He penned the Karnataka state anthem that is Jai Bharata Jananiya Tanu Jati. So according to poet, the earth itself is a heaven to him. The nature here itself is a heaven for the author here.
So here the author is describing the beauty of the nature. That was about the prose. I believe that books will never disappear. In my today's session, I'll be discussing about the Pope, heaven if you're not here on earth. Here is the note on author. K.

He was comforted.
Padma Vibhushana by government of India, he was penned the Karnataka state anthem, Jai Bharata Jananiya Tanu Jati. He was penned the Karnataka state, he penned the Karnataka state anthem, that is Jai Bharata Jananiya Tanu Jati. So this poem, heaven if you are not there on earth, this poem is translated into English by Dr. N. Nagarna. So, What is about the poem?
According to Kuvempu, he finds heaven on earth. As we all know, the story is what we have heard from our grandparents or from parents about heaven and hell. In this poem, let's see how the poet is explaining about the beauty of nature. For what he is comparing the heaven here in this poem.
Heaven, if you are not here on earth, where else could you be? If we ourselves cannot be gods then there can be no gods if ourselves aren't heavenly nymphs the nymphs are not elsewhere so here where does the poet create heavens here according to the poet heaven is earth so we all have heard the stories from our grandparents as well as parents saying that if you have done a very good work then we will reach heaven if we have made sin we'll reach hell that is what the story we have heard and we still now follow the same thing but whoever has gone whoever has dead and have they come and told us have they reached to the hell or the heaven we doesn't know but we're still into the in the same thinking saying that if we do a very good work we go to heaven if we make sin we go to hell that is the thing in our mind so here the poet says that If we ourselves cannot be the heaven on earth, if we human beings cannot protect the nature, if we ourselves are spoiling the nature, then how can we say that we can create heaven on earth? Or else how can we say that we reached heaven when we die? It is not possible. So if you are not here on earth, where else could you be?
If the heaven If the earth, the nature here itself is a heaven for the author here. If we ourselves cannot be the heaven on earth, then where else can we be? If we ourselves cannot protect the nature, we are vandalizing the property, we are vandalizing the nature. If we ourselves, we human beings are not able to protect it, where can we find the heaven? Where can we find the beauty of the nature?
If we ourselves cannot be gods, there can be no gods. Can we become gods? It's not possible. We all know that gods exist everywhere.
So have we seen it? No, we have not seen God. We have seen, yes, we have seen. Where we have seen?
We have seen in a movies or in the calendar. Other than that, we have not seen the God. But we still think that God is everywhere. So if we ourselves cannot be a God, then where is the god if ourselves are in heavenly names the names are not elsewhere what do you mean by nimsiyam nims are the angels where are the angels found the angels are found in the heaven has you all heard about rambi urvashi and menake where are all these women there in the heaven so but no one knows so we say that if you want to you Know about Trambe, Vrishi and Menaki.
If you want to know about their beauty, so we have to reach the heaven. Can we ourselves be a nymph? If we ourselves cannot be a nymph, then where are the nymphs? There are no nymphs elsewhere.
It means to say that there are no angels elsewhere. If we ourselves are a heavenly nymph, we cannot. So we have to think that we ourselves are a nymph.
We ourselves are the angels. If we ourselves cannot be the nymphs, there is no nymphs. There is no angels in the heaven. But where are the angels here?
The nature itself is the angel. The nature, the beauty of the nature is everything to the author here. So where does the author finds the heaven here? The author finds the heaven on earth, not elsewhere.
Moving forward. While this roaring stream rushes fast, Rolling surf at the edge of waves, the tender sunshine leans on worded garden and then the gentle sun make this earth heaven. So here the author is describing the beauty of the nature.
These are the characteristics of the nature, how the nature looks like. It is so beautiful but we human beings are just trying to vandalize each and everything in the name of development. That is... we are getting developed the day by day the generation is developing so because of this what we are doing we are just trying to destroy the nature so who will be into the problem at the end of the day it is we human beings ourselves so we know that if we destroy the nature we are the one who has to face all the problem but even then we are not worried about it we'll just try to vandalize the nature day by day so here While the roaring stream rushes fast, if we want to see the beauty of the nature, that was in the olden days, we had many examples, many things to show. But right now, if we want to show the beauty of the nature to our children, where is it?
Is it there? Can we find the same beauty what our parents are told or showed us? No, we cannot find that. But where they can find?
They can find only in the internet. By looking into the internet. We can just explain to our kids saying that this is the beauty of nature because right now we don't have any such beauties. So while the roaring stream rushes fast, you have seen the stream.
When the water falls from the top to bottom, it will be eye-catching. So that is the beauty of nature. Where can we find it? So here the roaring stream rushes. It rushes fast.
It runs fast. and the next one is rolling surf at the edge of the waves so you have seen the rolling surf at the edge of the waves that is in the seas when the waves comes what happens when it rolls and comes how it looks like it's look like a surf that is it's rolling the it's rolling and rolling and it's when the waves come it looks like a surf rolling and coming do we find all those things right now no The tender sunshine leans on verdant gardens. Tender sunshine on the verdant gardens. Verdant is lushy gardens.
Where can we find the greenery now? So in the olden days, early morning once you wake up, just open the window and you can see the lushy greeny color early in the morning. But now is it possible? Do we see such lushy greens now? No, we will.
not because we have vandalized it so it means to say that we are moving that is from darkness to brightness And the gentle sun makes this earth heaven. What makes this earth heaven? The gentle sun. That is the brightness. Early morning sunshine.
The brightness of the sun will make the earth looks like a heaven. So according to the author where he finds the heaven? He finds the heaven on rushing stream fast as well as rolling surf on the edge of the waves, wooden gardens and the gentle sun all these things all these characters are the heaven to the poet here so what does he say the earth itself is a heaven the beauty of nature itself is a heaven when we have the beauty around us why do we go in search of a heaven is it necessary no it is not in the splendor of harvest and moonlight heaven lies all over imbibing and spilling the song of nectar the poet does creates heaven on earth so you're in the splendor of harvest of moonlight during the time of the harvest that is during the night what happens the moonlight you can see the moonlight and early morning you can see the sunshine it means to say that from darkness to the brightness it is possible only to see in the nature we can see the darkness We can see the brightness that is at the night we can see the darkness. Morning we can see the brightness of the sun.
So where do we find all these things? We can find only this on the earth that is on the nature. Heaven lies all over.
So he says heaven lies all over where it lies from brightness to darkness. We find the heaven everywhere that is in the nature that is in the earth itself. Why do we want to go in search of heaven?
So when the nature itself, the earth itself is a heaven, so it is not necessary. Imbibing and spilling the song of nectar. Here nectar is the sweetness. The poet does create heaven on earth.
So where does he create? He creates heaven on earth. So the poet comes to the conclusion saying that the earth itself is like a heaven.
So. We human beings need to protect the nature and we have to create it not to vandalize it. So if we ourselves are the destroyer who will be into trouble, it is we human beings have to face a lot of trouble. So according to poet, the earth itself is a heaven to him.
Glossary here, nothing out of the text. Just have a look at the words. and their meanings.
