what's going on family today we are continuing our symptoms series and we're going to speak around the thought God heal my mind because until this is healed my discernment is crippled tap [Music] in during sermon prep I experienced Freedom just studying the word of God some things fell off of me because I articulated several times before if the sermon doesn't bless the preacher if the sermon doesn't edify the preacher I don't know why you think it will edify anybody else so if if sermon prep was any indication of what God is going to do during our gathering on today freedom is about to hit the house freedom is about to hit this atmosphere freedom is about to hit somebody even if you watching online the power of the holy spirit is not restricted by a retina display freedom is going to hit you wherever you are watching this there are going to be chains that break off somebody's mind on today strongholds in our mind will be dismantled Brick by Brick and layer by layer the spirit of Torment will lose power over your mind in Jesus name and maybe on today for the first time in somebody's life you will experience the peace of God I'm talking about the peace of God that surpasses all of your understanding if I could say it like I often say it you'll be tripping over the fact you're not tripping because of all of the stuff around you you think you shouldn't have peace but the peace of God will start to fill not only your heart but also your mind out of every installment of this symptoms sermon series and I do believe by God's grace this has been a biblically saturated sound theology very surgical sermon series and I might be partial but I believe this one part eight of our symptom series is perhaps the most critical because today we are going to deal with the mind the way you think the way you process your reasoning your mindset we're going to deal with the mind and the exact same prayer I prayed over myself back in college when I was begging for Jesus to detox me from all the filth that I put before my eyes detox my mind from all of the filth that I put in it I'm praying the exact same prayer over you right now God heal our minds heal my mind heal my mind heal my mind the way I think what I con concentrate on my focus my reasoning heal my mind because we have to get to this place we have to get to this place where we begin to view the mind as soil the mind as soil and conversations as seeds if I was a no take I already write that down we have to get to this place where we view the mind as soil and conversations as seed seeds your playlist as seeds that website that you keep clearing the history because you don't want nobody to know that you're watching it yes you cleared the history but it didn't clear from your mind that website is seeds your favorite show that you subscribed to are seeds and here's the thing about soil soil is neutral it doesn't matter if you plant a grass seed apple seed pineapple seed Johnny apple seed it doesn't matter what seeds you plant soil does not care because the job of soil is to provide room and board for a seed and push the identity of that seed out did y'all hear me the job of soil think of your mind this lot of perversion out here it's because there's a lot of perversion in here if there's a whole lot of toxicity coming from here it's because of all the toxicity in here the only reason our community looks the way it looks is because of the mindset of everybody in the community the only reason the only reason that our nation looks the way it looks is due to the mindset of those in our nation because the mind is soil why is this important pastor and why we go in this direction before reading the foundational text it's because I need you to understand this when you view your mind as soil you now could ask yourself these two questions who and what am I allowing in my garden who and what see people who have healed Minds can almost come off as rude I'mma tell you why it has taken too much work thank you it has taken too much work for me to get my mind this healthy it has taken too much work for me to renew my mind the way that I have renewed my mind I'm tired of digging up Roots because I allowed you to plant a thought it took took too much work to get here it took too much work to view my S to view women as my sisters versus sex objects that pour and train my mind to think that took too much work and when you view your mind as soil you'll start to be selective with who talks to you you'll be selective over who has your ear not because you're mean but you're guarding your heart with all diligence because out of it flows the issues of Life somebody say my mind my mind because we learned this last week certain thoughts you have are not yours but rather they are a Satan induced Ponder we Pro that via Job chapter 1 and Job chapter 2 Matthew chap 4:3 Genesis CH 3:4 several passages of scripture I was trying to get us to understand Satan loves to plant thoughts and thoughts are SE needs that could transition into crop maturity if watered and how do you know if a thought has been watered it grows out of your words and out of your actions and a scripture that we did not get to last week but we G to get to it right now is Mark chapter 8 verse 32 and