so you trust him so you have confidence in him why do we talk about the grace of God because the grace of God shows us that God initiates all things and the grace of God is this wonderful restoring strengthening loving enabling power and favor that comes into our life then our weakness brings a strength and in our lack brings an abundance where we come short he gives us the ability to do above and beyond what we can do in and of ourselves we stop this destroying in the struggling to try to obtain something through works and we realize that righteousness is a gift and my position in him as a gift and what I'm going to accomplish in life is by the ability that I receive from above not me trying to prove myself to him because if there's anything that God is looking at it's my heart and whatever is going to be accomplished in and GAM and Stephens life is because of the grace of God it's an ability that comes from above we make ourselves available and we humble ourselves and as we humble ourselves then God pours in a grace and he brings an ability and he brings us strength to make us who we are not in and of ourselves that's why the Bible says he chooses the foolish things of this world to confound the wise the Bible says not many neuville not many mighty you're called why because God's not interested in how great you are he's interested in how much you're willing to submit to him and allow his greatness to be made strong in your weakness and when you can understand that then you will trust in the grace of God to bring an ability into your life and do things through you that would never be humanly possible in and of yourself and we all need that why do we talk about walk why do we preach about walking and love and forgiveness so you don't become bitter so you don't allow condemnation and guilt and cynicism to dominate your life so you don't become hard so you're not waiting for someone else to earn the right to be forgiven and you understand that you and I did not earn forgiveness it was freely given and that we need to be as is in Ephesians 5 says be imitators of God as his dear dear children and walk and love and forgive one another as he forgave us why do we walk in love why do we walk and forgiveness because when I forgive you I protect my own heart I protect my own future when I walk and forgiveness my prayers are not hindered I don't want to be bitter III I don't want to live an angry life I've been sad I've been mad I'd rather be glad amen and so we teach on walking in love we teach on the values and forgiveness so forgiveness is something that you freely give that you release other people and you just turn them over and let God deal with them you stay focused and you keep your heart right why do we talk about worship I think I kind of covered that a little bit earlier just as we came out of worship the value of worship worship is not just a Sunday morning activity worship is something that we need to do every single day well we lift our hearts and our voice I would encourage you every day you ought to be worshiping every day we all give thanks unto the Lord for he is good worship and Thanksgiving needs to be an attitude of everyday life why do we why do we teach the things that we teach so what you gather in here the truths the values the principles that you learn is not just so we can have a Sunday experience and say okay I did church today I went to church today no I learned that because I'm a new creation that I'm alive on the inside my spirit man is alive unto God I have a soul I have a mind of will and emotions and I have this physical body but if I'm gonna walk in victory I'm gonna have to learn to live out of my inner man on a daily basis and I need to learn how to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit because I can't always follow the leading of my eyes because sometimes you know your eyes only give you physical circumstances and I can't just always reason out and look to logical thinking to try to figure out what to do but I have the Spirit of God who lives on the inside of me Isaiah 11 talks about the Holy Spirit who is the spirit of wisdom who is the spirit of knowledge who is the spirit of understanding who is the spirit of counsel I have him living on me inside of me so on a daily basis I have the spirit of wisdom so when I don't know what to do I need to slow down and not ask 20 other people on Facebook what do you think I should do I need to go to heaven I need to let my request be made known unto unto Him and I need to say spear I need to draw from the inside I can pull from above and I can draw from within that's why we teach the things that we teach so when you don't know what to do if anyone lacks wisdom let him ask of God who gives to all liberally wisdom is the ability to live life skillfully and when you learn to live out of your spirit then you won't react in the flesh you won't be a carnal man you'll be a spiritual man you won't be a carnal woman you'll be a spiritual woman to be spiritually minded is life and peace to be carnally minded is death and destruction because your flesh is natural it's temporariness earthly but you're not a body you are a spirit on the inside and you are eternal in their eternal values and the Bible says that we are partakers of a divine nature the life of God lives on the inside of you his spirit lives rich on the inside of you why do we teach the things that we teach the principles of subjects the truths so you can begin to live out of this inner man on the inside and when you live out of this inner man on the inside you realize this body is my servant it is not my master it is not my boss it's temporary but what's on the inside is eternal there's a voice on the inside my inner man hears from heaven as many as are led by the Spirit of God these are the sons of God and my father loves me he's a good good good father and he loves me he has given me his best and and he gave me his spirit to lead me to guide me to protect me to teach me to comfort me to secure me that's why we teach on the Holy Ghost that's why we teach on wisdom why so you can follow the leading of your spirit so when you have no outward evidence of what is the right thing to do and your mind and your logic can't come through with the right direction you can have a peace that comes from the inside you can have a knowing on the inside this is the way that I need to go why do we talk about healing well because miracles are still for today why do we pray for people every time we're up here during the service and after the service we're still here to pray for people because we believe in miracles people get healed people have miracles blind eyes open deaf ears open crippled people walk people get healed of cancer we believe in miracles Jesus is the same yesterday today and forever he is not weaker the church is not weaker the word has not lost its power so we want to teach that we want to teach the full counsel of God we want to teach that as a believer as a child of God you have authority over the devil you don't have to worry about voices in your house you don't have to worry about something happening you have authority over serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy why do we teach where it says in Philippians chapter 2 that God has highly exalted him and given him a name that is above every name that at the name of Jesus everything in heaven and earth and beneath the earth must bow and that name belongs to you jesus said all power in heaven and earth has been given unto me and then he gave us his name he gave us the authority of his name his word and then he filled us with his spirit we are not to walk week wounded abandoned and defeated we can walk with authority in life that's why we teach the things that we teach Romans