Verse one says amplified. When Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on the mountain. And when he had seated or he was seated, his disciples came to him. Then he began to teach them, saying, "Blessed, spiritually prosperous, happy to be admired, are the poor in spirit, those devoid of spiritual arrogance." That's a good place right there. We can pause right there for a second. Minister Warren ministered this morning. He was talking about humility and talking about the way God blesses us is that he blesses those that are humble. He He exalts those who are humble. But the arrogant, God says, he will despise. So that's another word for being poor in the spirit. Those devoid of spiritual arrogance, those who regard themselves as insignificant, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven both now and forever. Blessed, somebody say blessed. Blessed, forgiven, refreshed by God's grace. or those who mourn over their sins and repent for they will be comforted when the burden of hunger and thirsty for the things of God. I'm not so concerned about my wallet being filled. Hello somebody. Do you understand that once God has blessed you and you have repented of your sins according to the scripture, repent. The word repent means to turn to do a 180. It also means to think differently. Y'all still here? Think differently. In other words, you've been thinking wrong. Got that? Some of y'all to catch that next month. Amen. Hey, we're going to get into that, too. I know we ain't got but a few minutes, but I'm going to try to do all I can in the few minutes I got. Amen. We've been brought up wrong. Some of us, we've been taught that if if you get a house, you blessed. Y'all looking at me funny. I know. Pastor, where he going? Let me help you. If God blesses you with a 30-year note, are you really blessed? Come on here. Talk to me. Talk to me. You understand? I was talking to uh Prophetus Jackie of San Antonio and she was talking about how God had given her all this property. Now you talking about title deed. God had given her these properties. I said, "You blessed." She said, "Yeah, that ain't all. He gave me a million dollars, too, to buy this." Y'all still here? I'm I'm trying to help you understand something that if God has blessed you with anything, there is no sorrow attached to it. Amen, somebody. You do know if you got a job, you can buy what you want to buy. You can call it God all you want to. But you got a job and that helps you pay for what you get. Amen. You can't put everything on God and call him a blessing. I'm talking about the blessed man today. The blessed man and the blessed woman. There's a prerequisite in order for us to be blessed. You got to turn from evil. You understand that Christians can be evil. Christians can be wicked. I know you might be, you know what pastor talking about? I don't understand this. I wish he get on with that cuz I ain't no wickedness in here. You do you understand that whenever you and I don't do the will of God, we're wicked. My God. Let that sink in. Don't let that go over your head. You are wicked when you don't do the will of God. I got I got scripture for it. In the book of Matthew, we ain't going to go there. 17. There is a there is a young man that has a demon in him. Okay. And being that the disciples had been with Christ, of course, the man that had the son with the demon took the boy to the disciples. Okay? You understand? Why did he take the boy to the disciples? Well, they had been with Jesus. And anytime you've been around somebody long enough with the anointing up on them, that anointing should rub off on you. Y'all still here? Come on, somebody. But the problem was that the anointing wasn't on the disciples because the disciples couldn't cast the devil out the board. Y'all still here? Yes, sir. So when Jesus is confronted with the father of the son that had the demon, he tells Jesus, "I brought my son to your disciples, and they could not cast out the devil." That's an indictment. So Jesus then says, "Bring the boy to me." So he brings the boy to Jesus. Jesus cast out the devil. Now the disciples asked him privately, you know, cuz you're ashamed. You know, you want to talk to him. You you want a private meeting with me now. Why could not we cast out the devil? The disciples asked. Jesus said, "You faithless, faithless, worthless, no good disciples, wicked." He said, "How long shall I be with you?" In other words, you've been with me all this time and you can't cast out a devil. You wicked and no good worshippers. Going somewhere with this. We call ourselves disciples. We meet people with with situations and we tuck our tail and we run cuz we know we ain't got what it takes. Who you been hanging around with? That's all I want to know. Cuz if I've been hanging around Jesus long enough, guess what? The anointing that's up on Jesus's life, inadvertently it rubs off on me. Preacher. Come on, y'all. So if I have the anointing of God, it is not for me to go around telling people I'm anointed. Sir, it it's about it's about me. Watch this. It's about me allowing the kingdom to come through me. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. How is it going to be done on earth? Through human vehicles. He's going to use us. But some of us refuse to be used by God. Say that you refuse to be used by God because you know it's going to take some work. When we was coming up, they used to have a a saying that we call tarrying. Taring. If they didn't feel if they were not filled with the Holy Ghost, Brother Loft, you got to tarry with them. It might take you an hour, but you're going to tarry with them. Bringing that bucket out here because we going to have some folk throwing up. We're going to have some folk that we got to catch some stuff with with some Y'all still here? Amen. These were the people who had been with Jesus. Yes, sir. And that they were doing what Jesus had called them to do. You understand that you are lawless whenever you don't do what the law says. That's right. It is called iniquity in the Bible. If you are full of iniquity, that means that God cannot use you because you are perverted in your ways and in your thinking. Hallelujah. I'm not going to do that. It doesn't take all that. Now, we just want to come to church nowadays so that we can watch the performance. My God, we want to see the the the praise team sing. And most most churches now that are visited by other people bring a praise team and after the praise and worship is through, they leave the church. Y'all must know what I'm talking about. Well, so well, why did you come? You came for the performances, but watch this. My Bible tells me that it is him, watch this, that workketh in us both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Yes, sir. If you allow the Holy Spirit to work in you, watch this. He's going to perform through you. Oh God, until the day of Christ, he's going to perform. We got to let him work. I'm talking about the blessed man and the blessed woman. You got to build your life around the words of the Lord. Amen. I'm going to say that one more time. You have to build your life. I have to build my life around the words of God. To please God, I must obey God. To have what I need, I must obey God. Y'all still here? You got people that are perishing because they do not hold the truth in righteousness. Let's go to uh 2 Thessalonians 2 and 10. I like to always have scripture to back up what I'm saying. Verse 10. Y'all still love me? Amen. Verse 10 says, "And by unlimited seduction to evil and with all deception of wickedness for those who are perishing, because they did not what? Welcome the love of the truth of the gospel." so as to be saved. They were spiritually blind and rejected the truth that would have saved them. So what did God do? God turned them over to a repbate mind. In other words, the word reprobate means to be unworthy. You got a lot of people today that are in the body of Christ that have a form of godliness but deny the power. I got a neighbor that is a real good mechanic. I mean, he can work on any kind of car and he's swab up and down that he's saved and sanctified and filled with the Holy Ghost with a cigarette in his mouth. Come on, somebody. And he hates when I bring up the Bible because he's always telling me how he prayed for his children. His children are blessed because he prayed for his children. And I am one of those kind of gentlemen that are that are apologetic. If you don't know what that means, that means I'm a defender of the gospel. Hallelujah. I ain't sorry. I'm going to I'm going to I'm a I'm a I'm a defender of the gospel. So, I'm apologetic. So, I tell him, "Boy, you ain't saved. You ought to quit playing, man. You ain't saved, man. I can't find no church in Las Vegas." I said, "Look, I done invited you to our church over five times already. You ain't ever showed up." Now, we had a we had a cookout and he showed up, but he showed up way too late. [Music] Let's let's rewind and and and and just press play again. He says, "Don't take counsel from the wicked." Now, let me let me help you understand something real soft, real gentle with it. You can't take counsel from your mama if she wicked. I know I'm on the cross now. Go ahead on crucify me. What are you talking about? Yeah, your mama can give you a lot of good counsel, but if your mama ain't saved, your mama can't counsel you in the book. Your daddy can't counsel you in the book. Amen. The world can't counsel you in the book. And here's the crazy part that I think a person is demented when a person goes to the world for counsel. I'm going through something, but I'm going to talk to my buddy. Your buddy with a 40 in his hand right now. And you gonna talk to him and ask him what you should do. What do you mean what should I do? This brother don't know what to do. This brother is intoxicated. I supposed to be intoxicated with the Holy Ghost. Holy Ghost. It's the Holy Ghost that gives me my direction. Are y'all still here? So, that's my first point. My second point, I'm I'm going to get to it. My second point, I want you to see it. I'm gonna go to the scripture on my second point and we're