verse 33 to give a little context of this Jesus is having this conversation he says all right listen I need y'all to know what's about to happen I'm about about to go to Jerusalem be betrayed into the hands of Sinners I'm going to suffer many things I'm going be rejected by the chief priest by the teachers of the law I'mma get killed but I'mma rise up on the third day I want you to see this Mark chapter 8:32 it says he spoke speaking of Jesus he spoke plainly about this and Peter took him aside and begin to rebuke him but when Jesus turned and looked at his disciples he rebuked Peter so it's a lot of rebuking going on first the audacity to try to rebuke the Lord that's a whole another conversation he rebuked Peter after Peter was trying to rebuke him notice what he says he doesn't say get thee behind me Peter he doesn't say get thee behind me Simon he says get thee behind me Satan we're going to have to deal with this later when we deal with cuffing season this fall but I'm like man this is showing us leadership can you talk to a person see Simon sometimes Peter sometimes knowing Satan's talking but still view them as a disciple you know how much maturity you have to be in a marriage to recognize okay he's having a Simon moment but I know he's Peter oh that's Satan but they still my head hold another sermon he says get thee behind me Satan and most of the time we stop right there but I want you to notice what Jesus says after that you do not have in mind you do not have in mind the concerns of God but merely human concerns you're speaking Peter from a thought that really didn't come from you but that thought that you have is not concerned about Godly things I came here to give you Kingdom teaching and I came to die on a cross so for you to try to stop me from doing what I was born to do is obvious the enem is behind it because Satan does not want you to fulfill purpose can I help us let me give you a cheat code this is how you could always tell when some somebody's influenced by the enemy when they're talking to you they have no concern about the things of God you're trying to be Godly they're not concerned about the things of God you're saying I'mma wait until marriage they not concerned about purity you're saying I need to be an example they're not concerned about being a witness you're like no I'm not turning up turning up with y'all on juneth I'm not getting drunk they don't care about sobriety anytime you're talking to somebody about Kingdom things and their conversation is not concerned about the things of God it's an irrefutable sign that this conversation is being influenced by a spirit because it's trying to talk me out of what I know God has talked me into God heal my mind hear me family the danger of unaddressed mental pain is it contaminates your perspective did y'all hear me the danger of unaddressed mental pain it contaminates your perspective so when people come to you you're viewing them from a contaminated perspective you are using yesterday's pain as today's perspective and when negative thinking is dominant in the mind even blessings look like traps not because God is setting you up but because your mind has a setup stronghold God heal my mind let's speak around that thought from that subject heart who has been praying this privately in their prayer closet and this is confirmation for you right now God heal my mind God heal my mind I don't want to think like this God heal my mind I don't it lustful imaginations God heal my mind wash it cleanse it renew it suicidal considerations the devil is a liar your life does have meaning killing yourself will not stop the pain your life does have significance the reason you still have a pulse is because God still has a plan for your life he knew how crazy you were before he called you but he still called you God heal my mind wash it cleanse it renew it my mind that's has me altering my personality due to what an ex said due to what a a parents said God heal my mind wash it cleanse it renew it I want to be Kingdom but then I still think like culture God heal my mind wash it cleanse it renew it over thinking what if scenario after what if scenario I'm talking to somebody right now God has told you to do a thing but your thoughts keep making you think yourself out of obedience so you won't move not because you're under attack but because you're under a thought so you are literally experiencing watch this physical paralysis due to your mental analysis overthinking negative thought defeated thought Loop it overthinking negative thought defeated thought Loop it overthinking like is it possible that we are raising our own anxiety due to the movie trailers that we're creating in our head like you're not just creating a thought you're creating a full-blown movie it would be like an Oscar winner too anybody honest enough to say I have lost sleep due to the movie trailers that I have created in my own head let's go a little deeper your emotions are the cast your imaginations have created scenes and your meditation have become the credits movie trailers in your head in your head I'm talking about people who look in the void of uncertainty and make a forecast and then you mentally dress for the weather conditions that you