chapter 8 verse 5 me just read this to you try to wrap this up Romans 8:5 says those that are motivated by the flesh only pursue what benefits themselves that's not us but those who live by the impulses of the Holy Spirit are motivated to pursue spiritual realities we live in a physical world but were more than a physical being for the mindset of the flesh is death but the mindset controlled by the spirit finds life and peace why did we teach what we teach so you walk in life and you walk in peace in fact the mindset focused on the flesh fights God's plan and refuses to submit to his direction because it cannot for no matter how hard they try God finds no pleasure with those controlled by the flesh but when the Spirit of Christ empowers your life you are not dominated by the flesh but by the spirit how many of you want a life dominated by the Spirit of God see this is why today we ordain men like GAM and stephen to join the ranks of the other men and women in new life because we have pastors men and women that are committed to every age in every generation why did we teach your kids the way we teach them in children's church so your kids grow up with a knowledge of God's Word pastor Rayanne and the wonderful team of all the volunteers that work with them when your kids come in there there are spiritual truths that are imparted into your kids that from an early age your kids are gonna know about the goodness of God and the power of God and the love of God and the faithfulness of God in their lives why don't every at every generation whether it's teen encounter right now and Paul and Heidi upstairs with with young because teenagers and the challenges that they go through whether it's the teenagers a teen encounter or our FNL on Friday nights and all the things that are going on or crossroads with with young people and young adults think about what we've seen in the news recently with with colleges and universities and campuses young people killing themselves not wanting to live any longer giving up on life why because a spirit of death that's suicide coming in and trying to make them feel that nobody loves them nobody cares about them that their life has no value their life has no significance that's a lie where are the voices they're gonna speak into that generation and let these young people know that God has a plan for your life God has a purpose for your life where are the young men and women committed to these generation they're to have their finger on the pulse of what's going on in these young people's lives and they care about them and they are there for their phone calls and they have words that are more powerful than the lies of the devil that's why we teach them that we preach the things that we do whether it's children's church up to jubilant believers and pastor Bert's whether you're you you're you're blessed coming in or bless getting ready to go out the wherever you're out in life God has a word for you God has strength for you God has peace for you why do we talk about Live Crew's because nobody is supposed to go through life alone we're better together we're stronger together why do we talk about these things and that let me ask you this is I try to close here how many of the things and I haven't even gone through half of them that I have here because I got a list like this how many of these things have you purposed in your heart that you're gonna grab ahold of and say you know I'm gonna make that a part of my life how do we talk about 90 and get into giving God said I'll listen if you'll sew it I'll grow it if you're sewing up multiply it and God puts into into our hands the the potential of our prosperity that everything that we do not trying to earn but as we cooperate and work in line with the truth of god's word then the power of that word gets revealed and manifest in our lives that's why there's a difference in some believers it's not that God loves one Indy doesn't love another no he loves them all it's just some do the word and some don't some give some don't some praise some don't some worship some don't some forgive some don't and those that do the benefit of the forgiveness the benefit of the giving the benefit of the worship the benefit of the forgiving the benefit of the trust the benefit of the faith the benefit of of humility and the benefit of receiving the grace of God the benefit of all that creates a totally different Christianity and the other is just as love and just as valuable but they haven't yet made the decision to walk in those and make those a part of their lives so we will continue to teach it to preach it and to declare it and then one by one you will take these truths in these principles and you'll make them a part of your life and what will happen is you will not only have a life but you'll begin to enjoy it in this dimension and in your marriage and your family and in your home and in your health and in your finances in the way that you think and the authority that you walk in the peace that you walk and the wisdom and the insight that you have in everyday life the fear that is no longer there dominate you the insecurity that it sees to become a part of your life and the kindness of your words and the gentleness of your touch you become a transformed person because you've given place to this word that is now rooted in your life and you have become this wonderful beautiful tree that is just abounding with the fruit of the life that God's deposited on the inside of you that's why we teach the things that we teach it's why we declare it and pray that you grab a hold of it and enjoy the benefit of all of it bow your heads with me lord I think of every person here this morning and all that we have and all that you've done on our behalf and all that you desire to do begins with receiving you know we knew and everything else comes as a result of that so lord I thank you this morning by your spirit anyone here whose heart has been guarded and closed for whatever reason a lack of worth that they feel the lack of value anybody here that has never opened their heart to receive you I pray that you touch their hearts right now and as we're praying if you're here this morning and you've never made a decision to receive Jesus as Lord of your life not because you have all the knowledge and the information about who he is and a lot of the things that he has done you came to a point in your life and you said I cannot do this in and of my own strength you came for a reason and I have need of a savior I need you I need to receive the forgiveness I need to receive the gift of righteousness I need to receive the love and the acceptance that only comes from you nothing the world can give nothing man can give I need to know that I'm loved accepted and forgiven I want to make that real in my life I want to make it personal so if you've never prayed a prayer where you've humbled your heart and said Jesus I believe you're the Son of God risen from the dead and I need you as Lord and Savior of my life let me lead you in a prayer pray this together with me Heavenly Father and everybody let's go ahead and declare this out Heavenly Father thank you I belong to you I am washed by the blood of the Lamb I am loved and accepted guilt and condemnation are not a part of my life fear and insecurity will have no place in my life love and esteem value and acceptance significance and dignity continue to grow in greater measure in my heart and in my mind day by day through the revelation of who you are your word and your spirit help me to see clearly Who I am to you the truth of that calls in me to rise to higher levels of faith greater levels of joy and walking in strength walking in peace living free having and enjoying this life in Jesus name Amen amen praise God
