  • Flashcards are provided for each lecture to help review and retain important information.
  • Not mandatory but highly recommended for effective learning.

  • Available for Windows, Mac, Linux, iPhone, and Android.
  • All versions except iPhone app are free (iPhone costs $25).
  • Web version available for iPhone users: ankiweb.net.

Setting Up Anki

  1. Install Anki: Download and install the latest version for your platform.
  2. Open Anki: After installation, it will show the default deck.
  3. Create a Deck:
    • Click on "Create Deck" and name it "CCNA"
    • This will be the parent deck for importing daily sub-decks.

Importing Flashcards

  • Access flashcards via the first video of the course (Day 1 – Network Devices).
  • Link for flashcards: jitl.jp/ccna-files in video description.
  • Enter your name and email to receive the flashcards.
  • Files are organized by day in Google Drive, no need to sign up multiple times.

Importing Steps

  1. Download flashcards for Day 1 and Day 2.
  2. Import them into Anki by clicking the files.
  3. Adjust daily maximum new cards and reviews by clicking the gear icon (recommended settings: 999 new cards, 9999 reviews).

Organizing Decks

  • Sub-decks can be created by dragging and dropping daily decks under the CCNA deck.
  • Review all cards at once via the parent deck or specific decks for particular days.

Studying with Anki

  • Click on the deck name and then "Study Now" to start reviewing.
  • Format of flashcards: Information in square brackets to recall.
  • Options after answering:
    • Again: Shows card again within 1 minute.
    • Hard: Shows again in 6 minutes.
    • Good: Shows again in 10 minutes.
    • Easy: Shows in 4 days.
  • Recommended to use only "Again" and "Good" options for simplicity.

Understanding Card Intervals

  • New cards must be reviewed twice on the first day.
  • After successful review, intervals increase (e.g., 1 day, 3 days) to help retention in long-term memory.

Recommendations for Use

  • Avoid adding multiple decks at once to prevent overwhelming reviews.
  • Complete daily reviews to avoid accumulation.
  • Add decks after studying the corresponding day's lecture.
  • Use the parent CCNA deck for scheduled daily reviews.

Conclusion

  • Anki is a powerful tool for effective studying.
  • Helps tailor memory retention to individual needs.
  • For more information, explore Google, YouTube, and Anki’s documentation.
  • Highly recommended to try using Anki flashcards for the CCNA course.