have predicted yeah I'm just about to go through a storm maybe you're not I'm about to go into a Wilderness maybe you're not but you're preparing yourself not because you got a word from God not because the enem is attacking you but because of your mind your mind your mind this is why the text tells us as a man thinketh so is he in this relationship conference I was in I tried to get people to understand I said man if I can give y'all some wisdom let me give you some game you don't just get that person you get the way they think I love him do you love the way thinks though I love her have you seen the way she thinks when she's corrected have you seen the way they think when they don't get their way because as a man thinketh y'all should see y'all face so is he overthinking overthinking preparing for what you thought have you ever thought yourself into a mood you ain't heard or saw nothing but you feel upset due to your mindset please write this down overthinking is a misuse of your creative self look how creative you are you made a whole Oscar worthy movie y'all laughing but I know I'm telling the truth some of us the enemy doesn't have to bother you your mind will do that for him he doesn't have to steal kill anything from your life your mindset and your thinking stealing it's killing and it's destroying by itself just because my mind the way I'm thinking thinking overthinking worry here's another one worry is a down payment on a problem you may never have talk Holy Spirit I'm doing this message to help all of those who your mind has a death grip on the hypothetical but then a loose grip on God's historical death grip on the hypothetical what if they don't like me what if there's another pandemic what if I get laid off what if this is cancer what if I don't get approved what if I and then watch this from that what if you make a decision what if they don't don't like me I just ain't going to go what what if they don't hire me I'm just not going to apply see when your mind has a death grip on the hypothetical you begin to operate with what I call a perversion of Defense what is that Pastor that's when you expect the worst to defend you from disappointment am I talking to anybody you expect the worst because I can't get disappointed if I expect them to disappoint me perversion of the fence I don't have to feel pain from a fall from a tree I didn't climb perversion of Defense but here's the thing God did not create you to live at the bottom he listen the miraculous never happens in the boat of certainty the miraculous never happens in normal places it's not until you step out of the boat of comfort it's not until you step out of the boat of your comfort zone it's not until you step out of the boat of uncertainty then you could walk on water can we go a little deeper I'm learning this in real time y'all like this is a fishbowl experience meaning y'all can watch me go through this especially as we're trying to get a new building I'm learning this in real time about God mystery and uncertainty is the workout regiment for Faith anybody who's been praying God increase my faith bet uncertain situation because uncertainty deepens the roots of your faith if you're going to be in Ministry let let make it practical if you're going to operate in any form of entrepreneurialism you have to be okay with working with uncertainty I could show you this all throughout the Bible that God's greatest Miracles and wonders were done in uncertain situations I guarantee you uncertainty was high as the Israelites were walking towards the Red Sea and Pharaoh's Army was behind them but God uses un un certainty as the workout regiment for your faith I guarantee you uncertainty was high with Nehemiah as he's rebuilding the wall having a hammer in one hand and a sword in another are they going to attack us on today but uncertainty is the workout regiment for your faith I guarantee you uncertainty was high when the three Hebrew boys was walking towards the fiery furnace which is possibly why they said God is able to deliver us but if he he don't I want you to know that he's able because God uses uncertainty as a workout regiment for your faith you don't think that Daniel's uncertainty was high as he was being led towards Alliance Den hearing scar growling there and muasa and like I don't think they were just chilling you just imagine you're walking and you hear some Lions you don't think uncertainty was high but watch it uncertainty is the workout regimen for your faith so let me put it this way constant certainty is to keep your faith out of shape talk Holy Spirit I don't know where we're going I don't know where the building is but I'm going keep on decreeing I'mma keep on praying God show us your Will I Am uncertain but I'm like oh God I see what you're doing because uncertainty is your methodology of growing my faith okay I'm going work out my faith well I don't know what's going to happen right now uncertainty un certainty uncertainty this is for those whose mind has a death grip death grip on the hypothetical but then a loose grip on God's historical I've tried to teach us especially on therapy Thursday how to fight to renew your mind I said okay listen there are too many scriptures that