okay I'm here in a noisy food course testing the M pick up of the javra elite 10 Gen 2 This Is the Gen 2 Elite 10 and if you want to know what the noise level of this food C is Yep this is how noisy the food C is and this is the m pickup of the J bright Le 10 Gen 2 how do I sound let me know in the comments I regret buying the gen two Elite T now I'm sure you're curious to know why like Aaron you loved the Gen 1 Elite 10 it was your daily driver wouldn't you love the Gen 2 even more since it's got extra features like direct USB type-c connection to the case and spacial stereo so yes I do consider this smart case feature to be a substantial upgrade the default volume also becomes about 30% louder compared to direct Bluetooth but that is because the smart case is actually adding another layer of volume controls which starts out at max volume on the earbuds too loud really so what I did was to lower the earbuds to 50% volume directly then fine-tune the exact level that I need on the source player like my phone what about the spatial stereo feature now I somewhat like it because it can indeed spread out the Sound Stage to make it more Airy and improve its mids and highs reproduction which makes the audio sound crisper but at the same time it also Nerfs the base response a little so it's really a double-edged sword [Music] apart from that the Gen 2 is virtually identical to the Gen one in terms of features functions custom options in the app and their button controls what's interesting about the Gen 2 though is that it performs a little differently from gen 1 in terms of sound quality and noise cancelling what are the differences and how is it noise cancelling compared to gen 1 we could find out in this video as well as talk about any differences in terms of mic pickup transparency and pros and cons of the Gen 2 versus the Gen 1 as always thanks in the pin comment if you want to check their latest prices on Amazon and if you found value in this video give it a thumbs up and subscribe at the end for more right now we're going to compare that microphone pickup in both quiet and noisy conditions using really loud Cafe noise and some wind noise from this SP I'm now make get a phone call in a quiet place using the Jabra E 10 gen 1 I'm now Mak get a phone call in a quiet place using the Jabra Elite 10 Gen 2 one the quick ground box comes over i' get a phone call you think job right in 10 two the quick round fox jumps over that is it all it seems that the Gen 2's mic pickup has been slightly improved in noisy conditions over the Gen one the level of background noise reduction is about the same but my voice doesn't sound as muffled as the Gen one under noisy windy conditions but what about active noise cancelling well the Gen 2 is canceling about as much noise as the Gen one but it also applies a bit more white noise masking this should block the sound of human chatter a little better but if you pay attention to the decibel meter in the following sample it seems to cancel a little less noise overall than gen one although if you were to compare them side by side most people won't be able to tell the difference in terms of noise level that's how subtle the difference is have a [Music] listen now if you want to compare their active noise cancelling and call Quality to other earbuds do become a member for $1 per month or more this gives you full access to my personal comparison tool which you can use to compare earbuds A to B at your own time and at your own pace hundreds of people have joined up especially people who constantly visit a store anytime to compare earbuds they know that this is going to save them so much time being able to just cut through all the marketing and compare these ear Birds remotely without visiting a store so become a member like them click on the link below to find out more now transparency or here through mode as how Jabra calls it is one area where the gen two is an obvious improvement over gen one the pass through is brighter cleaner less hissy and my voice sounds less occluded I definitely prefer the Gen 2 for quick awareness and verbal exchanges with people compared to gen one which feels a bit more blocked off even on Max he through settings in terms of sound quality on their default settings frequency sweeps show that the Gen 2 Elite T are tuned quite differently from the Gen one instead of being just as v-shaped emphasizing the lower base upper mids and highs we're seeing a small pulling bag in the base upper mids and travel and now the emphasis is more on the lower mid around 4 to 700 Hertz what this means is a more subdued airiness in The Sound Stage Less crispness in vocals and strings tracks and less extension in the base frequencies now I suspect this change is meant to accommodate the gentu spatial stereo mode because going spatial does spice up the genu upper mids and highs to a level roughly the same as the Gen one of course you can correct that in the EQ settings but out of the box they're going to sound a little different from the Gen one Elite 10 have a listen [Music] [Music] on so I get [Music] you to compare the sound quality to other earbuds go to loud and wireless.com SL sound samples now there are two ways to look at this change either you love the Gen 2 sound signature because you find the Gen 1es a little sibilant so gen 2os go down smoother or you like the Gen one and you do find the Gen 2's more D so it needs to be tweaked me well I like it brighter now so I do prefer the Gen one sound out of the box overall there are definite advantages of getting the Gen 2 such as the USB type-c connection to the smart case this makes it extremely flexible because now you can connect it to any source with either a USB type-c or analog Jack 3.5 mm which makes it extremely useful for plain trips Entertainment System no Bluetooth easy just plug and play Simple it's he through mode is also better that's one huge plus when you're on the Move often mic pickup has also been slightly improved on the Gen 2 compared to gen 1 apart from that Gen 2 is not really an upgrade especially in terms of sound quality quality or noise cancelling also with Gen one when you take them out of the case they immediately pull the Bluetooth connection from previously connected devices so you don't have to repair them in settings whereas with Gen 2 it doesn't Auto reconnect so you have to go back into your device settings to reinitiate pairing which is not as convenient that is why as a regular consumer I do regret buying the Gen 2 because it's simply not compelling enough as an upgrade over gen 1 but as a reviewer I'm not returning the Gen 2 because I know many of you want to know how they compare to the best wireless earbuds in the market that video is coming soon so get subscribed if you don't want to miss that video and future videos about the elite 10 Gen 2 such as software updates and all that yes software updates even though jabra's not making earbuds anymore they have said that they're still going to support the elite 10 gen 2s for a few more years so I am still expecting these to be featured on this channel at least for the next one or two years now as the foremost authority on Jabra earbuds I have compared the Gen 1 Elite 10s to six other Jabra ear buts click here to watch this video
