Insights on the 'Make America Healthy Again' Movement

New York Magazine released a thinly disguised hit piece on the make America healthy again movement let's break it down I think this is really fascinating because right on the cover the picture that you see is children drinking fresh raw milk and as you know the mainstream media are politicizing all aspects of health and nutrition from food D to fluoridated water and now raw milk everything has become political why is this a political thing this should not be a partisan issue making people healthy should not be political but they really do not like RFK and of course they do not like Donald Trump and and anyone that he supports or wants to appoint to different positions of power like Jay bataria I think is an amazing he will be fantastic at the NIH but here we go this New York Magazine article it's really actually it's it's part egregious and part entertaining I'm not sure which one I kind of velate between the two so the title is what is Maha how Wellness culture with legitimate concerns and some conspiratorial belief became a movement poised to take Washington uh really interesting so this is a seven-part series there's an introduction there's the I this is my favorite part okay this is the intellectual god parent section and they they go on and trash lius Pauling uh in case you've been living under a rock for the past 50 years lonus Pauling is arguably one of the most recognized biochemists of our lifetime uh he has passed away of course but as many of you know he has contributed immensely to nutritional biochemistry uh has been in in involved in the discovery of different chemical bonds uh has been well known for his work with vitamin C uh and and other micronutrients as they are related to genetic polymorphisms and and had done a lot of great work a Noel prized Laurette and there's an Institute the polling Institute based after his work uh I I believe that Ronda Patrick had him on a show or one of his um you know assistants or something anyway they go on and talk about how he has set the stage for this Wellness to conspiratorial pipeline they also um really start to pick on some regenerative agricultural farmers and so forth uh and the mapping of the Maha verse and right in the center is Robert Kennedy Jr and uh to his left is Dr Mark kyman and then you have Marty McCary who uh is really well known in his field uh and then you have all these other uh there are some quacky folks uh Dr Sher Tenpenny uh in there and just people who you know have been smeared by the media like Joseph marola and so forth but um before we get into this I just want to look at the picture so the the picture is New York Magazine the future is Maha so there's a bicep saying unvaccinated and then unprocessed Foods they talk about and and you know rightfully so they talk about the harms of processed food but they kind of minimize that unfluoridated water yeah of course when you drink floridated water it goes systemically where does fluoride where might it benefit fit the human body locally in the teeth so if you want to put fluoride in something maybe put it in toothpaste and stop there unpasteurized milk there's a picture of a cattle here uh and then of course RFK junr has uh stuff crossed out on his head uh we're not going to get into all of this stuff what I think is quite interesting is how they they like to position these um nutritional debates uh and relegate them in political biases and so they put the raw milk um into a a more of a wi conservative fascist bucket uh and bring up turning point USA many of of you know is more of a a right-leaning uh organization that is has roots in Christian fundamentals and things like that they a turning point USA another campus oriented right-wing organization sells got rot milk t-shirts t-shirts in fact uh they say raw milk currently the subject of bird flu recall is an ascendency across the right including the arch libertarian Kentucky representative Thomas nassie a cattle farmer and off-grid Homesteader who calls his home the Shire and Washington the mortar so anyway they get into this and they even bring up uh Luis Mone who as many of you know has recently been uh indicted and arrested for killing the United Healthcare CEO uh I don't know how they weave him into this make America healthy movement I mean it's just like this hodg Podge it's like they they threw all these Concepts into a blender and turned on the the Vitamix at full speed and then just had chat GPT throw it onto a document and they're weaving in all sorts of crazy stuff to to me which is really interesting of course uh Joe Rogan uh gets some airtime in here they talk about uh oek what does oek have to do with make America healthy again I'm not really sure uh but let's focus on how they start kind of talking about how lonus Pauling uh and uh Lord Northburn and Rachel Carson who's done a lot of great work Rachel Carson by the way uh in her book Silent Spring talks about how DDT and um various insecticides herbicides and fungicides are uh augmenting the endocrine immune system uh in especially young children they trashed Linus Pauling saying that uh the Mayo Clinic later investigated uh some of his research uh claiming that vitamins could cure cancer and the study did not corroborate Linus's work uh saying that uh essentially Trying to minimize his scientific contributions uh to the world which is just crazy and we're going to talk more about Ken Cook in just a moment but first friends if you're enjoying this content and sort of vicariously reading this article as I grow through it uh please hit that like button I really appreciate you being here and Today's Show is brought to you by our friends over at Bond charge.com the makers of a wide array