teach us us how you fight hypothetical is you use God's historical you think about what God has done before more than you're thinking about what your fear of encountering because truth be told the fear of what you fear is greater than the fear of what's going to happen in itself the fear that you have of this happening is greater than it actually happening so you're allowing the spirit of fear fear to be your therapist and you have to book a session with the spirit of fear before you obey you fight by using God's historical why do you think all throughout the fabric of scripture you keep hearing this language remember I'm about to help you I'm going to show you passage after passage after passage so you can Mark these down for anybody who battles with overthinking and hypothetical just plagues your mind Deuteronomy chapter 8 verse 2 first word remember how the Lord your God LED you all the way in the wilderness these 40 years so before you start tripping over Giants remember who kept you along the way more Bible Deuteronomy chapter 8: 11 be aware that you do not forget the Lord your God the psalmist tells us in Psalm 77:1 I will remember the Deeds of the Lord yes I will remember your miracles of long ago even Jonah after he disobeyed ran away from God sitting in stomach acid this is what Jonah prayed in Jonah chap 2 verse 7 when my life was fainting away I remembered the Lord and my prayer came to you into your Holy Temple what we talked about last week Ecclesiastes 12:1 remember your creator in the days of your youth watch it before the days of trouble come you're not even in trouble yet one person caught it you're not even in trouble yet but if you don't know how to fight while you have peace what you going to do when the days of trouble come he's telling you remember it now remember it now so when Trouble Comes you already know how to fight even Jesus the last supper notice what he says Luke 22: 19 he took bread gave thanks and broke it and he gave to them saying this is my body which is given for you do this in remembrance of me so how do you fight overthinking how do you fight hypothetical you remember I remember when he kept me I remember when I was on a strip of Pole now I'm in church worshiping I remember when I was on the corner slanging dope now I'm a usher in the church I remember when I was in jail now look I'm free I remember when I could have caught that but he kept me I remember when those bullets were flying and it went a different direction I remember when I did the exact same thing as my friend did they're dead but I'm still here I remember how about we pause real quick Park pull over put a quarter in the meter and let's give God I I remember praise I'm not convinced I remember where I was before you found me you've been faithful I remember you've been holy I remember you've been honest I remember you've been mighty right now remember remember what you remember will be your ammunition or your aggravation remember remember something's going to happen in here on today church family I just feel it remember I want to help and teach you how to fight to renew your mind as long as I've been in church I've heard so many sermons renew your mind my question has always been how how I want to help you to learn how to fight to renew your mind we're going to partner with the holy spirit so that we can renew our mind and I could just be honest in my own life I'm going to share methodologies on how I keep my mind focus on the promises and the goodness of God even when my eyes tell me to believe something else can I be honest my eyes my mind and my heart are not friends somebody said that part maybe it's just me my eyes my mind and my heart are not friends I have to constantly keep telling my eyes don't believe that don't believe what you see because we walk by faith and not by sight don't believe what you see but believe the word of God that you have in your heart now mind meditate on that daily sometimes weekly eyes that's not real don't believe that this is going to be hard for all of my analyticals and my logical in the room it's going to be hard for you because you're going to have to constantly tell your eyes don't believe what you see but believe the word of God that you have placed and buried and hid in your heart and mind meditate on that meditate on that not not that meditate on that meditate on that they're not always friends often times they're at odds with one another can I get cast down every thought every thought that contradicts your thoughts that contradicts your thoughts about me about me in Jesus name in Jesus one more time father father heal my mind heal my mind and name does anybody agree with that prayer every thought that doesn't align with the word of God I cast it down every imagination that does not line up with the word of God I cast it down no it's not easy that's why I embrace the process I embrace the process and so if we look at Romans chapter 12 verse two very popular passage of scripture and christiandom but we're going to keep reading because most of the time people stop Romans chap 12 verse 2 do not conform to the patterns of this world that's the methods the ways the culture don't conform to the patterns of this world but be