Top Hotels in Athens with Acropolis View

Hey, guys ! Welcome to Greece Explained ! Sebastian here, I'm a tour guide in Athens. And, today, we're talking about the best hotels with the Acropolis View. Okay, so I assume you've already watched my video on "Where to stay in Athens". I explain all the differences between the neighborhoods. If you haven't seen it yet, click here first, watch it and then come back. Okay so, as you know by now, there are seven neighborhoods I recommend. Let's go over them one by one and I'm going to give you my favorite hotels for each. Let's start with Psyri. First, there's Athens 21 with this very nice eating area with the view. And, by the way, something important : nearly all "Acropolis View hotels" only have the view from their rooftop, which they use as a breakfast/dinner area for their customers. There are some hotels with actual rooms with the view at the Acropolis from the room. But those are usually much more expensive. The majority of hotels I'm going to be mentioning in this video do not have the Acropolis View from the rooms but only from the rooftop. But some do, in which case I will point it out. Alright, so back to Athens 21. This is the Acropolis View they have from the eating area. Rooms start around €140 a night. And, as usual, these are prices for high season. So, if you come during shoulder season or off season, you can expect prices lower than this. This hotel has one room with the Acropolis View, which is their "Deluxe Room", with this balcony here. The "Deluxe Room" goes for €180 a night, which is a great deal. Such rooms are usually €300, at least. Okay, next we have Attalos Hotel, pretty similar to the previous one. Rooms start at €150 a night. Next, the Athens Version Luxury Suites. Again great rooftop with the view. This one starts at €160 a night. Then, there's the Mirame Athens Boutique Hotel, €150 a night. And this one is a four-star hotel, by the way. While all the others, so far, were three-star. Next, we have Athens Stories : similar rooftop with the view. But this one is a little different because these are not rooms, but apartments. So, much bigger, sometimes with multiple bedrooms. If you're more than two, this is perfect. Prices start at €260 a night. The last place I want to mention in Psyri is a hostel for those of you who are on a budget But still want to have the Acropolis View. It's called Pella Inn Hostel. It's super cheap : €20 per person for a bed in the dorms or €80 a night for a double bedroom. And, yeah, surprisingly enough they have a rooftop with the view ! For that price, it's pretty crazy ! But, yeah, it's a hostel ... So, don't expect the same kind of service as you would have in a four-star hotel ! Alright, now let's talk about Monastiraki. There are only two hotels I want to recommend in Monastiraki. All the others are either too expensive or the service and the amenities are just not good enough. And you can tell when you read the reviews that some customers were not impressed. The first one is called "360 Degrees". It's a three-star hotel and rooms start at €150 a night. Now, I just want to draw your attention to one point : their rooftop restaurant is open to the public, it's not just for the hotel's guests. And the second hotel in Monastiraki is "A for Athens". Their view is pretty amazing ! I mean, look at that : you're just above Monastiraki square. And, same thing here : their restaurant is open to the public. Rooms start at €160 a night. And, if you're ready to spend a bit more, then, you can go to one of their rooms with the Acropolis View. Prices are between €200 and €300 a night. Alright, let's talk about the city center now. For the same reasons as for Monastiraki, I will only mention two hotels. The first one is the Lekka Hotel & Spa. Their rooftop is super nice and it's also one of the rare rooftops from where you can also watch the sunset. Rooms start at €170 a night. The only thing to keep in mind is that their rooms are kind of tiny, as you can see on this picture. Next, we have this guesthouse called the Dreamy Athens Penthouse. You have the Acropolis View both from your balcony and from the living room. The guest house can fit up to four people and goes at a price of €170 a night. Very good deal in my opinion. Next neighborhood : Syntagma. The most iconic hotel in that area is called King George. It's located here and that there, in the back, that's the Greek Parliament. So, yeah, it's a pretty prime location. It's a five-star hotel. And just have a look at how glamorous this place is ... This is where