GCSE French grammar part 4 the blue perfect tense this is higher only now feel free to skip around the video we're going to be looking at what is the blue perfect tense how to form it and some practice at the end so firstly keynote the Poo perfect tense is one of the more advanced tenses but it's quite simple to use so this is a grade 7 8 or 9 10 and if you do dispense it quite frequently in your writing and speaking then you're definitely going to be impressing The Examiner so let's begin by looking at what is the blue perfect tense so the pre-perfect tense is used in English when we want to say yesterday I ate a Burger but last week I had had a cake so we can say that the Poo perfect tense describes a past action before another past action so something that you did before something else you talked about now let's look at how to form the blue perfect tense so this is the structure the pre-perfect tense is the imperfect of avoir or ET so you can kind of see how that acts as the auxiliary of the blue perfect and then it's plus the past participle of the verb so you can see on the left hand side table that you've got the imperfect news now you may be asking how do you know whether to use and again it's same if it's a Mrs Wonder Trump verb of the past participle then you use it if it's not that is avwa and to form the past participle you just take away the e-r-i-r-o-r-e ending and add e with an accent or I or You so let's look at an example here if you wanted to say I had eaten a cake you've got the imperfect of in this case avoir so Javi and you've put that towards the pronoun Jersey so you've conjugated it and then you've got the past participle of Mojo which is Moji soji um
