in this video we're talking about what you need to know before getting started as a seller on fiverr whether you're someone who's just confused about what you should even offer on fiverr or someone who's just staring at your computer screen all day kind of pissed about not getting any orders for a while or getting frustrated because you're getting a ton of ridiculous revision requests from your buyers or you've been selling on fiverr and you literally have had the experience of having a tough time explaining what fiverr even is to other people in your friends group or family this video is for you so fiverr is pretty awesome if you've been to this channel before you're new here i create videos every week where i help other people wanting to make money online learn how to do that on fiverr a lot of these videos talk about skills you can learn or acquire that you can sell on fiverr or best practices you should be applying as a seller on fiverr to increase your chances of closing a deal and increase the amount of money you're making per hour work as you develop as a fiber seller but what i haven't done yet is create a video for people who are still kind of on the fence or just starting out and it talks about what you should actually expect as a fiber seller so you know if you see any of my other videos you'll know that fiverr is not easy it takes time and it's not just the golden ticket where you start and you're making millions and millions of dollars takes a lot of work there's a lot of things that you're going to encounter that are uncomfortable or kind of upset you or annoying so in this video i'm going to try to address those things before i go into this like the video subscribe to the channel i take quite a bit of time to produce and edit these videos so you know by subscribing and liking the video it helps me get this content up to more people to help more people become you know fiverr sellers making money online so i really appreciate it and it really helps so thank you all right so the first thing that you need to expect or be prepared for if you're thinking about selling on fiverr is it's going to take time and you should take time to figure out what you should actually sell on fiverr now i get hundreds of emails from people who want to sell on fiverr who you know are asking about how they can sell certain services without actually having the skills to sell those services for example i get a lot of people emailing me about wanting to be a copywriter in english who don't actually know how to speak english very well the emails are horribly written i can't i can barely understand them but they just want to you know have the expectation that they create a gig the money will come that's not the case so with fiverr when you're picking the types of services you want to offer you want to make sure that you've spent the time and maybe put in a little bit of time to learn certain things to get to the point where you're proficient at a certain skill in the example i just gave about copywriting you know people aren't going to hire someone who can't write as well as they can already write themselves right so if you want to be a copywriter you want to be a graphic designer you want to be whatever take some time weeks months however long it is learning and developing those skills right like for copywriting i have a whole tutorial about how to go from having no experience to becoming a good copywriter but the process of getting to the point where you can offer a skill in fiverr might take some time you know there's websites like skillshare udemy um channels like this one that you can spend time consuming content from to help you with the know-how on how to do a certain thing but at the end of the day it's on you to practice practice is huge you might need to spend hours days or weeks practicing before you're at the point where your service is ready to sell but you should have the expectation that that might be something you need to do right no one's going to buy a crappy service right so make sure that you have the skills and expect to put in the time to develop your skills before you can start selling or even create a gig on fiverr right like nobody wants to order a service from someone who's not very good so think about that first if you're thinking about what to offer on fiverr and you have a short list of things you might want to offer for sale on fiverr go through each of the skills or services on that list and do a self-assessment to see how good you are at those things if you're not good enough or you don't think anyone will buy them take some time to practice that's part of the journey get good at the skill and then the money will come that's number one the second thing that you you need to be ready to expect and be prepared for is not getting orders for a while you know i think when i started it probably took me somewhere within a month to get my first order but i have people messaging me who have been selling or trying to sell for six months and haven't got an order and you know the the common thing i hear people doing is just getting upset giving up on on fiverr you know blaming fiverr for being over saturated with sellers the reality is it's going to take time and if you do nothing proactively to help influence how much time that takes you're just going to be sitting there waiting for an order to trickle in um you know if you're a new seller on fiverr you're thinking about selling on fiverr expect that things aren't gonna be instant you're not going to put up a gig and millions of orders are going to come in might happen very unlikely though so you know when it when it comes to getting upset that orders just aren't coming in do things to be proactive to help influence how much time that takes there's a ton of videos on this channel that talk about how to get impressions how to tweak your gigs how to use buyer feedback or videos like these to include things in your gigs to influence how you look and stand out from the pack these are all things that you can do to speed up that amount of time but have it in your head that it's a it takes two you know one part of getting an order is fiber surfacing your gigs and in their results but the other part of it is getting getting cracking on things that you can do to make that happen and understanding that it might take some time don't get discouraged don't give up it does take time have that in your head so you don't get upset and you have the right expectation so this one is one that every fiber seller encounters including myself it's getting frustrated with silly revision requests so i've had i've probably done over 400 orders at this point in my fiverr career a lot of them go smoothly you submit the delivered work they accept it five-star rating maybe even they give you a tip awesome but sometimes you get a buyer who just doesn't get it or they just don't like you or they just don't like the work you delivered and they are going to drag you through the mud and really grind your gears with revision requests expect that that is going to happen you can't control the world you know there's always going to be people in the world that you can't make 100 happy i've fallen victim to this myself where i feel like i've delivered awesome work and someone comes back saying it's junk and i have to work against my ego to either do the revision or figure out a way to get this order completed have that in your head don't get frustrated don't argue with the buyer but have the expectation that some of your buyers aren't going to like your work and they're going to request a revision that you don't agree with this is super important to have this in your mind it's going to save you a lot of stress and a lot of gray hairs and the last thing that you really need to be prepared for is you you know being able to be successful on fiverr especially when you start getting a lot of orders a big skill you need to have that i've learned i need to have and i'm still working on this as a as a seller is learning how to not procrastinate and learning how to actually sit down and do the work so at the time i'm making this video i have about like seven open orders um there have been times where i would leave those orders to the last minute because i just get into the trap of procrastinating you know i'm refreshing my order analytics i'm looking at my gigs for ways to improve them but you know i have all these orders sitting right in front of me like common senses finish the orders but there's a million distractions in the digital world we live in and not getting distracted staying productive and not procrastinating is a skill so one of the things i do it's helpful that skills i create blocks of time in my calendar um that are dedicated to fiverr and i try if i have the time and i'm not tied down with personal commitments i just try to bang out fiverr orders any spare moment i have where i'm not doing something else even outside of those blocks you know get getting to things early and often is important and procrastination can kill you as a fiber seller so that that's that's one thing you need to expect you know when when i started on fiverr i had in my head oh i could complete all these orders so quickly i would just bang them out this would be easy trust me we're all humans unless you're some organizational wizard you're gonna experience the challenges of procrastination have it in your head that you're gonna face these types of challenges whether it be writer's block you just feel them lazy they're just not in the mood it's gonna come up have the mindset that it's gonna come up and have a plan for how you're gonna overcome it because it's gonna be hugely important you want to complete orders on time you don't want to get overburdened with having too many orders as a seller that you can't complete and you know it's just good for you as a person to get into a routine where you're not procrastinating so these are all things that um new fiber sellers need to expect um when coming onto the platform it's a journey you know it's there's no one stop solution for all of them i just wanted to make sure i covered these with you because it's important so yeah that's it for today thanks again for watching until next time cheers