transformed by your giving that's not what the text says be transformed by your podcast that's not what the text says it says be transformed by the renewing of your mind now most people stop right there but I don't want us to stop because we missed the power of the text keep going it says then then you will be able to test that's what we've been talking about this whole series the word test here means discern or distinguish so watch this do not conform to the patterns of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind then you will be able to discern then you will be able to distinguish and approve what God's will is his good pleasing and perfect will okay hold on so this is saying your Discerning ability is affected by the condition of your mind are you looking at the text I'm like why we always stop at that one part we Overlook the then it's giving you a cheat code you can't even distinguish discern what God's hand is on or what his hand is not on when your mind is unhealthy you can't even distinguish or discern when God is endorsing a thing when your mind has not been renewed so a transformed life is tied to mind renewal you can come to church your whole life and never be transformed you can come to worship nights come to the altar text Fresh Start and never be transformed because I'm not allowing the word of God to renew and wash my mind healed minds think different renewed Minds speak different renewed Minds hear different when your mind is wounded accountability feels like judgment correction feels like an attack and compliments cause suspicion when your mind is wounded somebody could compliment you but you won't somebody giving you biblical accountability they always judging me I'm like judge a tree by the fruit it bears that fruit was lustful how matter of fact I'm just calling the fruit what it is lust when my mind is wounded even those who correct me I feel like they're attacking me not because they're not doing a Biblical requirement but because of my mind so I want us to remember this chart the goal is transformation the process is mind renewal why is this in important because this is how you get Godly discernment somebody say my mind the goal that's where we're aiming for is transformation I want to transform life the process though is mind renewal mind renewal and why is that important you can't even distinguish or discern right when your mind hasn't been renewed you'll sign contracts that are TR CS when your mind hasn't been renewed because you can't discern when God's hand is on a thing and when it's not on a thing you have people become roommates that are really a trick of the enemy to get you to go back in a lifestyle that you came out of but you can't discern it because your mind is unhealthy you will date and entertain people that are pawns from the camp of hell but you view this as a blessing from God and are praying for God to bless it why because your mind has not been renewed mind hasn't been renewed but the part of this that I want to park on is the process part because there are many creatures you I I love watching Animal Planet The Weather Channel there many preatures creatures and this one that was preacher this one preacher that was a creature that preached to me this week was a frog it was a frog because everybody wants to get to the Frog level show show a picture of this frog some may not like frogs but everybody wants to get to the Frog level you know why cuz you can hop over things you can hop over things but the frog has a process to go through it has to first start depending on the species as a tagple now I begin to do some fat checks because we live in a generation whatever I preach you better fact check it because somebody will time Step at 26 minutes and 14 seconds I fact check this this is a false teacher that is not true they do that I check this tadpoles depending on the species could only live out of water 20 minutes and frogs depending on the species can live out the water five years so this is the danger of you being at the tadpole level put the Frog back wanting to be at this level trying to emulate something at this level trying to copy something at this level your lungs aren't even large enough yet to survive outside of this level so God loves you so much that he puts you through a process tadpole froglet frog if God does that with nature what makes you think that you unlearning your sinful nature is not going to have to go through a similar process when you get saved you are like a tadpole you're not ready to preach yet right now you'll take scripture out of context to match what you want you haven't been discipled yet it's okay that you're ready but that passion must be discipled why do you think Jesus spent three years with the disciples why do you think before Paul went out he spent time to get disciples and I'm just like man the danger in put the Frog back up for me the danger in this generation is everybody's posting frogs when the majority of us go back to the taphole are still here this is so good y'all if you try to hop over to at this level you'll fall maybe this is why you keep falling for that I have the process Hebrews chapter 4 put it this way I'm going to break it down even further where you can get