going to preach. I want to share with you this gospel. I feel this gospel. I I feel what I'm talking to you about. I feel the Holy Ghost. Shai. I feel like speaking in tongues, you know. I I feel like running. I feel like shouting. I feel like dancing even with my hip out of place. Amen. Somebody, I feel good. Not because I'm here. I preach every Sunday. Yes, sir. Wednesdays, Tuesdays, on the street, wherever I'm at. It's not about the place. It's not about where you preach. You ought to be excited every day about about Jesus Christ. Am I talking to anybody? It's not about performance. You you you got to understand we we serve the Lord. It's a pleasure to be able to serve the Lord. Amen. And my second point is you know the first one was don't take counsel from the wicked. Verse two. Second one is don't endure sinners. Let me help you understand what this means. Verse six. What am I saying? There's so many people in the body of Christ and we sit around folk that curse, that drink, that tell foolish jokes and you sit there and laugh. Let it sink in. And you don't say nothing. You stay right there and after a while, you start conforming to your environment. You stay in your environment long enough, you become your environment. The Bible lets us know evil communications corrupt good manners. I'm going to say that one more time. Evil communications corrupt good manners. That's right. So if I keep hanging around them with my good manner of self, Oh boy. After a while, my good manners going to turn into bad manners. My good language is going to turn into vulgar language. Yes, sir. Uh-huh. Some of us still cuss it and call ourselves saved. Some of us still smoking it. Man, come on here. I I don't mean to mess with you, but I'm like Mr. Rogers now. I'm in your neighborhood. Hallelujah. Some of us still drinking and then we call ourselves saved. Hello. You ain't going to hell cuz you smoke. But you need to stop smoking. The Bible says that if you defile the temple, he says, "I'll destroy the temple." I'm just trying to get you in good health. You ain't even going to the gym today, but right now you're in the spiritual gym. It's time to get yourself in shape. Get in shape. Don't endure sinners. Third point, don't sit with them while they mocking your God. What does he say? What does he say? He says, watch this. Watch this, y'all. He said, I like this piece because he's giving us instructions on how to be blessed. Blessed, fortunate, prosperous. How many in verse one? And favored by God. Now, I don't want to be favored by nobody. But God, if I'm favored by God, I got all I need. God's favor in me. Yes, sir. Let me say this to you. In confidence in God and boasting in God, I'm favored. My wife and I are favored. Amen. We can go where we want to go. We can do what we want to do. We can buy what we want to buy. We're favored with temperance. You'll catch that next week. In other words, I don't just buy everything and anything because I got the power to do it. You understand that? I know that there's some people in need. There there's there's a body of Christ that that's in need. The kingdom of God is in need. So, when God blesses you, it's because he cares for other people. Do y'all understand? It's not to be blessed just for you. That's right. The blessing that God pours out on us individually is because he knows he can trust you. If I can trust you, God said, I'll pour out a blessing. I will open up a window and pour out a blessing upon you that you don't have room enough to receive. What is he saying? You don't have enough room for it because I'mma fill your garage. You know, got so much stuff in there. You need to get some of that stuff out of your garage so God can fill it with some stuff. Amen. That's significant. I'm going to pour out a blessing that you don't have room enough to receive so that you can be a conduit that God can pour through. Amen. Be selfless. Look at somebody and say, "Be selfless." Be selfless. People who sit with people who talk bad about your God, it it it puts a question mark in my mind. That's right. I'm going to allow you and I got somebody in my family that has left God and now he talks bad about God. In fact, he was saved before me. So, we don't have conversation. We don't have conversation because you ain't got nothing good to say about my God. Now, you can't tell me that God ain't real. Now, let me just say this here real quick, and I got to get in my notes because I got some stuff that I want to preach to you this morning. I know God is real because I'm a young man that was out there on PCP, Angel Dust, True and Alls, Red Devils, Volumes, Christmas Trees. I know. I know. I know. And crack cocaine, 151, Jen, Budweiser back, and he saved me. [Applause] And if he can save me, my God, he can save anybody. I mean anybody. I was a rich undone. In and out of jail. 52 times in jail. Twice in prison. And I was saved in prison my last trip. And I preached the gospel and got folks saved while I was locked up. Hey, and I did not get out of jail and go the other way. I got out of jail and ran to Jesus, got in me a church and got solid in the gospel of Jesus Christ and meditated on the word of God and still 35 years later meditated on the word of God. Watch this. So, so, so, so watch this. Watch this. When we sit, that means we dwell or we remain there. Why folk are talking about your God? If you ain't got a spine, please get one today before you leave. They free at the door. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Watch this. Watch this. He says, "Delight yourself." In other words, watch this. Delight yourself in the word. and watch God move in your life. When we delight ourselves, it means that we take pleasure in God. Yes, sir. It is not a duty coming to church. I hope not. We don't endure preaching. I hope not. No, sir. We come to church so we can be refueled. So we can get what we need from God. I I I'm a witness. I don't come to church, Amen, just to come to church and just because I'm a pastor. But I come to church because I need something from God. I need to hear a word from the Lord. Is anybody in the house today? There are there are certain things that a blessed man or a blessed woman does not do. Okay? There are certain things that we don't say, right? There are certain things. Come on, somebody. Y'all help me preach this morning. Certain places we don't go. My God, we we don't go hang out with Jay-Z and Beyonce. If I stepped on your toes, Amen. Go ahead and clap and just let everybody know that ain't they ain't talking about him. It ain't talking about me. I'm going to praise the Lord anyway, even though my toes hurt. Amen. Hallelujah. It's called the Holy Ghost. Oh, God. Delight yourself in the Lord. Take pleasure in the Lord. It means to desire or have a longing for the Lord. My God. desire to long in the presence of God or in the law of God of God in his word. Amen. Amen. The word of God needs to fill you every single time you get in it. When you get in the word of God, I'm chewing. Oh my God. This is some good stuff here. You understand? You got to make sure that what you're getting from God, you don't hold it to yourself, but you let somebody else have it. Let me just rephrase that cuz some of y'all have been letting them have it too much. I'm talking about let him have a word. Amen, somebody. Then watch this. I like this piece. When you read When you read the word of God, is it that God has given you a plan through the word of God? You know your vision comes from God. So when you read and meditate on the word of God, you're devising. Devise means to plan. If you don't have a plan, you've already planned to fail. You got to have a plan in life. Amen. He says, "And he shall be," watch this, verse three, "and he will be like a tree firmly planted and fed by the streams of water." You'll be like a tree. When you look up this word tree, it means to be transplanted. So, he seen something in you before you got saved. He took you from the place where you were. He transplanted you and placed you by the rivers of water. Amen. And fed you. He kept nourishing you so that you wouldn't fail. You understand? Thank you, Lord. Y'all still here? Glory be to God. Watch this. By the streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season. Do you know that everybody in the world panics whenever the market fall the you know they they see the stock market fall and people start panicking. Oh, what I'm gonna do? I need to take my money out. Take it off for what? so you can go spend it. It's It's falling, but it's coming back up. We don't panic because we're like a tree planted or transplanted by the rivers of water. Our leaf never gets brown. Our leaf stay green. It never withers. People are panicking and we are just having a party. Hallelujah. Glory be to God. Why are you panicking? Well, they don't have God. They don't have the peace of God. Jehovah Shalom. They don't have the peace of God. And so they are panicking in the midst of a storm. But we're a tree like planted by the rivers of water. And we're like that palm tree. When the wind blows, we bend, but we don't break. Hallelujah. We don't break. We know who is keeping us. He shall be like a tree that's planted. The word planted comes from the word shaal which means by the rivers of water that bringeth forth his fruit in his season. And watch this piece. Watch this piece. We will prosper. Okay. Everything he watch this. He says, "And whatever he does, he prospers." My God. Let me just I don't think y'all get this. If you're a tree planted by the river, everything you do going to prosper. Don't let this word slip from your mouth." That's right. And everything that you do, you shall prosper and have good success. Hey, good success. That's what I'm talking about. That's where I'm at. It means to rush. So So the church is getting ready to experience a crescendo. If you don't know how to speak in tongues, sacred. Amen. When God blessed me, you will know I'm blessed. He says, "Wait a minute. The Lord is my shepherd." What's the next piece? I am. I say I. I. I shall not want. Why? I the word translated shall not want. It shall not lack. Woo. I'm in the right.
