Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 Review

hello people welcome back to our YouTube channel today's topic is really fun so today we'll be discussing if this Roy and field Interceptor 650 is a good tourer or no just look at just have a look at it how absolutely stunning it looks you know it it just camouflages with any background you know let it be the highway let it be the city let it be uh in the wilderness like we are in right now it just suits every every background every situation every place okay so talking about the topic whether the Interceptor 650 is a good tourer or no I think for any bike to be a good tourer it needs to have a few uh features in it you know few capabilities most importantly the ergonomics and I think the second most important thing is its power the power to ride on the highways the speed that it can give you and there are also other few uh things like you know the fuel tank capacity the tires and many many other things so like we'll be discussing a few important ones today let's start with the ergonomics I think for for The Intercept to 650 it has a confusing personality confusing in a positive sense it gives me a it gives me a very good performance in the city on the city roads and traffic in narrow Lanes also on the highways it acts perfectly like a cruiser you know so I'm just confused whether it's it's a city bike or it's a it's a cruiser I think everyone uh with the Interceptor has this dilemma whether you know what kind of a bike it is for me it is a bike that can do multi-tasking M it's a multi-purpose bike you can ride it on the city roads you can take it on the highway you can do off-roads on it so uh ergonomically it's a very good touring position with the handle bars you know wide handle bars only thing is the because of the tank is too lengthy uh you have to lean in front so this adds a sportiness to the bike it gives you a little sportiness to the sitting position because of that sporty position what happens is it it always keeps you on your toes you know the bike wants you to wants you to uh ride it very fast ride it quickly on the highways but at the same time it is it has a touring position uh the the handle bars are wide you know so it gives you good uh Comfort uh it doesn't strain your shoulders much when you're holding them for the long Journeys while you're touring with the with the stock seat that you get on the Interceptor it is a flat seat you know it doesn't have much cushioning my experience with the stock seat was that you know I used to ride it for 1 or 2 hours on the highways and my back used to ache like anything my bump used to get sore while in the city it only took me 1 hour for that soreness to come so that's why within you know one or two weeks after buying this bike I purchased this new touring seat that the Royal en field is providing now I don't think it is available on the app yet any dealership you go you can just ask them for this uh Royal Enfield touring seat the thing with the seat is it has a very good questioning very good cushioning than good the The Ripped thing it gives you good grip also this narrowness in the front it helps you to keep your legs your knees close to the tank holding it very tight which helps in the overall seating ergonomics giving you a good riding experience now after the ergonomics let's talk about the power the second most important thing for any tourer is that the bike needs to have good power so while riding on the highways all vehicles they mostly Ride On Top speeds that are allowed for Indian roads for any bike I think the speed limit is 80 km it doesn't exceed that this bike is uh you know much much capable very capable for doing that so technically speaking it gives you a 47.4 PS power and 52.3 new M of torque which is which is more than enough for the Indian roads I mean I have friends abroad and one of my friend actually he said he has bought an interceptor uh because he wants to start riding motorcycles and he said ke because it's a very basic bike you know so he bought the Interceptor so I I started laughing the thing is with uh the roads and the speed limits abroad this bike is comparatively a smaller engine the the power that this bike produces it is it is very less for them so they the people over there abroad They Ride by you know that are 800,000 CC's and above if they are riding a bike otherwise they prefer cars only so my friend said because he wanted to start you know riding so he wanted to get his hands on a bike uh to learn you know how to ride a bike that's why he bought this Interceptor but when we are talking in the Indian terms this bike is like the dream of most people people you know start with smaller bikes 100 cc 150 cc engines 200 cc 3 50 cc in my case also I started with the classic 350 so 350cc was a big engine for me so I bought that after that I purchased a scram 411 and now this like this is actually my dream bike and I have it so you know it's only a matter of you know how you percept things in in a foreign countries this is a smaller bike with less power for their roads but for the Indian roads this has more power than needed so uh the reason I'm saying this is because for every tour it is very important for the bikes engine to provide good par and seeing the power specifications of this bike it is a very good performer on the highways I mean uh I have uploaded videos about my uh Vlogs from Pune to Bangalore Bangalore to Pune and this bike has you know just stunned me in every mile that I've covered you know when uh when you're cruising at 120 km/ hour on this bike and there's another vehicle that is doing the same speed with you and then you need to overtake this bike won't shy to overtake even at 120 so it goes above 120 very easily the the power is there at your accelerator and just you just have to push it and it will go so this bike is very good in terms of ergonomics and speed the power for for touring other things that you know you can you can talk about when uh seeing if the bike that you want is a good uh tourer or nor is you know the fuel capacity uh it is very important to have uh good fuel capacity for the bike because when you're touring you don't know for how long you won't be able to find a fuel station so this bike has I think I'm not very sure but I think 13.5 L of fuel tank it gives me a range of around uh 250 km or in fact more than that uh when I do one one full tank the the highway mileage that I received during my Pune to Bangalore and Bangalore to Pune trip was anywhere around 24 to 27 km per liter again it depends on how you're riding what speeds you're riding if you're being able to maintain that speed constantly or no one more thing you can talk about is the suspension this bike you know it it is mainly a city bike you know the way it is built so it has a stiff suspension we cannot blame the bike of course because it is it is built for some other purpose it is built for the city roads but it has performed very well you know on the highways there is no need for you to worry much about the suspension apart from the suspension another thing is the weight of the bike the bike weighs around 205 kgs or so so it has both its pros and cons uh so in terms of Pros the thing is the bike the weight of the bike it gives you stability especially when you're touring on the highways there are many big vehicles that come into the into the picture so this weight of the bike it helps you to be stable on the highways so that is a pro the con for it is it comes only into the picture when you're parking the bike or when you are in the city traffic or so when you have to reverse the bike or you have to park the bike or you have to get any movement in the bike without the [Music] accelerator it has been a great tour man this bike has performed so well on the highways for me I have done more than you know right now it's a new bike it's been only 3 4 months since I've bought it and I've done around 3,000 km on the highway every Touring bike has you know its limitations so now that we are discussing about the touring part of the Interceptor we might as well discuss about the limitations of the Interceptor uh while touring one of the major con about the bike while touring is the seething uh position as I said uh it has a two Wing stuns but but also it it has you know a sportiness to it it makes you lean forward so over a period of time if you're riding for more than you know 6 7 hours that will cause you some back pain definitely it will cause you some back pain the stouring seat that I've got it is not great but it is good I'll tell you about my experience so from pun to Bangalore the distance was around 860 km or so so for around 4 to 500 km I had a very comfortable ride but after that the stiffness the suspension it gives you pain man uh even small bumps that you feel it pains a lot after 4 500 km on the bike and most important the heat that comes from this engine it'll bother you a lot the heat is again a big big con of the bike if you are wearing proper gears you won't have any heat issues at all the one thing about the Interceptor is you have to wear boots all the time there is no compromise with that I hope you all like the video I've reached my home it's a hot sunny afternoon in Pune I I'm going to go and have some lime juice one request I have for all the people who are actually watching this video it's summer time you know we cannot stay without water is the same case with animals man you know stre animals like this one see this this doggo we should at least you know put some uh vessel with water in it for these animals it's just a kind request if you all can do it it'll be great you know just put some water in a small vessel in your parking on the roads and that will help them a lot on this note thank you Tata bye-bye