this Hebrews chapter 4 verse 12 I read this back in voices and I want to revisit it because I got a different Revelation for the work word of God is alive and active sharper than any double-edged sword so that's a problem if it only cuts the audience but never cuts the preacher it's a double edge sharper than any double-edged sword it penetrates even to the dividing of Soul and Spirit joint and Marrow it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the what heart okay I need y'all to come here I want I want I want you to see this remember I was a student Pastor for 9 years so I don't use illustrations for clout chasing I use them to get people to get it I was trying to get 14 year olds to understand stuff like sanctification so I had to break it down in a way and that teaching style has never left me okay so Carl if you could put up the body the mind and the spirit chart for me I want us to fully understand y'all stand under where you are Warren you going to be the flesh so you slide over the stuff that you need Destiny you going to be the mind and remember you're going to be the spirit okay I want us to fully get how this happens before Christ the only person that is counseling you is the flesh without Jesus and the Holy Spirit you are spiritually dead okay so you could be sitting right now next to somebody who is spiritually dead body alive but Spirit dead once we come to Christ if you notice the language of the prodical son Parable Jesus says my son was lost and now is found he was dead but now alive okay so what happens before we meet Christ flesh you start giving Destiny a thought so the flesh gives Destiny a thought and y'all know thoughts come a pattern so give her like four patterns she got like four things blocked up in her life all right matter of fact give her another thought yeah you going to have to carry this the flesh weighs you down yeah give her another thought so she has another thought and that thought she dropping stuff that thought came as well with some patterns give her two patterns okay yeah pile it on her she said come on the other side yeah get a good side okay this is just a few thoughts I want you to have another one give her another thought I want you to have another thought this is your mind give her two more patterns y'all saying oh Lord but this is how a lot of us look in the mind now she just got saved nobody said Hallelujah so let's do it again she just got saved Hallelujah right now watch watch this she's saved now but her flesh has penetrated her mind so much that she's caral minded okay she's carnal minded she decides to come to service now the spirit of God is going to give her the word give her the word don't help her okay so she heard that sermon give her some more word she's hearing this Destiny you take it okay now she's like I need to start trying to apply this word give it like three verses now hold on wait wait wait notice there's a struggle she so good there's a struggle with her trying to receive the word so good so good it's so good there's a struggle with her trying to receive the word and keep the flesh okay so then what she's going to have to do if she wants to keep receiving the word is apply what 2 Corinthians chapter 10 tells us when it when the scripture informs us to cast down Carl please put the scripture on the screen casting down arguments and every High thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God bringing every thought okay okay calm down I need y'all to get this just drop like four patterns okay that's fine no no no that was that was supposed to happen because often times we try to drop off scripture when dropping the pattern hurts this is so good y'all man I hope y'all are getting this this is how we get stuff like Only God can judge me that's not Bible That's Tupac well a ain't ain't nobody there no it's just a struggle with you trying to keep things from the Flesh and you try to apply the word at the same same time good is this good so what has to happen for the word to be easier drop more just drop more thoughts drop some of those thoughts too drop them now Amber give her the word she trying to hear you now what happens it's a little easier but she still has some thoughts that have been handed to her by the flesh now this is what the enemy loves to do okay you changing a little bit here comes whatever your type is I may not be your type but for the sake of this illustration I am I love God you don't love God what's wrong with you what what I know the Bible too I know the word too and you should be like barely it would not be like the enemy to not see you going through the process of change and try to bring back those people who are familiar to bring back those thoughts are y'all getting this now this should bring encouragement to you you know why because she started with the lot she's not where she wants to be but she's not holding this is so good she's not holding all the patterns she's not holding all the thought processes that she used to have she is still changing she's being transformed by by the renewing of her this is so good y'all yeah so anybody who feels like I ain't there yet okay that's cool but you're not where you used to be I want this to serve as visual visual