celebrities and politicians stay when they're in Athens. Rooms start at €650 a night. And they have this insane rooftop swimming pool with the Acropolis View. I met quite a few of you who stayed at that hotel and everyone said that this was the best hotel they had ever stayed at. But, yeah, of course, it's not a cheap place. It is possible, fortunately, to find places cheaper than that in Syntagma. I have three for you : Astor Hotel with this beautiful rooftop restaurant. Rooms start at €130 a night. And, if you book the Acropolis Frame Room, you will get to see the Acropolis straight from your bed. The price for this is €220 a night. Next, we have the Elia Ermou Athens Hotel with, once again, a rooftop restaurant with the view. And they also have this rooftop hot tub, which I really like. Rooms there start at €170 a night. And now comes what is for me the biggest hidden gem of Syntagma : Electra Palace Hotel. It's a five-star hotel and there's both an indoor swimming pool and this amazing rooftop pool ! Plus, of course, a restaurant with the view. Rooms start at €320 a night. That's a very low price for a five-star located in the center of Athens and, obviously, they sell out very quickly. So, be fast ! If it's already sold out, then, as a plan B, you can go to their sister hotel down the road called Electra Metropolis Athens. Similar stuff but a bit more expensive. Rooms start at €370 a night. Alright, this was for Syntagma. Now, let's move on to Plaka. First, there's a place called Home and Poetry. Now, of course, this is Plaka. So, here, buildings are older and much cuter in my opinion. It's a four-star hotel with large and classy rooms. And, this is the Acropolis View from their terrace. Very nice. Next, we have the "Presidential Suite" of the hotel called Fos Residential Apartments. Careful : there is no shared space with the Acropolis view here. Only the Presidential Suite has the view. It can fit up to four people and it's €430 a night. Next, there's the "Iconic Suite" of a hotel called A77 Suites. Now, this one is probably the most luxurious room of the entire video. Amazing place for romantic couples maybe honeymooners. But, of course, it's not a cheap place. It's around €900 per night. Alright, that was for Plaka. Now, let's go to Makrygianni. Makrygianni is the hidden gem area of Athens, in my opinion, when it comes to hotels. Beautiful views at a very reasonable price. First, we have the Acropolis View Hotel, with rooms starting at just €140 a night. And, just so you know : this is my personal favorite hotel of the entire video. And, of course, with that price and this view, it sells out super fast. Next, we have the Acropolian Spirit Boutique Hotel with rooms starting at €150 a night. And, if you're ready to spend a bit more, the Superior Room has the Acropolis View from the bedroom, for €170 a night. Alright, next there's the Athens Gate Hotel. Amazing view ! Not only at the Acropolis but also at the Temple of Zeus, which is on the other side of the road. €210 a night for those rooms. Next, we have Herodeon Athens. This one is a four-star. A little more upscale. And they have this very nice rooftop jacuzzi. Prices start at €210 a night. Next, there's the Acropolis Stylish Suite, which is a guest house that can fit up to six people. This one is €230 a night. Alright, the last neighborhood we need to talk about is Thiseio, the greenest neighborhood of Athens. Hotel Thissio has the pretty unique feature that every single room of theirs has a balcony with the Acropolis View. And rooms start at €160 a night. Then, there's the Acropolis Vision with this great rooftop. And just look how green Thiseio is, such a difference compared to all the other neighborhoods. €190 per night for this one. And, finally, there's a guest house called The Ideal House at the foot of Acropolis, which can fit up to four people and is insanely cheap, only 70 euros per night ! I wouldn't be surprised if that price goes up in the coming years or months. As usual, all the links to book these places down below. Now, how far in advance should you book ? Well, if you want the absolute best price : at least six month. And, be careful : many hotels on this list will already be fully sold out three or four months in advance. So, don't wait for too long. Alright, here you can find the video on "The best budget hotels in Athens". Prices around €60/70 a night. And, here, as soon as it's ready, you will find my video on "What to do in Athens ?" And there you go ! That's it for today ! Hope you liked it ! See you in the next one ! Bye !