of Health enhancing tools I've been using their blue light filtering glasses and their blackout sleep mask for a lot of years they make amazing tools and one of my favorite new tools from Bond charge is their infrared sa of blanket this is one of the hottest Sonna blankets on on the market it gets up to 170° F but here's what's great about it is it's really low in electromagnetic frequencies those non-native emfs that your cell phone emits that's problematic the Bon charge SAA blanket is really low in that but it gets you really hot so you can sweat you can detox you can relax an awesome tool that we use at our household especially after going in the cold plunge or walking outside when it's cold out instead of taking a hot shower you can jump into the SAA blanket you can roll it out anywhere in your studio your apartment your condo your flat this is a great tool please go to bond charts.com where you can save up to 25% off some amazing tools that can support your health right now and into the year 2025 so again go to bond charts.com Tove now getting back to the article here it's pretty crazy that they future Ken Cook as well as Andy Wakefield here as many of you know Ken Cook is the founder or co-founder of the environmental working group a phenomenal website and resource for people like you who are trying to figure out which food should I spend the extra Dollar on to get organic versus not um they have their dirty dozen report uh and talk about you know contaminants in water they're publishing research they're doing a lot of great things and they talk about how he has sort of spawned this conspiratorial movement which I think is is really a agrees um and then my favorite here is this map and they even have um Joel salatin on this map they have Aubrey Marcus they have M Oz they have past podcast guest Kate Shanahan uh Chris Palmer I mean Jillian Michaels they have all these people um Casey and Cali means I mean it's just really uh quite incredible but future right in the middle and this is what this article is this thinly disguised HIIT piece is all about is trying to smear and discredit Robert Kennedy Jr because as you know his views on the mandatory vaccinations and the pretty intense vaccination schedule that we really can't talk about on various platforms including YouTube uh might have some possible implications for the rise of of chronic diseases in children Nina telz here past podcast guest of course you know she has really helped us uh debunk the lowfat movement how that has uh paradoxically backfired in terms of prevalence of of both cancer heart disease and Beyond so this is just really interesting um they're trying to discredit your political opponents to um create the illusion that their messages are invalid and and that's really what we saw all throughout the covid-19 pandemic and we're starting to see this now as well but um many of these faces many of these people are put out really good information Marty McCary for example uh excellent information they're even going after Bernie Sanders because he's no longer politically useful for them so uh it's it's just very interesting it's really sad how these institutions just once you're not useful for their political agenda you're are just basically a nothing to them and they really try to smear these people and and I don't know why and and so there's this section here part part four this is where we'll finish off but but explore what they talk about they say what are proponents of the Maha movement afraid of and the subtitle is toxins toxins everywhere well I mean if you read some of the data from the uh Endocrinology society and and various uh institutions and and and so forth um yeah there are environmental toxins everywhere persistent organic pollutants I mean if you've been unless you've been living under a rock I mean this year in 2024 we have learned so much uh from the Journal of the American Medical Association article in March of this year finding that microplastics are contained in the cored artery plaque we have data finding that microplastics are are found in the placenta uh they're found in the human penis there we just released a report finding that microplastics are found in the skeletal muscle and bone and these microplastics are problematic and so this is one thing they say the proponents of the Maha movement are afraid of microplastics including plastic waste well again there are plastic Islands in the Pacific and uh other oceans throughout the world that are bigger than the state of Texas yes this is concerning why are we politicizing microplastic this is a very serious problem they talk about seed oils and this is really this is going to be so interesting to see how people who are really dogmatically political uh and fall into their their priors and so forth um the seed oil argument so you know as you know and I have a report right here that we'll talk about next next week uh that has randomized people to consume either a low or high linolic acid diet finding that a low linolic acid diet reduces the oxidized metabolites from seed o wells in all throughout the body and that's linked with improvements in sleep and migraines and neurologic symptomology but it's interesting here the article says that conspiracy theorists say that CED such as canola soybean sunflower lead to inflammation and have been contributed to chronic diseases including heart disease and diabetes RFK junr has suggested people should fry their food in beef Tallow instead now here's what's interesting the article goes on to say that most research has shown the opposite that unsaturated fat commonly found in seed Wells has been linked to lower risk of carasco disease and cancer beef Tallow on the other hand is primarily made of saturated