aid for all of my visual Learners maybe you are changing you are striving to do the word no you're not where you want to be but you're not as fleshy as it used to be you're not as carnal as you used to be it's a constant transformation now I I want to kind of touch on what I what I think the enemy does often times when you're here the reason we're dealing with heal the mind is because like you could take Pepto Bismol if your stomach's bothering you you could put on a Band-Aid if you get cut but what do you use to heal a bruised mind and so what happens is is while you're changing you can start expecting you from others especially if you're in Ministry with somebody else just because I'm learning this real time as a pastor just because Destiny loves the word does not mean somebody else who serves with her does too and so what happens often times is you can start expecting you from them and wound your own mind how do we do this I'm going to give you a few points then we're going to come back to y'all y'all just slide out the way real quick where they can see the points how how do I end up wounding my own mind by expecting me from them number one we have trained the mind to look for return versus routines this is hold the word for me bro listen we train the mind we have trained the mind this is how we hurt our mind we have trained our mind to look for Returns versus routines people lie their patterns don't they could try to Old Spice their hidden agenda but eventually the must of who they truly are will expose themselves so you don't just look well I thought if I did this they did no look for look for routines maybe I'm hurting my mind because I'm expect expecting me from them we also hurt our mind when we are number two obsessed with controlling the narrative we have an I think we have an idea of how we want things to go and then we get upset when people don't act out our script try to control when God's going to do this try to control how they should respond you will wound your own mind I'm trying to help us on today number three when we expect ourself from others it's because of our resume of sacrifices our resume of sacrifice I tell you this in real time just because I sacrifice for you doesn't mean you going to sacrifice the same way for me I don't put expectation on anybody the only person that I believe sacrifices that way is my wife that's it I sacrifice for her she sacrifices for me but since I'm the head the husband in the house I model in being sacrificial I lead in it men did you hear me I lead in sacrificing because husbands love your wives as Christ loved the church I'm leading in it it's biblically backwards if she suffering and sacrificing more than you because you're called to model godliness before her oo y'all should see y'all face number four we get hurt hurt our minds when we have a childhood indoctrinate childhood indoctrination of lethal loyalty you have been raised up being loyal to things that are lethal that go by the title of Mama dadd daddy Grandma Auntie you grow up with this mindset and so it wounds the mind when that has been your indoctrination now how do we fix it because remember I told you I hate when we point out problems but don't fix it number one how do we break this have joy before and outside of them and hear me it's not Joy if it cannot withstand the wind of disappointment that's happiness it's not Joy if it cannot withstand the wind of disappointment that's happiness remember I taught us happiness comes from the root word happenings so this means happiness is based on what happens that day we don't go off of happenings that means you're going to allow your emotions and your minds to be on the Seesaw of what happens today is it going to be a good day bad day rain today hot today and so your emotions literally have you ever talked to somebody that's like this you don't know what day you going to catch them all that's because they don't have a state of Joy but rather they have happiness number two this is one personally that I live on Colossians chap 3:23 tells us and whatever you do do it heartily as to the Lord and not to men so how do you break this number two do it as unto the Lord I serve you not because I want y'all to come to church not because I want y'all to give I serve because this is as unto the Lord I'm honest serving in my house in my home why not because I expect my children and my wife to serve back but I'm doing this as unto the Lord man how much Freer would your mind be if you did it for God and not for their approval alike now y'all come back we're going to end with this end with this y'all come back to where you were is it possible that you don't see how much you're growing because you haven't recognized that the more you read the word the more your old nature is falling off perhaps things aren't falling off in your life perhaps God doesn't have you in a place like man I'm just losing everything you're losing your will you're losing the way that you used to think before me see you want to get to this place now Warren try to give her stuff Destiny don't even receive it don't even receive it and so what happens now is she could discern fleshly people remember Romans 2 then you will be able to test and approve