Today's workplaces are completely different from the workplaces of 100, 50 or even 20 years ago. This is because there has been an incredible growth in technology in the last few decades and jobs have kept pace by becoming more technical too. To elaborate on why technological skills are so sought after by employers is Lynell Wiggins, the statewide technical assistance provider for strong workforce implementation and a part of the New World of Work team. Lynell is going to go into depth about the four primary traits of digital fluency, knows what technology tools help people work together in person, and online. Understands what is right and wrong when using documents, pictures, and programs. Knows both how to use and legally share documents, pictures, and programs. Understands what, how and when to use information that is sensitive, confidential or private; Knows how to operate a computer, tablet or smartphone, and knows how to use programs like... word processing, messaging and browser windows; Uses online tools to find information, answer questions or solve a problem, and thinks about whether a source is accurate or not. We'll also be talking with Jonas and Stephanie about their experiences dealing with technology in the workplace.
