Period Life Hacks for Summer

hey guys it's Marissa and today's video is going to be period life hacks for summer and some of these hacks are like pretty summery and then some of them are more just like everyday hacks and puri life hooks are like some of my most requested videos ever so I'll definitely be doing more for you guys definitely check out the period playlist I'll link it down below for you guys and also give this first hack is more of a hack for down there rather than like a period life hug but I still thought it was really cool and unique and they are done feted on queen bee products so Queen V is a line of products that were specifically designed for you to use down there and they're not gonna disturb your body's pH balance which is super important pH means potential of hydrogen basically long story short it's how acidic your vagina is and you're normally supposed to have a pH balance level of 3.8 to 4.5 but most soap products actually have a pH level of 9.5 which is really really not good for you because it can reduce the acidity of your vagina and it can cause a lot of irritation and it can even cause like bacterial infections which is why these products are nice because they're used with just better ingredients and they're not going to disturb your pH balance level so Queen Bee actually has 11 different products and all of the products have like a specific focus the ones in the blue are maintaining the ones in the green are healing and then the ones in the pink are just enjoying those some of my favorite products is definitely the spritzer that has rosewater in it this is probably the one that I use the most and I know a big problem that a lot of people have is like they think that they're gonna have some sort of odor so this is like also odor controlling so it's not gonna you know affect your pH balance but it's also good if you are like concerned about odor and then they have the bombshell with sweet orange and rosemary oil and this is really soothing because it has essential oils in it um and then other products I like are the pop the bubbly of bubble bath and then the you TMI urinary tract support antioxidants and they also have bundles you can get like they have the starter kit bundle and the best-selling bundle so you know if you want to try more than one thing then that's a good idea and all of the products are just really like I don't know they're just really fun and affordable and I feel like there's been nothing really like this out on the market so it's really cool to see something that's like specifically designed for down there that's not gonna irritate you and so I know these products are sold at Walmart but um you know if you don't live near Walmart you can get them online at queen bee life comm and I will link that down below for you guys if you want to check it out so this next hack is one that I actually invented a few months ago and I've been doing it ever since and it is to use these like cool pack strips that were designed for headaches on your lower stomach and I can only speak for Marissa but I have been loving these headache strips like zoella I actually recommended them like a while ago and I bought them I bought a bunch of them and I use them for headaches and I really really like them and I know that actually some women have like blood that's like built up around their pelvic area when they're on their period it's really like kind of complex scientific stuff but a cold like ice pack can actually be better for you than a heat pack so this is one that I've been doing and I actually buy the kids ones because they're much cheaper and I like that they're safe to use on your skin so I feel like you know if they were designed to be put on your head they're obviously like still safe for your stomach so I actually would recommend trying out like a pack or a cold pack um and see which one works better for you on your period and like which one helps with cramps more and the good thing about these is that because they're sticky and they can stick to your skin and they're supposed to last up to eight hours like you could technically even wear this to school you could wear it to bed you could really wear it like any point in the day and it'll just stick to your skin like a sticker so yeah so this next hack might seem kind of obvious but it hadn't actually occurred to me until I tried it and it is to wear looser underwear and I remember once I felt like really bloated and gross on my period and like I don't know I just felt like really bloated like a lot more bloated than usual and I noticed that it was because my underwear like the elastic part of it was just like digging into my skin and just like digging into my stomach and you know how like when you wear under wearing you take it off and like you have that imprint on your skin from the elastic that's what it had especially because like I was on my period I was bloated and it just felt really uncomfortable and I noticed like almost all of my underwear was like this so I went out to Target I bought like a pack of just loser underwear even if you have to go up inside even if it feels ridiculous I feel like it's a good idea and try and get ones that don't have that like elastic that squeezes into your skin I know that they have like so many different types of undies nowadays and like looser ones and ones that are supposed to not give you underwear lines so just like kind of search around and yeah like I said if you have to go up in size go up in size and I feel like if you're someone that's really really bloated like me then this is definitely a good hack that you're gonna want to do so this hack is actually for sleeping and I know that like it's summer and it gets really really really hot out in the days especially in California but at night it can still sometimes get a little colder and chilly and especially when I'm on my period I get like cold and crampy and uncomfortable and the worst thing in the world is when you climb into bed and your covers are like freezing that's like the worst feeling ever so what I've been doing is taking a mattress pad warmer turning it on at night and laying on my stomach when I'm on my period and this is good because it's like it's like a hack that will last all night long and it'll help with like cramps and stomachaches and it makes my stomach all like worm and just less achy and mattress pad warmers are like the greatest thing in the world I've been using them for years but I never really like thought about using it while I'm on my period and like laying on my stomach I mean obviously this one works if you're like a layer on your stomach because I love sleeping on my stomach and I like this one too because it has like ten different heat settings so if it is like really hot where you live you can just turn it on the lowest setting and it's not gonna like make you too high it's not gonna overheat you so yeah I recommend getting one with like a lot of settings because if you just get one with like three settings it might just be too hot and overheat your body and I'm someone that like I can't sleep at night if I have like bad cramps or bloating or something so this has been a lifesaver for me so in some of my previous period life hack videos I've talked about giving yourself like stomach massages and they're just really helpful especially when you're on your period and I know I've mentioned the horse-shoe massage which is good for like irritation and digestion but I've just discovered a new like massage position I use for stomachaches and it is to kind of like massage your tummy by rubbing it opposite ways like this and if you're somebody that's you know gets stomachaches and irritation and just like you just have bad cramps then I feel like definitely give this a try and I'll link my other period lifx videos below you know just in case you want to see the other one the horse-shoe one but yeah I feel like giving yourself stomach massages is just really really helpful [Music] so this one is like really really cheesy but just hear me out guys before you just roll your eyes at me and call me crazy it is to write down at the end of the day three things that you're grateful for on each day of your period and this is actually scientifically proven to help you physically and emotionally because you know sometimes at the end of the day we hold on to like hostility and negative feelings especially when you're on your period just because you are more hormonal and they actually did a study and it showed that people who did this were a lot less stressed and they had a lower risk of having a heart attack so it's gonna help you physically and it's gonna help you emotionally and I feel like those are both good things when you're on your period and I also think it's just a positive idea and way to remember that you know however bad you're feeling whether it's on your period or some something else you know you always have something to be grateful for and you know you can write these things down in a journal or slips of paper or just really like wherever you want it so thank you guys so much for