that which is God God's will pleasing and it's per then since she has the word that's flesh I ain't going to say that that's flesh I'm not going to act out on that that's going to ruin my witness I ain't going to do that y'all going to wear for the Four of July I I can't girl stop being Le legalistic no we just had Bible study and it says I should come out from among them and be separate and I just have a feeling if I hang with y'all the flesh going to be there too and it's going to hand me a whole bunch of old patterns and Destiny worked too hard to get all that stuff off so my know is not legalistic my know is guarding my heart and my mind is this good for somebody that's how do I partner with God to heal my mind now I'm going to give you personal strategies how do I partner with God to heal my mind number one mark his faithfulness so you could track his goodness this is something I do personally I Mark some things I'm not going to share with you because it's between me and God but the way that I keep my mind in a place of peace I keep marking God's faithfulness the first thing I marked this moment I still had the picture I had the little mask remember we had to wear mask everywhere I got kicked out of a store because I didn't have one have mask on try me and I put try me was indeed him I marked that moment so the next time I feel like I'm not sure if God could do this I remember May 3rd 2020 God made the ministry Go Global just for me saying yes a few months prior I marked it next one when Josiah was born the doctor told us that your wife has placenta preia and we don't know how this is going to affect Josiah in the womb when Josiah was born I marked it April the 24th 2023 at 9:00 a.m. 9:46 a.m. I was holding Josiah in my arms I marked it God gave me the birth of my second son I marked it so the next time I don't know if God's going to birth a building or he's going to birth a blessing I could trace and track I marked it for the holidays I didn't even know this my wife read this I didn't even know they published it the Houston Chronicle like we used to read this published about the church this church as one of the the leaders of the community in Spiritual Development now look that that's not something to flex about that's something for me to track about hear me please hear me I marked it in my phone so that I could always remember the next time you doubt track is faithfulness this is an assignment for you whatever God has done for you mark it so before you begin over think open your phone your iPad your tablet and you can look at all I have tons of them I ain't going to share all of them with you cuz some of them just my business and God's but just I marked the moment number two how how do I heal my mind and partner with God rehearse his goodness and Promises rehearse it rehearse it y'all I don't really have time to break this down but God is so amazing the reason he tells you to meditate on the word is because he knows how he wired you if you meditate on a joyful moment your brain will release dopamine so you will feel the same joy that you felt from that moment cuz he knows how he wired you I built you to have dopamine where your mind will release it when you have a joyful experience and the devil knows how the mind works too if you rehearse negative experiences your brain will release cortisol so I rehears his promises so the way God wired my brain it could release chemicals that it was supposed to release when I'm reflecting on God's goodness number three a prayer life forces you to cast down thoughts whoever overthinks whoever doesn't know how to cast down thoughts you're exposed on your prayer life you try to pray for 30 minutes see how many thoughts you got to cash down you will find yourself training your mind don't think about it I don't worry about the game I don't care about the Mavericks I don't care about I got to focus on it and you're training your mind cast down thoughts prayer does that number four how do I partner with God to heal my mind remember their opinion is not God's verdict whatever comment whatever people have I literally have this concept the only person that can put me in heaven or hell is God that's it and since they didn't call me they can't cansel me and last one transformation and transforming is a process that's how you partner I gave you a whole cheat code for all overthinkers use this sermon to help you battle what overthinking right now God can I get everybody just put our hand on our mind let this mind that was also in Christ Jesus be in us that's the goal help us to aim towards it God we're asking that you bring peace to our mind perhaps somebody for the first time on tonight they'll sleep without appeal they'll sleep without needing the TV on to distract their mind they'll be able to sleep because you promised us in your word you give your beloved sweet sleep you could put Adam into a deep sleep surely you could put us to sleep give us peace we're asking God wash away the callous of bitterness and pride that has us resisting the work of the holy spirit that is striving to renew our mind so that we can have a transformed life we're asking that you do it and everybody who agrees that prayer would you say Amen was this good