fat which Studies have shown increases the risk of cardiovascular disease actually we've reviewed all these studies and meta analysis consuming saturated fat does not increase your risk of having a stroke or heart attack that's number one uh and the comparison studies like the Minnesota coordinate experiment or the Sydney heart study that we've reviewed on this channel actually show the opposite as well when you swap out saturated fat for corn oil that is rich in linolic acid that we've been talking about guess what happens over the long term you see greater increase in mortality in the group that is randomized to consume the corn oil so this idea that the experts say most research shows the opposite these are short-term studies that do in fact show that when you increase the polyunsaturated fat content in your diet from canola cotton sunflower soybean oil corn oil whatever your LDL cholesterol goes down but that doesn't necessarily mean your risk of having a major adverse cardiovascular event goes down okay so moving on they talk about pesticides we know that pesticides herbicides fungicides our USDA our own USDA keeps really good data on the millions of pounds of herbicides insecticides and fungicides that are sprayed on everyday foods that people eat all day long very problematic they talk about pollutants and po um peroral alal substances these are the flame retardants Bad News Bears you do not want to get these into your body my friends they alter your endocrine system your immune system and beyond there are tiny amounts in processed food and Coke and and all that um they just in this they say that they actually say RFK junr is right that that polyfloral alals have been found in everything from our food to water to clo clean products and dental floss oh wow so he he actually is right on this interesting but they still trash him okay Ultra processed foods the Maha movement says Ultra processed foods are key drivers of obesity and diabetes particularly in children yes they are I mean why are we even arguing this this is insane they talk about the vws uh the immunizations I'm not even going to get into that because of the platform uh I think many people have good reason to be at least modestly skeptical uh and more Vigilant about those substances uh moving on fluoridated water they they quote they say the CDC says water fluoridation which began in the 1950s prevents cavities and tooth decay high levels of florid exposure over long periods of time could potentially lead to skeletal fosis but the levels in water are much much lower oh really are they well it turns out that research from independent groups in the city of San Francisco there was a a recent uh local court case on this found that fluoride is linked with a reduction in IQ in children this stuff is in the water most people can't afford or don't know that they should be filtering their water so they're drinking Municipal Water that's loaded with fluoride systemic fluoridation of water does not impact the the teeth my friends if you want to have fluoride buy fluoridated toothpaste don't drink fluoridated water get a water filter uh food dyes we know that red number three and number 40 are linked with ADD and ADHD and possibly cancer rates uh these are in other countries but are still present here in the US and so you we should be talking about these things so pretty much everything that they say are you know what are the Maha movement people afraid of uh there's pretty good science to support that we most people should be modestly concerned about these different things and so I don't know why this is political why are we making this political and suggesting that RFK if he is uh appointed to some office that he's going to just make everyone un make everyone unhealthy I mean let's just pause and look at you know big picture macro level we spend more on Healthcare per capita than pretty much any other developed country in the world and yet have the worst Healthcare outcomes it's time that we look beyond the medical system and focus on the inputs what is causing people to rely so heavily on the medical system could it be the inputs the chemicals are exposed to in their air food water clothing or you know beyond could it be the processed foods the chemicals that are sprayed on the ingredients that go into the processed foods the packaging that holds a processed foods I mean we need to actually go back to the drawing board and just um and just start from from scratch and say Hey how do we fix this how do we help people you know uh lowincome areas underserved communities and things like that um get access to healthy Whole Foods instead of the food deserts and and hyperpalatable processed foods that are now uh pervasive in these um you know black and brown and low-income communities I mean we we really need there's a there's a lot of things that we need do but I think we need to start by leveling the playing field and and stop subsidizing via the VIS the farm bill um you know corn soy canola Sor gum beets and all these uh ingredients that go into unhealthy processed foods um but yeah this article is basically a thinly disguised hit piece with the intention of trying to make raw milk political trying to make you know minimizing exposure to food dyes and persistent organic pollutants and Ultra processed foods political I I think it's really sad I think it's pretty disingenuous and kind of a grabbing at straws if you will I would love to know what you think by letting me uh read your comment I read all your comments so please let me know excuse me in the comment section below I'm grateful that you tuned all the way in hit thanks for hitting that like button thanks for sharing this video and we'll catch you on a future one down the road
